A nice restaurant. Great buffet for breakfast with rolls, bread, pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, sausages, sweet spreads... something for everyone. Friendly service staff. Maybe include a warm drink or orange juice in the base price?

The food was very tasty and the service was quick and very friendly, but the noise level in the almost completely full restaurant was very high. Therefore only 3 out of 5 stars for the ambience. We'd love to come back!

After a walk through the castle park you can stop off here. The restaurant is located directly on Schlossplatz. The staff was extremely friendly and willing to help. The food was good and (surprisingly for the location) not too expensive. The Caribbean ambience creates a little bit of a holiday atmosphere. You can definitely do it.

Everything is great but the bar isn't that great, you can do it after you've already drunk then you won't notice that it can't do anything

I can't explain why the pizza was canceled - the pizza was clearly the flagship of this restaurant. Very unfortunate

The staff were super attentive and friendly. The furnishings were cozy and you feel comfortable. The drinks were perfectly chilled and the new steak from the hot stone was mega. 300 grams of hips including side dishes for the price is absolutely top. The aroma of grilling comes across great and the hot stone works great. There's no need for an expensive steak house.

The Mauritius is beautifully designed inside. Our service was very friendly. The food is always a matter of taste. I had a burger with chicken and a side salad. Unfortunately the burger was rather simple. No sauce, just chicken, cheese, lettuce leaf, 2 slices of tomato. The salad was just as simple and the dressing was perhaps pre-made. I definitely expected more for the price. The cocktails, ice tea, lemonades were delicious. The menu cards were stuck together and should definitely be cleaned more often. We were also given visibly dirty glasses at the beginning, which we immediately complained about. The toilets: 1 was clogged and lacked toilet paper. I reported it to the staff and someone took care of it straight away.

Have eaten here several times. Food is great! Were here today and couldn't place a drink order for over half an hour because no one came. That's what happened to me here before. So they got up and left. Food recommended, service unfortunately not. Too bad!

It was my first time here and I had a good feeling about this restaurant. It looked very good from the outside and was nicely decorated inside and had a good atmosphere. However, we waited for over half an hour before we finally got up and left. So I can't rate the food but the service is accordingly not good. I can only speak for the day maybe it will be better on another day.

Nice decoration, the servers are very nice and try to make themselves understood. The service is very fast and on top of that, the food is super good.

We ate at MiPa at short notice today: great restaurant, incredibly nice and hard-working service, really great food. The only downer and well-intentioned tip to the management: The toilet is an imposition! Most station toilets fare better. Dirty, broken toilet seats, unbearable smell of urine. Even a simple cleaning rag doesn't help anymore. Too bad! Ruined the whole impression! But if you don't have to go to the toilet... wonderful!

Here you can sit outside very nicely. Partly with a view of Karlsruhe Castle. The food is delicious. Unfortunately, when we were there there was only a small excerpt from the menu. It was an event that day. That was a shame but everyone still found something. The service was friendly and had everything in view. The wasps were annoying 🐝. Interior design very nice and harmonious. The toilet was shocking though. Not a single clean toilet. Toilet paper and what not, was on the floor. There was a diaper in the normal trash can... Phew. Unfortunately the toilet is also used by non-guests... You notice that.

Once again in Mauritius. Service and food selection excellent. We always enjoy coming here because we have very friendly and helpful staff here. Definitely a highly recommended restaurant.

Not much of a choice of food. But that was the only “negative” thing. For us there was something very tasty (1x cheese spaetzle / 1x grilled chicken) and that's the main thing. Food came quickly, service was very friendly and the drink was also delicious (Homemade Lemonade = 👍). Prices are probably a tiny bit more expensive thanks to the location. But everything was within reason and definitely more than adequate for the taste and portion size. Ambiance is very nice.

We were there for brunch on Sunday. Good and delicious food. Friendly staff. 2 stars deducted for the ambience. It was very narrow between the tables and put together so that for 4 people it was very, very narrow at the table. Reserve a table beforehand. It will be full.

Service was good. Food cold, burned chicken placed with the dark side down, ordered a small beer and brought a large one. With the food being told that it wasn't good, I was asked if I wanted a cafe....as compensation? Ordered espresso. What came was an espresso macatio. I don't like milk! I wouldn't go there twice!!!

Restaurant pub right on Schlossplatz with a good range of food. The service is a bit slow, but ultimately friendly. At peak times, an order can take 20 minutes+ The Mauritius scores with its location!

