Really crowded, really loud, pretty narrow, very rustic. You should definitely pre-order. Even within the week. There are time windows and the service takes great care to ensure that these are adhered to. The food tasted very good!

A clear recommendation! Everything was perfect for us here. Tip. You should reserve seats in advance in the evening. If you have to wait, you can also get a beer, which you can drink while sitting outside on the window sill. Great!

Tolle Brauhausatmosphäre bei einem hervorragenden Preis Leistungsverhältnis. Die Tellergerichte sind sehr gut portioniert, so das dort keiner hungrig das Lokal verlässt. Das Personal ist vom Fach, alle Speisen werden gut erklärt und entsprechen der Realität. Das internationale Publikum gibt dem Restaurant einen besonderen Flair.

Despite having a reservation, we were seated with another couple we didn't know. The main took 40 minutes to arrive; so long that a German group next to us complained on our behalf as an act of kindness to English speakers. The schnitzel was soggy and chewy. I've regularly had better at home. Portion sizes are good for the money and the look is authentic. Overall though, a 'pile it high, pack 'em in, sell it cheap' approach to running a restaurant. A four-star rating is far too high.

Food was fantastic, super traditional German food and in a pub setting. The organization for seating is really bad as they allow people to clog the entrance and the staff doesn’t know who to help first. One of the eating and drinking tables is directly in front of the welcome area and people just tend to get lost. It’s really loud in there so be prepared for traditional German places with revel and noise and people everywhere. If you like quiet and space. This is not for you. But I really enjoyed my time. Wait staff rarely checks on tables which let drinks sit empty that could have been filled. Still recommend.

We must have had one of the bad days of service. We were served very unfriendly and it took half an hour until drinks could be ordered. It was more important to sit down at a table with a colleague and have a coffee. Then it took forever until we could order something to eat. Even though the store was almost empty. We are served. Never this store again.

Are on a short trip to Koblenz for 3 days. Old town. Walked around. And then this scent hits our noses. These were then pressed against the windows and we saw a lot of satisfied guests. Heads stuck in. Do you have room for four? Yes, come in… and then great draft beer. Great home cooking. Fried potatoes a poem. People. Come here.

The name promises more than it delivers. We were there as a group of 20 people and were shouted at by the staff because three people didn't want to order food, but "just" wanted something to drink. After a short but heated discussion, these three people didn't need to order anything to eat. We were all very upset. Hospitality is different. The food was somewhat okay, but it didn't blow us away. The friendliness of the staff was limited and when paying later we were told that payment was only possible in cash. After further stubborn discussions because some people actually didn't have enough cash, we were able to pay by card. After someone from the group discovered a rat catcher under our seat, the evening in this restaurant was over for good. I will no longer visit this restaurant or recommend it to others. There are enough better alternatives in Koblenz.

I can really only give it 5 stars. A great atmosphere, staff friendly and accommodating, great value for money. The food was super tasty and sufficient. We wish the team always happy guests, stay that way.

A nice restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and drinks were picked up by the waitress and delivered promptly. The food was also ordered quickly and was served in about 20 minutes. The portions were good and very tasty. The menu itself was very extensive (perhaps a bit too much), but there was definitely something for everyone. On certain dates there are also live events with music & co.

A great restaurant with rustic cuisine in the heart of Koblenz. The selection of dishes is well chosen and the portions are generous. The prices are fair. The staff is always friendly and attentive. And that despite the house being full and you could see how stressed the nice waitresses were, but they were in a good mood despite everything! The estimated 120 seats were all occupied and there were still a few guests waiting outside for free tables. Due to the occupancy, the background noise was also quite loud. We were a group of 11 good friends on a hiking tour and had reserved four months in advance, which was a good thing because such a large group wouldn't have found space there spontaneously!

The food here is just disgusting. The schnitzels taste as if they had been fried several days ago and then warmed up in the microwave. The schnitzels are hard. The curry sauce was too spicy, the currywurst was shriveled and tasted old, the dumplings weren't cooked properly, the red cabbage had too much vinegar and the puree was far too runny. By the way, this is all ready-made bag of food. Unfortunately, there is no fresh cooking here. We are very disappointed with our visit.

