A seemingly clean McDonald's And the milkshake was good... just McDonald's But what's not possible is that you have to pay for the toilet, the lady doesn't speak a word of German and sticks her hand in the face of a penetrant... What's even worse is if even paying guests HAVE to pay for the toilet then please pay attention to the cleanliness and that the toilet paper is there.....

The employees inside are very sullen, the service is very bad. I asked for help, they rejected me with a very harsh and ugly attitude, I will not come here again and do not recommend them.

Super long wait, although not many orders

It is not pet-friendly nor do they have gluten-free bread. Furthermore, the place was not air-conditioned.

I've been to many McDonald's restaurants many times, but I've never experienced anything like that at a motorway rest stop where you have to pay for the toilet just because I couldn't show the collection slip or cash book. The company should come up with something. Many people don't even know this and simply pay. Does McDonalds need it so much and now even pay for toilets?

The cola was delicious with just the right amount of sugar and carbonation, and the chicken burger and nuggets were fresh and very hot and delicious. The part-time workers are also friendly.

Just your average McDonald's, although this time it funnily ruins the pictures people take of a historic site dating back to the tragedies of the Berlin wall - now with McDonald's in the background! Jokes aside, the food quality is on par with McDonald's standards, though a little slow. The toilets are not free, and even though we showed our receipt, the lady demanded us to list every single thing we ordered. After this she still wasn't that stoked to let us in...

Unfortunately, no matter when I eat here, the order is always incomplete. Every time I have to complain at least once. So service has already deteriorated significantly

So the food was really okay. But the woman in front of the toilet is the last thing. You are not allowed to charge money for going to the toilet. toilet fraud: the note says donation and the lady demands 50 cents, it says the toilet is included in the price and the lady takes the information about the toilet from the receipt and you can't enter a second time, not only do you have to pay, but there is no paper in the toilet and it is dirty. In itself it's a McDonald's, but you also have to pay to go to the toilet, even if you consume! A shame! It felt like a normal McDonald's. I stopped by for morning coffee around 9am. Since it was morning, there were almost no people inside, and the inside of the store was relatively clean. The coffee tasted like the usual McDonald's. There may also be several charging plugs depending on the seat.

Just nice McDonalds. Bonus is the terrace overlooking Checkpoint Charlie. And a free toilet upon presentation of a receipt for purchase at this location.

AN IMPUDENCE !!! I just bought cake from the MC Cafe for 10 euros, actually no problem Only my cake (both pieces) was intentionally packed backwards in the packaging by the extremely unfriendly service, so the whole cake stuck to the bag and I could pretty much throw both pieces in the trash... it was small, black hair and... only speaks English... that's really not possible...

I ate takeout McRib, which is not available in Korea. The inside of the store was a bit chaotic and hectic. The order coming out was very slow. McRibs taste like a bulgalbi burger.

Very poor quality/bland food compared to McDonalds in New Zealand. Also expensive for what it is. Gave it at least two stars because the restaurant itself is nice and the order came out quick. Honestly wouldn’t feed this to my dog though. Burger was difficult to finish but I don’t like to waste food.

Horrible woman manning the bathroom. I have a chronic illness and spent only 4 minutes (I checked) in a stall and she screamed at me and was very aggressive. Meanwhile there’s people coming in asking for money in a cup, maybe they should worry about that rather than someone using the bathroom.

Don’t grab takeout from here. Every other time they mess up the order. And then you get home to children’s tears because they don’t have the thing they had wanted.

We specially ordered a little something so that we could go to the toilet after reading that you can only go to the toilet with a receipt - which I can definitely understand in a tourist hotspot like Checkpoint Charlie. When we gave the woman in front of the toilet our receipt, only one of the two of us was allowed to go. The family of five who arrived shortly after us didn't even have their receipts checked and everyone was allowed to leave. Absolute impudence.