Have visited this restaurant on a Saturday night around 8 pm without reservation. I went for the Caribbean grilled chicken at 13.90 EUR, which is new and was fine. Unfortunately, the tiramisu I chose for dessert was tiny considering its price of 4.70 EUR, hence 1 star deduction for this. The cocktails we tried were okay. The staff was friendly. Update (September 2024): Unfortunately, the prices for the same meal have increased in about 2 years from 13.90 EUR to 19.80 EUR. Yes, everything has become more expensive, but a 40+% increase does not seem reasonable.

Mit Aussenbereich auf dem Schlossplatz mit (teils) direkter Sicht auf das Schloss, its das Mauritius in Karlsruhe natürlich eine der schönsten Locations (subjektiv gefühlt zumindest). Auch das Essen ist immer gleich hochwertig und gut, was man bei einer Kette ja auch erwarten möchte. Die Pinsa war gut belegt und perfekt gebacken, die Käsespätzle (Kindermenü) waren schmackhaft und viel, und wurden auch tapfer halb aufgegessen (den Rest hat man uns eingepackt). Der Chicken Salad war frisch, hatte eine tolle Sauce und die Putenstreifen (sic!) waren auch perfekt zubereitet. Dazu kam ein aufmerksamer, freundlicher und schneller Service. Volle Punkte von mir!

Drinks take way too long. If you can't manage a large portion as an adult, you can't get a small children's portion. Not at all flexible and open to various target groups and totally overpriced.

Food tastes bland. Käsespätzle is actually bad for the price of 15,90€. I had eaten better from smaller Imbiss. Limited options, barely I see 10 options overall. Menu card is just 2 pages. Drinks too are expensive even for simple lemonades and Spezi. Service is bad, my wife was denied to eat her home food while 6 of us including friends have paid over 100 € by eating there. I wonder if they do this for kids as well. On top of it, I was generous to tip 1 euro but somehow the server has put 2 € and I noticed only after coming out. The atmosphere outside in summer (we were in August) is with bees and annoying.

The breakfast buffet is delicious and is replenished relatively quickly. Nice staff. Nice ambience. The only thing that seemed strange to us was when we asked which table water was served here for €5.90 for 0.7L, a waitress replied that it was TAP WATER, filtered. However, it is not shown on the map and the price is really very high. This is a clear point of criticism!

I thought it was really nice outside. The tables and chairs are broken, e.g. the mosaic tiles, but I think that's how it should be. So vintage look. I had the Mauri bowl, which was okay. I thought the sauce that was slapped onto a lettuce leaf was terrible. My cocktail was tasty, but for the price I would have expected more content.

Certainly a nice location to have a drink, but absolutely not recommended for eating out… Service was completely overwhelmed by the number of guests, but was still friendly. You wait a long time for drinks and food... the drinks are good so far. The food… underground actually. really not worth a star. When it comes to the schnitzel, the breading separates from the meat, the “cream sauce” tastes like watery, ready-made sauce, the fries weren’t crispy…

Very nice outdoor area, at the foot of the castle. Food was very tasty and plentiful. We were there during our lunch break. The service was very friendly and helpful. We received the food and drink cards immediately. The Mauritius in Karlsruhe, city center, is really a great restaurant. The location is excellent, which makes the visit very pleasant. I had breakfast there with friends last Saturday and was thrilled. The food was very tasty and of great quality. There was a wide range of breakfast options, so there was something to suit every taste. Everything your heart desired was there. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The manager of the restaurant is also a very nice person. He came across very correctly and was able to answer all of my questions or suggestions. I can only recommend the Mauritius restaurant. The breakfast was really tasty and the drinks were just as good. There's nothing wrong with it, it's really highly recommended.

Be careful of this restaurant... some mold spores were discovered in the food, and my food wasn't served again even when I was told. Unfortunately we waited over an hour for a cocktail and 2 hours for food. Only the castle grounds are fantastic. But the quality of the food and drinks is terribly bad. Be careful and go a little further into the city as there are much better restaurants.

Were in Mauritius yesterday at the end of the day, service was great, location was really ok, it was a bit hot but the place can't help it. Ahhh, the food… it's a total failure! For 20 euros a turkey steak that is really “mini”. The same thing happened to my neighbor at the table, the portions were far too small and very expensive. You should really think about it. The prices are excessive, value for money is completely wrong. A pity. It's not worth it.

