Alt Coblenz in Koblenz

We were there with a group of 9 people for the Christmas party and I had been looking forward to it for days. Unfortunately the evening was very disappointing for me. My starter, the tapas plate, was great. I've always wanted to try it out and was pleasantly surprised. Then unfortunately the disaster began. It was quite crowded, which is why everything took a little longer. that's perfectly fine. Two colleagues at our table ordered the rump steak and I ordered the ''Alt Coblenz Spezial'' hip steak. (Two completely different dishes, as the latter with Bernaise sauce and mushrooms). The waitress came to the table and said that she had two rump steaks, whereupon my colleagues spoke up. It was my turn last. She said and the rump steak again! I told her I didn't order it. She went away! Then she came back and said the rump steak was the rump steak. Everyone looked at each other questioningly! I told her that this was not the case and that they were two different dishes. She emphasized several times: for us the rump steak is the hip steak! At this point I would recommend training the staff before letting them loose on guests! Then she took the food away from my colleague and put the fresh rump steak in front of him and said, this is her food! Then she came to me and wanted to put the plate in front of me, which of course my colleague had already eaten from. When I didn't want that, I seriously asked myself whether she should bring it into the kitchen now, after all, I wouldn't have spoken up when she said rump steak the first time! I told her again that I hadn't ordered a rump steak either. She went into the kitchen, came back rudely and said THIS TAKES NOW! Then someone actually came out of the kitchen promptly and put the plate with the Alt Coblenz Spezial in front of me! And what can I say, the meat was English (it's a shame to serve something like that if you don't ask about the degree of doneness beforehand) and the biggest shame was that the fries were suddenly a much smaller portion and were served COLD! I assume that I got the fries that were taken from the food that was brought back, otherwise the fries would have been hot and significantly more. I only know Sauce Bernaise hot. This too was not heated and was cold in the small vessel. My boss said I should say something again, but that was enough for me! Otherwise I probably wouldn't have gotten something to eat until 11 p.m. After this huge disappointment, my colleagues agreed to a dessert and I have to say that the cheesecake was incredibly tasty! In conclusion, you can say that the food there is really good, but the way they treat well-paying guests is simply unacceptable. At NO time was there an apology for this error. On the contrary, I still had to discuss it because the lady told me rump and hips are the same thing. And what annoyed me the most was that a guest who had already been served the wrong food was then served such a careless and quick snot! I apologize for the statement, but nothing else was the food that was served to me uncooked and cold. For me, this is clearly a sign that the guest is obviously not valued there and that there is no need to worry about the guest's well-being. I thought that was a real shame because I had been so looking forward to the evening in the restaurant beforehand. There are three stars because the starter and dessert were really great. Unfortunately, due to the way the guests are treated there, I would not recommend the restaurant.

Wow, what a great restaurant, and such a beautiful city! I always drove past it or through it. But Coblenz is really worth seeing!!! And this restaurant is definitely a culinary delight.

We were here for the Christmas party. We sat down in the basement. It's really nice, but unfortunately the acoustics are "difficult" for larger groups. The service was really good and the staff friendly. Unfortunately, at the end of the evening there was more emphasis on cleaning up than providing the guests with drinks. The food was very good and the portion was really big. All in all: I'll be back

Great restaurant. I was in Koblenz for my training and was amazed at how beautiful the old town is - I went to this establishment because of a colleague's recommendation. I was greeted by a young, neat and energetic young man named Saaba. He attentively handed me the menu and immediately asked about my choice of drink. Since I had no idea which wines were popular in the region, he listed them off the top of my head and less than three minutes later I had a delicious semi-dry Riesling in front of me. He was also well informed when it came to choosing the main course and recommended the beef roulade. I ordered another bottle of water, which was on my table again after less than three minutes. After about 15 minutes the beef roulade arrived, delicious, tender but still with a bite, plus the delicious gravy with red cabbage and potatoes. For dessert there was a delicious apple strudel with ice cream and cream. All in all it was delicious and the service was excellent. In general, the happy and friendly nature of the staff was refreshing (not something you find in Berlin) and I immediately felt welcome. The food was very good - the wine selection was large - the price was a little above average, but I was there three more times the following days. 5/5 - Absolutely great, I'm already looking forward to the next training course!

