Great restaurant in a really good location. Super friendly service, excellent cuisine with excellent seasoning, and a great selection. More than good value for money. It was a lovely evening, and sitting outside was great! I highly recommend it 👍🏻

Waited so long for two beers...

I ordered a non-alcoholic hefe weizen and it was a big disappointment. I'm used to a different quality.

We had to wait 1.5 hours for our food. After asking several times, a basket of pizza bread arrived to fill the gap. The table next to us also had to wait 1.5 hours. At the end, we were offered a hot drink as compensation. Unfortunately, there were no blankets if we started to get cold. The food was still delicious, though. The staff were clearly overwhelmed by the situation, but still friendly and mostly helpful.

Nice decor and ok service. Lunch was decent in terms of quality but very generous. However, we didn't know that the carafe of water was chargeable at almost €6 for a 1 liter carafe, which is excessive, especially when it's 35 degrees and you have to drink. It's a shame!

In hot weather, it's nice to sit under umbrellas – depending on your table choice, you might even get a beautiful view of the castle. The service is prompt and efficient. The food portion was large (the price is reasonable) – cheese spaetzle with salad; however, the spaetzle itself was very bland, but the salad was delicious and the dressing well-seasoned.

We thought the food was okay! Unfortunately, the service wasn't very attentive. Overall, it was okay for us, but not a highlight!

A great discovery in the city of Karlsruhe.

It was good. The food was good, the service was good, and the ambiance was OK, even if you have to sit inside in nice weather, despite having a reservation. The restrooms are subterranean, even though the notices on the doors say they're cleaned twice a day. All in all, it was OK; you can handle it.

All in all, it's highly recommended. Other tables that aren't so sticky would be preferable. It depends on the paint and cleaning products; it would need to be adjusted.

the food very good! but the cocktails are very bad

We ordered Green Soul Bowl. It was supposed to have rice-quinoa mix together with abundant vegetables (looking at the picture in the menu). Unfortunately it did not have quinoa and the rice percentage of the bowl was much higher than the vegetables. We also ordered Dry Aged Cheeseburger. There was also nothing special here. It took about 40 minutes for these food to arrive to our table. The excuse was very busy outside garden. And this explanation came with only three tables full inside. And mainly drinks were served outside. This is not a proper excuse. All the food of the three tables came at the same time even though they sat on these tables much later than us. We also drank cocktail. And unfortunately I did not taste the alcohol inside. As a summary, if you like the ambiance, you can sit but drink beer or wine and don’t eat. And hope for the service to be OK.

The ambience was nice, food was good but fairly generic. We went in the summer when it was around 37C, there was no AC area so it was very warm! Great location though, very close to the palace and city centre.

The food is excellent and exceptional. The ambiance is very creative, young, and stylish. This allowed us to overlook the sticky tables. The restrooms also need to be better maintained. So, just put a little more effort into hygiene, and it'll be perfect!

We have been in Karlsruhe for a week and we visited Mauritius twice .The food was tasty and the garden atmosphere was refreshing. Maybe some steak dishes and a few pizza and pasta choices can be added into the menu. The staff was young and helpful especially we were pleased with German young lady Angelina.She was very kind and friendly.Thanks a lot✨️💫

I went there for the first time because friends wanted to meet up there. The food was quite good although a bit too expensive for my taste and what you get. What really bothered me, however, was that three times that evening I was asked for change for the music. Regardless of whether you were eating or having a conversation, people would rattle their cups at the table and ask for money for music that was neither ordered nor requested, nor particularly good, and certainly not background music but more perceived as annoying noise. It was difficult to have a conversation. At those prices it should be easy to give a portion of the profits to the ordered music so that they don't have to bother the guests any further.

