We ate there twice and were absolutely thrilled with both the atmosphere and the food. We had plenty on our plates, our food arrived quickly despite the restaurant being completely full, and we were a party of seven at once – that's not something you find everywhere these days.

We arrived at this shop disappointed and hungry from a café next door. We received friendly and prompt service, even though we were there with eight people at peak time on a Sunday lunchtime. The food arrived within 15 minutes. The food was fresh and delicious. The portions were large and the prices were reasonable. The location itself can be described as quaint, with history. A shop that is still authentic. A great shop for me/us. I highly recommend the goulash soup.

The meatballs today weren't homemade. They were store-bought. It was a rip-off. The waitress said they were homemade. That's not true.

The vegetarian club sandwich is excellent, and the service is very friendly: after I accidentally ordered the meat sandwich, they prepared the vegetarian one for me at no extra charge.

Excellent farmer's breakfast, enough to feed two people who aren't overly hungry. Lightning-fast service—never experienced such a pace before. The clientele is wonderfully diverse (all ages), and the overall atmosphere is extremely friendly.

A very nice restaurant that I always enjoy visiting when I'm in Hamburg, whether alone or with friends. The service staff is excellent... very friendly and quick. The ambiance is rustic but also quaint. Sometimes it can get crowded, but it's not too loud, so you can still have a normal conversation. I can recommend all the dishes after my seven visits. Kudos to the kitchen. I can also recommend the drinks, especially the beer, which is always cold and well-tapped. I've already booked a table again when I visit Hamburg with friends in September. I highly recommend booking a table. For larger groups, it may be difficult to get a table due to the high demand.

Super busy on a Thursday. We were seated immediately without any reservations. Git the last table inside for 4. We were squeezed in with no elbow or leg room. Food was good with generous portions and served quickly. Staff were polite and very busy with full tables. It would be better if the servers had more time to be helpful.

A super authentic restaurant with a rustic atmosphere. They also serve typical dishes.

Super welcoming and friendly service — greeted us very warmly at 10am at opening hours and even gave us recommendations and checked in on us during our meal. Asked about the labskaus and he told us more about it as well to help us with our choices. Outside seating was cosy and windy in summer with a nice view of the church nearby too, although its bells would ring periodically. Accessible as it’s near the central station as well. Great place good vibes nice food!

A very, very nice location. Lots of tables outside. Super friendly staff. Excellent selection of food and drinks. Delicious food, large portions. The noise level outside is actually okay, but unfortunately, we had English people sitting at the next table, and they were very, very loud. It was unpleasant and annoying!

Cosy Bavarian bar. We went on knuckle Tuesday which was epic. One of the best Schweinhaxe we’ve ever eaten. I went back for lunch the next day as it was chicken Wednesday, which proved again to be an extremely tasty meal.

We paid 32 euros for a goulash soup, a fish and two beers. The atmosphere was very nice. The food was also very good.

We only had a few drinks, but the atmosphere is cozy, you can have a pleasant conversation, and the service is adequate. The food that was carried past us also looked very good, and I think we'll stop by for that sometime.

The rump steak was excellent (tender and full of flavor). The fries, fried potatoes, gravy, and salad were all delicious. We were more than pleasantly surprised and will be back. The ambiance is rustic and pleasant. The value for money is very good!

With 26 students and 3 supervisors we went to eat at Max und Consorten. The place that was reserved for us was a bit cramped..but that didn't spoil the fun. We had contact in advance by email about how we could solve this for them and us. With a choice menu of 4 main courses plus a large soft drink we were able to stay within the school trip budget and our students enjoyed the food. The food was well organized and tasty. The service staff was quickly helpful and kept to our agreement in advance, which meant that the budget was maintained. In other words, a successful dinner where everyone enjoyed themselves and sat and chatted with each other in a relaxed manner and where all mobile phones were not on the table.

Ich komme seit 9 Jahren immer wieder hier her. Komme eigentlich aus Süddeutschland und bin immer wieder geschäftlich in HH. Wenn ich keine Lust auf Experimente habe, finde ich mich hier ein und ich wurde noch nie enttäuscht. Im Gegenteil, hier gibt's solide Kost, lecker und zu eine guten Preis.

A well-attended restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. The service was open, friendly and we felt well served. Since we as visitors to the city had trusted the good reviews, unfortunately it wasn't entirely accurate. We ordered 3x Currywurst and 1x Labskaus for dinner. The portions were all only lukewarm, which shouldn't be the case given the moderate occupancy of guests. The second star deduction for the food is for the curry sauce, which is clearly not enough and is served as a ready-made sauce. It's a shame that people here don't opt ​​for their own home-made version. There is no side dish, which is ok at €10.90.