We were invited to a goose dinner in Alt Coblenz. A really lovely evening, with first class service and great food. The goose leg was tender and juicy, the red cabbage was delicious and the dumplings were perfect. Highly recommended!

What was ordered was "2 curry sausages, homemade sauce, with fries, mayo and coleslaw". Absolutely nothing special in terms of taste. Two simple sausages, a small basket of fries, a blob (!) of mayo and a coleslaw which was eaten with three forks. The whole thing for 16.90 euros. Personally, I find the price absolutely excessive and absolutely not right given the portion, especially since nothing on the menu seemed homemade.

Extremely loud in the basement. Nothing that muffles the sound. Long wait (about 1 hour) until food. The food was nothing special unfortunately, sometimes not enough salad, veal schnitzel was large but rather carelessly breaded and perhaps in the pan for too long, or not hot enough. Fried potatoes rather scarce, but good. Wheat non-alcoholic unfortunately only 0.33. Service was good.

The beef oulade alone is a reason to come back here again and again. Fans of local cuisine will get their money's worth here. Excellent service. Reservations are recommended for peak times.

We were there with 10 people. The taste and the great ambience down in the cellar were great. The only thing you shouldn't save too much on is the filling side dishes, after all you only want to be full with one main course given the prices

We were here with a group, the cellar is really rustic, with another group at the neighboring table the noise level was really high. The food came quickly, everything was correct and tasty.

Very nice waiter. Good selection of wines at moderate prices. Mixed starter plate very good. Unfortunately, beef roulade and saumagen were no longer in stock at 6 p.m. on Sunday. No seasonal special dishes (now in autumn, for example with pumpkin or mushrooms). Veal schnitzel tough, fried potatoes oily and not crispy. Potato and cucumber salad tasted slightly musty (probably contained aged vegetable oil). In the stairwell to the toilets there was a very unpleasant, unventilated smell of drains. One of 3 women's toilets closed because it was probably broken. Toilet seat wobbly. Unfortunately, for two people you get a very small table at the edge or in the passage.

Very nice restaurant, but despite there being few visitors we had to wait a long time for service even though we were sitting right in front of you. The food took a little longer, "meatballs with fried potatoes" and it was only lukewarm. In addition, the staff wasn't that attentive, drinks had been empty for a long time. Well, it wasn't so nice.

Ich habe ein Hähnchenschnitzel mit Pommes und Salat gegessen. Sehr lecker und saftig und sogar 2 Schnitzel! Salatdressing auch sehr lecker und ausgewogen!

Located in the middle of the old town, the house impresses with an extensive wine and menu that everyone will find. The visit is rounded off by a very courteous staff.

My wife and I were in Alt Coblenz yesterday and were very impressed with this restaurant. Very nice atmosphere, you immediately feel very comfortable there. Excellent food - I had the beef roulade with mashed potatoes and red cabbage, my wife had the burger, both delicious. The wine list is varied and offers very tasty whites and reds. The young team was very attentive and extremely nice. Overall, we can only highly recommend the Alt Coblenz. We will be very happy to come back.

The food was good, but it took whole hour, no exaggeration, to get it even though it was just schnitzel and sausages. They should have a screen letting you know the wait time, like in amusement parks, so that you know how much time to plan for the visit. The waiting significantly altered the plans for the day, which was quite upsetting.

Very good food, nice service. Unfortunately there is absolutely no cell phone reception in the basement, nor a Wi-Fi hotspot for guests. Bad if there is no free space upstairs and you are expecting a call or an important message.

Finally, among other things, GERMAN CUISINE prepared with love, I ate Saumagen with sauerkraut, it was Sauleggor, but the jus as a sauce was awesome, it makes you appreciate craftsmanship. If there are 6 stars to give for the jus, I'm there

Nice restaurant, but the waiting time was too long

Had to wait really long (1h plus) for our food and quality was mediocre. Sauce tasted super strange. Great drinks, nice terrace and friendly staff. But not worth the wait or the money unfortunately, maybe unlucky day.

