Nice restaurant in a great location with a view of the Moselle - super nice staff and food at prices that you wouldn't expect in this location! Two thick slices of spit roast with onion sauce and röggelchen for 11.50 euros...where else can you get something like that? Therefore: recommendation and gladly again…

Nice place, the schnitzel is delicious. The menu of the day was very very greasy, the potatoes were full of oil. Good service and prices 👍.

Very good service and super friendly staffs. Outdoor seating is nice and chill with river view. But unfortunately we are not very happy with our food. We ordered two schnitzel, both are very greasy that you can still see a thick layer of oil floating on the meat, in general I don’t like it and not even say under 37degree weather. The mushroom sauce has zero taste apart from salty and the pepper sauce is very average. The starter and the Wurst Salat are alright.

The food here is really very tasty! Down-to-earth without a lot of frills, what they do here they do well. Prices are also completely fair here! The two of us paid two beers and a meal for 50 euros without a tip. Particularly noteworthy is the incredibly good service. Both the waiter and the waitress were exceptionally friendly despite the busyness...we weren't used to that anymore. We'd love to come back again :)

...why can't things get better? The fries weren't crispy, just soggy, and the currywurst was unfortunately swimming in a sauce that was just too acidic. The skin of the sausage, soft - like it was boiled and not fried - it really wasn't good. Please revise the recipe. We were offered a new preparation, which we declined - it would have taken time again... we just want to eat something without ever having to complain - it's just annoying. The Aperol spritz was not ice-cold and was too thin, the beer was fine. The service is polite, nice and open-minded. The restaurant is fine for tourists who rarely come back - but for Koblenz residents? At most, a beer! It's a shame, it could be so easy...

The food here is great. Had the goulash and the potatoes soup along with the wurscth (kind of a gourmet curry wurst). My wife had the pork neck as they were out of the swinehax which we were hoping for. While to food was great we were surprise that with a reservation they had not saved us a table and asked us to join a community table. Nothing against sharing the space but thins was a special dinner for my wife and I. The staff seemed surprised that we expected our own little two seat table. Over all good great service… not horrible but has room for improvement.

Although there weren’t enough space outside, the waiter suggested for us to wait for about 10 min. We went for a little walk and came back and a table was reserved for us. The food was delicious, surroundings is calm and pleasant. Recommended.

Went here for dinner yesterday. Luckily we had reserved the table because it was full. The service was super friendly and nice, and she came by again in the middle and asked if everything was OK. Doesn't happen everywhere. The food is German home cooking and was very tasty. The prices were reasonable! The location of the restaurant is perfect, directly on the Moselle tributary in the Rhine. We'd love to come back.

We ended up here by chance and had a lovely relaxing time. The service was super friendly and very prompt, which is what we liked best. When it suddenly started to rain, we moved to another table very easily and then met a very interesting person. The food came quickly and was good. The view of the currently very high and fast Moselle is also very good. And liked it and we would come back

What a great place. Across from the river with indoor and outdoor seating. Staff (and other patrons) were exceptionally kind helping us understand what we were ordering, sharing beer choices, etc. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the Butcher Rissole with mushroom cream gravy worthy of a 5 star restaurant. Portions were generous so plenty to share and no one will go away hungry. Their dark beers were delicious and a nice change from the traditional lagers and wheat beers that had been served at other establishments. Good prices.

5 stars are really appropriate here! - good food at fair prices, - shady, well-kept terrace - and professional service like I haven't experienced in a long time: friendly, very attentive, authentic... If Rhineland-Palatinate were to choose the waiter of the year, the man would immediately get my vote!

Also ich weiß ja nicht was hier alles so hohe Bewertungen geben aber für uns war das essen ein Reinfall. Schnitzel mit „Zwiebelsauce“ war total überladen mit sehr grobgeschnittenen Zwiebeln. War dann im Endeffekt ziemlich matschig. Der Spießbraten kam mit einer Bratensauce die flüssig wie Wasser war. Dafür war der Braten an sich viel zu lang gegart. Die extra bestellten Bratkartoffeln mit Speck waren viel zu dick geschnitten, teilweise schwarz und der Speck war vergleichbar mit Kohlestücken. Der Beilagensalat war viel zu groß geschnitten und an einigen Stellen braun. Die Sauce dazu war nach der ersten Schicht auch nicht mehr vorhanden und die Zwiebeln hierzu waren auch wieder viel zu dick geschnitten. Auf freundlicher Weise wurden unsere Probleme angesprochen. Am durchaus sehr saftigem Preis änderte sich jedoch nichts. Auf eine Entschuldigung seitens Küchenpersonal oder Bedienung mussten wir leider auch verzichten. Leider für uns das erste und letzte Mal