Unfortunately it's just a rip-off. Our group was processed, some of the products were in cans, half-full draft beer and inedible fish were served. Without apology in each case. I can't understand the good rating and won't be going there again. Too bad

A local taxi driver recommended the brewery to me as a very good address in Koblenz. Unfortunately, this impression was not confirmed. Rather, I and our group were dismayed at the way customers are treated in a restaurant these days. The waitress in charge was rude, dismissive and sometimes rude. Only people who would eat something were allowed to sit at the table (the majority of us ate). After a very short time, more people were seated at the table, although our latecomers arrived only a few minutes later. Apparently you only pay in cash because card payments “would take too long”. In general, however, the incredibly negative mood was the most disturbing point. The food was rather below average. Not recommended.

I am permanently shocked about my visit to this brewery, as I have never experienced such unfriendly and invasive service. We were there with a larger group and had made reservations; most of us also wanted to eat something there. Since I didn't want to eat anything, I was very rudely asked to stand in the counter area separately from the group and consume my drink there. After some discussion, which was very unobjective on the part of the employee and in which she grabbed my forearm and called me "sweetheart", I was then tolerated to sit down with my group. Other people in my group also had unpleasant situations that evening with the two employees responsible for us for reasons that were incomprehensible. In the brewery there are signs/posters with, in my opinion, sexist sayings on some of the walls. For example, the counter area and the women's toilets are "bitch zone" and there are numerous sayings that use outdated gender stereotypes and seemed completely inappropriate to me. I found the room to be unhygienic because, among other things, there was rodent bait under our seating area. It was extremely loud and an overall very tiring visit. I couldn't see any hospitality, it seems to be more about profit and quick "processing" of the guests.

Unfriendly service (M); - carelessly throwing down the cards - Ketchup/mayo peppered on the table - not responding properly to us guests (wanted roast beef - got sauerbraten) We were asked which roast beef 54 or 55, but 54 was the sauerbraten - Wrong drink delivered Children's schnitzel was not cooked through and was full of pepper Toilets unclean However, the rump steak we ordered was very tasty. It's a shame that the other things ruined the evening a bit.

In terms of food, it was below average. As per reviews, it seems to be highly rated but the food (pork knuckle) we received was disappointing. On top of that, the rude behaviour of the waitress made it a worse experience. Even a simple order to have a beer was met with rude behaviour. Finally, they had the audacity to ask for a compulsory tip!

The only restaurant I have ever been to charges for extra plates you ask for 🤣🤣🤣. We wanted to share the food. So we asked for two spares plates. The woman in her 50s or 60s charged us €1/plate. We ordered only one bottle of water. She charged two as well but being found out by us. Finally the knuckle was not knuckle at all as the skin is just like chewing gum not crispy in any way or toasted. The sausages are very salty. Nothing special about the house speciality ribs.

Went for lunch with a group of 7 people, almost everyone had the salads, I tried the Schmänge salad myself, with fried potatoes and a fried egg. It tasted really good and the portion was really good, which is what everyone else said. Price-performance ratio was completely okay, and the Eifler beer tasted good too. The service was fully competent when it came to paying, and perhaps the service should have had a better overview when it came to ordering drinks. We would have drunk more if the staff had spoken to us more often. Only the men's toilets deserve better air or other decorative stones in the urinal. Nevertheless, I can recommend the restaurant, even without outside seating.

It's a mystery to me how they get good reviews. Or maybe the cook was having a bad day. Schnitzel really wasn't tasty, we haven't had it worse in Germany. It had probably been waiting in the kitchen for a long time. And the sausage from the grill has never seen a grill, just a mediocre smoked sausage. Sauerkraut was tasty. And another thing, spring water is very expensive. 0.2ll for €3 is converted to €15 per liter! Ridiculous!

Old brewery style establishment in the centre of Koblenz. Really enjoyed the food! I had Rheinscher Sauerbraten, a sour beef stew with potato dumplings - a favourite of mine. Good beer too, but it was really full and busy on the got summer day I visited. I would visit again!

Both I, my friend and my daughter experienced the same thing, namely that the staff present at that time preferred to see this restaurant visited by the Germans themselves and not by tourists and were treated in a special way. And then I express it very neatly. It must be said that the interior of the restaurant is cozy. And the food was very tasty.

