Altes Brauhaus in Koblenz

I come to this city occasionally for work. This restaurant is a regular, at least once or twice a week. It's nice and buzzy and lively. The staff is extremely friendly, and I'm absolutely a fan of the food and its quality (as a Dutch person). Regularly eating next to random people is also a really enjoyable experience for me; you only find that in these kinds of restaurants and it leads to interesting conversations.

We came here looking for something traditional. The food was ok but our waitress was rude. We tried to speak German with a not good pronunciation and she was replying us making jokes of us because of the pronunciation. Not funny at all

We had a reservation and everything was fine. However, upon arrival, she made a comment about them being Spanish. It took us a while to order because we were with elderly people who couldn't decide what to order. When we pressured her, they gave us dirty looks and rolled their eyes! On top of that, we arrived 20 minutes before our reservation and they insisted we order three times. All this while trying to speak their language and making fun of me, the waitress was incredibly rude. When it came time to leave a tip, she told me NO! As if she didn't need it. It seemed like she was bothered by our presence. It wasn't the best experience!

The potatoes were burnt. The server didn't address it. I didn't feel like I was being taken seriously as a guest. What a shame. The food is actually very tasty.

I had dinner here and ordered the schnitzel — beer sauce, the portion was really big and delicious. It was served very quickly, which I really appreciated. I also enjoyed a big, cold beer that paired perfectly with the meal. Great experience overall! Would definitely come back.

Everything is fine so far, except the drinks are huge and therefore expensive. This isn't always ideal, especially with children.

Whenever we're in Koblenz, we always eat at the brewery. Quaint, cozy, and traditional. Good, hearty German cuisine that simply tastes great. The staff were always very friendly and attentive.

This is unfortunately a very impersonal restaurant! It looks great, I like the atmosphere! But something's different, I'm not used to it being like this! The staff is rather moody (very condescending, tending towards being unfriendly). The staff reminds me more of a Balkan restaurant, but with the wrong menu! So, not authentic! The food was good, with room for improvement! Except for the pancakes! Just pop them in the microwave, plate, done! And the dumplings, when they already have a slightly dried-out skin on the outside... well, it doesn't look good! Okay, but there are better restaurants like this. But okay, everyone has their own opinion. ...Conclusion! You guys need to work on it! I would like to come back.

Solid food in large portions. I had meatloaf with a fried egg, accompanied by the house beer. Both tasted good, and the prices were reasonable. The wait was long overall, but still acceptable. I deducted one star for the very loud and crowded atmosphere, even at lunchtime.

The food was delicious, but the service was terrible. The waiter was very unfriendly. Our request was ignored. No "goodbye" or "thank you." As others have mentioned, this might be because we didn't speak German amongst ourselves. We only spoke German with him, of course.

I visited the restaurant for lunch. It was recommended to me by numerous Google reviews. The way the server interacted with me as a guest and customer when assigning me a table and asking for the menu prompted me to leave the restaurant promptly without ordering. I then went to the "Wirtshaus Alt Coblenz," where I received excellent service and had a superb meal. Highly recommended. Just 100 meters away…

I probably wouldn't eat here again. Making a reservation for a large group was easy, the phone service was friendly, but the waiter was less so (he didn't bother to give drinks to the right person and seemed generally unmotivated). Keep in mind that you only have a 2-hour slot, and the bill can't be split for groups of 8 or more. Salad is offered as a side dish, even though it costs extra, and overall, it felt more like a place for a one-off visit. The restrooms were very worn. The menu offers two vegan main courses, which is great. However, the vegetarian, or rather, vegan "garden schnitzel" was really quite basic. It looked like a small, frozen, deep-fried thing; the salad was swimming in oil, and the fried potatoes were just regular boiled potatoes with a bit more seasoning. At my table, though, people were saying the meat dishes were good. For the ambiance and this, I might come back again, but that's about it.

The ribs and sausage salad were good; you get more than full.

Drinks: Königsbacher beer, refreshing and easy to drink. Food: mostly good. Service: quick but stressed, repeatedly reminding them of the next table. Overall impression rather mixed, mainly because the time slots at the table hardly allow for a leisurely brewery visit.

Great beer selection and they have a menu in English. Try their number 1 beer Konigsbacher…light and refreshing.

