I would have given it six stars if that had been possible. We were there on December 18th with 40 people – our TMI network's Christmas party. I've never experienced such a relaxed atmosphere, such delicious food, and such a cozy ambiance – and all this during the stressful pre-Christmas season. It was worth every penny! I'd never been to Herzstück before – I'll definitely be back!

We only had coffee and cake, so I can't comment on anything else. It was average. But the other dishes we saw on the plates at the neighboring tables looked really good. ☺️ The atmosphere is really nice!

We were a bit disappointed. Schnitzel with fries and salad cost €32. Unfortunately, there was no homemade remoulade, and I asked for a different side dish instead of fries, which wasn't possible, which was a shame. Otherwise, the service was very good.

I was here this morning (July 26, 2025) with a friend for breakfast. It was our first time here and we will definitely be back. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the breakfast was delicious, both visually and tastefully. The price is a bit high, but it's definitely worth it. You should make a reservation well in advance, though. The place is quite busy.

I was there for the first time in a long time. Maybe I was just having a bad day. They were definitely understaffed. Part of our food was first brought to the wrong table, then arrived at different times. Only then did the drinks arrive. The side dish was forgotten, even when we reminded them. Then we were ignored for two hours and weren't offered any further drinks or food. The salad was at least very tasty, although, despite being a lunch special, it wasn't cheap.

An absolute gem! We spontaneously stopped by for breakfast and were immediately impressed. A lovely atmosphere, warm and friendly staff, and a delicious breakfast of very high quality. If we're ever in Hamburg again, we'll definitely be back. Best wishes to Dani ☺️

We were there for breakfast with a group of seven people – and it was simply fantastic! Despite the different orders, all the dishes arrived at the table at the same time and freshly prepared – which is definitely not a given with so many people. The breakfast was consistently delicious: fresh ingredients, lovingly prepared, and the coffee was also excellent. The wide selection, including vegetarian and vegan options, is particularly noteworthy – there really is something for everyone here. The service was attentive, friendly, and warm, without being intrusive. We felt welcome at all times. Convenient: dogs are allowed, there is paid parking nearby, and card payments are also easily accepted. In conclusion: A place where quality, hospitality, and atmosphere are simply perfect. We will definitely be back!

The coffee and banana bread were good. However, I didn't like that they stopped serving hot food at 5:15 PM and didn't serve coffee. Other than that, I had a very good coffee and a delicious dessert.

This is a great place to have breakfast, even with larger groups. There's something for everyone! The coffee is also delicious. My recommendation: the breakfast from the earth! Finding a parking space is a bit of a challenge, typical of Hamburg, but the café/restaurant is also easily accessible by public transport!

If you like "hip" shops where seeing and being seen among your peers is key, while good food, attentive service, and a stylish ambiance are secondary, this is the place for you. A mediocre Spotify playlist blares through the speakers, and the interior is crammed with Westwing and Maison du Monde accessories in the style of Gen X to Millennial chic. Hamburg's young media professionals and consultants sit here with a deliberately casual attitude, fully convinced that they are introducing their friends from small towns to a taste of the sophisticated big city. Yet establishments like Herzstück have long since spread throughout Germany's small towns. If you want good (and not overpriced) food, pleasant seating, and a more pleasant clientele, go elsewhere – Hamburg definitely has better options to offer.

I've been there several times. For breakfast and dinner, always very high-quality, delicious dishes. Not super cheap, but the quality and price are right. The service is always extremely friendly and personable. Very tastefully decorated. You feel at home.

Having spontaneously snagged a cozy table for five, my guests and I were absolutely thrilled with the attentive and very personal service. The menu is modern and has something delicious for everyone. Perfect!

I always enjoy coming in for breakfast. The waiters are friendly and always very attentive! The breakfast for two or the bowls are always beautifully presented and taste delicious every time. I'm only deducting one star because it was a bit chilly and drafty during the last three visits.

We arrived at the heart of the restaurant with high expectations. Unfortunately, it took almost two hours for our starter – asparagus soup. It was very runny and garnished with wild garlic, which I found rather unsuitable in terms of taste. Then we waited another 30 minutes for the main course. The food was rather subpar for the price of, say, €16.50 for a Caesar salad. The burrata on my salad, for an extra €7.50, wasn't runny as you'd expect for that price, but rather firm and stale. The portions of asparagus, for example, were very small, and the schnitzel had a lot of marinade and little meat. Nothing was outstanding in terms of taste. Overall, the place was very noisy and rather uncomfortable. The restaurant hardly had any vegetarian options, which I also find very unfortunate. The service wasn't particularly friendly and seemed rather annoyed. Considering we spent around €450 there, they didn't even offer us a schnapps, coffee, or something similar on the house. A rather bad experience for the price!

Very, very friendly staff who are on their toes. I would recommend that you reserve in advance otherwise you have no chance of getting a place here. Coffee tastes fantastic and you can buy the beans there. Food is very good, price performance is completely justified

The ambiance and the service staff were simply wonderful, and we felt completely at home. The food was also very good (asparagus, salmon with potatoes and hollandaise sauce). The portions were neither too small nor too large.

