Unabhängig davon dass der Gastraum nicht gemütlich ist ( in die Jahre gekommen!), der Service ist eine Katastrophe! Reh auf der Speisekarte gibt es erst am nächten Tag! Hauptgänge wurden vergessen und nach mehr als einer Stunde Wartezeit keine Entschuldigung! Die Chefin ist sich zu schade, das Missgeschick zu erklären! Auf der Rechnung ,die wir ohne Hauptgang erhalten zu haben, stehen alle Hauptgänge! Nie wieder!

Not only did we have to wait a long time, but the tables around us were served before us even though they came a little later. That can happen, but after we politely pointed it out the second time, an apology would have been appropriate and not just a "You'll be there soon." Wasn't that good. Can be done better.

I read about the new tenants in the BZ. After looking at the food and drink menu, it was clear that we would try it out. The atmosphere is cozy and not aloof. The seating in the two guest rooms is very narrow and the noise level is high. The restaurant was well attended. The offer is okay, what is on the menu is served on the plate. It doesn't taste good, it doesn't exist. The menu can also be taken in a vegetarian version using the options on the menu. There is no amusement or greeting from the kitchen. Bread only against payment. There is no need to change cutlery during courses. Okay, you can live with that. Rich selection of good wines. Regional beers are also available. The service is good and attentive. Conclusion: Good country cuisine with a modern touch. What comes out of the kitchen tastes good. Can you recommend it?

Der Dekor des Restaurants erinnert an die 80iger Jahre und es fehlt etwas Gemütlichkeit. Unsere Vorspeise kam relativ schnell, aber ein lokaler Wein den wir bestellt hatten war ungenießbar, dieser wurde von der Bedienung folgendermaßen substituiert. Wir warteten 1 Stunde bis unser Hauptgang serviert wurde. Wir hatten 2 verschiedene Gänge, beide reichhaltig aber fade/geschmacklos.

Ausser dem Essen, das einigermaßen der Erwartung entsprach, war alles andere wirklich miserabel! Nach Ankunft (in Thekennähe) kümmert sich niemand, danach werden Gäste, die nach uns kommen vorrangig bedient, wir können keine Bestellung aufgeben, während die erwähnten Gäste bereits ihr Getränk serviert bekommen. Auf eine diesbezügliche Beschwerde wird die Bestellung eines Aperitivs (2 Gläser Sekt) zwar entgegen genommen, aber nicht ausgeführt, und so ging es weiter, ich möchte hier keinen Roman schreiben. Wir empfanden diesen Abend als absolut drittklasisg und haben so einen miserablen Service in 50 Jahren bisher noch nicht erlebt. Nie wieder !!!!

Nicht zu empfehlen und überteuert. Mit großer Arroganz und sehr unfreundlich wurden von der Besitzerin Fragen nach Kaffeezubereitung auf Zimmer („Um Gottes Willen, da muss man ja nur saubermachen“) oder auch zum Frühstücksbuffet („Geflügelwurst gibt es bei uns nicht, nur Schwein“) zurückgewiesen, was man als Gast bei den überteuerten Preisen pro Zimmer durchaus erwarten KANN. Gästewünsche sind denen also völlig egal. Einmal und nie wieder.

Excellent cuisine and a very friendly atmosphere - the new team is doing a great job! Accommodation in the quiet, newly renovated guest house is very comfortable. When booking online, don't be put off by any error messages from the current service provider, but contact the hotel directly.

I celebrated my 81st birthday today with 7 friends and everyone was very happy with the food as well as the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. Just a suggestion: The separation from the former adjoining room should at least be made with a pane of glass in order to better separate the noises from the two rooms.

We've eaten there several times over the past few years, today for the first time since it reopened. And we have to say: simply very good! The strikingly young team is doing everything right. Really recommended.

A small, very, very fine menu. There is something for every taste. Everything was extremely creatively prepared and tasted excellent. The young service staff is very attentive and friendly. We'll be back - promise.

It was our first time at the Goldener Engel, which has been under new management for a few weeks - the communication and reception were very friendly - the room was clean, comfortable and had a large balcony - very tasty and varied breakfast buffet (only one was missing for my taste real black breakfast tea) - the dinner was excellent and the service was provided by the friendly young team very good. Nice wine selection of local wines. A few small bottles or a wider range by the glass would be fantastic. We'll be back. We wish the new owners and the team much joy and success.