Well, I don't know what gives such high ratings here, but for us the food was a disappointment. Schnitzel with “onion sauce” was totally overloaded with very coarsely chopped onions. It ended up being pretty muddy. The spit roast came with a gravy that was as liquid as water. The roast itself was cooked far too long for that. The specially ordered fried potatoes with bacon were cut far too thick, some were black and the bacon was comparable to pieces of coal. The side salad was cut way too big and was brown in some places. The sauce was no longer available after the first layer and the onions were cut much too thick. Our problems were addressed in a friendly manner. However, nothing changed in the very hefty price. Unfortunately, we had to forego an apology from the kitchen staff or waitress. Unfortunately for us the first and last time

Before our long stroll through Koblenz's old town, we wanted to fortify ourselves with a nice lunch. We were also given a very friendly welcome and we were given a nice place. We were quickly shown the menu and then decided on schnitzel with Maximilian's pepper sauce and a currywurst. Sounded very good and we were eagerly waiting for the dishes. It didn't take long before it was served. The food was at the table quicker than the drinks, which surprised me as a chef. My wife and my son took the first bite and we just looked at each other and said at the same time “Bahhhh, that's probably not the case. The currywurst tasted musty and the sauce was inedible. The schnitzels were still floating in oil on the plate and the sauce tasted nothing like the sauce offered (pepper sauce). Disgusting,,,,,,!!!! Chinese chef and good home cooking can't work.!,,,,,,,!,,,,,,!,,,,,,!,,,,, Now comes the next point: the bill!,,,,,,!!!! Currywurst with fries = €16.00 2xschnitzel with pepper sauce and fries = €40.00 3x house beer = €15.00 Later, we all had stomach aches from the bill and the food. We were then asked whether everything was okay, which we of course answered with “no”. We were then told “you don't have to come back”. I then just said, “I will definitely recommend you.” I can only recommend that everyone not visit this place and just ignore it.

Vor unserem großen Bummeln in der Koblenzer Altstadt wollten wir uns noch mal richtig stärken mit einem schönen Mittagessen. Wir wurden auch sehr freundlich von der Bedingung empfangen und man hatte uns auch einen schönen Platz zugewiesen. Schnell wurde uns die Speisekarte gezeigt und wir haben uns dann für Schnitzel mit Maximilians Pfeffersauce und eine Currywurst entschieden. Klang sehr gut und wir warteten ganz gespannt auf die Gerichte. Es dauerte nicht lange und schon wurde es serviert. Das Essen war schneller am Tisch wie die Getränke, was mich als Koch schon sehr gewundert hat. Meine Frau und mein Sohn haben den ersten Bissen gemacht und wir schauten uns nur an und haben gleichzeitig gesagt „Bähhhh ,das ganz Ja wohl nicht sein. Die Currywurst hat muffig geschmeckt und die Sauce war ungenießbar. Die Schnitzel sind noch auf dem Teller in Öl geschwommen und die Sauce hat nach allem aber nicht nach der angebotenen Sauce (Pfeffersauce) geschmeckt. Eckelhaft,,,,,,!!!! Chinesischer Koch und gut bürgerliche Gerichte kann nicht funktionieren.!,,,,,,,!,,,,,,!,,,,,,,!,,,,, Jetzt kommt der nächste Punkt die Rechnung!,,,,,,!!!! Currywurst mit Pommes = 16;00€ 2xSchnitzel mit Pfeffersauce und Pommes = 40,00€ 3x Hauseigenes Bier =15,00€ Von der Rechnung und dem Essen hatten wir alle dann später auch Bauchschmerzen. Wir wurden auch dann noch gefragt ob alles in Ordnung war was wir natürlich mit „Nein“ beantwortet haben.Daraufhin hat man uns gesagt „Sie müssen ja nicht wiederkommen“. Ich habe dann nur gesagt „Ich werde Sie auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen. Ich kann allen nur empfehlen dieses Lokale nicht zu besuchen sondern einfach nur ignorieren.

Super fast service, good food and right on the Moselle

Gastfreundliche, entspannte und ungezwungene Atmosphäre. Der Chef ist nicht auf den Mund gefallen und immer für einen guten Spruch gut. Gutbürgerliche leckere Küche, insbesondere die Bratkartoffeln, das Champignonrahmschnitzel und die Schweinshaxe sind sehr zu empfehlen. Eine einzigartige Perle in der Koblenzer Altstadt mit schönen Biergarten mit Blick auf die Mosel. Lediglich für Veganer und Vegetarier nicht zu empfehlen, da diesbezüglich die speisenauswahl eher dürftig ist.

