Very fresh and delicious food. Beautiful surroundings and ambiance.

I don't understand some of the reviews. Surely they could replace one or two of the umbrellas. Today we were glad we even had one. But!!! We received very friendly service and the food was delicious and quite inexpensive. (And everything else I saw while passing by also looked very good.) Half a liter of wine for under €7!! Half a liter of mineral water for €3 In conclusion, we were very satisfied and can only recommend the Strauss. Screw those umbrellas.

We had a great time on Sunday around 6 p.m. At first, there was only room inside – then the waitress came over and asked if we wanted to sit outside in the nice weather – there was a spot available. The portions are very large, so we shared a sausage salad. There was also a very tasty strawberry punch. Be patient with the service. We'll definitely be back.

The food (asparagus with Kratzete (pancake pieces), schnitzel, and hollandaise sauce) arrived lukewarm. The plate was so full that the sauce didn't stay in the plate. The asparagus was so overcooked and soaked in water that it hung over the fork like a limp noodle. I complained about the meal and got a new one. It was hot, but the asparagus was just as overcooked, and the plate was again overloaded. Sorry, but quality over quantity would definitely be better here. It doesn't help if you get a €5 discount when paying. You can certainly do better.

The wines are highly recommended, but the food is also nothing to be ashamed of.

The rotten parasols and tablecloths unfortunately spoiled the ambiance. The asparagus was obviously peeled by machine; there were a few woody sprigs in the asparagus salad. Otherwise, the food was good and plentiful.

Because of the good reviews we reserved a table. Conclusion: The service was alone, but still friendly and she did her best and tried very hard. Unfortunately, Secco in a cheap 0.1l tube glass doesn't work as an ostrich in a wine region. I recommend a simple tasting glass for a few cents, it's more fun to drink from. The juice spritzer was very thin and had crystalline residue in the glass. Okay with wine, but please not in juice. The sausage salad was completely over salted, unfortunately it wasn't fried potatoes, it was more like boiled potatoes and heavily seasoned. The curd was OK. An exhaust system would be good for the cold months when you sit inside, because we left straight after dinner because the smoke and haze from the kitchen in the dining room was unfortunately unbearable. In addition, there is a lot of noise in the guest room and seems very cool. Maybe a little decoration on the walls could create a homely atmosphere. It's a shame for us and the short evening. But I think in summer it's wonderful to stay outside with the attractive terrace.

One of the best farms in the region. Down-to-earth and super friendly owners. The cuisine is typically Baden and leaves nothing to be desired. Absolutely recommended.

The very last thing, there were free tables and we just wanted something to drink after a long bike tour and we were told that no one would be serving us today and that we should come back another time.

Everything was fine. The food was as expected. The service was nice and friendly. The ambience was good. The wine (red wine, burgundy) is excellent.

I'm always confused when I read the reviews. You drive into an ostrich and criticize the service. Hello an ostrich is privately run. Family business. Simple, delicious meals for hikers and cyclists. Local cuisine. Cozy atmosphere in your own home. So I can only say it's all good. Just be careful with the portions. Look at the pictures on the internet. They are real. Just good. Definitely coming back.

Quite ok, service a bit chaotic in places. Typical ostrich food. There is an option to sit outside. Been there again after 1 year. Now another star deducted everywhere. Rather unfriendly, depressed atmosphere in the interior. It's a shame because the location is great. Overall, I wasn't particularly convinced, there are much better ostriches with friendly and motivated service.

Schnitzel was frozen food, potato salad was a ready-made product from the supermarket/discounter. Service was very nice!! The lady from the kitchen was very unkempt and visibly overwhelmed.

Top service, very good food, everything made in-house. Including the delicious pork schnitzel. Great served with vegetables and herbs. Very beautiful bouquets in the garden. We really enjoy being here and will be back next year like we have been for years!!!!

The food was really very good and the location has a southern flair. Unfortunately the service was poor. The waitresses were pretty unfriendly. It was open until 9 p.m., but after 8:15 p.m. we didn't get any more drinks and it was already cleared away. Our request for drinks was answered with a simple NO, we're clearing away now. That wasn't so nice. Almost like being kicked out. It's a shame. We wouldn't come back again.

These ostriches are recommended

During our vacation we visit as many ostrich taverns as possible, but we have never experienced anything like this anywhere else. A tone like in the barracks yard, beneath all dignity. The food wasn't anything special either, the wine... well. We won't be coming here again.

Everything from our own production. Very nice and very committed hosts and very good price/performance ratio. Were here three times in a row.

We were turned away because there were supposedly not enough staff. There were still a number of seats outside but unfortunately only reservations. Inside there was still plenty of space but we weren't allowed to sit down. The staff wasn't particularly friendly either, or even the owner was. In any case, I cannot recommend this location because the staff did not respond in a customer-friendly manner.