We went to the Herzstück for Easter brunch today and were very satisfied! The food was delicious and very diverse and there was a cozy atmosphere that made you want to sit there longer. There were lots of vegetarian/vegan options, sweet dishes and of course lots of savory ones too - so there really was something for everyone! We will definitely come back and are already looking forward to the next time! :)

A year ago: Great restaurant with great waiters and an excellent Wienerschnitzel. Always my pleasure! Update: Nothing has changed in terms of the great service and the delicious food. We have been coming here regularly for 5 years. However, we have noticed that in the last three years the prices have increased by around 2 euros every time we visit. No restaurant can print new cards that quickly ^^ We've reached the point where we've probably been here for the last time after a significant reduction in visits. Apparently only a very specific clientele is wanted. Too bad!

SERVICE is a complete disaster!! The staff is extremely unfriendly. Children are definitely not welcome here! My friend had her baby with her and the stroller was absolutely out of the way and didn't bother anyone!!! The shop is not cheap, you pay a lot for breakfast and get such service in return! Absolute “NO-GO” Was the last time! Thanks for nothing!

Over the years, I've occasionally been to the Herzstück. Most recently, on Tuesday with two friends. For me, it was the last time. The food has declined, the service not unfriendly but distant, hasty, and just as friendly as necessary. You don't really feel like you're seen as a guest. The food has been much better in the past. For me, it's just average. But what annoys me most is that no matter when you make a reservation, even two weeks in advance, you always get the kids' table. For two people, you get the one directly behind the bar. For four people, you get the one at the very back under the stairs. Both are loud and have passing traffic. This is despite the fact that there are always plenty of free tables, but when you ask for another table, they're supposedly all "reserved," but when you leave, they're still just as free. Incidentally, this is independent of whether friends, my daughter, or I book. I don't need all that anymore. What a shame!

I had a very tasty meal with fresh regional ingredients and was completely thrilled. I was happy about a very unusual starter cake stand and the delicious kale that *almost* tastes like my mother's. Definitely a compliment, because no restaurant has ever achieved this. The prices were also very fair for the quality. The waiting time was quite long on a Saturday, so you have to plan for it, otherwise it's really good and I'll be happy to come back often :)

The restaurant had a promising atmosphere, so we decided to stop by without a reservation. Fortunately, there was no long wait, and we were greeted warmly upon arrival. We were hoping for a late lunch, but the menu only offered salads or desserts at that time. We settled on the banana bread and waffles. Unfortunately, the banana bread was disappointing—it was more like plain bread than the moist, flavorful treat we expected, and it was quite dry. The real frustration came with the waffles, which took a staggering 40 minutes to arrive. When I asked a staff member about the delay, I was met with an unhelpful and rude response: “Can’t help you, I’m serving at the bar.” Overall, the experience left much to be desired, from the limited menu to the slow service and lack of hospitality.

Delicious steak, delicious drinks

I have noticed this restaurant many times and last Friday I finally decided to have dinner there with a friend. A very nice discovery! The atmosphere is calm and pleasant, with just enough background noise of conversations to feel good. The staff is attentive and really friendly, which makes the experience even more pleasant. Meal-wise, a nice surprise too! I had a perfectly marinated and tender Hüftsteak, a real treat. In addition to the taste, the presentation was neat and tempting. In short, a great address that I recommend for a friendly and flawless experience.

The centerpiece is really a highly recommended location. Since it is usually quite full, we recommend making a reservation, especially in the evenings. There is a selected menu with very tasty dishes, whether starters, main courses or desserts. The drinks were also very tasty.

Unfriendly service and waited 1.5 hours for food. The menu was very small, only 2 dishes were vegetarian or vegan. Being very hungry, we were very disappointed to see the plates. The portions were quite small. It is a restaurant that is upscale - especially when it comes to prices - but then fails to deliver on all levels. We didn't feel very comfortable, were disappointed and won't be coming back.

We had a birthday party here with 30 people. Everything went well. Professional preparation, very friendly and competent service team and a very tasty breakfast with something for everyone. We rented the room from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and were given plenty of space and time to prepare and complete the celebration. Thanks again to the great service team!

To celebrate our anniversary in Hamburg, we went to the heart of the city based on a recommendation. Here you can feast deliciously and try out different courses. I recommend the pear and cinnamon mocktail. A suggestion for improvement would be to include more vegetarian/vegan warm main dishes.

Went there for lunch yesterday. Very large selection and delicious food. I had the braised peppers with rice. Very tasty, portion could have been a little larger. However, price/performance fits.

We attended the first New Year's brunch, the food was delicious, there was something for everyone. It's just a shame that at least one coffee isn't included.

A reservation was made by telephone for ten people. I called by chance and wanted to book four more people. Then a few hours later they said it wasn't reserved. The reservation would not be in the system.

Were there because it was recommended. Food is good but not exceptional. A little unseasoned for my taste. The price is already very expensive. For beetroot in batter. 23 euros, well. Unfortunately, there is a real deduction when it comes to services. Nobody smiles, everyone seems stressed. The bartender himself seems in love and behaved like that. Everyone is somehow wearing street clothes, it's hard to tell who is working there in service. But what's really annoying is that it was incredibly loud. The staff constantly bangs plates on each other. The bartender drops empty bottles into the crates. We would be happy when we paid and left. Were there on January 11th, 2025 at 8 p.m.

My favorite restaurant for breakfast and brunch. The service is always incredibly friendly, a real example for every other restaurant in terms of customer service. Always my pleasure!
