We visited at 26th of October the food was amazing but the service was the worst it was late and the place manager attitude was so bad as we requested an English menu which they didn’t have and we requested WiFi service and the manager told us that it’s not available then we found out that it was available We talked to the manager and his attitude was so aggressive and didn’t want to cooperate Will never go there again with such attitude

It used to be so good, the “Maredo” at the Hauptwache. That's it for now. It's a shame, another restaurant that is trying to abolish itself! Bad, slow service, ordered drinks, soups and side dishes not brought to the table and not even pointed out or apologized for the food not brought. When paying, you had to ask specifically whether you were paying for the food and drinks that were not brought! What actually needs to be mentioned by the service during the payment process. I could only shake my head at how you are treated as a guest here. Steak and hamburgers were good and is to be expected from a steakhouse.

A medium-sized chain restaurant that has declined in size. The service is extremely bad. We ordered soda and received a bottle of soda without gas. We asked for change and got a hot soda. We ordered spareribs and received them after half an hour completely cold. Every time we looked for a waiter it took them about 10 minutes to look at us and come. The food itself was average. In the past I ate several times at Mardo. Today was unfortunately the last time.

Maredo used to be pretty good, but it's not the same anymore.

We actually enjoy coming, but what we experienced yesterday afternoon was unpleasant. Our waitress was already annoyed when the couple at the next table asked if they could order drinks. We had to wait for three quarters of an hour for our food until it arrived lukewarm. When we asked why it would take so long, we only got the flippant answer: “You can see how full it is here.” What we saw was a restaurant that was about 50% full... We understand for everything, for a lack of staff in the service area, for understaffing in the kitchen. We just want it explained in a friendly way.

Prepare the wall to Yao Xiaofei, but still have the time to give little

Definitely a nice place to go if u want a nice view of the city or if you are craving for a nice piece of meet. They normally have some weekly deals, in this opportunity the weekly deal was even better that the Rib-eye meet. Side dishes are on top in price and not really that big. If you want to go on busy hours better to have a reservation

We have never been to this branch before. So far we have only had experience with one of the other locations. I am extremely disappointed. The waitresses almost ignored us throughout the entire visit, reacted in a bad mood and showed no interest in the customers. The tables are totally sticky, the decorations were so stuck that at the beginning we thought the plant was stuck in place. After a while I noticed that it was probably on the surface of the table. But if you notice that as the owner, you can add placemats or tablecloths, right? After more than an hour our food finally arrived. The fries were cold, the spare ribs were okay. We were there before 8 p.m. and the coleslaw was already empty. Instead there were 3 leaves of lettuce and 1 dollop of sauce. On a Saturday evening that's a real shame. The toilets were totally untidy. It hasn't been cleaned for a while. Never again to this location. For the prices and reputation that other locations have, it's really a shame.

Nobody there to place me. Waited at a table in the almost empty restaurant... longer... then was rudely approached because we didn't wait to be seated at the front! Gone.

The food was delicious. The service of the waiter is impudent. The male waiter was unfriendly and impolite to the guests of the restaurant. When asked about the cooking time, he answered 3 hours and laughed and walked away. When asked where the toilet is, he replied that there is no toilet. For unknown reasons, the waiter addressed us as YOU, without respect. The service is terrible, and as I can see from the reviews, quite a lot of visitors are dissatisfied with the service. We were in this establishment for the first and last time. I do not recommend. With such high prices, such terrible service. Horror!!!

The food is ok. The table was dirty. Everything felt like it was in a fast restaurant. The main waiter was very unfriendly after only getting 2.20 euros in drinking money and he didn't have any work for us at all. A woman brought us to the table. He just took the order and cashed it. Service staff brought drinks and food. Unfortunately, you weren't asked if you would like anything else to drink.

A bad experience. I don't know what could be worse. The meat was cold, the shrimp was cold. The service was very amateurish. The waiter doesn't even know the cooking levels. And in the end we will also be accused of saying it too late. Maybe it would have been helpful if a waiter had asked every now and then whether everything was OK.