The two of us went to the restaurant twice in quick succession; we only know the hotel from the outside. The team's friendliness and willingness to help was evident right from the start, when the young boss personally led us to the parking lot in the courtyard. The new furnishings of the old traditional house are tastefully modern, with bare tables but cloth napkins and designer lamps and vases. Where possible, the beautiful old dishes with the angel logo are integrated. The menu is pleasantly small, but offers something for every taste, whether traditional Baden or modern. What is striking is the wine list with extremely fairly priced bottled wines, including always the latest vintage of the white ones. It's clear that the neighbor Heger dominates. The food was completely enjoyable to excellent. Sweetbreads, offered far too rarely, are one of my favorite dishes and were served in properly sized bites breaded on braised salad with a green sauce. What followed was the most tender veal tripe I have ever eaten. I wouldn't call it Sulz, because this Baden specialty has a different character just from the way it's prepared. Also as far as the sauce is concerned - it's incredibly rich here, but delicious. There was also Brägele, crispier than crispy. We can also highly recommend the Spätzle with truffles from Gretzmeier and the Wiener Schnitzel with a gravy that has been reduced for 72 (!) hours. We only saw satisfied to happy guests in the restaurant on the two evenings. Next door, a big birthday was celebrated by locals who were happy that the “angel” was open again. They were given snacks with bacon and Bible cheese to go with the champagne and were in a great mood. We didn't remember your menu. All in all, this new opening is a true enrichment of our dining scene. Some things still need slight improvement. For example, we missed bread and butter or greetings from the kitchen to get us in the mood for the whole thing. What bothered us a bit was an indefinable radio station that was always audible in the background. We also found that some tables were very close to each other. But these are small discrepancies that can be quickly resolved. We look forward to the next visit.

It was our first time visiting and we were thrilled. The food was excellent and prepared with love. The staff were also attentive and friendly. The only improvement for me would be the dining room, which doesn't quite reflect the quality of the kitchen. Nevertheless, you feel extremely comfortable and sit comfortably. We'll be back!

Great ambience. We were impressed by the very good and honest cuisine, as well as the relaxed and super friendly atmosphere that the young team spread. Everything went perfectly. The overnight stay and the small and very tasty breakfast buffet were also great. We felt completely comfortable and in good hands. Gladly again. 😊

As a gifted amateur cook, I can only say CHAPEAU! The cucumber soup was terrific, the roast beef was wonderfully pink, the sauce was super awesome and then the peach compote came from white or maybe blood peaches? with the sorrel ice cream, another highlight. Ein Lokal mit sehr gutem Geschmack und blitz sauberer Küche! Preis-/Leistung Tipp-Top für die bodenständige einheimische traditionelle, frische Küche! ( ohne Geschmacksverstärker) mit dazu erlesener Weinkarte. Die vor August stehenden Bewertungen können eigentlich gelöscht werden! (Neue Betreiberin) Am Kaiserstuhl ein neuer Stern, für Ihringen einen Segen!!! Dem jungen Team wünsche ich weiterhin alles gute und wir kommen gerne jederzeit wieder!

Mega cool team, mega delicious food, great hotel. The overall concept is very cozy and inviting, the employees are super friendly and accommodating. The Angel is simply recommended and always worth a trip!

We used to stay and eat at the Goldener Engel several times and were always very satisfied. Now that it has reopened, we are thrilled with the young and very friendly team, there is nothing to complain about in terms of both the service and the excellent food. Very good successor. We'd love to come back!

We had lunch at Gasthaus Engel with 19 people. Food and service is top 👍. If I come to this area again we will definitely go there again.

There were six of us here - the food tasted great and was very nicely presented (the side dishes could have been a little more generous). The service was absolutely friendly and attentive. What was a bit unpleasant was the high noise level (the place was full) - perhaps that could be improved with insulation material. We will definitely come back and are very happy that the angel is continuing!

Great reboot! We have been there twice in August and are simply thrilled. The "new" food is fantastic. Finely cooked, with lightness, modern touches and yet classic and traditional. We think the wine list is excellent! Despite opening two weeks ago, the service is already in great shape - the atmosphere of the service team and the good mood that everyone spreads are particularly great. It's so beautiful when passion spills over. THANK YOU to the dear new angel hostess & the wonderful angel team for existing! We'll be back soon.

There were three of us at Engel and we were absolutely thrilled! The service was incredibly friendly and the boss Emma takes care of her guests with dedication. The chef Simon and his team absolutely impressed us with their culinary delights! Despite having to travel a little further, we would come back at any time :-)

Extremely brilliant cuisine. World-class specialties prepared with finesse, from veal sweetbreads to Leberle and truffle spaetzle, and there are also small goodies on the menu for a snack. The house also has a large wine selection with a wide selection with a focus on Kaiserstuhl. You will still hear from this address.

