Very friendly service. Somewhat older equipment without a self-service terminal.

Even after several minutes, the staff doesn't deem it necessary to serve the customer. A woman types something into the till from a receipt and ignores the customer, directing them to the next till where no one is. In the background, there are more people in the kitchen than there are guests in the restaurant – but no one is serving at the counter.

If I were to visit a chain restaurant, I would usually lower my expectations drastically. Even after the shocking "RTL documentary," I still mustered the courage to continue visiting Burger King. I don't expect Michelin-starred cuisine, a gleaming tabletop, or friendly service. Despite this, even these minimal expectations were undercut. Cleanliness was nonexistent. What was particularly infuriating was the realization that our burgers had apparently been sitting in the display case for hours. They were not only cold but also partially rock hard. Even the cheese had changed color around the edges. A quality control check by the franchisor is long overdue!

The location is good with a nice terrace, but the staff are simply unfriendly. Furthermore, the place is dirty and the food is kept warm for a long time before being served.

Unfortunately, it was very dirty. There was hardly anyone there, yet the trash hadn't been taken away. Many tables hadn't been wiped down and were dirty. The floor was sticky. I won't be coming here again.

The toilets are always very dirty.

I think it's the worst branch in Essen and the surrounding area. The place was relatively empty, so there were plenty of free tables. However, it was still very difficult to find a seat because all the tables were greasy and dirty. Ordering was also difficult, as the employee spoke very broken German and no English at all. The food was cold, and the nuggets tasted like cardboard. Almost €33 for two people was a complete waste of money. Before I wanted to leave, I went to the restroom. I even held it in. I have no idea how the place stays in business; it's a complete pigsty! When I got home, the "good" food kept running through my mind! I'm going back soon to take photos and send them to the authorities. It's unacceptable!

Food was taken incorrectly despite multiple reminders, but there seems to be a language barrier. The toilets are in a terrible state; the door is half-broken in its hinges.

Speechless. The staff is a disaster. We ordered food for three people, and one person was still waiting 20 minutes after the others had received theirs. By the time you can even order, you could walk from here to Karnap and get your food faster. And then, when you finally get the food, it's as cold as if it were straight from the fridge. Seriously, the service is catastrophic; I'm speechless, and this wasn't the first time.

It took a very long time. There were too few staff members, and those who were there were extremely unmotivated. They didn't even understand our order properly; for example, it wasn't packed for takeout. Furthermore, there was no toy for the kids' meal, which wasn't mentioned anywhere in the store and wasn't clearly communicated by the staff. There was no compensation, discount, or even an apology for the missing toy. For a child, a toy like that is a pretty crucial factor. The restrooms are dirty, not all of them have toilet paper, and there's no soap. Absolutely unacceptable! Deplorable. Burger King, yes, but definitely not this branch!!

On a Saturday evening, the store was packed, only one checkout was open. Everyone was overwhelmed. Long waits, employees in civilian clothes, dirty toilets.

The staff were incredibly rude, and the food was disgustingly cold and tasted like... and how could they possibly order something like that? Anyway, I definitely won't be coming back.

Dirty men's restroom with doors that haven't locked for months and a hand dryer that's very difficult to start, then stops working after a few seconds and won't restart. Around 4:15 p.m., an employee prepares and prepares food in the back and takes orders and cashes in the front – at a moderate pace, of course. So, absolutely no fast-food restaurant. Even retirees with plenty of time are more likely to starve. Now I'm annoyed that I didn't take any pictures.

I ordered through Uber Eats and instead of a vegetarian burger, I received a completely different one with meat. A refund won't help. Burger King doesn't pay attention to your order details, and the delivery driver doesn't check their orders. No one even answers the phone to clarify things in person! This is the last place I'll ever order or eat!

Very friendly and helpful in their advice. 🫣 Restrooms could have been a bit cleaner. However, I can only speak for the women's restroom, and, at least from what I could see, there were only male employees present. So it might not be so easy to check the women's restroom every now and then 😉

Pathetic. In 2025, there are still no ordering kiosks. They don't even have a QR scanner at the checkout. Accordingly, it takes a while.

A classic Burger King with the standard menu. With a large parking lot and drive-thru. Conveniently located on a major highway. Next door is a gas station, a Media Markt, and a hardware store.

Everything is freshly prepared, the burgers and fries were delicious. The Coke tasted like water because it had so many ice cubes in it.

-Coke served without a straw. -Although we were asked for ketchup twice, we got ketchup once and mayo once. -Two small, wafer-thin napkins. -The fries were way too hot because they were drowned by the oil. -The employees are just smoking. -It's completely empty because they don't know how to keep customers happy. Don't go there. -Too expensive. You pay almost €25 for a Big King and Long Chicken meal!! A complete disaster, even though they're not stressed at all.

The wait time was okay. The staff could barely speak German. The fries were already cold. The nuggets also tasted strange.

