When there are a lot of orders, the staff gets stressed. That was the last time I'll be here. They have to make sure they hand out the food correctly and don't forget anything.

Terrible service; even though you're a customer and have bought food, you're expected to pay to use the toilet. Absolutely outrageous.

Too little space, too many people

I really love this McDonald's. The burgers are especially delicious, and my order is usually ready in under five minutes. The staff is very friendly and respectful. Another thing I've noticed is that even when using a promo code, the portion sizes aren't reduced. With other chains, you often get smaller burgers during promotions, but that never happens at McDonald's. I'm extremely happy with this location and love coming here. Compared to other McDonald's locations, this one is significantly better.

Today I witnessed an extremely strange situation. A woman approached the staff whose things had disappeared during the order, she asked for help from the staff, to which he simply shrugged his shoulders and replied - "You should watch your things, we are not the police." Yes, the situation is not pleasant, and what I am giving 1 star for is that when the woman left the cash register, their problem was loudly ridiculed in front of the customers. Whatever the situation, or the person - it is not worth such public ridicule! I will not go to this establishment again, the food was delicious.

We wanted to have a relaxing meal, but the cleaning lady in the restroom had loud music playing and was singing along, and she snapped at a customer who asked for tissues because he'd spilled his drink. It was very disruptive.

That place was absolutely disgusting! The floor had been mopped and was incredibly sticky afterwards! The food was cold and just looked like it had been thrown there! That was my first and last time there.

Not really suitable for people with physical disabilities! There are hardly any seats downstairs, and the elevator can only be used with a key. When asked, the female staff member (a woman with loose (!) long, black hair) was annoyed and simply replied with a curt, unfriendly "Broken!" The male staff member didn't respond. However, at this point, I wonder how the trolleys with the trays get down from the upper floor... In addition, the tables and seats were very dirty, and some parts of the floor were sticky. I've been to McDonald's several times in major cities (Hamburg, Munich, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Mannheim...), but I've never experienced such an unfriendly atmosphere, such an unsuitable environment for people with physical disabilities, and also such a dirty environment. First time there and definitely never again. A place like that ruins the whole reputation!

I waited too long to be served. I was the only one in line, but the cashier simply didn't come to take my order. They saw me, but they didn't come to the checkout for a long time. It was just terrible. The coffee is disgusting; I ordered a coffee with milk, but it was bitter as garbage. They also no longer give you numbers to get your order; they simply abolished them. I can't recommend it.

Such disrespectful employees, I have never seen a lady in a restaurant who acts like a boss, she belongs in the trash!

This McDonald's is always overcrowded and sometimes there are people sitting there who don't order anything but the employees don't do anything about it. No wonder there are no seats. If I order then I want to sit down.

The filthiest McDonald's I've ever been to. The staff is extremely bored and unfriendly. The wait for the "fast" food takes forever. The seating is in poor condition, if not already dirty from the previous customer. One can only hope the kitchen is more hygienic.

Everything was fine. Self-service and a number for delivery to the table. Baearo order. Only the bathrooms, where there's a long wait and they're for one person. So there's a long wait depending on the time.

On the positive side, I have to say that the food has improved. When you order something, it's freshly prepared. That wasn't always the case. The staff is always friendly and courteous. What bothers me is that when you go to the restroom, there are often junkies using something. I'm just being honest.

I wish an administrator or the store manager would read this comment. Unfortunately, this store often forgets something when ordering takeout. Once, I was even given a half-eaten nugget and wrapped it up. The food is often prepared very carelessly—everything falls apart or is poorly packaged. We like going to McPrünte branches because you know the service will be good. Today was unfortunately disappointing. Even though it was quiet, things were forgotten. The child's Happy Meal was missing mayo with the fries, and the gift was also forgotten. The caramel flavor was forgotten in my wife's caramel macchiato. Furthermore, the upstairs area looked very unkempt today. Even though it was quiet, as mentioned, the trash was piled high and the tables were dirty.

A store that rips off customers. There are currently games available in happy meal. Every other branch manages to remove the unavailable ones from the system, except this one. Unfortunately, I received an incorrect expired McFlurry, which an employee did not want to exchange or correct.

There were problems when paying and when we got home we noticed that the sauces we ordered were missing. We had to go back to get them. The staff was rude and took our receipt without explanation. The €0.50 coupon I received didn't work - due to technical problems, according to staff. Overall very disappointing.

Review of a visit to McDonald's on Kettwiger Straße in Essen I visited this McDonald's branch today and unfortunately I was very disappointed with the service. The main reason was the absolutely unfriendly and dismissive behavior of the employees, especially those who hand out the orders. It seemed like they weren't serving people, but rather someone who was bothering them. I had ordered a Happy Meal for my child, but it was handed over in a disastrous condition: the box was open, the fries were upside down and their grease had smeared the entire contents of the box. Even the toy intended for a child was completely greasy. The ice cream and juice were simply placed next to it, without a bag or other packaging. Even though the restaurant was almost empty, I had to wait about 7 minutes for my order - and that was just one Happy Meal. A very unpleasant experience, absolutely not up to the standard you would expect from McDonald's. I definitely cannot recommend this branch. I hope that management becomes aware of the service quality and takes appropriate action.