Pinsa was very tasty and surprisingly plentiful. Service was attentive, courteous and very friendly. The ambience (inside) suffers from the volume when it is busy. You could possibly remedy this with sound absorbers on the ceiling if you don't want to thin out the seats (which is understandable). Great outside when the weather is good, just like with its predecessor (Multicultural), and a recommendation on warm summer evenings!

On our tour through Karlsruhe today we were happy to make a stop in Mauritius. Attracted by great live music, we sat down outdoors. It was quite full, of course - Sunday and great weather, but we still found a great place and were served straight away. The food came quickly and once again tasted great. It's not cheap, but it was definitely worth it. Service was competent and very friendly.

I still know Mauritius from its location near Karlsruhe main train station. It was good then, but now it's fantastic. The ambience inside is very successful. The food was very tasty. The service, a young, friendly man, was very attentive and friendly during the public viewing outside. We had 2 meals (I had the Grandissimo salad), 3 shandy, 5 cocktails and a bill of 90 euros. There's nothing you can say. The restaurant now has a great location. In summer you have a great view of the castle, you sit in the middle of the action and yet it is very quiet. In Karlsruhe you have to search for a long time until you find a great restaurant that stands out from the burger style in terms of food. Mauritius has definitely succeeded in this. We'd love to come back.

Food & service is quite good, what I don't like are the prices 😂: especially now at the European Championships, I find it really dishonorable that depending on the category ✨ you have to pay up to €50 per person as a minimum consumption. Public viewing should really be there for everyone and, above all, affordable.

We stopped in Karlsruhe on the way to Europa-Park and landed in Mauritius in the evening. We had a delicious meal here and drank our way through the cocktail menu. We liked the restaurant so much that we are seriously considering spending another day here in Karlsruhe on the way back from Europa-Park and visiting Mauritius again. The remaining cocktails still have to be tried. Absolutely recommended.

We actually like coming for lunch every now and then, so far everything has always been great. Unfortunately, our visit this time was really disappointing...the food came after less than 5 minutes. Some fries were still half raw, the salads were unfortunately not as usual, but they were OK, but the cheese spaetzle were really subpar. You couldn't eat them. Just a watery taste, half raw noodles and not nicely presented either. We weren't charged for the cheese spaetzle, but we couldn't eat it either. Maybe it was because the restaurant was very full, but we are actually used to something different. It's a shame...we'll definitely think twice about coming back.

We were there on a Sunday at the end of May. The food was once again very tasty. The service is always very attentive and courteous. Unfortunately, a reduced menu applies on a Sunday, although this was neither mentioned when making the reservation nor on the website. We were already looking forward to the Mauri box or the Salt'n'Pepper calamari box, which unfortunately wasn't available. But the alternative grilled chicken dishes were delicious as usual. Next time we'll come again during the week.

The food and regular drink menu is very slimmed down. They don't even carry fries. I find the prices to be expensive for the “size” of the drinks, for example. Wow upstairs and ugh down by the toilets! Four existing toilets were all blocked and locked! The only open toilet was the disabled toilet somewhere in the basement between the junk and dark hallways. Not even accessible with a wheelchair as there are only stairs. Somehow not a good experience with the location at the castle.

We have already eaten here several times, and now we also tried their breakfast buffet. Brilliant! Great selection, everything is fresh and very tasty! They also thought of the children with very cute things! I can only recommend it, whether for adults or with children, as well as their afternoon/evening or morning offer!

Very nice to sit on the Schlossplatz, so far I've always been able to get a seat. Cozy inside and out. Especially the inside has a very nice presentation. Very nicely located with a view of Karlsruhe Castle! It's fantastic outside, especially in summer. Food is plentiful and very tasty. Drinks are mixed: there is only Hoepfner beer on tap and the cocktails are cheap, but feel alcohol-free (we had 3 different ones at the table).

Before Corona I was in Mauritius at the main train station every week, but now only in the city center. In comparison, the portions have become significantly smaller, while the price has increased. Nevertheless, it is always super tasty! We always like to come :-)

A good, tasty breakfast even with white sausage

Unfortunately for us it was only a short pleasure. We actually wanted to have a leisurely breakfast with the family for Mother's Day. But since breakfast time is limited to 1 hour and 15 minutes and it took us at least 15 minutes to get to our table to wait for the drinks, we would have had another hour to eat. It wasn't worth it to us for over €18 and we left.
