Burger King in Essen

It's Burger King, plain and simple. Chilli cheese fries and long chicken with cheese. Always a good option when you don't have time to make your own burger!

There was a contaminant in the Whopper bun (the foreign object looked like cigarette ash). When I pointed this out to the staff, I was told it was residue from the meat fryer. They said more attention should be paid to cleanliness and the burger preparation process. They neither apologized nor replaced the burger.

The food here was of standard quality, however the staff didn't seem very competent, as they struggled with simply calling out order numbers... Not to mention the toilets, which were extremely dirty (filth on the toilet seat and partly on the walls). I would recommend using a different establishment for toilet facilities.

The food arrived quickly, the staff were friendly and humorous, and I was satisfied.

We were a large group, but they refused to open the upper floor for us despite there being 20 of us, saying "it's been closed upstairs since Covid and we'll reopen it until we get more information." Pointless, and a shame. It was full, there are tables and chairs upstairs... Just remove the chain?

Definitely the worst Burger King in all of Germany!! The staff is incompetent enough to process an order correctly. Orders take over 20 minutes to arrive, drinks ordered on-site aren't available, and the staff doesn't even know they're there! And when the order finally arrives after 20 minutes, fries and other items are missing. If you can't even manage to place an order at Burger King, you might as well stay home. This place has nothing to do with fast food! The staff is completely overwhelmed! Never again!

Understaffed, the staff gets two out of three orders wrong. Something is always missing from the order, and on top of that, the burgers sometimes sit around for 10-15 minutes before you get your order.

The prices aren't displayed directly on the vending machine, which is very frustrating. You only see the price after making your final selection. This is a clear sales strategy and misleading user design.

Many people stand on the counter and throw spit on food prior to delivery. Not hygienic.

Burger King doesn't make the best impression on me. I don't like going there, especially late at night. You can easily wait 15 to 20 minutes for your order, even though it doesn't seem to be busy. More than once, the employee taking the order at the drive-thru was barely understandable due to their lack of language skills. A nasty experience for both parties. We tried delivery once and had to wait an hour for cold food; we definitely won't do that again. The overall price/performance ratio isn't good in my opinion.

Just usual Burger King experience

The place is disgusting, dirty and filthy glass walls, dirty floor, tables and toilets, just eaten there, fries were cold, burgers were lukewarm, not recommended!!!

My visit to this branch wasn't even possible that day because the employees at the drive-thru were so incompetent. This wasn't a one-time mistake; almost every visit to Burger King is like this. I wanted to order the King of the Month FROM THE POSTER (Chicken Chili Cheese), which is why I stopped there in the first place. The only response I got was "from today on only Chicken Garlic." When I pointed out there was a huge sign, they replied "only Chicken Garlic." Slightly annoyed, I said OK, I'll take that... Nothing happened for a minute, then the lady asked, "HELLO??? AND??" Since this is what almost all my visits to Burger King look like these days, I was annoyed and left without ordering. Truly unbelievable. The big M has an app where I can order AND see the prices, so I don't have to argue with employees I can barely understand. The big M is years ahead of them; unfortunately, this will be my last attempt to order there for a long time.

Not recommended. Ordered a double Whopper without a pickle, and everything was wrong. Forgot the mayonnaise, burger with pickles, fries in the wrong bag (fell out). Coke was warm. It took 20 minutes to make a burger, the salad was already old. The burger meat was like leather. And a pigeon flew around the restaurant for 10 minutes without anyone doing anything. The pigeon even ran into the kitchen!

Far too slow. Not enough staff. No paper in the ticket machine. I had to leave without my food due to time constraints. I had paid, of course. Very annoying. Has nothing to do with "fast" food.

Things have improved a lot. Everything is served warm, and the quality has improved significantly. The store also seems tidier, and the staff more engaging. Unfortunately, the upper floor has remained closed for years.

My wife and I ordered the Big King XXL. Our burgers sat on the shelf for 15 minutes. The fries were ready 15 minutes after they were prepared. We had cold burgers and hot fries. I don't think we would have gotten them so cold if we'd ordered from home.

When you wait fifteen minutes for ready food that's been sitting around for a while, the result can't be good. Bottom line: This was our last visit to Burger King. Never again i odered a menu and some extra chicken nuggets and the order came missing the chicken nuggets the food was cold and soggy i called to let them know my order was missing something they said they were going to deliver and it never came i tried calling again and noone answers.

I ordered through the app, and no fries came with it. I've called them several times to clarify, but they don't answer.

What can I say? Just a BK, like all BKs. The burgers are OK, but the service was extremely slow this time; only one lady was working all the counters and one person in the kitchen. It took a really long time. For me, the ambiance of all BKs is outdated and needs a refresh.

It was very dirty. The tables weren't wiped down, and the floor was dirty. Even though it was late, the restaurant should have been kept at a certain level of cleanliness.

The restaurant is a dream of ripped seat cushions and greasy tables; the upper floor is closed in ages, and the wait time is usually longer than average. You could eat off the floor, not because it's that clean, but at least there's enough food lying around.

The burger was almost as usual, except the pickles were more acidic than usual. The service? Preparation took too long, even though only one order had been "in preparation" before.

Worst Burger King location I know. Food is inedible, employees aren't properly trained. The place is dirty, and various products are constantly out of stock. The restrooms are in disrepair. Worst Burger King Visit – Never Again I just had by far my worst experience at Burger King, and that only applies to this branch. I've never encountered such a miserable experience. Then the real madness began: My girlfriend and I waited at the window for almost 30 minutes without any response or explanation. Just two small plant-based burgers. One of them was paid for using the Burger King loyalty points promotion, so a total of only €2.90, which was still too much for nothing. Conclusion: This branch failed completely; never again. Our trust in this Burger King location has been completely destroyed.

Slowest BK I've ever been to. Waited 25 minutes for our order. Special requests for burgers (ordered without onions or extra sauce at the terminal) were ignored. Out of 5 burgers, 4 were wrong. One burger (without tomatoes) had tomatoes on it, but after the complaint it was simply repackaged again with more rocket so that it wasn't noticeable. Vegetarian cheeseburgers should have extra ketchup and mustard on them. There was none of the sauce on it at all. An extra mozzarella patty was ordered for another burger. That was missing and was added as a “shoe sole”. Of course the burgers were already cold in the meantime. This Burger King will not be approached again.

Unfortunately, orders always take an extremely long time. Apparently it is not pre-produced. It seems that either there are always too few staff planned or shift managers are not qualified to plan sensibly depending on the situation or to hold the staff accountable for working properly.