Wow. The cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Of course, thanks to Checkpoint Charly, there are a lot of tourists here. The store should only be able to cope with this volume. After all, McDonald's hasn't been here for just a week. 😔 Apart from that, even when the outside temperature is 32 degrees, I expect a really fresh milkshake that is slightly icy and not just cool, thick strawberry milk. I would have preferred to have the broth tested directly by the service staff. But this shouldn't happen even to the poor souls. I'm sorry, but the real best thing about this branch is the exit. And then never go back in. I like to go to McDonald's and alternatives every now and then. But I now give this one branch a wide berth. 👀

It's clean, but the staff (hardly speaking German, let alone understanding it) is completely overwhelmed, annoyed and apparently unable to work. For this location, a shame!

Easily the worst McDonald’s experience I’ve had in my life. First off receipt didn't print out of the machine and also didn’t tell me my order number leaving me forced to guess which order was mine. There was an enormous pile of burgers and fries all going stale with no-one packing them into meals. Waited 30 minutes for my food which was missing sauces. Burger was cold, fries were cold and stale, the only positive thing about my meal is that my drink was cold. Wouldn’t recommend!

This has to be the worst McDonald's in Germany... Waited 25 minutes for a burger. And then there was only half a slice of bacon on the “big tasty bacon”. Work ethic and organization are below average there... Never again!

It is difficult to find the famous German organization in this place. My order took a very long time to prepare, even considering the large number of customers. In addition, the order numbers were not displayed on the board and you had to listen to whether the man would shout your number or not. Personeel in de bediening is prima. Wachttijd was wel erg lang voor 1 flurry en 1 milkshake. Besteld via de app en table service, hierdoor geen bonnetje gekregen. Daar vond de toiletjuffrouw het hare van. Meteen een hele hoop gescheld en gedoe, geen woordje Engels ondanks een toeristisch gebied. Erg slecht.

The worst Mc Donald's I havs ever visited. There is no air condition, table are not clean, the order was waiting, but no notification on the screen. There is no suowrvision control. Poor hygiene attention - basic prevention rules should be standard. My daughter has stomach problems after meal she has eaten there.

They’re open until 4am, passed by at 2am after a party, found that they closed the door already, and I had to wait until someone leaves to open the door. That’s sneaky behavior from the management to push customers away.

Once again a McDonald’s in Berlin excels at being utterly rude and miserable. If you really want to experience the famous Berlin Schnauze attitude, look no further.

I ordered from MC today and had it delivered via Uber. Food was cold and 2 products were missing since McDonald's was called and shut down because the delivery service supposedly doesn't recognize this McDonald's as a restaurant, what nonsense, it's sad that McDonald's has to change so much. Just sad, but I will avoid this store in the future.

Usual stuff for mac d’s apart from the very very very grumpy and rude lady that guards the toilet with her life, and doesn’t say a word!! God forbid you turn up without a receipt or 50c ready to pay! There was little going on. The order didn't come complete... had to complain twice. An espresso took extra time. The icing on the cake was that you had to pay 50 cents per person to wash your hands. That is rather difficult.

Larger branch with ground and upper floors at Checkpoint Charlie. Lots of tourists. It took a while before I had my donut and cappuccino. Both components as a combo = €4.09. Much more expensive individually. It's best to refer to the McCafe combination, otherwise you might end up paying more. I found it very positive that an employee always cleared the tables of rubbish. The new breakfast is available from 7:00 a.m., with McFarner, mini pancakes, croissants... 👍

Busy, sometimes really busy, but the queue kept moving, the order was correct (and warm) and the assistant was friendly.

They took too long to give me my order. It seems like they need more workers as the amount of clients they have is too high. Workers were also really stressed.

I ordered a coffee which was nothing like the ones I had at the Netherlands. It was mostly foam. Then when I complained to the employee, he accused me that I drank it before complaining. After a short argument he called me the n word. As a black woman I was shocked to hear this in Berlin from a white guy who was probably German. Disgusting place, avoid at all costs!!!