The bartender, "Ente," who recommended cocktails to us that even suited our tastes, clearly shows that he wants the best for his guests, and the drinks are served relatively quickly and cleanly. I've rarely seen someone approach things so calmly and preparedly during a rush, and you can clearly see how the receipts hanging from the machine are processed so quickly. The interaction with the service is also top-notch 🤲🏽 The service is just as top-notch as Ente; I've rarely felt so comfortable in a restaurant. The staff is very attentive, checks several times to see if everything is okay, and offers a place to unwind. The terrace and interior design invite you to escape the stress of everyday life for a short moment. Since we were only there for drinks, I can't say much about the food, but a quick glance at the other tables was enough to tell me we definitely have to come back for the food ❤️ I'm looking forward to another little break soon. Thank you for the great evening ❤️

It's a lovely place to sit outside in the nice weather. We didn't eat anything. The mint lemonade was okay. The servers were quick and kept asking if we wanted anything. But the restroom was a complete nightmare. At 6 p.m., all three women's restrooms were full of feces on the toilet seats. That was really nasty. Phew. Horrible customers on the one hand, but as an employee, you have to look inside. You really couldn't use any of them.

A relaxed place with young staff – everyone is on first-name terms and you feel right at home. The good beer, tasty food (some of which is vegan or vegetarian), large outdoor seating area and modern interior do the rest. Highly recommended!

If you're looking for a good meal, Mauritius should definitely be on your list. The atmosphere is cozy – even on busy nights, you feel seen and welcome. The food is wonderful and varied. The cocktail menu also offers something special for every taste. The service is always friendly and even has a soft spot for children – everyone is catered for here.

We ordered a salad that was abysmal. It came with the stalk, but it was only served with a little dressing for 17.00 euros.

A very popular caffe/restaurant, just around the corner from Karlsruher Schloss, probably the most famous sight in the city. And that's the biggest plus of this place. It is also quite cosy, but it is better for drinks, the food is rather average, and the menu is quite limited - some burgers and some bowls.

We stumbled upon this beautiful restaurant on a short stroll. The menu was well-structured, and the three of us, all with very different tastes, found something to enjoy on a manageable menu. A particular highlight here was the homemade mint lemonade, which not only consists of fresh mint but also has no noticeable sugar, which a friend and I thoroughly enjoyed. I had a vegetarian burger here, everything was top-notch and homemade, and there was even a portion of homemade fries and an excellent dip. One of my companions ordered the 300g rump steak and was very pleasantly surprised, as it came with a hot stone on which the rare steak can be cooked to medium or well-done. All of this can be refined with herb butter. The dessert we chose was delicious. The chocolate-filled puff pastry parcels were nice and hot, the chocolate completely melted, and the puff pastry was nice and crispy on the outside, but they come with a price tag to match. And that's my only criticism, but it's pretty much overshadowed by the explosion of flavor. Deserving 5 stars, always worth a visit.

My personal experience there was this: I ordered a drink. When I got it, the glass wasn't clean, and there were crumbs floating in it that I couldn't identify. I showed this to the server, who took the drink back. At the bar, I saw the drink from the previous glass simply poured into a fresh glass... I'm honestly stunned; I've never experienced anything like it...I'll definitely never go there again!

We visited Karlsruhe today. We were strolling through the palace gardens and then came across this restaurant. We received a very friendly welcome and were immediately seated outside. We ordered a Mauri Bowl and a salami pizza. The food arrived within 15 minutes. It was a 10 out of 10, both visually and taste-wise! We were thrilled 🤩 Such a wonderful taste experience! Waited 45 minutes for the completely cold food (fries, schnitzel, and cheeseburger). Unable to pay in cash because it was the start of the shift and there was no change available. Not good in terms of taste, not bad...not worth the visit for me.

Unfortunately, when we visited the restaurant there was only a very limited menu. The prices are pretty steep: a Magherita pizza with a side salad for over €19, a salad with breaded turkey strips for almost €17. I had the salad and can say: The dressing was at the bottom of the bowl, which means the first layers weren't really dressed; the meat was of very poor quality. I have never eaten such gristly turkey meat. I also wonder why turkey meat is breaded and fried on a salad. I always assumed that someone, like me, who eats one would want to watch their calories. But apparently that is not a consensus. The waitress certainly didn't mean anything bad, but when someone stands at the table every two minutes during the meal and asks if everything is OK, if you want something else, etc. it gets annoying at some point. There also doesn't seem to be any table assignment for the individual waitresses. So we found out every minute that it was the last round and that the shop would then slowly close. For the price, that's just not enough in my opinion.

