The only good thing is the ambiance. The food, with all due respect, isn't worth the money. Sauces are made from ready-made powders, service is unfriendly. Never again.

There were two of us plus a dog. When I asked if we could get water for the dog, we were directed to pre-placed dog bowls with a hand signal, saying, "Water is available in the restrooms." Overall, the service was extremely curt and taciturn. We didn't feel welcome. There was nothing to complain about the food. Large portions at a fair price. The wine spritzer was served to me in a juice glass. I don't know if that's common practice, but in a wine-producing region, it seems inappropriate. Combined with the service, it wouldn't be a place we'd go back to again. A shame.

We didn't have high expectations due to the negative reviews and arrived at Martinshof without a reservation. When we politely asked for a table for two with our dog, we were lucky that one was available. Advance reservations are recommended. Our dog was also no problem and was greeted warmly. The wait for service, from ordering to the serving of drinks and food, was reasonable; we were rather surprised that it went so quickly. The food was delicious and lovingly presented. We can recommend this place.

The ambiance was truly special, the service very friendly and attentive. The wine was also good and reasonably priced. But that was about it for the positive impressions. An Aperol for €9.90 – sheer outrage! The tarte flambée looked visually appealing – unfortunately, it wasn't as tasty. Completely oversalted, the base covered with a thick layer of sour cream (less would have been more!), which unfortunately overpowered the flavor of the tarte flambée – in short, it was the worst tarte flambée I've had in a long time. Overall, one gets the impression that the main goal here is to attract tourists, who are generally less demanding and seriously believe they'll find Baden hospitality and culinary culture here...

The prices for a pre-arranged celebration ended up being significantly higher than agreed upon. The owner seemed neither warm nor approachable—as a guest, you don't really feel welcome. Overall, unfortunately, not a good host and not a positive dining experience. You get the feeling that the main goal here is to make a quick buck—you won't find any real culinary art here. The prices are high. It's okay for a tarte flambée while passing through, but I wouldn't recommend anything else.

Too many children around 30 years old, and a slope with no warning signs; the key word is traffic safety. Plus, the seating is awful. So we left without comment.

Hmm... a place with a rustic vintage ambiance inside and out in a great location... but with a lot of room for improvement in the service (including semi-rude replies/cutlery brought, handed over, and placed on the table "clean") and, above all, in the food selection (mostly/mainly convenience products)... filling, but in our opinion, the quality doesn't match the prices.

I lived in Freiburg 7 years & loved coming here & enjoying a nice lunch on their terrace while my son played in their terrace. Came back after 3 years away and while some things have changed the food and terrace remain lovely! Highly recommend!

Sehr schöne Location/Garten. Essen war gut - Wir hatten einen veganen Burger mit Pommes und ein Lamm Burger mit Pommes. Vieles kann man als Extras dazu bestellen, so auch die Toppings. Die Bedienung war freundlich. Unsere Getränke kamen sehr schnell, auch unser Essen war schnell da - trotz einer großen Bestellung eines Motoradclubs. Wir waren satt und zufrieden.

It's definitely worth a visit...I've been there three times now...Wusala with cheese (especially in these temperatures) was once again absolutely delicious and there was plenty of it...I can only recommend this restaurant...Keep up the good work.

Unfortunately, the quality of some of the food has deteriorated considerably. If I order rösti and get standardized, small, fried triangles, I don't want anything else. And then offering an Aperol Spritz for €9.90 is outrageous. It wouldn't even cost that much in a good hotel.

Today I was really disappointed with the meal. My wife ordered a schnitzel with fries and a small salad. The salad was plentiful and okay, but the schnitzel was tough and had way too much breading on it. The fries weren't salty, and half the food was left uncooked. Half the schnitzel would have been fine for me if it had been good meat. When I asked the waitress about the tough schnitzel, she said she'd have to tell my boss. Unfortunately, the negative reviews are true.