It is a very pleasant place, on the banks of the Moselle. It is eaten quite well. I was there in February, but I'm sure summer is better, because of the terrace.

Unfortunately, our waitress was very unfriendly, but another employee seemed far more empathetic. The "boss" did not tolerate any constructive criticism from us, did not let us have a say in the conversation and conveyed unmistakably: "You are wrong"! That's not how you treat guests.

Not cheap anymore, maybe. over 20% price increase in nine months. A pork schnitzel with sauce, side salad and 0.5 beer currently costs €28.70. On the card photographed 9 months ago it was €23.10. Yes, everything will be more expensive, but you shouldn't go overboard - after all, we're not talking about a top restaurant here, but rather standard German cuisine of average quality.

Wir waren schon öfter zum Essen da. Es war immer sehr lecker aber nicht günstig. Heute waren wir enttäuscht! Die Bratkartoffeln waren ganz grob geschnittene, labbrige, schlecht gewürzt Kartoffeln. Die Pommes genauso labbrig und ohne Salz. Die Nackensteaks mehr Fett als Fleisch und die Schnitzel industriell. Vom dem Preis Leistungsverhältnis waren wir heute sehr enttäuscht! Im Gegensatz zu Maximilians (es gehört ja dazu) ist das Essen zu teuer und echt schlecht geworden! Leider! So eine gemütliche Atmosphäre und ganz netter Service!! Ich hoffe das sich das wieder ändert! Es wäre schade um diesen Ort!!!!

Wow, das war Service der Extra-Klasse. Bei meiner Frau war ihr Handy ( Akku ) fast leer und das Personal ( incl. Küchenpersonal ) hat sich den "Popo" aufgerissen um ein passendes Ladegerät zu finden ! Hat geklappt. Die "Bratwurst im Ring" als Currywurst : super lecker ! Nur zu empfehlen !!

Super typische Speisen der Region. Freundlicher Service und schönes Ambiente. Direkt am Moselufer gelegen und nicht vom Deutschen Eck entfernt.

Hatten ein Helles aus der eigenen Brauerei dort. Das Bier ist hervorragend. Und sticht auch gegen viele Kraftbiere aus der Flasche heraus. Der Weizenanteil gibt den Bier eine Frische, die begeistert. Sehr breites ausgewogenes Aroma, mit feinen Citrusaromen. Kein Vergleich zu den totgefilterten Industriebieren, die mit Hopfenextrakt gebraut werden. Weiterhin ist der hauseigene Senf sehr zu den guten deftigen Speisen zu empfehlen.

Das hausgebraute Helle schmeckt herausragend. Zum Essen hatte ich den Spiesbraten mit Bratkartoffeln. Ich bin sehr positiv überrascht worden. Saftig das Fleisch, knusprig die Bratkartoffeln. Von mir eine uneingeschränkte Weiterempfehlung! 👍

Ein solides Brauhaus im Stadtkern und am Flussufer von Koblenz, einer echten Überraschung im Bereich der mittelgroßen Städte Deutschlands. Das Haus bietet eine gute Küche: vernünftige Portionen und geschmacklich solide Brauhausküxhe wird geboten, das Preis / Leistungs Verhältnis ist in Ordnung. Unser Schnitzel war etwas zu fettig gebraten, s war aber noch okay. Wir würden beim nächsten Besuch in dieser Stadt ein anderes Restaurant wählen, da es über ein DURCHSCHNITTLICH nicht hinaus kommt.

Zeer leuk authentiek Duits eetcafé. Vriendelijke mensen in de bediening. Wij waren al eerder geweest en een biertje daar gedronken, buiten op fijn terras. Mooi uitzicht op de Moezel. Vanavond hier gegeten. Heerlijke schnitzel (het zijn er twee!) waar patat bij zat en een verrukkelijke currywurst (groot!) met goeie saus. Apart nog een kleine salade erbij besteld. Echt lekker Duits eten. Zeer goede prijs-kwaliteit verhouding. Wel erg druk (en lawaaierig). Wij hadden s middags al gereserveerd en hadden de twee laatste zitplaatsen binnen. Buiten alles vol en binnen ook!