The food is good but service is bad. If you’re German feel free, waiter will kindly ask you how is the food. If you’re a “aus lander”, don’t. You won’t get a “thank you” even you pay extra tip. Don’t try to argue that maybe I don’t speak German, we were the whole time speaking German. I won’t directly say it’s racism, leave it to people to judge.

Fantastic food in a lovely inn, with a huge selection of dishes. Excellent value for money! Everything was incredibly delicious and 100% recommended. The staff were very attentive, quick, and friendly. We will definitely be back.

The Alte Brauhaus in Koblenz impresses with its cozy, rustic charm and invites you to linger. Despite being busy, the service was consistently attentive, friendly, and surprisingly quick. The food was also served promptly, was plentiful, and of excellent quality. A thoroughly enjoyable visit – I can highly recommend this restaurant!

The schnitzel from the "Schlängelpfanne" (a type of skillet) was very dry! The service was very unfriendly and curt! Card payment wasn't possible at first; only after we complained (we were a group of 25 guests) did they change their minds.

The food was really good, but the service was incredibly rude. I didn't leave a tip. They had no consideration for their customers and just complained all the time. All in all, it was still okay. However, I wouldn't come back if things don't improve.

When we went to pay, we wanted to leave a €2.60 tip, but the waiter didn't think that was enough and demanded 10% of the bill. We were a group, and that would have amounted to an €18 tip. I didn't think so. We'll never go there again.

The brewery is always packed. Reservations are recommended. There are many tourists, which is probably why the staff aren't always friendly and can sometimes be a bit curt. The food, however, is excellent and delicious.

There's no need to give your opinion, just come and enjoy. It's perfect. I'm Mexican, and I'll definitely be back. They sell really good pork shank. The house beer is very good too. I think I love them. There's a menu available in Spanish (poorly translated but functional).

We quickly got a table for five people, even though the restaurant was already quite busy. The food came quickly and was delicious. It's conveniently located within walking distance; we'll be happy to come back next time we're in Koblenz!

We ended up at this authentic, typically German restaurant for lunch. Upon entering, you immediately sense the cozy atmosphere; it's busy and bustling. We're given a table and quickly presented with the menu. We all opt for schnitzel (Wiener Art and Zigeuner). Four pints of Eifelbrau are already on the table; a truly delicious, easy-drinking beer. The schnitzels arrive quickly. They're generously sized, and the Zigeuner version is covered in a generous layer of sauce; delicious. They taste as good as they look: delicious! Tender and with a lovely crispy breading. A fairly substantial lunch, but certainly very tasty. The only downside is that the tables are very close together, which makes it difficult to leave the table. Everything else was excellent!

Authentic and touristy atmosphere. Indeed, it’s quite cramped and noisy inside. The service was average, our waiter seemed to be constantly in a hurry, which is understandable since the place was full. Still, it felt like they work under a lot of pressure, we didn’t get even a small smile from him. The food was tasty, and the portions were large. Actually, very large. I noticed that, just like us, many guests couldn’t finish their meals, which is a bit sad knowing all that food ends up in the bin. Make sure to double-check your bill: the apple strude (which was not good, like microwave warmed up) was listed as €6.90 on the menu, but we were charged €7.90. I saw two versions of the menu with different prices.

A very nice, cozy restaurant in Koblenz's old town. The online reservation went smoothly. We were greeted by friendly staff. The food is fantastic, interestingly presented, and tastes simply heavenly... I will definitely be back.

Two of us went out to eat and got schnitzel with onions. It was a disaster; some of the onions were raw. The meat was completely hard. Never again. I imagine traditional cooking differently. I don't understand why people go there.

Great old brewery, good food but expensive!

The food was more than plentiful and delicious, and the staff was friendly and attentive. €105 for food and drinks for two children and two adults is reasonable, especially since the menu really offers something for everyone. We reserved a table for four on a Sunday in the early afternoon, which was exactly the right decision. By 6:30 pm, all the tables were occupied.

Amazing Schnitzel... there's a Schnitzel Parade, I tasted two , I need to try all of them. Great beers too. Don't leave Koblenz without trying this place. Better to booked, it was full on a simple Monday

We arrived on monday, out of the high season, at 18:00 and with reservation, and ut was already full. The staff were really helpful and friendly, encouraging to wait, and very keen to help. Atmosphere was great, energetic with great schnitzel to eat. Strongly recommend if you want a place with high vibes, loudly enjoyable and less formal.