It's closed. That was our first reaction when we entered the farm. Okay, maybe 45 minutes before closing time is a bit too late. We'll try again in a few days. We're only serving inside today. Ich muss zugeben…ich war geschockt, als ich feststellen musste, was aus „meiner Martinshof Strauße“ geworden ist. Fangen wir damit an, dass sie gar keine „Strauße“ mehr ist, denn der Betreiber hat sich entschieden, sich vom Konzept der guten und selbst produzierten Produkte weg zu einer Imbissbude zu entwickeln. So gab es früher eine kleine und überschaubare Karte mit leckeren Gerichten und Produkten, die man auch im angrenzenden Hofladen kaufen konnte..also wirklich gute Gründe, den Weg hoch nach Ihringen auf sich zu nehmen. Heute hat die Karte 100 Seiten und man findet im Grunde vom Burger bis zum Wok-Gericht alles. Meine Überzeugung ist aber: wenn man zu viel anbietet, macht man nichts so richtig! Die Speisen müssen für jeden Wunsch vorbereitet sein und dann erwärmt werden. Frisch gekocht wird da nichts mehr. Nun ja - dann mussten wir feststellen, dass es das von mir so geliebte Martinshofpfännle nicht mehr gibt. Einfach von der sonst umfangreichen Karte genommen. Und obwohl man ein ähnliches Gericht anbietet, war man nicht bereit, die Pfanne an nur einem Punkt zu verändern. Die Bedienung war unflexibel, frech und gar nicht kundenorientiert. Am Nachbartisch wollte jemand wegen der doch kühlen Temperaturen in den Innenbereich wechseln…das war aber nicht möglich. Dort sei es leer und sie könne ja nicht überall sein. Obwohl sie bei jedem Gang immer durch den Innenbereich laufen muss. Die Preise sind im Verhältnis zu abnehmenden Qualität überproportional gestiegen. Wir haben gestern für 2 Spargelgerichte und ein Brot als Vorspeise knapp 100 EUR gezahlt. 6 Stangen dicker Spargel kosten hier ohne Beilage schon 23,80 EUR. Also ich kann die vielen schlechten Kritiken gut verstehen. Zusammengefasst: nichts mehr übrig von vergangenen Flair und der ehemals guten Qualität.

Let's start with the fact that it is no longer an "ostrich" at all, because the operator has decided to move away from the concept of good, self-produced products into a snack bar. There used to be a small and manageable menu with delicious dishes and products that you could also buy in the adjacent farm shop...so really good reasons to make the journey up to Ihringen. Today the menu has 100 pages and you can basically find everything from burgers to wok dishes. But my belief is: if you offer too much, you won't do anything right! The food must be prepared for every request and then heated up. Nothing is cooked fresh anymore. Well - then we had to realize that the Martinshofpfännle that I loved so much no longer exists. Simply taken from the otherwise extensive menu. And despite offering a similar dish, they weren't willing to change the pan at just one point. The service was inflexible, rude and not at all customer-oriented. Someone at the next table wanted to move indoors because of the cool temperatures... but that wasn't possible. It's empty there and she can't be everywhere. Although she always has to walk through the indoor area every time she goes. Prices have risen disproportionately in relation to declining quality. Yesterday we paid almost 100 EUR for 2 asparagus dishes and a bread starter. 6 stalks of thick asparagus cost just EUR 23.80 without a side dish. So I can understand the many bad reviews. In summary: nothing left of the past flair and the formerly good quality.

Wonderful ambience. Unfortunately, the service and food cannot compete in any way. In such an atmosphere you would expect warm hospitality and loving homemade details when eating (e.g. good farmer's bread instead of cheap wholesale market goods). It used to go more in this direction, but now there is no sign of it anymore. Too bad!

After a beautiful day, we wanted to end our evening here. When we arrived at 7:30 p.m. we were turned away because the kitchen was already closed. Unfortunately it doesn't match the notice at all. Warm food until 9 p.m. Maybe We were lucky if you read the other reviews... We won't be coming back.

Nicht mal den flammenkuchen können sie heiss servieren. Der Service verschwindet und haut nach drinnen ab. Die wirtsleute haben. Ihren Beruf verfehlt ich würde mich schämen für so ein ?????? Soviel 💰 zu verlangen. Der wirt müsste einem für das Essen noch Geld bezahlen.

We stopped by on a Friday while hiking to get some refreshments. Unfortunately, part of the food we ordered was delivered incorrectly. No apology or anything like that. Then the fried potatoes were burnt black on one side and inedible. The fried potatoes were served with the burnt side down. We asked the waitress about it and said there was nothing she could do. She brushed off the criticism. She suggested we could write a negative review. There were only three tables occupied, so it wasn't busy.

Nice location and pleasant to sit outside. Anyone who can cope with slow service, bad spaetzle, schnitzel and ready-made sauce at high prices will be happy. Maybe tarte flambée and burgers are better.