We've been disappointed by this store repeatedly in the past. Yesterday, after a break of several years, we decided to give it another chance. And what can I say? We were disappointed again. The burgers were lukewarm and tasted vaguely moldy. We couldn't see anything, but both had the same impression and taste. The chili nuggets weren't just double-fried, they looked like they were at least several hours old. The food was unfortunately inedible. Overall, the store gives off a shabby impression. We probably won't try it again. It's a shame! It seems as if the employees are selling substandard goods. Although the employees are certainly not the problem in this system.

On Friday, August 1, 2025, I thought to myself: "Come on, there's a traffic jam, I'll treat myself to a couple of burgers." A car in front of me was already at the checkout. I waited patiently for someone to answer the order point. After about 1-2 minutes, nothing. I called "Hello" into the microphone and then "Hello" again, but nothing. After another minute, a slightly louder "Hello." An annoyed voice answered: "We're busy in there too, just a moment." I simply drove up to see what was going on. The car in front of me didn't have its order complete. Bags were swapped around until, after a few minutes, everything was OK. The employee looked at me questioningly. All I can say is, "very poor performance, very poor." I also saw two customers standing in the store. So, what he told me earlier was simply a lie. So whoever's the owner here shouldn't be worried about sales. Because they're simply not making any. I haven't encountered such seriousness and indifference in a long time. Perhaps they could pass it on to the staff via a percentage of the sales revenue. But hey, the motivation at this place was almost ZERO.

Got wrong item ( cheaper) We ordered first time with Wolt app. The delivery was in time, fine. Paid with tips 25 euro. But when received our order saw that instead of Tortilla Beef for 8 Euro, we got simple Chilli Cheese Burger (((( We wish packing team was more carful. Not nice feeling, rest was ok.

We waited 30 minutes for our food at various locations on Gladbeckerstrasse... the chili cheese nuggets were from the day before, just thrown in the fryer again. No apology or compensation for the long wait, and the store was barely busy.

There is no ordering machine in the store!

Unfortunately, I can't rate the food or the ambiance, but I can rate the service. I used the drive-thru and had to wait about eight minutes, and then after ordering, nearly 20 minutes before anyone even came to order, let alone take the payment. Then there was also something wrong with the order, and when I placed the order, I didn't even get a hello, and when I left, I didn't even get a goodbye. Absolutely disgusting and not recommended unless you don't mind waiting a long time and being treated rudely.

Considering the place wasn't crowded and not busy, the tables were very dirty. A lot of things were still lying around. Even after 30 minutes, the tablet with trash was still on the table. Unfortunately, as expected, the restrooms weren't clean either.

For the second time now, I've gotten a cold burger. The tables aren't cleaned. The tray return is completely full. The restrooms aren't exactly great either. And that's despite there being very little to do. 10 guests in the restaurant. And after complaining about the burger, there was no apology, just, you can eat there now. We went to Burger King today (June 8, 2025)! It's not fast! The burgers were only lukewarm, and we had to wait forever.

Unfortunately, this is the last Burger King I'll ever go to in Essen. And also the last time ever! Reason? I ordered two burgers and fries to go, waited a full 25 minutes for them even though the place was practically empty. The waitress preferred chatting with his "brother" to serving me. Then they served me the wrong burgers, and the fries arrived late, already cold, and were handed to me like that... When I wanted to return the burgers, he got cheeky and claimed I had ordered the wrong thing, not him doing the wrong thing. oO How bold is that? Apart from the bad German, to be cheeky too, that's not customer service, that's outrageous! Never again for me, and my community will also avoid the place! Too bad, Burger King, you used to be great, but it was a long time ago.

Delivery was a complete failure. I waited over an hour with no information or anything else. Phone availability was virtually nonexistent. I can't recommend it and will never use it again.

Unsympathetic workers, always food is not fresh and the delivery service is rubbish. I ordered a children's box meal for my son, waited for 2 hours and didn't receive it. Even one star is too flattering for this restaurant. I ordered via delivery service and, in short, nothing was right. 1. I received a completely bad burger. The lettuce on the burger was anything but lettuce. It was completely shrunken, soggy, and barely had any color left (I suspect the lettuce had been sitting around for ages). Furthermore, the chicken patty on the burger was absolutely stringy and barely edible. 2. The delivery person didn't have a thermal box or something similar to keep the food warm, so the food was ice cold. Cold, dried-out fries and cold meat on the burger. This was my first and last time eating there. I've never had such a bad food order to date. I can only recommend ordering from another Burger King or McDonald's.

Staff seem to have little interest in satisfying the customer, delays are blamed on the delivery service. Orders are unfinished or prepared completely incorrectly. The blame always lies with others. All in all, the store is pretty good, or what you would expect from a fast food chain, provided you go there yourself and check your order. You don't need to call, no one will answer anyway.

Poor service Card payment doesn't work. I was asked twice from the table with my food to checkout and show that the money had been debited. No self-service checkouts.