The staff was quick, but there was a small mistake with my order. Not a tragedy, but a shame. If you want to truly immerse yourself in Koblenz's nightlife and meet other people, this is the place for you. However, you should expect to be seated at a table with other guests, and you should also be prepared for extremely loud noises. Oh, and definitely make a reservation in advance if you want to guarantee a seat!

All the dishes were very generously served, the service was excellent, it's best to make a reservation if you don't want to wait, but we didn't make a reservation and were able to eat there.

It gets busy here, and reserving a table is advisable. But the friendly staff serve everyone, feed everyone, and keep everything under control. Highly recommended. But don't forget—reserving can save your fun and your mood.

We were there on a Saturday evening between 6 and 7 p.m. Yes, that's a time when all restaurants are full. We had a reservation for 11 people and got a table for 8. If you don't want to eat your schnitzel in a crowded place, you should probably come at a different time. The service was very brisk, but tried to be friendly. We really didn't feel comfortable. The food was plentiful; the meat was OK for most of the dishes, but nothing spectacular. The fish was flavorless. Overall, it was more of a rip-off than a pleasant dinner.

We stopped in spontaneously this evening. We were greeted and served very warmly. We'll be back again sometime. Thank you, it's great that you exist.

Absolutely, because the food, drinks, and service are excellent! The only thing that's a bit of a nuisance is the considerable noise level when it's full.

Unfortunately, it wasn't so good this time. Three out of four meals were either overcooked and dry, or the schnitzel underneath was black. The male waitress had no smile on her face and was annoyed if you asked for something else. The lady behind the counter was nice, helpful, and friendly.

So crowded! But rightfully so - great food, beer & atmosphere. The woman who served us was supernatural. I just had a beer (still full from breakfast) but my husband had his heart’s desire - a real German sausage ( see picture).

I can't agree with the good reviews. This is pure mass processing. If you're looking for a cozy place to sit together and enjoy freshly prepared food, you've come to the wrong place. Unfortunately, the schnitzels aren't freshly prepared, but pre-made from the freezer. The restroom was also disappointing. As a guest, you should pay for the use of the restrooms. For us, the only positive thing about the evening was that it was a comfortably furnished restaurant.

My mother and aunt were racially discriminated against by a waitress in this restaurant today. We've been there several times and it's always been very pleasant, and we're happy to leave €10 for the waitresses. I work in the restaurant industry as a waitress myself, and what my mother told me today is completely unacceptable—abhorrent.

We were at the brewery with a group of 14 people. We were assigned three tables. Our reservation was from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. We arrived promptly at 4 p.m. The food arrived around 4:30 p.m. At 4:50 p.m., we were asked to vacate a table and sit together. The vacant table remained unoccupied until we were kicked out. At 5:10 p.m., the waiter started taking our money without being asked. Nobody wanted to leave. We were simply thrown out after about an hour. This behavior is outrageous and completely unacceptable to me. The motto is: eat and leave as quickly as possible. This was the very last time I was here!

Ok it was a busy night but service was dreadful. The seasonal food was good but the mixed grill heavily over cooked. Frozen chips. Side salads arrived 30min before food. Ordered a second round of drinks that never came. Perhaps it better if you are not a English tourist.

A very nice, rustic brewery with charm, and if you ever eat there, you shouldn't miss the ham hock. Extremely crispy and definitely enough for two people. At €22, it's a real bargain, definitely 5 stars.

We were at the brewery with a group of 8 people. The restaurant is packed with tables and chairs to accommodate as many guests as possible, which, however, compromises comfort. The noise level was very high, and the food and service seemed somewhat affected. Our server was friendly, but clearly overwhelmed. I had a pancake soup and the knuckle of pork. Unfortunately, the soup was rather lukewarm, and the crust on the knuckle was rather bland. The side dishes also tasted very much like convenience foods. Overall, a rather mixed experience – the service was friendly, but the food and atmosphere could definitely be improved, in my opinion.

We celebrated a birthday here 🎂. The food was very good. The price and quality were also right. The staff was friendly. We'll definitely be back.