We were here as part of a short hike. It was bright sunshine and we sat outside. Unfortunately, we were informed that there was no service outside and that you couldn't take food outside. So we moved to the restaurant. There we were moved again by the landlord to make room for as many guests as possible. Remember, everything was free outside. The restaurant is cozy, the ambience is OK. The same cannot be said about the food. This is below average at best. Schupfnudeln with sauerkraut: far too greasy, the Schupfnudeln - a convenience product - too soft. The cabbage was mixed in but not fried. The bacon wasn't bacon but rather Black Forest ham. In principle it's not a problem if you know what you're doing. But there was so much bacon on the Schupfnudeln that the whole dish was too salty. Failed. Cheeseburger: a discount bun with a standard patty and slices of cheese(!). It was small too and for just under €11. Serving the burger on a slate board doesn't help either. Side dishes are not included with the burger. A separately ordered lamb's lettuce was served with a glass - the volume of a coffee cup. The dressing was either a ready-made dressing or was mixed together completely carelessly but certainly not seasoned. And what's the point of putting a quarter slice of rosé grapefruit on it? Schnitzel with fries. The fries were excellent, the breading of the schnitzel was good. The schnitzel itself was too dry. These three dishes with 3 x lemon soda and a beer cost just under €70. Too much in my opinion. Otherwise the map is far too big and contains very strange things. Burgers, tarte flambée, goose dishes, raclettes, french fries dishes, ... If there is a full house, the quality can't work. Sweet potato fries are served in a glass, burgers on slate plates, etc. The Martinshof has to decide what they want to be. Inn / restaurant / ostrich / hipster cuisine. Nothing fits together. When we left the restaurant, we saw that it was possible to eat outside in the sun. They could have told us yes after they had previously denied us that. Conclusion: Nice atmosphere, poor cuisine with a lot of finished products that doesn't know what it wants to represent, too expensive. Service not exactly friendly and not very authentic. Well, what if there is no consistent style at all. It's a shame, I still know the Martinshof as good ostriches. It's OK to have a drink outside in the sun.

Went to Martinshof Ihringen for lunch on a weekday. It was very busy and finding a place was only possible with the help of the staff. The inn is really very rustic. However, the sanitary facilities gave the same impression. The food was really excellent and the wait for it was short despite the restaurant being full. Thank you for the fast and friendly service. Outside there is a beautifully landscaped garden where, when the weather is nice, a lot of guests can sit down. The Martinshof is located just outside of Ihringen. However, there are enough parking spaces available.

Turning away hikers is abysmal. You run all day and look forward to a nice finish. Beer garden empty, side room empty, only reserved tables inside. Were sent away. As a hiker, it's stupid because you can't just go to the next location. Too bad. Reconsider service.

We were a large group of 42 people, when we parked you could see the empty cardboard boxes with the ready-made fried potatoes in them lying in a corner, something like that just doesn't work. Pollock fillet with potato salad is all just ready-made tarte flambée not really warm and the schnitzel just tastes like fat and is outrageous for the prices. Conclusion: Anyone who cooks with ready-made products should close the shop

Nice location, but: Stopped by on a bike ride on Sunday and wanted something to drink. We already got a hint from other guests outside that there was only food inside and at the table. But the ostriches are full. Well, I thought. Four adults and five children may be too many, but one person? Well, even one person doesn't get anything despite having a seat at the counter, just at the table. When I asked if I would take the beer with me, I received a curt answer: There is only service at the table and they are all full. If you don't want my money, you won't get it. And that was the second and final rejection, the first was in the spring. I'm NOT coming back!!!!

The location is very pretty. I should have been hesitant when choosing the dish. Which restaurant offers an onion cake baguette? One who cannot make even a simple dough for onion cake and has to resort to ready-made meals. That's how it tasted too. The baguette was dry and the onion cake topping had no taste. The “Neue Süße” served with it tasted like hair shampoo. Unfortunately not recommended!

We spontaneously stopped by the Martinshof this afternoon after biking. We were looking for a sunny table, but were told by other guests that tables with leaning chairs were no longer allowed to be occupied. It was 4:00 p.m., a far cry from kitchen closing time (9:00 p.m.). We sat down at a high table and waited, two waitresses tidied up, rearranged chairs and gradually removed seat cushions. We were only served after asking. We didn't feel welcome, but we still ordered beer and two mixed platters. The drinks came quickly and the food followed. When the food was brought to us, the plates were carelessly put down and the cutlery was thrown onto the table in front of us without a napkin. We were not offered napkins, salt or pepper. The food was good and we enjoyed it, but unfortunately the service was subpar. The toilets looked extremely unkempt, a shame! Unfortunately we cannot recommend the idyllic Martinshof, hospitality unfortunately looks different!!

Unfortunately, the food wasn't served quite hot and it took around an hour for the food to arrive. Service was so-so, you can notice the lack of staff. All in all, still highly recommended ,we'll be back.Oh, be sure to reserve seats in advance.