Yesterday we finally went to the Südhof again. The food was great as always. Like last year, the plum punch was very tasty! As usual, the service was friendly and quick and reliable despite the terrace being completely full! Simply the best ostriches in Ihringen!! We will be back :)

Wir waren heute Abend als 3 Erwachsene mit 2 kleinen Kindern dort. Es war sehr nett. Der Service war sehr freundlich, alles ging sehr zügig und das Essen entsprach unseren Erwartungen 😊 Wir gehen auf jeden Fall wieder hin😊

In Ordnung, nichts besonderes. Auch wenn es eine Weingegend ist würde ich mehr Sterne geben, wenn es wenigstens Bier geben würde. Dann würden eher alle Gäste etwas finden und man kann auch mit einer Gruppe besser kommen. So komme ich nicht wieder.

Wirtsleute und Bedienung super freundlich. Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis. Diese Strausse ist absolut empfehlenswert. Schwartenmagen der Hit.

Richtig leckere Spargelgerichte

Für eine Straussenwirtschaft ist das einfach toll. Sehr guter Wein, gutes Essen und das alles echt preiswert. Die Plätze im Freien sind Mega

Wein Spitze Personal freundlich Essen gut Preiswert Angenehmes Ambiente - Das Lokal ist dem Kaiserstuhl Camping Platz am nächsten gelegen und wird von deren Gästen gern angesteuert. Dieser Platz ist auch Mitte Oktober und wahrscheinlich noch viel länger gut besucht. Von daher wäre der Betrieb des Südhofs sicher noch eine Weile rentabel. Trotzdem schloss er am 3.10. Schade :-)

Gute Küche zu vernünftigen Preisen. Idyllisch gelegen. Es werden wo möglich hofeigene Produkte verwertet. Die Lanfwirtsfamilie kocht und bedient grösstenteils selbst. Badisch herzlich urig gut.

Wir waren heute das 1. Mal bei Ihnen. Ich muss sagen..sehr nett höflich und das Essen topp..wir hatten den Käseteller. Die anderen Gerichte soweit ich sehen konnte. Mit viel Liebe zum Detail serviert. Weiter so. Wir kommen gewiss x mal wieder..

Leckeres Essen z.B 2 Schnitzel mit Kartoffelsalat (Hausgemacht),auch der Wurstsalat mit Brägele. Außerdem ein freundliches Personal wir kommen gerne wieder

Waren schon wiederholt zu Gast. Qualität und Portion des Essens top, zudem schön angerichtet. Wir wurden bestens bedient. Generationenwechsel. Den Senioren wünschen wir gute Besserung. Freuen uns auf den nächsten Besuch.

Leider auch in Corona - Zeiten nicht. Wirtin und Bedienung nicht Wetterfest. Geht auch anders. Es gibt Betriebe, die haben es kapiert!

Liebe Leser/Inen, hier meine Beobachtung und eindrücke der Strauße Südhof in Ihringen. Der Außenbereich hat mir gut gefallen schön gemacht, innen hat der Raum eine sehr helle Akustik der ich gerne nach draußen entflohen bin. Der Zwiebelkuchen kam leider leblos auf den Tisch, was ich meine ist, der Zwiebelkuchen hatte überhaupt keine Bräunung die verriet das er in einem Ofen war. Mein Weißwein dazu kam prompt auf den Tisch, mir fehlen hier die Worte mein erstes riechen am Wein hat mich an einen Ufergeruch an einem See erinnert. Aber machen Sie ihre eigenen Erfahrungen, vielleicht haben Sie mehr Glück als ich.

Venant de la région de Colmar avions réservé par précaution une table pour quatre personnes le vendredi pour le dimanche soir. Quelle fût notre surprise d'apprendre que celle ci a déjà été donnée du fait que nous avions vingt minutes de retard . On nous a bien proposé la salle mais qu'il aura de l'attente et par ce beau temps nous voulions quand même profiter de la terrasse. Grosse déception , sommes repartis .

2019 für eine kleine Rast ideal. Äußerlich zwar keine Hofatmosphäre, aber die kleinen Gerichte sind in Ordnung. Sehr leckerer Pfannkuchen mit Apfelmus und auch der Salat mit Schafskäse schmeckte gut. 2020 Gastgeber mit etwas harschem Ton . Das Essen war so, dass ich nicht noch einmal dort etwas nehmen werde. 2 Würste mit Kartoffelsalat: Die Wurstmasse zerfiel und der Kartoffelsalat war aus geriebenen Kartoffeln ohne jeden Geschmack, daher nur mal davon etwas gekostet. Jetzt weiß ich, weshalb Einheimische dort in der Minderheit sind. Da ist auch der riesige Zwiebelkuchen, der für 2 Personen gereicht hätte, kein Ausgleich gewesen. Schade, dass die Qualität meiner bestellten Speisen nicht allgemeinen Standards entsprach . Für ein Getränk auf der Terrasse reicht es jedenfalls, um eine kleine Rast zu machen.