Somewhat conflicted about this place. Came in with a group of 7 to a seemingly irritated waitress. Between the disinterest, snappy responses and shouting "No, later" when we politely asked to order some additional drinks, we didn't feel too welcome. So much so that we chose to forgo the tip. Only to have the waitress challenge us and ask why we did not give anything. All for the whole restaurant section to hear ... In the end, the food was more than decent. The salads and pork knuckles were great. So they did deliver on that.

THE TRATITIO LOCAL IN THE KOBLENZ PEDESTRIAN ZONE. Rustic atmosphere. Large menu with traditional Rhenish dishes that are rarely found. Huge portions, but still of good quality and taste. The pricing can also only be judged to be extremely cheap. The guests consist largely of “tourists” There are hardly any free seats at lunchtime. Advance reservation strongly recommended. For me: Always happy.

Solid spot for traditional German dishes and beer. Service is good. Enough English to make us tourists feel at home. Dishes are served promptly. Food was hearty and tasty. Bring an appetite, portion sizes are huge. The atmosphere is just what you would expect from a German restaurant.

Great food and very nice service

Where or how should I start...I'm still totally shocked. Yesterday we spontaneously went to the brewery. Very very full but luckily we got a table. Even if squeezed into the last corner. But our anticipation of the meal was greater so we just accept that.... Ha...well...we focus on "anticipation".... We've been there several times and have always been very enthusiastic. Only yesterday was the day where we now say...never again. After we finally agreed on what to choose from the delicious offerings on the menu, we decided on the old town pan for two people. The food came very quickly considering it was very full. Unfortunately, the first problem was the plate that was brought in, which was dirty. We complained about this and got it replaced with a rather annoyed expression on the waiter's face. But the second plate wasn't much better. We thought...oh screw it, we'll eat from the pan. What I have to say about the pan is... It's carelessly prepared. The fries literally sponged in the broth of the sauerkraut and when softened. The meatloaf slices have a spot of grease on top. Ketchup and mustard were carelessly slapped into the pan, why not serve them separately on a plate or something. That was the first thing that was a bit annoying. We were just about to start. I actually discovered a long black hair between the two slices of baked ham. My husband called the waitress straight to our table to tell us what was going on and how they didn't want to eat like that. We felt a little taken aback by the waitress who said they couldn't see the hair at all and there was nothing there. Until my husband pulled it out with his fork and placed it on the white napkin. She also says there is nothing to see. That couldn't be right because the kitchen staff would all be bald. I'll leave out the fact that she had long black hair. Very unfriendly and annoyed, she took the plate away and brought us the menus again. We should choose something new. Unfortunately, we lost our appetite and the unfriendly manner of the staff made us decide that we would rather go somewhere else to eat. We then said we didn't want to order any more and left the restaurant. We asked for the bill for our two drinks. Which we really had to pay for such inconvenience, which was really outrageous. In a good restaurant that would have been the minimum compensation. On the contrary... strangely enough, you were asked if you hadn't been there a few days ago. The last time we were there was in November. This one star is actually too many. Because we have actually never had anything like this on this scale. And as you know us, we travel a lot to established restaurants. Always fair and honest. Our conclusion... Very, very unfortunate. But we won't come again.

I have ordered Haxe (pork knuckle) and it is the best so far that I have tried throughout Germany. I have been to the Bavaria area where pork knuckle was originated but this restaurant has topped that. The skin was super crispy, the meat was very tender and the joint melted into the mouth. The portion was huge that I had to take away half of it and ate it the next day (one Euro charge for the packing). Will definitely visit this restaurant again the next time I come to Koblenz:)

No, it wasn't for us. Food was all slightly overcooked; potato wedges were too hard, schnitzel was a bit too chewy. Our waiter wasn't exactly enthusiastic either. Moreover, people are pushed together at one table a little too easily.

We thought we should have eaten bratwurst in Koblenz at least once and I opted for the version with sauerkraut. And that turned out to be very tasty! It was also a lot. The restaurant itself is cozy but noisy.

The keg Bitburger was OK, but we didn't like their schnitzel and Mett Kaese. The portions were large, and the purple sauerkraut was delicious; but the food was a disappointment.