Food was okay, but instead of peach iced tea, we were given the lemon variety. Even when we complained to customer service, nothing was done. After all, we should have checked it straight away, which we did, but the driver left so quickly and was able to dispose of his garbage in the stairwell on his way to the front door.

Long waiting times in the drive as the only customer on Sunday lunchtime

Ordered 2x Plant-Based Mystery Burgers, but received 2x the normal burger, which was already ready on the shelf. Apparently the error could no longer be corrected. I went home hungry because, as a vegetarian for years, I can no longer tolerate meat. I also ordered 2x large fries, but got 2x regular. They don't seem to be able to take orders correctly and there is no self-service terminal. So avoid this shop.

Just picked up a long chicken to take home. And the surprise at home..... Neither the cheese (which costs one euro!!!) that I paid extra for was on it.....but the best thing is that there wasn't even any sauce on it!... How can you be so stupid?! Incredible! Never again BK Gladbecker Str ❗❗

Parking lot empty. Should have been a warning. Fries tasted old. Extremely old. And the order came so quickly in a fast food restaurant... The burgers couldn't have been fresh. They looked old too. After all the scandals I thought that Burger King couldn't afford something like that anymore. Ambience everything broken and in need of renovation. Never again. Our hunger only drove it in. And 2 menus 23 euros. impudence. Today we got the receipt. Loo. So never again.

I used to like eating there. The hygiene has drastically decreased and the last time I was there I couldn't believe it. My cup that my drink was in had a dried imprint inside the cup. Since my drink wasn't filled to the brim, it can only mean that this cup was reused. You can tell by the straws that are missing or other things that are constantly missing. You skimp on hygiene and do something disgusting. I'll never eat with you again! Actually been a big Burger King fan...

Very long waiting time at drive in Never again

There was a smell of old frying grease in the parking lot. The staff was then slightly overwhelmed. There were enough employees present, but opening a cash register was apparently enough. Instead, someone else stands behind the closed cash register and attacks his colleague, who is already rotating violently. The result was therefore not tasty. On top of that, the onion rings were missing, my mistake, I didn't check everything right away, but only at home. The whole concept is not for me. There's a card in the chip shop that you can stare at for hours and choose something. The image on the monitors at BK feels like it changes every 2 seconds and I don't know what was on display. Just hectic, annoying and fidgety. Overall, the atmosphere is such that I don't stay there longer than absolutely necessary.

I just received my order and I'm really disappointed, I ordered fries 4 times, but the portions are funny, and only 2 packages. If you come to pick it up yourself or eat there, everything is fine, but ordering doesn't work well.

Our burgers came from the kitchen already cold. When I wanted to complain about the Whopper, they asked me to quickly warm it up at the back. But it was then replaced with a “fresh” one that was slightly warmer. At least the fries and lattice potatoes were warm.

Absolutely unclean. Toys are in the box from months ago... covered in centimeter-high dust... 10 employees but tables look like shit... The whole thing looks totally tattered.. The electrics outside are broken. Etc... Everything looks unhygienic. It's a shame...I wonder why you open a Burger King if you don't feel like it at the end and let everything get deeper

The worst Burger King I've ever been to! In the evening, all outdoor signs are off. I didn't even notice the store from the outside. The store looks closed! The staff consisted of 2 people. One in the kitchen and one at the counter. Unfortunately, the order was only partially fulfilled satisfactorily. Something was missing from all orders and also something missing from the children's drinks, chips and toys. Order contents were misunderstood and processed incorrectly. All the burger buns were hard as a rock and not as good as usual at other Burger Kings. The meat was also tasty on the grill for days! Lattice fries were only half filled with terrible lattice fries and then, as a highlight, half filled with normal fries. Loveless event and unfortunately absolutely not recommended! I would actually like my money back for this strange waste of time that required delayed eating! I don't normally write comments like this, but this was really the highlight of today!

No online ordering possible. Not the entire scope available. I heard about the tortillas on TV and in the app and wanted to try them. Unfortunately it doesn't exist there. It's a small, scaled-down version of Burger King and unfortunately not a particularly good one.

I was there 15 minutes before 12 and waited until I could order. When it was my turn, the unfriendly employee said that the shop was closed and that no more food was being sold. Why do you wait there for more than 10 minutes? The store and its employees are simply incompetent. You should close the place immediately.

Recessions of others are understandable. Burger cold, among other things, wrong burger even though we gave coupons, fries cold. Staff overwhelmed as soon as four customers are in the store, one of them doesn't know what the other is doing. Quick money for a meal that you'll want to slam back onto the counter. The burgers and the dishes somehow tasted like old cardboard, and the tomato, cucumber and everything else had a very poor taste. So BURGER KING is not what it used to be. I give it a full 10 (minus) stars. It's better to give it a wide berth and get a pizza or go out for a chic meal.