Après quelques expériences diverses au bord de la Moselle, ce restaurant sans prétention sera un bon souvenir : matjes ( harengs à la crème aigre douce) pommes sautées et Obatztzer : un mélange de fromages battus aux épices et aux herbes servis avec des mini pains chauds . Service sympa. Prix corrects.

Trotz Vorbestellung für einen Tisch von 10 Personen wurde uns eine kleine Ecke im Lokal zugewiesen, an dem kaum 6 Personen Platz hatten. Bei Rückfrage mit der Kellnerin wurde ein zweiter neben uns freigemacht. Kurz vor der Essensbestellung kam der Geschäftsführer zu uns an den Tisch gab und zu verstehen, dass der zugewiesene Tisch für uns ausreichend wäre und gab uns zuverstehen das wir das Lokal mehr oder weniger verlassen sollten. Wir werden dieses Lokal auf keinen Fall wieder betreten geschweige denn weiter empfehlen. Sehr enttäuschend für Koblenz.

4 Wochen vorher ist der Tisch bestellt worden, Tisch war zumvereinbarten Zeitpunkt nicht fertig und wir sollten mit 10 Personen an einen 6 Personen Tisch sitzen, Mitarbeiterin hat sich bemüht, der Chef kam fünf Minuten später und hat sich beschert was uns einfallen würde wir sollten uns gefällig mit 10 Personen da reinquetschten und gefälligst essen oder gehen, wir haben geschlossen das Lokal verlassen, wir wollten einen schönen Abend da verbringen aber auf ein Angemotze vom Chef hatten wir keine Lust

Hier in de ochtend terechtgekomen tijdens onze ontdekkingstocht door Koblenz voor een drankje. De ober was vrolijk en maakte grapjes, erg gastvrij en vriendelijk. Mooi terras met uitzicht op de rivier. Ook binnen zag het er goed uit en alles was schoon.

We had a wonderful time here what a restaurant great German food they brew their own beer which I tried the Weiss beer. Prices were good portion sizes large and the service extremely friendly !!!! We will be back tomorrow for more !!!

Meine Frau und ich hatten vor Kurzem das Vergnügen, das Maximilians Altes Kaufhaus zu besuchen, und wir waren restlos begeistert. Dieses charmante Brauhaus befindet sich an der Mosel und bietet mit seinen wunderschönen Biergarten einem atemberaubenden Blick auf die imposante Festung Ehrenbreitstein. Der Anlass unseres Besuchs war ein entspanntes Abendessen, und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Das Ambiente des Restaurants is gemütlich und einladend und einer angenehmen Atmosphäre. Der Biergarten war besonders beeindruckend, da er uns die Gelegenheit bot, das warme Sommerwetter zu genießen und gleichzeitig die herrliche Aussicht zu bewundern. Was die Speisen angeht, waren wir von der Vielfalt und Qualität der Gerichte sehr beeindruckt. Ich entschied mich für den Mälzer Salat, der mit frischen und knackigen Zutaten zubereitet wurde und mit einer köstlichen Vinaigrette angemacht war. Meine Frau wählte den Salat mit zarten Rinderfiletstreifen, der perfekt zubereitet und mit einer köstlichen Sauce serviert wurde. Beide Gerichte waren ein echter Genuss und übertrafen unsere Erwartungen. Selbstverständlich ließen wir es uns nicht nehmen, die Biere zu probieren. Das hausgebrauten Helle und das Kölsch (früh) waren beide hervorragend und sorgten für die perfekte Ergänzung zu unseren Mahlzeiten. Die Biere waren frisch und hatten einen vollen Geschmack, der unser Abendessen noch angenehmer machte. Der Service im Maximilians Altes Kaufhaus verdient ebenfalls große Anerkennung. Das Personal war nicht nur äußerst aufmerksam, sondern auch schnell und sympathisch. Unsere Bestellungen wurden prompt aufgenommen und das Essen wurde zügig serviert, ohne dass wir das Gefühl hatten, gehetzt zu werden. Die Mitarbeiterinnen waren stets bereit, uns bei Fragen zu den Gerichten und Getränken zu helfen und sorgten dafür, dass wir uns rundum wohl fühlten. Alles in allem war unser Besuch im Maximilians Altes Kaufhaus ein absoluter Erfolg. Das Restaurant bietet nicht nur eine idyllische Lage an der Mosel mit Blick auf die Festung Ehrenbreitstein, sondern auch exzellentes Essen, hausgebraute Biere und einen erstklassigen Service. Wir werden definitiv wiederkommen und können das Maximilians Altes Kaufhaus allen empfehlen, die eine erstklassige Brauhaus-Erfahrung suchen.