The treatment of Spanish clients is not the most pleasant.

SERVICE terrible, waiter spilled beer, table wasn't cleaned and no new beer was brought, FOOD was like that (heaven and bad), 2 bags of mustard IN the sauce, was asked very intrusively (3x) when paying by card because. Tip. Nothing works at all. The Altes Brauhaus only has one thought/goal --> THE MONEY FROM THE CUSTOMER!!! 🤬 Everything else doesn't matter. The negative recessions are true. I can't understand the positive ones. I know a lot of breweries and other catering establishments but I have never experienced service like this. I hope I was able to help the Dutch people at the next table and they left after their drink. Afterwards I went to a café where my experience was confirmed without mentioning the location. Other locations were immediately recommended to me, although you could also eat in the café. That says it all, right?!

The restaurant was completely booked. Nevertheless, the waiter tried to get us to a table and was super accommodating. We had to wait a while for the food. But what we got was really good. You could tell from the food that the chef really wanted to cook. The food was great, and yes it is a little louder in the restaurant (it's a brewery after all) but all the employees do a great job. Nice place in the Altstad! Excellent food, pleasant stay, friendly service. We had a schnitzel and a cordon blue, a non-alcoholic beer and a mineral water.

Nog nooit eerder zijn wijzo slecht behandeld in een restaurant. Ik raad echt af om hier heen te gaan. Bij binnenkomst wordt er geroepen van afstand aan welke tafel we moeten gaan zitten, niet netjes maar wij zijn de moeilijkste niet. Er wordt zonder een woord te zeggen twee kaarten neergelegd. Even later komt de ober terug om te vragen wat wij willen drinken, onvriendelijk chaggerijnig. We bestellen een fles wijn en kijken even verder naar de kaart. Wanneer de ober de wijn brengt, vraagt hij wat wij willen eten. Wij geven aan dat we nog even verder moeten kijken. Met een boze toon zegt de ober dat het nu of nooit is, want de keuken gaat sluiten. Op dit moment was het iets over 8 en het restaurant zou 10 uur sluiten. Erg vroeg om de keuken de sluiten, maar bovendien raar om dat zo te melden en niet even aan het begin duidelijk te maken. Zuchtend geeft de ober aan dat hij over 2 minuten terug komt. Ondertussen heeft hij bij een tafel met nieuwe gasten overigens wel weer een dinerkaart en voor hen sloot de keuken blijkbaar nog niet? Wij waren zo geschrokken van hoe deze ober ons behandelde, dat we besloten de wijn op te drinken en ergens anders te gaan eten. Dit gaven we aan de ober aan en bij het afrekenen werden wij ook geen gedag gezegd. Wij zijn nog nooit ergens weg gelopen. Wij zijn totaal niet kritisch, als mensen maar vriendelijk zijn is alles goed. Maar wat een verschrikkelijke ervaring was dit. Ik hoop van harte dat de ober een andere baan gaat zoeken want dit is duidelijk niet iets wat bij hem past. Afschuwelijk.

We have never been treated badly in a restaurant before. I really don't recommend going here. When we enter, we are shouted from a distance as to which table we should sit at, which is not polite, but we are not the most difficult. Without saying a word, two cards are placed down. A little later the waiter comes back to ask what we want to drink, unfriendly and grumpy. We order a bottle of wine and look further at the menu. When the waiter brings the wine, he asks what we want to eat. We indicate that we need to look further. With an angry tone the waiter says that it is now or never, because the kitchen is closing. At this point it was just after 8 and the restaurant would close at 10. Very early to close the kitchen, but also strange to report it like that and not make it clear at the beginning. Sighing, the waiter indicates that he will be back in 2 minutes. In the meantime, he has a dinner menu again at a table with new guests and apparently the kitchen was not closed for them yet? We were so shocked by how this waiter treated us that we decided to drink the wine and eat somewhere else. We indicated this to the waiter and when paying we were not said hello. We have never run away anywhere. We are not critical at all, as long as people are friendly everything is fine. But what a terrible experience this was. I sincerely hope that the waiter will look for another job because this is clearly not something that suits him. Horrible.