That was once again a direct hit. Everything fits here! The selection of food is smaller than in other restaurants, but what is served is really tasty. The salads in particular are great. The cocktail menu makes you dizzy just reading it, whether with or without oomph. The atmosphere on the Schlossplatz is of course brilliant. Spacious and hotspot for all young people and those young at heart. The service is extremely attentive. It never takes more than 15 minutes before you are asked whether everything is still correct. Only access requires a little patience. The guest area is loosely cordoned off so that you can only get in via a dedicated entrance. You sometimes have to wait 5 minutes or more until a space becomes available again. The service has this under control and ensures that everything runs smoothly. My unreserved recommendation. If you're staying in Karlsruhe and the weather is nice, you have to go there!!

I’ve been here two times and in think they might have changed the menu since then. First time I had a very good pizza, it was amazing. Second time I had a hambúrguer that was okay, nothing special. My friend ordered a pizza and said it was very good. I wouldn’t recommend so much the beef hamburger, but they have other dishes that I want to try, and for what I saw the portions are very big. It’s very nice to seat outside when is sunny or not too cold, but inside is also very beautiful and cozy.

Food and price were OK. The service was also quite good. But it was all very loud, the music over the speakers made it difficult to have a normal conversation. The ambience could be a little better. Overall 3-4 stars out of a maximum of 5

The restaurant scores with very friendly and attentive service as well as a pleasant atmosphere. The location in the immediate vicinity of the castle is a particular plus. Unfortunately, the food wasn't entirely convincing - the bacon on the burger was still raw and therefore inedible. Prices are OK, but given the quality of the food, better preparation would be appreciated.

We were there as a family with two small children and found the visit very pleasant. The waitress was very nice and helpful, especially with the children. The food was also very tasty. Only criticism: The toilet looked really, really bad! An employee should check it every now and then. And the taste and consistency of the cocktails vary greatly depending on who prepares them. I had the perfect complexion, which was very watery that day and didn't taste like anything. I also had it two weeks before and it was super tasty, creamy and fruity. There should be a little more consistency, because the price is always the same ;)

Unfortunately they were ignored by the waiter. After 20 minutes we left.

After an eventful day in Karlsruhe, I can only warmly recommend the Mauricius restaurant on Schlossplatz! The location is simply perfect for ending the day in style. The prices are not exactly cheap, but the quality of the food is excellent. The portions are also generous, which makes the meal a real pleasure. Overall, a fantastic restaurant that I recommend to everyone!

Tried the breakfast buffet on Sunday. The atmosphere is really nice, the staff is very friendly. The range of food (baked goods, sausage, cheese, dips, white sausages, muesli, jam, fruit) is sufficient and is filled quickly. The price of around 19.00 euros for breakfast plus milk coffee and a cola is around 30.00 euros in total. Unfortunately, I find the price very daring.

I was surprised by the good food. The pizza mushrooms had a great crust and fresh mushrooms, along with delicious shaved Parmesan cheese. The pasta all'Arrbiata a Bufala was perfectly cooked and had a delicious sauce. The prices were just about right.

Disappointing breakfast experience Unfortunately, our breakfast here did not live up to expectations. For €20 per person we would have expected much more. The buffet offered a very standard breakfast and most of the dishes were already empty - without being refilled in a timely manner. The selection was therefore very limited, which absolutely does not justify the price-performance ratio.

Crazy and absolutely unimaginable how a restaurant can manage to remain so confident with good quality and such perfect service. I take my hat off to this achievement and would therefore like to give it full marks. There are 12 of us and we are hungry and thirsty after training. Perfect speed for serving drinks and food.
