McDonald's in Hamburg

My standards for fast food chains are very low, but this McDonald's exceeded all my expectations. The McDonald's Nuggets were completely soggy, and the McDonald's Classic Chicken was ice cold and filthy. I don't even need to get started on the hygiene.

The staff is unfriendly, unmotivated, and very slow. Update: I gave it another chance after reopening, and lo and behold, it's a complete mess. The store is still dirty, the staff are unmotivated, and they don't speak or understand a word of German. And to top it all off, the food is incomplete, and they tell me it's complete. It's a shame about the star they have to give it.

By far the worst McDonald's. Wait time: After 30 minutes, I left without a burger and Coke because I would have missed my train otherwise.

I ordered a meal. Unfortunately, the Coke was still carbonated and didn't taste like Coke. The ice cubes were almost melted and very small. I then went to the cashier and said I'd like a new Coke because the old one wasn't carbonated. The employee then wanted to give me one of the pre-made Cokes – there were probably 15 cups already sitting around. My tip: It's better to refill the drinks fresh, then these problems won't arise in the first place. I insisted on a freshly refilled Coke – after a brief discussion, I finally got it. But I don't think such discussions should be necessary. Management should explain to employees that they shouldn't argue with customers in such cases if something is wrong with the drink or food. The burger tasted good, the fries were okay. The chicken burger, however, was a bit cold. The cashier didn't seem particularly professional, but the staff who cleaned the restaurant were very nice and helpful.

Finally renovated and switched to vending machine ordering. You can conveniently order 🍔 and 🍟 via app or touchscreen!

There's no difference in language, and they demand more money from people. I asked them to give me my money back, and they said, "We gave you your money back." They're seen from this McDonald's, the dirtiest place to work.

If 2 out of 5 items ordered (digitally at the terminal) are incorrect, something is seriously wrong with the organization. The hot drink was lukewarm, and contrary to the order, a cappuccino instead of a café crème, and the fries were salted despite the stated request "without salt"... (Correction to the original review, in which the Mecces was rated even higher 😕)

A typical McDonald's with its pros and cons. Located by the train station, it's more or less busy (depending on the time of day and holiday season). Ordering is done via touchscreen. Standard prices and menu items. Fast table delivery. Friendly staff. Cleanliness was also OK.

It's just awful. They have a monopoly at Dammtor, they kick everyone out at a quarter to, and they still close at 1:00. It makes absolutely no sense, but there's nothing you can do, so be there by 12:30, folks!

30 minutes before closing time, people were yelling that the store was closed and shouting outside. People who wanted to sit down because they had just gotten their food were being yelled at. Half of the ordering terminals weren't working. Awful place.

I went to eat on September 14th, 2025 after the reopening. With the new ticket system it's very chaotic, lots of people standing around waiting and it's very confusing and the staff are unfriendly. I was only there to quickly get two hamburgers. I waited over 10 minutes despite asking twice. I almost missed the train and it was also very expensive. They've definitely lost a customer.

Just a normal McDonald's restaurant

I recently wanted to eat there during EuroFurence 29. The line was too long because ordering through staff was no longer possible, and of the four automated ordering machines, only one worked, and the line was extremely long, so I left. Unfortunately, I can't rate the food. But it's unacceptable that they don't make you wait, and that only one automated machine works, especially when there's a convention at the CCH where they expect a lot of customers. So, it's a real disappointment.

I ordered via the app today shortly after 7:00 a.m. Since the store was closed until 7:10 a.m. and no employees were there, I can't say anything more. My voucher is gone, the money was debited, and I haven't received any items. If I can order via the app, I assume the store is open, or will open shortly after opening hours. It's a disgrace.

The food took way too long; people were waiting for two hours. The staff is clearly overwhelmed and untrained. And then they try to kick us out 10 minutes before closing time while we were eating there 😂 It's hard to believe what's going on here.

It's unacceptable that at a reported convention, the store kicks guests out at 12:30 AM and deactivates the app ordering system! That's disgusting! It says OPEN UNTIL 1:00 AM, so order until 1:00 AM and you're done. Many people were charged money via PayPal, but nothing was given out. A separate complaint will be filed with headquarters! Very unfriendly manager, he has no business being there!

Orders are placed one hour before closing time. Service is very limited and the food is rather mediocre.

We waited an hour for our food, and then they couldn't find our order in the system. After we complained and waited so long, one employee said to another, "All the sick people here." When we finally got our order, we got half-raw fries and a burger that tasted like paper. If we could give zero stars, we would. Never again at this McDonald's!

Service was okay, food was just McDonald's. My wait was about 40 minutes, but the food was still awful. The Coke Zero wasn't Coke Zero, which isn't good for someone with diabetes, as you can see in the photo.

You should only really go if you have a lot of time to spare. Waiting times are abyssmal, I would not call this "fast" food. Especially for a location this close to the CCH and for being in a travel station. Food is basic Mc'Donalds food. So if you plan on grabbing a quick snack before your next connection. Don't. You'll miss your next train or bus.

Waited 1.5 hours for half an order

I had to wait 30 minutes for a simple order. In the end, an apple turnover was missing, and no one had time to listen to my complaint or replace the missing apple turnover.

Awful overpriced food that is just haphazardly slapped together and then throne at you. Toilets locked with rope, all self service machines broken, messy with food everywhere on the floor. Awful experience.