Yes definitely. It's clean, and delicious. The toilets are also, very good. The best place to sit is upstairs. Lots going on. The carts are cleaned regularly so that you can always take away tablets. The staff is super nice, nothing to complain about. The children's corner upstairs is great. The little ones can really let off steam there. There is also an elevator. I think it's great, for wheelchair users, and a toilet too. I can recommend it very well. Always my pleasure.

Very good pickup, but very bad seating situation

Visit on February 28, 2025 (around 7 p.m.) After a few minutes, the staff said the order was ready to be picked up - but it wasn't. I don't understand why they do this too early because it causes the number to disappear from the screen, which is just confusing. The half-packaged order then sat on the counter at the front for another 10 minutes to cool down, so unfortunately my food was already cold. In addition, the burgers were mixed up and the gentleman with the glasses, instead of just looking inside, started rummaging around in the bags again - you lose your appetite just looking at them. But they just said that's how they always do it. 😆 And the blonde lady should have lost her job long ago for saying things to customers like: “Can’t you count?” or “Okay, then just go.”

Just ordered a big morning egg sandwich, but only got a to go regular egg McMuffin, which is cheaper and I just had one ten minutes earlier. Really annoying. Please teach your chef

I am very disappointed with my last visit to McDonald's. Unfortunately I had a problem because the device I ordered was defective. When I asked for help, the two employees just laughed, were rude and said they couldn't do anything. To my annoyance, the points I had collected with my app had simply disappeared. When I asked to speak to a manager it was ignored - no one came to help me. I wouldn't have expected such behavior at McDonald's. I hope you take this incident seriously and take steps to avoid similar experiences in the future.

A prime location in the heart of Essen

Ordering with the app and at the order terminal was a bit tricky and I had to do it three times, probably because I was just too stupid for it. But it worked. The food was ready quickly and looked appetizing too. Was very tasty! Older staff at the checkout are warm and nice, very commendable. The ambience was ok, but unfortunately the other customers were less so. Lots of loud, disrespectful, young customers. There was also a conspicuous guy who told everyone out loud about his financial problems and his drug past without being asked, not unfriendly, but do you want that as a guest? Well, it just has a big city feel. I wouldn't go here late at night...

Here is a possible review: --- It was ok, but a bit unusual: I didn't get a straw for my cola as they apparently only serve milkshakes with it. I think it's a shame because it makes drinking from the cup less pleasant. A small service detail that could certainly be improved. Maybe a cost-cutting measure, but there should be a straw in it. Unbelievably disgusting!! I felt sick and couldn't eat. Over 10,- thrown out the window! I have never seen anything like this anywhere in Germany, like here on Kettwiger Str., near Marktkirche. And if you're thirsty and just want to drink water, you have to pay €4!!! pay! €4 for water from a plastic bottle, for which I pay 15 cents at a discount store. I'm currently in the process of addressing these grievances with a TV station to show people what it really looks like.

Super tasty. The food was fresh and hot, the drinks were quite carbonated and it was clean. There's nothing to complain about. A branch in Hamburg can take a leaf out of this.

Every time I have an appointment in the city, I eat there. So far I haven't had anything to complain about there. On June 13th, 24 I ate a double cheeseburger there. It was really tasty. Unfortunately, I didn't immediately find the Happy Milkshake Vanilla in the terminal, because it's just called Milkshake. The staff has always been friendly so far.

The service was fine. The food was dry and cold unfortunately. Unfortunately, the plant nuggest didn't taste good at all. The floor of the upper floor was so sticky everywhere that it was uncomfortable to walk on. Pretty disgusting.

The service is terrible. We came with the children and heard a lot of negative things: we had to check the order and ask for a drink. They didn't put toys in the Happy Meal, didn't give napkins, and the tables were dirty. The staff seem to be waiting for customers to leave so they can go home quicker. There are set opening times when visitors come!!

The store doesn't work at all. First you get a McFlurry in a 0.25l drinking cup instead of the normal cup without comment, then you are immediately "chased out" from the upper floor. Downstairs, homeless people regularly run to the tray boxes and rummage around for leftover food, and guests are also begged. Finally, more than half an hour before closing time, the young employee asked me to get up if I didn't order anything else because she wanted to put the chairs on the tables. THIS is not how you treat paying customers! In any case, I won't be visiting the restaurant again in the future.

Nice MC Donald's branch located in the middle of the city of Essen. I got a Royal TS with double beef patti instead of the Big Mac I ordered, but it was super tasty 😋. Now I have a new favorite 🍔 burger.