I was only there for a beer, so unfortunately I can't rate the food. The service was friendly and quick - my beer was on the table in no time. The restaurant has a classic rustic atmosphere: lots of wood, a bit outdated, but with charm. It smelled slightly musty, but that somehow fit the atmosphere and made the whole thing seem more cozy than disturbing. Absolutely fine for a drink in a relaxed, down-to-earth environment. Friendly, uncomplicated, with character.

Unfortunately, my or our visit to this restaurant was extremely disappointing. Right from the start, the starter and main course came at the same time, which made both the culinary experience and the process very inharmonious. The alleged “feta with pepperoni and olives” also looked like a carelessly prepared supermarket product and lacked any freshness. What was even more serious, however, was that an ordered potato gratin with broccoli and chicken was simply replaced with spinach without warning. The ribs also still had the silver skin on them, which made them almost inedible. The Labskaus tasted like it came straight from a can, which was also very disappointing. Overall, there is a clear lack of care and quality here. Given these experiences, I unfortunately cannot make any recommendations.

Original, nice, with a lot of pub flair. Conditions quick and competent, outdoor dining very pleasant, location in the trendy St. Georg district, close to the main train station, so easy to reach. Recommended

Max and his consorts are already on their toes! Traditional and modern dishes on the map! Good drinks selection and a great, suitable ambience. Although very well attended, you try to accommodate other guests and not to send away! Absolutely to be recommended! Iconic, you should definitely have seen it!

Wir (2 Erw. und 1 Kind 11 Jahre) waren hier an unserem ersten Abend in Hamburg beim Essen. Der Laden war zwar gerammelt voll, aber der junge Kellner hat uns nach ein paar Minuten einen Platz bei anderen Gästen am Tisch besorgt. Super nett. Das Essen war nicht schlecht.. Das Ambiente ist sehr laut, da hier viele Menschen zum Essen und Trinken kommen und zum Ratschen. Fühlt sich eher nach einer gemütlichen Kneipe an, als nach einem Restaurant.

Cozy pub atmosphere. They had a lunch menu available, but I opted for the a la carte schnitzel from the main menu. The portion size was generous and the potatoes were simply amazing.

It is very cozy and the food tastes very good. The food the children ordered was very good. Unfortunately, I didn't like my duck leg that much, so I only gave it 4 stars for the food. Staff is very nice and accommodating.

I really enjoyed my stay in this rustic, classic pub with predominantly German home cooking, and so the three of us stayed longer than originally planned. A few minutes from the main train station and easily accessible on foot.

The pub is nice and rustic, just before the charm of the dilapidated place. The service was cool. The food was, unfortunately, subpar. Künkohl with smoked pork and fried potatoes. The fried potatoes were swimming in fat. The kale was an indefinable mass, far from having any structure. The beer is delicious. In short: great for drinking beer, but not for eating.

Really bad food. Completely and violently oversalted. The chicken breast was at most 4mm thick... I haven't eaten something that bad in a long time. The fried mushrooms that you can order with it were almost certainly from a can and so sparsely available... 80% of the mushrooms were simply onions, which of course were completely over salted^^ a complete disaster. Of course, the fried potatoes weren't crispy either and were drowned in cheap sunflower oil. In general, the entire plate was swimming in fat and it tasted that way... My friend's fried salmon was on top of the fries, so someone must have really thought about it. Real professionals at work, WOW! 😅 You really don't need to eat here. But the Ratsherrn on tap was delicious. At least something 🤣

Old, rustic Hamburger restaurant in St. Georg. You should definitely visit once. Dishes on the daily menu cost 9.50 euros and taste good.

I was there on Saturday with my little sister, before the soccer game. The service is great.:) The food was great. Personally, I particularly liked the fact that there are at least 3 veggie and 3 vegan dishes.:) The toilets are also super clean. Everything was great.:) If I'm in Hamburg again, I'd be happy to come back.:)

Max and Co is a Hamburg original and always worth a visit. A Max Burger to end a tough day was just the thing.

Super nice place, everything tastes good :) was here in Hamburg for the third time and was always happy with the choice. Good portions, nice service and quick to reach. Breakfast until 3 p.m. so super relaxed for all late risers 😊

20 years ago it was good, today it was so-so

I've been there three times in quick succession - and this quota says that I definitely recommend the location. To be honest, I wasn't that impressed with the food, but considering the price-performance ratio, it was still above average. What should be highlighted, however, is the always friendly and attentive service. Given the number of visitors that I have experienced the last few times, this is anything but normal. Hats off and thank you very much for that. I will definitely come by more often...

Really nice here! Quaint is probably the right word. VERY nice and fast service. All the guests seemed to be in a good mood, which made the atmosphere even nicer. Hearty food, but also vegetarian options. Generally home cooking. The tomato soup was great and the freshly baked bread was particularly special. And Labskaus too! I'll definitely come back and try something else :-)

Even after leaving the Lange Reihe (a long time ago), Max&Consorten has remained an iconic, pleasant place. Since it's cheap, it's usually very busy, but the staff still tries to find a place.
