My absolute favorite restaurant in Berlin

A nice spot for Korean food, the menu isn't sizeable but the food is delicious and filling. Highly recommend both Bulgogi beef and the KFC (Korean Fried Chicken). Portions sizes are generous. As for drinks, Korean beer available there as well. Interesting selection of house cocktails. Service was quick and concise. It can be a bit stuffy inside, it seems the kitchen's ventilation is insufficient. Overall would recommend this place, and we'll definitely be coming back.

When I read the other reviews regarding the price, I have a slightly different opinion. How can a restaurant survive if they don't calculate properly? The prices are completely justified, especially considering that the language on the plates and the freshness of the food require a lot of work! The food was delicious and just the right thing for the evening. The servers were very attentive and friendly, and the food arrived quite quickly. As far as tastes go, Koreans cook differently, just like in other countries. It's definitely worth a visit. I'll be back and try other delicacies.

Authentic Korean food. I recommend ordering the KFC chicken as a shared appetizer (it was good for 3 people). The bibimbap was very good. Ideal for people new to this type of preparation. I also recommend trying the wine.

Great service, good prices, very good bulgogi.

I had the baked glass noodles and found the price to be relatively high. I mostly had some vegetables on top. The taste wasn't convincing either. The seaweed salad that was served as a side dish was just a few strands of seaweed—it could have been left out entirely. My friend's was a little different; she had more seaweed salad, and the bi-bim-bap also seemed okay. We waited over half an hour for the food, even though the place wasn't big and wasn't busy. Overall, I'm not drawn to this place anymore.

The bulgogi is very delicious. The bibimbap does not come in a hot bowl, which is a bit disappointing. We also tried the onigiri balls with cheese, but they didn't convince us. In general, the food is very good, although the prices are somewhat high. Therefore, I don't go as often as I would like.

Had the bibimbab which was tasty but it doesn’t need all these little side dishes including soup. So rather than 14 euros… take away the little bits and make it a bit cheaper. Overall was tasty

First time here with my partner and it was amazing! One starter to share, two mains, two desserts, two glasses of wine and 4 shots of Soju (a must! (: ). Not even 70€. It was very cozy, nice service and the food was incredible. Would recommend this place to everyone!

Been here twice. The first time I had the soft tofu stew w/ seafood. It was very good. The second time I had the bibimbap w/ beef. It was good, but not as good as the soft tofu stew. I was surprised that they used salad in their bibimbap. I had never had bibimbap with lettuce before.

Extremely delicious food with super friendly service

Food was good. The price is a bit more expensive but that's completely fine. Service was attentive, but a bit intrusive. We ate a little slowly but they came several times (4-5 times) and wanted to take the dishes with them even though we were still eating... that made us feel very uncomfortable 😅

Four of us ate here on a Saturday without a reservation. The service was great, very accommodating and also passed on special requests. The food arrived quickly and was incredibly tasty. We would love to come back here.

Charming little Korean place with a fairly small but delicious menu. The service is attentive and the kitchen expedites their food rather fast. Definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner.

Well we left directly and didn’t eat there this time since they changed the menue and removed all the dishes I like the most there. Was a bit disappointing to see that. Pretty Little menue now. Tteokbokkiw is a starter now instead of a main course and no ssam.

Really hope that the old menu could come back🥹 I miss Man-Du-Guk and Ssam Bap!

Not new to Korean food , advised to skip , Pancake was good , dumplings were not eatable , soup ok

The food is great, both in terms of price and taste, and all the service staff are very nice and accommodating

We had the rice with beef and the udon curry. The portions were quite small, the curry tasted like a ready mix and two pieces of meat and the rice was served with very little meat, lamb's lettuce and unseasoned raw vegetables. The price/performance ratio wasn't right for us. But the staff was very friendly.

Jjajangmyeon, Jjamppong, sweet and sour pork Sikkim As of June 24, Jjajangmyeon is 14.9 euros, Jjamppong is 18.5 euros, and sweet and sour pork is 9.5 euros. Jajangmyeon: The regular Jjajang we know. Jjambbong: They say seafood is expensive in Germany, but it's probably not around 18.5 euros, and it contains 1 shrimp, 3 mussels, and 2-3 pieces of squid. At least the shrimp tastes like when you eat old boiled shrimp. The soup is clean and good. Sweet and sour pork: delicious. The amount is small. Contains 9-10 pieces. In Germany, unlike Korea, the price of pork is quite cheap. (It has risen a lot recently, but it is still cheap. In many places, such as Schweinbraten, it is 5 euros per kilo.) Overall Review: A good food to eat occasionally for locals who find it difficult to eat Korean-style Chinese food. However, it is not recommended for Korean travelers.

Good, welcoming Korean restaurant in a good location. Good selection of meat dishes as well as vegetarian food, where there is something for every taste. Good presentation of the dishes with a suitable ambience. The drinks menu also offers a good variety of Korean beers and wines. Only the dessert menu leaves something to be desired, there is a lack of selection, especially Korean desserts. However, this does not detract from the visit.