Auf der Toilette wird man von einer Frau welche nicht im MC Donalds outfit ist unfreundlich begrüsst das man den Kassenzettel zeigen muss oder EUR 0.5 bezahlen. Für mich sieht das nach abzocke aus.

Wish I'd have read the reviews first. It is a very busy restaurant but food was ok despite the wait. On using the toilet facilities we were confronted with a sign which read 'charge €0.50'. There was no mention of requiring a receipt to use for free...just an angry woman demanding 50c. So all in all rather disappointing and a good trap for tourist overcharging. Can now see that this is a persistent problem and despite feedback saying that they'd look into it, it still happens...not great.

You stand for an hour or more for one thing, staff slow and rude.

A 20 minute wait for 2 chicken burgers is not uncommon at lunchtime. Bring a lot of patience. Not a fast food restaurant.

The slowest McDonald's in Berlin...

We were there on Thursday evening with a school class. After entering the order at a terminal for a long time, we were unable to complete the order. An employee helped us a lot, we were told to order everything again at the checkout and were given a discount for the inconvenience. It would be great if the terminals were programmed so that in the event of a crash you receive a receipt with a number and the order is saved on it. This means it can be accessed and edited again at the checkout

Paying €0.50 for toilet when I bought €10 euro for food. Then when I decided to write the review here I saw someone also paid and then McDonald reply that to show the receipt at the toilet counter. But first and for most, it doesn't have any signage to say that. Also the lady there never ask if I am a customer and show her receipt to get it. So management of this McDonald should do something instead of putting a lady there and never train to be more polite towards it's own customer. Understand this is to avoid some people to use toilet without buying food. But to be fair to restaurants customer, the lady just need to ask. If not staff at the Mcdonald counter should mention to customer to keep the receipt to go toilet. Or to put more signage to remind customer.

After visiting the checkpoint Charlie, we used the opportunity to relax at the mcDonalds next to it. This experience was terrible. First the login at the order didn’t work, so we placed the order without receiving bonus points. Later on, my son wanted to go to the restroom, were the lady was refusing the use, because he didn’t have enough change to pay for the rest room. The charge were 50ct. After complaining at the counter ( which were very unpolite) they told us, that my son can use the restroom with the receipt, no need to pay. So he did, but the lady kept the receipt that no one else could use it. That’s an experience I never had before at a restaurant. The servereigenen was unpolite, The food was also strange and not as usual.

I don't think there's much to say about the food and the prices, everyone knows them and they're always the same. This shop is relatively large and always clean.

Paying for the toilet in McDonald's!

0 stars. Unfortunately you have to give a point. At first I couldn't enter my code into the terminal. But then I ordered without receiving any points. After eating, my son wanted to go to the toilet, but the toilet lady sent him away because he didn't have any money with him. After complaining to management (no one at the counter spoke German), I was told that my son could use the toilet with a bon. He did this, but had to give it away so that no one else could use it. We (fortunately) didn't have to use them. An insolence that I have never experienced anywhere.

Homeless people are constantly coming in and rummaging through tray carts.

The food is not tasty, the self-service cash register didn't even give me a receipt. It tasted like rubber, overpriced. I don't recommend it

It can't be right when you get there and you can't order at any cash register and no cash is accepted and you also get a stupid answer from the shift manager. Great shop. Luckily there are tourists who don't care about the service Hello dear owner. I think it's great that you only respond to the positive reviews here but simply ignore the negative ones. That shows you how much you care about the opinions of your guests

I'm visiting beautiful Berlin and wanted to have a cold ice cream café today. I ordered at the self-service counter and went to the checkout to pay. The employee accidentally gave me the wrong receipt at first. Everything is fine, no problem can happen. I was waiting for my order. My order was supposedly ready to be picked up. When I asked in English where my order was, the employee said that the order was still being processed. ? I replied that the ad says my order is ready. She said I should wait. But then my pickup number disappeared. Very strange. I asked another employee if my order was still in progress because the number was no longer on hold, but then the ice cream went quickly. My frappe tasted not like coffee as usual, but like a vanilla milkshake. The Fanta I ordered was non-carbonated and the cookie was very dry. I ordered to take away, otherwise I would have complained about it on site. Sure, you get stressed sometimes when there's a lot going on, but there weren't that many orders going on at the time. The staff just seemed overwhelmed to me. Very unprofessional.

