A great location on the Moselle with a beer garden. The food is, as usual at Maximilian's, good, hearty German cuisine. The house-brewed beer is highly recommended. The location is also well-suited for groups. Reservations are recommended.

Questo ristorante, che offre tavoli sia all' interno che all' esterno, serve cucina tipica tedesca: vinerschnitzel, insalate, stinchi, wurstel.... Noi abbiamo preso stinco e insalata. Tutto a bastanza buono. Abbiamo cenato con vista fiume!

The Old Department Store is our destination every time we camp on the Rhine and ride our bikes. Everything is always great here. The sausage tastes good, the beer tastes good and the service is always friendly and attentive. We say goodbye until next time.

I have to briefly share my experiences from last year. Come in without registering. Delicious, home-brewed beer. After a beer in the queue there was a table which we soon shared with another couple. We got to know them better over the course of the evening, had a lot of fun and still meet up occasionally today. The food came quickly and was as I imagine it would be in a brewery. Not star-rated cuisine, but tasty and sufficient. Recommended brewery. Table reservation is recommended.

Het restaurant is een plek waar groepen jongeren (20-30jaar) samenkomen om te genieten van o.a. lekkere schnitzels en kleine vaatjes bier aan tafel geserveerd. Wij waren met een oudere vriendengroep, gemiddelde 57 jaar, en moeten zeggen dat het eten, de bediening en het bier lekker was doch was er één minpuntje en dat was het rumoer (teveel lawaai) door het enthousiasme en uitbundigheid van de jongeren. Er waren op het moment van onze aanwezigheid dan ook 2 groepen vrijgezellen aan het vieren. Indien je het wat rustiger zoekt om samen te dineren, is dit niet echt the place to be. Ondanks dit enige minpuntje een toffe en leuke zaak.

We were walking at the Deutsches Eck today when we got hungry. We spontaneously went to the Old Department Store. We received a friendly welcome, the staff were very friendly and attentive. We ordered our food and it took less than 10 minutes, the food was super tasty and hot. The ambience is very nice and you have a beautiful view of the Moselle. Will come again, highly recommended 👍😋

I was very surprised. A small, rustic, very harmonious pub. At first I was looking for another restaurant, but I didn't like it at all, so I ended up there. The service staff didn't pretend to be friendly, but honest and the food was very tasty. Gladly again and again.

El personal muy amable y con carta en distintos idiomas. Comimos Goulash (muy rico) y un exquisito cerdo marinado acompañado de cebolla salteada. Súper recomendable.

Perfect BBB restaurant in Koblenz. Very central, very affordable prices, good selection of beers and the best thing is their very homemade and authentic food. The staff is very friendly and has a menu in different languages. We ate Goulash (very delicious) and an exquisite marinated pork accompanied by sautéed onion. Super recommended.

The food is simply great. Decent portions prepared with love, which is reflected in the taste. Hard to beat in terms of price and taste. I'm looking forward to returning there soon to enjoy the excellent food. Definitely recommended to anyone who appreciates good food and good beer.

The old department store is a small, very nice rest where you can sit in peace and feel comfortable. The main contributor to this feeling of well-being is the boss, who is very, very friendly and happy to talk to everyone. The food was very tasty 😋 and plentiful, you didn't have to wait long like in other restaurants. I would love to go there again at any time, I'm very happy that we found it and were able to feel comfortable.

Landed here by chance on a day trip... top food... we had schnitzel, spit roast and something vegetarian with rolls and dressed cheese cream and salad... what can I say... everything was very, very tasty and you will love it more than full.....plus a delicious beer....and all at reasonable prices. That was hardly to be expected in this location, with a direct view of the Moselle on a beautiful terrace. Everything was rounded off by perfect and funny service... We were only there briefly for a few Kölsch. So far, quite okay. Unfortunately, the first Kölsch were also very stale. The following ones were better. But unfortunately it's always difficult when there are no German-speaking employees in seemingly traditional shops with a German menu. At an Indian restaurant you don't want to be served by a Bazi in leather trousers

Sagenhaft lecker! Der Spießbraten mit dunkler Soße und so zartem Fleisch, dass es schon auseinanderfällt, ein Gedicht! Und genauso muss das auch sein ; nicht wie jemand hier schrieb! Currywurst ebenso köstliche Soße und ganz große Portionen. Unschlagbar für den Preis. Immer gut gelaunter Besitzer, der mit einem lustigen Spruch sehr dem Gast zugewandt ist! Bestes Lokal!

Mixed salad comes with a good dressing but on a much too small plate, impossible to cut. Leberkäse with fried egg and fried potatoes (Lunch special) very, very greasy and very very salty. The Leberkäse with a fried egg and fried potatoes (dish of the day) floats in the fat and the whole thing is way too salty. The chef of this restaurant clearly doesn't feel like it and makes a mess of it. A few years ago you could have excellent food here.

Very good service and super friendly staffs. Outdoor seating is nice and chill with river view. But unfortunately we are not very happy with our food. We ordered two schnitzel, both are very greasy that you can still see a thick layer of oil floating on the meat, in general I don’t like it and not even say under 37degree weather. The mushroom sauce has zero taste apart from salty and the pepper sauce is very average. The starter and the Wurst Salat are alright.

The food here is really very tasty! Down-to-earth without a lot of frills, what they do here they do well. Prices are also completely fair here! The two of us paid two beers and a meal for 50 euros without a tip. Particularly noteworthy is the incredibly good service. Both the waiter and the waitress were exceptionally friendly despite the busyness...we weren't used to that anymore. We'd love to come back again :)

...why can't things get better? The fries weren't crispy, just soggy, and the currywurst was unfortunately swimming in a sauce that was just too acidic. The skin of the sausage, soft - like it was boiled and not fried - it really wasn't good. Please revise the recipe. We were offered a new preparation, which we declined - it would have taken time again... we just want to eat something without ever having to complain - it's just annoying. The Aperol spritz was not ice-cold and was too thin, the beer was fine. The service is polite, nice and open-minded. The restaurant is fine for tourists who rarely come back - but for Koblenz residents? At most, a beer! It's a shame, it could be so easy...

The food here is great. Had the goulash and the potatoes soup along with the wurscth (kind of a gourmet curry wurst). My wife had the pork neck as they were out of the swinehax which we were hoping for. While to food was great we were surprise that with a reservation they had not saved us a table and asked us to join a community table. Nothing against sharing the space but thins was a special dinner for my wife and I. The staff seemed surprised that we expected our own little two seat table. Over all good great service… not horrible but has room for improvement.

Although there weren’t enough space outside, the waiter suggested for us to wait for about 10 min. We went for a little walk and came back and a table was reserved for us. The food was delicious, surroundings is calm and pleasant. Recommended.