Extremely disappointing service for lunch, waited for 30 minutes for food that never arrived. When I asked the pickup point for an update, I had my receipt taken and was waiting for an additional 30 minutes with me asking two more additional times for an update with no response. I gave up waiting in the end and will not be returning, very disappointed with the service provided. The breakfast service was pleasant and fast but the lunch service unfortunately brought it down.

I saw an employee here simply get a bag of fries handed over the counter by a customer and dump it in the fryer. That's really unhygienic and incredibly dangerous for allergy sufferers, as well as negligent. A video of it is now online. I hope this doesn't meet McDonald's standards and that the employee is disciplined accordingly.

As you can clearly see, we ordered a lot of food. 10 minutes later, the lights were simply turned off (by the blonde manager) to clearly tell us to leave, even though it was only midnight and they weren't closing until 1 a.m. Extremely unfriendly staff and a lot of noise when the tram goes over. Not recommended.

Attention, they no longer have a toilet and not even the possibility to wash your hands. You have to spend 1 euro somewhere else and then you get a 50 euro voucher and you can't redeem that voucher. Total failure. There must be the possibility to wash your hands before you can order something to eat.

It's your average McDonald's, it being in a train station makes it very convenient though. It's open till 1AM and a good spot to go to during conventions when you're like me and forgot to eat anything until like midnight.

This morning at 8:30 a.m., I tried to order a large cappuccino with my reusable cup. I felt like I was in the valley of the ignorant. The female employee couldn't do anything with the cup until I explained the system to her. The next disappointment was that the large cappuccino was made by the fully automatic machine and not the portafilter machine. I was the only customer, by the way; it wasn't a matter of time. I was really annoyed on the platform because they only poured a small cappuccino into my cup. A complete disappointment.

The food is the best McDonald's I've ever had. It's fresh and surprisingly refreshing. The beef has a beefy flavor, and the fries are very refreshing.

It's just a hindrance that every time you get there, a coupon at the checkout never works, why do such a promotion if not every branch sticks to it or there are always problems redeeming them. You sometimes want to save your money and take advantage of the offer and not drive to a different McDonald's every time or even go somewhere else, ultimately it will hurt you if you lose customers because you don't give the customer what you offer and on the other hand it is rip off for me. In the future I will no longer visit this McDonald's or spend my money there or anything like that, it's a waste of time and stupid if I want to take advantage of your offers during the break and can't because it's not possible in the branch and it's closer. I've just come back from the main station to Dammtor to ask why that doesn't work, there are three cashiers at the checkout, one customer is making the order while grinning together and one is talking to a customer in a foreign language even though you could serve the next customer if you were too third represents. So for me, such behavior is inappropriate and unprofessional in the workplace and doesn't belong, especially when you have the time to serve the next customer but are talking to someone else instead.

I was there at around 11:00 with my husband ordering something. The woman who took our order was so unfriendly, she didn't speak clearly, she didn't speak German very well, so I couldn't understand some of her, she complained to me because of that I didn't fully understand it

I have to comment on this company..: 1) As visitors, we wanted someone to communicate with us in English. The answer was that McDonald's is a German company and that we must know German! I asked for the manager to be called, and it turned out that the Turkish employees attacked us and threw us out of the fast food. One of the Turkish employees had a scarf behind his back! We were worried for our lives! I will request an increase in this event to the original McDonald's branch. If you don’t speak English or Turkish languages please move out from this branch…

As always, eat at McD. However, I received Cola instead of Fanta. Staff very unfriendly. The app is not recognized. Tables very dirty, it was not possible to get a cloth from the staff to wipe them. No toilets in the restaurant, only in the train station. This means there is no opportunity to wash your hands before eating.

Ultra slow. As a guest you have to pay extra for the toilet. If you politely ask where the burger is after 15 minutes of waiting, you will be attacked. By far the worst McD in the city - and the bar is not high... Update 2024: still ultra slow. Waiting in line for 20 minutes. Then to find out the Happy meal toys that were on display are no longer there.

Beware of fraud!!! If you get food to take away, check the store to see if everything is there. The following situation occurred for me today. I redeemed a double menu via the McDonalds app where I ordered a Coke, a Big Mac, a McChicken Classic and fries. When I arrived at the hotel I discovered that I had a Coke, a portion of fries and a Big Mac in my bag, even though I had paid the full price. To top it all off, of course, they didn't give me a receipt, which meant I couldn't even go back and say hey, there's a McChicken classic missing here. As I said, be careful!! This store will never see me again! Just anti-social.

I used to work at a McDonald's store and needed proof of my unemployment benefits. I was always being redirected from one place to another and no one could help me. It seemed like they didn't care. After calling again I was told that they don't issue a certificate if you have worked there for less than a month. Nevertheless, this is mandatory. After three months of back and forth, I finally solved it myself by filling out a form and submitting some evidence such as my employment contract, working hours and bank statements. Nevertheless, I had to live on my savings for three months because they refused to send such proof. As an employee you are valued and laughed at (hehe haha), but as soon as you are no longer employed there you are treated badly. Please do yourself a favor and never ask for proof hoping they will give it to you. It's better to ask the employment agency whether you can get a form to fill out and attach your evidence to it and send it off. Then you'll have it done in a week instead of waiting months for a response. This branch is hopeless.