Bought a "Big tasty bacon burger" to bring back to the hotel... Open it up, take a bite... No burger. Just a saucy/salad bun with no meat :(

Unacceptable lady who guards the toilet. I bought a drink to use the restroom. I showed the lady the receipt, she let me in. After leaving the restroom, she made me pay, said that my receipt was no longer valid (?). I explained that I didn't understand what the situation was about, however, she didn't understand English. She took my receipt and threw it in the trash. For the sake of peace of mind I wanted to pay by card, she replied something I couldn’t understand. I felt humiliated. Such a situation should not happen in the 21st century.

Beware of the toilet scam, the lady at the entrance demands payment even though she writes "donation" which should be voluntary, in addition, if you buy something at the bottom of the receipt it is written that the toilet is included in the price and she continues to argue that you have to pay, pathetic.

The food is typical, but the issue of using the toilet is another matter. I am surprised that even though I placed the order and had a receipt confirming it, there was a lady standing next to the toilet charging a fee for using the toilet. Both on the receipt and on the board placed on the column in front of the toilet it was written to show the receipt. For me, it is logical that if I wanted to use the toilet just off the street, I should take into account the toilet fee, but not when I am a customer and just want to wash my hands before eating or just use the toilet. Of course, the lady didn't understand anything in English.

Everything was perfect to have 1 star. Burger was dry, fries were partly raw, cola was only half filled. If I were to work there, I would voluntarily quit because my work colleagues are too incompetent to do certain jobs.

I was a guest in the branch today. Was very grateful for the friendly and nice staff. Unfortunately, I see from previous reviews that the following two problems have been known for a long time, but nothing is being done. A) the screens don't work: if you order something via the terminal or the app, you don't see anything. In my case, a simple coffee order was simply forgotten. I'm surprised. A friendly employee then prepared them on the short official route at the McCafé. I was very happy about that. He was also very friendly and apologized and made this clear by giving me 2-3 extra chocolates. B) the staff at the toilet, in our case a woman in her fifties and sixties who speaks with an accent and has dark, short hair, was not service and guest-oriented at all: I was a supervisor with a group of young people on site. Luckily I was able to show on my app that I had paid and had an order pending. She was very, very meticulous and precise. I had to show exactly when I placed the order and whether it was actually the store. She then even started swiping around on my McDonald’s app. After I said in words that they are children and they belong to me and the rest of my class shops downstairs and certainly not everyone has to go to the toilet and that they could use the toilet for free, she said no. We had a short conversation, where I remained friendly, but she kept repeating the same thing, everyone has to pay. Regardless of whether you are a child or not. Maybe, according to her, she would have made an exception for a seven-year-old. But not with a 13 and 14 year old teenager. Finally, another older guest put a euro in the bowl and said it as he walked past. I'll help pay for the boy. My students were then able to go to the toilet free of charge. My tip: be sure to come with a receipt, or go back afterwards and ask for the money back. You should only go to the toilet if you have a receipt. No exceptions will be made. Personally, I found the entire guest experience very sad since the branch is aware of the problems.

I ordered something to take away and didn't get my trash bag. Only noticed it at home. I'm very disappointed :(

The fries weren’t that bad but the caffe was the worst I’ve ever had.

It is located in a good location. It has places on the ground floor and on the first floor there is also a terrace where the famous checkpoint is visible. It's never too crowded and the service is fast. In summary, it's also WORTH it for a short stop since there are also tables outside the restaurant

The worst McDonald's we have visited. McSunday was obnoxious and very quick to melt. We waited over 20 minutes for our order and the service looked like something from a slow motion movie. Tasteless coffee was given to us after another 10 minutes at another window. The lady in the toilets was also very unpleasant to the point of being aggressive.