The atmosphere is modern and it is a family-owned business, so the owner himself serves the food. This is probably the most Korean-style restaurant in Berlin. Stir-fried pork is spicy with plenty of fresh pepper 👍 I recommend it 💕

By far the best Korean Restaurant in Berlin. We come here every 1-2 weeks since 2016 and the quality of food and service was excellent every single time! It is very authentic and owner & staff are amazing. We always feel very welcome at Maru.

Very tasty Korean :) We spontaneously walked by relatively early and got a seat right outside. But if you come at peak times and don't want to sit outside, we definitely recommend making a reservation. The kimchi omelet as a starter is definitely recommended, the portions are quite large, still with a miso soup on the side, all around good. 👍

Maru eats with your eyes and with your mouth! The food comes out neatly and each plate is very pretty. Needless to say, my mouth hurts to talk about the taste hahaha. The jjamppong soup is refreshing and the noodles are so delicious. I ordered extra rice, and the sticky rice goes really well with the food. Tofu and meat are also soft and feel-good foods.

It's so, so delicious!!🍚🍲🍜🥘 The japchae that I couldn't take because I was busy eating it was the most delicious!!! Don't worry and just eat it!!!!!!! It's better than the Korean restaurant I ate in Korea and better than my mom's home-cooked food!!!!! The owner was kind and it was a really warm and touching meal🤍🤍

Their menu is really nice, we were two people and we both ordered a few different stuff so that we could try out different foods. Everything tasted amazing. The people working there took really good care of us and they were very polite. The place is clean and the atmosphere is neat. It is also very cozy and a small place. I want to come again!

Korean restaurant in Friedrichshain. Do a reservation if you come in the evening. The "Bul-Go-Gi" was excellent and I loved their spicy sauce they brought apart. Tiger draught beer! Only I was not happy when my friend tried to order dishes a bit different to to his gluten allergie. Staff was not flexible at all with changing dishes a tiny bit

맛도있고 분위기도 좋아서 자주 찾는데, 이번 오배달 대응에 조금 실망했습니다... 잡채랑 제육을 시켰는데 제육이랑 불고기가 왔더군요.. 왠만하면 그냥먹는 성격인데, 파트너가 비건이여서 Wolt에 컴플레인 걸었는데 그럴리 없다는 짧은 대답이 왔더군요... 사진도 첨부해서 보냈는데..

Der Service war nett und das Ambiente schön, leider konnte das Essen aber nicht überzeugen. Es war weder schlecht noch besonders gut. Die bei koreanischen Restaurants üblichen Häppchen bestanden bei unserem Besuch leider nur aus einelegtem gelbem eingelegten Rettich und Wakamesalat. Beides schmeckte leider nicht wie selbst gemacht. Die Hauptgerichte waren ganz okay, aber nicht mehr. Z.B. die Gemüseeinlagen beim Bibimbap bestanden aus Salat und rohem Gemüse, was nicht schlecht schmeckt. Aber die besseren Bibimbap, die ich bisher gegessen haben hatten auch eingelegtes und/oder in Sesamöl gedünstetes Gemüse. Vielleicht sind die anderen Gerichte besser, aber bisher leider nur drei Sterne.

Leider wenig vegetarische Möglichkeiten. Die waren aber lecker!

Wow! Das Essen war richtig gut und authentisch. Aber Vorsicht, wenn da steht "würzig" bedeutet es "du spuckst Feuer" 😅 Geschmacklich wirklich sehr empfehlenswert! Preis-Leistung mehr als TipTop! Wir haben für 2 Hauptgerichte und 3 Getränke 45 Euro bezahlt.

Essen und Service sind normalerweise top. Beim letzten Mal mit Reservierung um 21 Uhr (Schließzeit 23 Uhr) wurden wir mehr oder weniger gehetzt durchs ständige Abräumen alle 2 Minuten und spürbarer Abneigung in der Mimik und Stimme von der Küche (Kellner hatten bereits Feierabend und es war ca. 22:10 Uhr). Ich verstehe, dass es spät ist, aber eine Anmerkung im Voraus und etwas mehr Geduld wären meiner Meinung nach angebracht (22:20 Uhr waren wir aus dem Restaurant). Beide KellnerInnen davor waren sehr nett!

Ein spontaner Besuch und glücklicherweise einen Tisch bekommen. Der Service war aufmerksam und freundlich und bemüht, nicht ins stete Touristenenglisch zu verfallen. Wir sind nicht hungrig aufgestanden, allerdings fehlten dem Curry die Schärfe und das eingelegte Rindfleisch war leider trocken und etwas zäh. Schweinebauch und Tofu waren sehr gut.

I wanted to order Bulgogi from the children menu, but they refused because they serve this only for children. I hate this kind of earning higher margin on dishes approach. Service was good. Prices are a little bit higher than average in this area. Bulgogi was better than average.