Wir (4-köpfige Familie mit 2 Jungs, 11 und 13) waren schon häufiger hier, da das Essen gut ist und hier ein guter Start- und Endpunkt für Ausflüge ist. Der Service war schon immer eher schlecht (unfreundlich und null Flexibilität bzgl. Bestellungen), aber heute war es definitiv das letzte Mal: nach einer fünfstündigen Wanderung wollte mein jüngerer Sohn gerne eine Wurst mit Pommes essen (beides gibt es grundsätzlich auf der Speisekarte, aber nicht in der Kombination). Er wurde daraufhin von der Bedienung eiskalt belächelt und mit den Worten, die Speisekarte wäre groß genug abgewiesen. Daraufhin war er etwas traurig und bestellte schließlich etwas anderes. Kurze Zeit später hörten wir die Bedienung (eine ältere Frau, sehr steif und förmlich) mit dem Chef und der anderen Bedienung darüber lästern, was für schreckliche Gäste wir wären und dass das Mädchen (mein Sohn) wie ein Baby geheult hätte, weil der Wunsch nicht erfüllt werden konnte. Sie sagte dann noch zu der anderen Bedienung, dass diese ja auch rumheulen könne, wenn etwas mal nicht so läuft wie gewünscht. Mal abgesehen von dem fürchterlichen Service war das dermaßen unprofessionell und unverschämt, dass wir hier sicher nie wieder einkehren werden. Entsetzt waren wir vor allem, dass der Chef seine Bedienung hierbei nicht klar gesagt hat, dass das ein absolut inakzeptables Verhalten ist.

She then said to the other waitress that she could cry if something didn't go as planned. Apart from the terrible service, it was so unprofessional and disgraceful that we will definitely never come here again. We were particularly horrified that the boss didn't clearly tell his waitress that this was absolutely unacceptable behavior.

Today, unfortunately I waited over an hour for food, then the burger 🍔, unfortunately back, a shoe sole, tough and hard. After consulting with the chef, no nice answer or no other food was offered to us, very unfriendly. Conditions very unfriendly, dining room covered in disgusting spider webs, sticky tables, no we will never eat there again, we no longer recommend this restaurant, unfortunately no star.

He was clearing another table, I asked him for a minute, which he reluctantly gave me. I explained my concern and he wanted to refer me to the waitress. I didn't let myself be brushed off. After I explained what it was about, he shrugged his shoulders. I said it would be nice if I got part of the money paid or the missing part of the drink. His answer: then we'll do it. Sorry, that's not possible, you won't satisfy your guests that way. So, be careful, people, whether you get what's on the menu.

Well, it goes like this: Mix plate with sausage salad: Sausage salad doesn't taste like anything - it's missing salt, pepper, vinegar, oil, sausage is a cheap, tasteless product - potatoes are a spongy convenience product, some burnt, some cold and unseasoned, you can let Bibilis cheese pass ... And what's the purpose of the fruit on the plate - melon lying in the drippings of the potatoes and a fingernail-sized piece of orange on the sausage salad (in June...) - what's the point?

We stopped outside in the rustic courtyard in the afternoon at 4:30 p.m. and had a delicious meal. Everything was very tasty and appetizingly prepared. The waitress was friendly and had the service under control. We will keep coming back!

Food: Small burgers and the cheese fries totally dry. If you're hungry you should look for something else. The service doesn't have an eye for drinks (despite repeated requests from the staff, there was no more to drink - a no-go on hot days with children) and if you want to order something out of the order, then the boss has to come. The ambience is OK. I find the hill a bit critical because the kids like to throw large stones down or when they climb up there they fall right into the garden. The little climbing frame could easily be expanded in this space.

We (large group, ages between 10 and 70) were absolutely thrilled with the Martinshof. The menu is huge, the food is sumptuous - the price/performance ratio is totally right. The ambience is great and with attention to detail. The waitress was all alone and had the store completely under control. We will be back.

The atmosphere is very nice, especially for children. The food is too expensive and too salty. Less on the memory card would make sense, then you could work on the quality. It's a shame we won't be coming anymore

During the spring hike around Lilietal, we spontaneously stopped at Martinshof for a tarte flambée and white wine spritzer. There was a lot going on outside and inside. The food and drinks came quickly. It is very cozy and the old kitchen utensils give an idea of ​​what it used to be like under the roof. The prices are also not as outrageous as in Freiburg. We'll be back.😊

The place is fantastic. The food is good. But if the weather is nice, you should definitely make a reservation in advance. The staff are often only temporary staff and cannot give any information about how long you have to wait before a table becomes available. Even after asking when the other guests had reserved, even though there were free tables on site, there was unfortunately no information. Slightly overwhelmed ;). So if you hike nearby, you shouldn't be sure about getting a place here. Normally Ostriches do not accept reservations in the region for precisely these reasons.

You can be overwhelmed for a short time, especially if you are traveling with children.

A nice place to stay, great play opportunities for children. Food really great and delicious 😋