If I could I would give 0 stars. The food was tasteless and the service was subpar. The waiter brought the wrong side dish to our table and loudly claimed that the previous waiter had supposedly arranged this with us because our chosen side dish was not available. It's interesting that something like this is done without consultation, since there are people with allergies after all. The meat was cold and the shrimp inedible. We then sent them back. When we asked at the end why the quality had deteriorated so much, the waiter replied flippantly that the former management was bankrupt and that new management was now running the business. Afterwards, the waiter loudly emphasized that it was our own fault because we supposedly didn't say anything. I have never experienced such unprofessional service in my life. When I commented on this, the third waiter was sent to the table to collect us. Never again Maredo!

Wenn ich könnte würde ich 0 Sterne vergeben. Das Essen war geschmacklos und der Service unterirdisch. Der Kellner hat uns eine falsche Beilage an den Tisch gebracht und lautstark behauptet, dass der vorherige Kellner das angeblich mit uns abgesprochen hätte, weil unsere gewählte Beilage nicht verfügbar war. Interessant das sowas ohne Absprache gemacht wird, da es ja schließlich auch Menschen mit Allergien gibt. Das Fleisch war kalt und die Garnelen ungenießbar. Die haben wir dann auch zurück geschickt. Als wir am Ende nachgefragt haben, wieso die Qualität so nachgelassen hat, wurde uns vom Kellner flapsig geantwortet, dass die ehemalige Leitung insolvent ist und jetzt eine neue Leitung das Geschäft führt. Im Anschluss hat der Kellner lautstark betont, dass wir selbst schuld hätten, da wir angeblich nichts gesagt haben. Ich hab noch nie in meinem Leben eine solche Unprofessionalität im Service erlebt. Als ich dies anmerkte, wurde nun der dritte Kellner an den Tisch geschickt, um uns abzukassieren. Nie wieder Maredo!

I order Caesar salad with extra chicken meat. I get regular portions and pay extra meat, which I did not get. My friend order cake with white chocolate and get it with caramel. He wrote all orders in and again came wrong. I was expecting more. Service was not good at all!

So I was eating with my Faru at Maredo, I was so disappointed with the waiter at the entrance and asked if we could sit where André's table was. No, everything was reserved Tables were empty, that's really not a requirement, they should first know what a Kelner is, we specifically said that the meat should be cooked properly and not medium rare, they bring it medium rare, so I will never go to these restaurants again, they only have a name but no Service is not a problem. So for this price there is no performance reflected

The service was ok but meat was very bad. Dry and bad taste. Also prices are very expensive.

The double seat by the window can see the old building of Hauptwache, with a good view, a large restaurant, a great atmosphere, good service, and reasonable prices. However, the filet mignon seems to be overcooked frequently, and the fried mushrooms and fried zucchini in the sala bar are not as delicious as before the epidemic, too soft and not fragrant.

Was here on Thursday evening, great location with a great view of FFM. The service (Bezad - I hope it was spelled correctly) was super friendly, implemented all requests and deserves high praise!! A warm greeting to the kitchen! I ordered the steak medium and it arrived medium rare, which is not always the case in a steak house. I will be very happy to come back.

Very friendly and courteous staff. The service in particular was not comparable to other restaurants in the area. In general it was a very pleasant atmosphere and you immediately felt welcome. My flank steak was medium rare and the price was more than reasonable for what you get. The food was also delivered to the table in no time. I can only recommend it!

We had to wait a very long time for our food because we were forgotten. What happened next wasn't pretty. Two loveless pieces of schnitzel that look very much like convenience food. Unfortunately, they were just dripping with oil. It was more of a canteen than a steakhouse. The fries were okay, the ketchup was cold. The desert, however, was a real letdown. It should be crème brulee, which should be particularly impressive because of its crisp lid. Here it was crystallized more sensibly in two small places, the rest was soft. Pretty sure convenience here too. A waffle roll was also served, which is where things get disgusting. I wonder how long this will last was already in the air. It was completely soft and no longer had a crispy bite. That was unsavory. The waiter didn't ask if I liked it. When we paid at the end, I didn't leave a tip for understandable reasons. The waiter was really upset afterwards and didn't say goodbye to us. I found that very rude. I like to tip generously, but this is not an obligation. With such a bad experience and the already high price, you shouldn't react like that.