If it is very busy you have to take some time. We waited quite a long time for our food (over an hour), but it was very tasty. The beer (Pils) could be colder. Service was very nice (despite the stress because there was a lot going on).

In order to get to know exciting personalities better and have a good time with them, the Alt Coblenz has proven itself to me a long time ago. Today I was a guest there again. After many, many years. The Alt Coblenz impresses with its attention to detail, stylish ambience, perfect, always friendly but never intrusive service and, of course, above all, its gastronomic offerings. Although humid and hot, I had the Saumagen with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. Every bite was a delight, the mashed potatoes were fresh, the gravy with the braised onions was perfectly seasoned. The espresso at the end of a wonderful meeting was great. Little acid, fine crema. In short. I am happy to have been back to Alt Coblenz after so many years. And, I promise! It won't be that long until my next visit.

The Wirtshaus Alt Coblenz, located on Plan in the heart of Koblenz's old town, has been one of the top addresses for lovers of Rhenish cuisine for years. The homely atmosphere of the guest rooms, the courteous staff and the extensive wine list are, in addition to the beautifully located outdoor tables, other advantages of the house. The rustic vaulted cellar is also ideal for larger groups, but it is also quite loud when it is at full capacity. In summer weather, the outdoor seating in the car-free area is recommended. The price level is justified given the services offered.

I ate here again after a long time and was quite disappointed. Apart from the fact that we waited almost an hour for the food, the quality and portion size were absolutely not justified compared to the price. €26 for frozen fries, 150g of meat and a small salad drowned in sauce. Very unfortunate!

Yesterday we had dinner at AltCoblenz with a small group of colleagues. Since the weather turned worse than expected, many guests wanted to go inside. This was of course a logistical challenge and obviously stressful for the staff. We still got good seats and were served quickly and friendly. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back.

Fried potatoes fried too long. Salad dressing was “oh well.” Not enough jam for such a schnitzel.

The dishes were rather simple. The bratwurst seemed warmed up and definitely not hot. I was looking forward to the sauerkraut, but the quantity wasn't enough. The service was very friendly, salt and mayonnaise were also brought later - but that actually belongs straight on the table. Unfortunately, ambitious prices leave little room for tips.

We were very positively surprised. Service was friendly and on the ball, even though the outside area was completely full. The food was freshly made, tasted very good, and was served on hot plates. Drinks came quickly. And the prices are ok for the location in the middle of the old town. We've had more expensive and worse meals in Koblenz's old town!

There is almost nothing to complain about in Alt-Coblenz, all the food is of high quality and tastes excellent. The service staff was also super nice and, above all, quick, even with larger orders in a group. The only thing that stops me from coming more often is the price of food and drinks, Wiener Schnitzel (veal of course) two drinks, it's just under €40, but it's of good quality, but the portion isn't super big.

Unfortunately not everything went smoothly, but we were there with 20 people. Dinner on a relatively nice April Saturday at lunchtime - so it was very busy. The waitresses were friendly, but a few orders didn't arrive until the second attempt and one meal was wrong. Cashing out also took longer than half an hour, so we were 40 minutes late for the next appointment. The choice of dishes was right across the menu and everyone enjoyed it. Personally, the place is too dark and crowded for me, but that's a matter of taste. Maybe we didn't see all the rooms. The number of stars is only based on this one visit, which will not be repeated because it was a larger excursion.

On my last visit to Koblenz I went to the “Wirthaus Alt Coblenz” twice. Down in the vaulted cellar it is a bit more rustic, but there are larger tables, especially a. are suitable for groups. Unfortunately, a somewhat unpleasant smell bothered me that evening. Upstairs in the restaurant is finer, very nice decoration, pictures on the walls - the overall impression is elegant and cozy. The service was always attentive, friendly and quick! There are many regional dishes, traditional, home-style dishes, but also something for vegetarians, such as asparagus (seasonal), ravioli, veggie curry sausages, potato soup or large salads. The selection of wine, beer and schnapps from the region rounds off the meal very well. I had the sausage stomach for €19.90, which I enjoyed very well, deliciously seasoned, but it could have been a little more sauerkraut. On the second day I ate asparagus with potatoes - also recommended. The dessert with ice cream, cream, traditional chocolate sauce and waffle was particularly good.