We had dinner with you with five people. Everyone was extremely enthusiastic. Not only from the very friendly staff, but also from the food prepared with a lot of passion. Every course had something special. The freshness of the ingredients, the creativity of the chefs and the way the courses were prepared were not only tasted but also seen. The Golden Angel is beautifully located, we sat in the courtyard which is very inviting. Everyone from the service team greeted us very nicely and was very friendly the entire evening. Points are deducted for the slight chaos that prevailed. For example, two of our group ordered the same dessert, but only one arrived. The second one was only brought when we asked.

An absolute highlight! When we visited the new opening, we were immediately greeted by the young, dynamic and extremely friendly staff. The service was courteous and always attentive without being intrusive. We were completely impressed by the food - good home-style German cuisine is taken to a new level here. Every course was not only a visual delight, but also tasted at the highest level. Particularly noteworthy is the beautiful and quiet outdoor area, which invites you to linger. Here you can unwind and enjoy the fantastic food in a relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely be back and can highly recommend this restaurant!

Wir hatten auf der Homepage einen Tisch für vier Personen am Eröffnungstag reserviert. Am Eingang zum Hof wurden wir freundlich empfangen und zu unserem Tisch begleitet. Das Restaurant war vollkommen ausgebucht und das neue Team hatte einiges zu tun und für den ersten Abend einen tollen Service geliefert. Die Leber mit Brägele und der Saibling mit dem Risotto mundeten uns sehr gut. Die Portionen könnten etwas größer sein. Vollkommen überrascht waren wir von der äußerst umfangreichen Weinkarte. Hier ist wohl für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei, egal ob Kaiserstuhl, Baden, Deutschland oder internationale Weine, hier wird jeder fündig. Es war ein rundum gelungener Besuch, auf den bestimmt bald ein Zweiter folgt.

Very tasty home-style cooking. Salad was also excellent. We had our wedding reception here and were now lucky enough to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary here. Excellent appetizer menu and perfect timing! had pumpkin cream soup, snail pancakes and cauliflower medallions.

Waren gestern Abend dort. Essen ist ok. Leider für die Zahl der Kunden viel zu wenig Personal. Mit einem Hinweis es wird 1 Stunde dauern bis das Essen kommt und das war an den meisten Tischen so, hätten wir wählen können ob wir bleiben oder nicht. Schade

Wir gehen einmal im Monat essen und probieren jedes Mal ein anderes Restaurant oder eine Strausse. Der Abend heute war rundum gelungen und mit Abstand das beste Restaurant in letzter Zeit. Das Essen , das Dessert , der Service ... könnte ich 10 Sterne geben , ich würde es tun. Sehr zu empfehlen und auch gleich auf die Liste zum wiederholen gesetzt. Wir - 7 Weinfreunde/innen auf Weinreise im Kaiserstuhl - haben hier gegessen. Ansprechende Speisekarte, große Auswahl, qualitativ gut und frisch. Hervorragend: "Saure Leberle!" Sehr guter Service, ausgewogenes Preis- /Leistungsverhältnis. Wir waren alle vollauf zufrieden, sind deshalb 2 x zum Essen gekommen, was nicht immer so ist.

Gutes traditionelles Restaurant mit gut bürgerlicher Küche, alles so wie es sein muss. Es hat mich wieder an meine Kindheit erinnert, gutes Fleisch, Spätzle, Kroketten und Pommes dazu eine nette Bedienung, was will man mehr.

Das Essen ist super gewesen, 10 Leute und wir konnten zusammen Essen, der Kellner ist entweder etwas muffig oder sehr schüchtern. Auf Menschen zugehen muss er noch lernen.

Anhand der Bewertungen erwarteten wir etwas mehr. Bis auf ein paar Stammgäste und die Familie, die im angrenzenden Speisesaal das Abendessen einnahm, waren wir die einzigen Gäste. Der Service war eher etwas unfreundlich, obwohl gegen Schluss das Eis etwas gebrochen war. Das Essen war guter Durchschnitt. Die Spätzle waren etwas klebrig und das gepökelte Fleisch doch sehr salzig.

Sind nach einer Wanderung im Restaurant untergekommen. Das Essen war gut bürgerlich zu normalen Preisen. An diesem Abend waren noch ein paar Winzer die Musik gemacht haben. War einfach klasse. Der Geschäftsführer kam noch zu uns an den Tisch und hat sich mit uns unterhalten und eine Runde Wein ausgegeben. Wir haben uns sehr heimisch gefühlt. Weiter so!

Bedienung sehr unfreundlich, fühlten uns total unwohl. Das Frühstück lieblos serviert. Wir sind noch nie so unfreundlich in einem Hotel empfangen worden.