A very good (somewhat expensive) restaurant with lots of window seats and a correspondingly nice ambience. The food tastes great and the staff are friendly. Clear recommendation!

Price performance a little expensive, there were too few waiters and the place is just not optimal

We were just eating: 2 adults and 3 children. We ordered three children's menus as well as a rump steak and a flat steak. The flat steak was served to us as rump steak, which wasn't too bad. We ordered a Caesar salad as a side dish, but it was already spoiled. In addition, the flat steak was partially frozen inside, so we could only eat around it. The children's menu was supposed to include a gift or ice cream, but we didn't receive it. When we asked, we were told that there were no more gifts in stock. We wanted the accompanying ice cream to take away, but we were told that paper cups were no longer available. We would have expected at least some concession on price, but that didn't happen. Instead we paid the full price of €127.00. There wasn't even an apology. That was the last time we ate there.

One of the best in Frankfurt ...However . Always when I m visiting Frankfurt , I have to visit this steak house , including yesterday at 4 pm , when one of the waiters humiliated us in the front of all other restaurant customer, including loud shouting with F words for no reason. When we complained to the German manager , she said this is the available staff quality in the German labor industry . I feel sorry for Mardo company and also for Germany to have this non professional and uncivilized people .

Very good food and the worst services/treatment I ever had in my entire life, because of one of the waiter (with tatou in his right hand), he was soo rood and not professional at all , he shout on us loudly in front of all other customer (with F word), and when we complained to the manager, she said this is the available staff in the German the market??? The customer is definitely not king here. We had to wait 1 hour 30 minutes for our food and the waiter who served us was totally rude and anti-social. The waiters shout over the heads of the visitors and all seem very rude. It's understandable that the waitresses are perhaps a little stressed from time to time, but the fact that none of them ever say a nice word or smile was totally incomprehensible to us, especially when you consider that Given the high prices, the rest of the restaurant experience is truly material for any first-class horror film. The toilets were an absolute nightmare scenario… We will definitely never come there again and advise everyone else not to. I can't rationally explain why the restaurant still has so many stars on Google while there are significantly more negative reviews on other (more independent) sites...

Since childhood for me the place to go for a good steak! Steak? --> MAREDO!

Der Service ist sehr gut und erfahren. Merkten sofort, dass unsere Gruppe etwas lockerer drauf war und gestalteten auch dementsprechend den Service. Im Restaurant selbst wird nur die halbe Fläche genutzt, ein Teil den Restaurants steht leer und wird nicht großartig gepflegt. Leider führt der Weg zu den Toiletten durch diesen Bereich. Das Essen war "ok" . Wie man in einem Steakhaus auf die Idee kommt ein 350g ripeye Steak auf die Stärke eines schnitzels zu klopfen, bleibt allerdings ein Rätsel.

Phew difficult visit. Neo button apparently not possible. So paid normally and no discount possible. The meat in the burger was completely fried to death. Portion rather small. But the price is higher. I'd love to stop coming. Thanks!

Wir haben für 8 Personen reserviert, das Personal war kaum in der Lage den richtigen Tisch zu finden, obwohl das Lokal nur spärlich besetzt war. Die Getränke dauerten sehr lange, das Besteck wurde nach dem Essen gebracht und mit „einfach weitergeben“ vom Kellner an eine Person übergeben! Die Qualität der Speisen war gut.

Toller Service und Preis-Leistungsverhältnis gut. Ein Steak war etwas zu lang auf dem Grill aber insgesamt wirklich lecker. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder :-)

Das Personal war trotz spärlich besuchtem Lokal total überfordert. Besteck wurde erst auf Anfrage gebracht und dann mit „Einfach weitergeben“ ausgeteilt. Getränke gaben sehr lange gedauert. Ausrede des Kellners „bin heute nur eingesprungen und außerdem ist ja Sonntag!“ Die Qualität der Speisen war gut!

Today I had lunch at the steakhouse and I was impressed. The salad buffet was very good, offering a wide variety of fresh and tasty options. Both the salmon and the sirloin steak were excellent, perfectly cooked and flavorful. I highly recommend this place!

Worst Maredo branch I've ever been to. The food wasn't bad. The service, on the other hand, is underground. When asked if there was a sweet white wine on the menu, the waiter replied: I don't know much about wine. The staff seems hectic and overwhelmed. Also very long waiting times. Never here again!

Whether Hamburg Berlin Munich Düsseldorf I've been a satisfied customer at Maredo for years and I think I can judge it because I've been to almost every Maredo but I've never eaten as badly as today He was in a class🤔 well a rump steak medium well fries as a side dish the steak was an absolute disaster dry toe and simply not edible the garlic bread I had never been served like that before the first time and last time just yuck

Ordered 2 chili cheese burgers. Burger was ok for 15€. The rib fries were cold and tasted like they had been lying around for 30 minutes. Service wasn't all that great either

If you have a window seat you can have a nice view of the Hauptwache. Flank steak offer was OK. The price of the burger including pilsner couldn't be changed to Cola, even though it was ordered that way beforehand.

Maredo is quite a well-known steakhouse chain. However, when I arrived, I was struck by how it looked like a fast food joint. Wobbly dirty tables, shabby benches, sticky and greasy seasoning shakers on the tables that I was hesitant to even touch. I ordered a medium rare fillet. What they brought me was something I had never experienced before. When I cut into the steak, it was completely raw and cold inside - the fat in the meat was completely solid and white. Did they really throw a frozen piece of meat on the pan? So I called the waiter and told him that the steak needed to be defrosted to at least rare. He looked at it and shrugged, "Yeah, you're right, that's not medium rare." He took it away. Thirty minutes later (!!!), when the others had already finished their meals since they had made better choices, he brought back my steak. The same one. Even with the cut-off piece. The steak was completely cremated. As if, since frozen wasn't good enough for me, I got burnt one instead. I was extremely hungry and didn't want to argue because we all know what happens to the food of complaining guests... But it was inedible, some chewy piece got stuck in my throat, I ended up vomiting those 50 euros into the restaurant's toilet, and the next day I had severe stomach problems. We ordered mashed potatoes as a side dish, but i have no idea, what they brought - it smelled so terrible like a garlic, there goes no garlic in mashed potatoes, and it definetly didnt look like mashed potatoes. We didnt touch it. The waiter even didnt care, noone ask why we left it untouched. To top it off, we ordered two espressos. We waited 40 minutes for them and had to remind the waiter twice that we had ordered coffee. The waiter eventually brought a double shot as an apology.

We sat on a raised plateau in the square outside. Since there was a plateau that belonged to an on-site Starbucks that was slightly higher and could only be reached by crossing the lower level, there was a steady stream of people passing by. The food looked a bit sad on the plate as not much had been done to prepare it. The steak was ok, but no more, and the rest of the food was boring and without much taste. It was served by some young lads who were nice and polite, but apparently didn't have much experience.

Contrary to the great experience we had before, this time a big minus. Steak was so poor quality with too much tendon that none of them (three of us) could chew it. The taste and consistency was subpar for a 'Maredo' steak. this time outdoor - unfortunately there was also harassment from beggars and the like. Clientele. A pity. But we are 'served' first

This place is quite good, the food is well-cooked and the drinks ok. Have been there a couple of times, and every time was good. There is nothing really to complain about, other than the waiting time, but it usually depends on what time of the day you come.

Unfriendly employee!!! I wanted to use the toilet but didn't see the sign saying it was for guest use only. And no service was seen when we entered. Only when I opened the door to the toilet did an employee come and shave me in such a way that people would be ignorant. I told him that I didn't see anyone to ask and would like to pay for something. I then gave him 1 euro and said that we actually wanted to go out to eat, my husband was waiting outside for our daughter. But definitely not there. I have never experienced anything so unfriendly.

The Maredo from before is barely recognizable. Now very expensive, but the quality is miles away from steakhouses in the same price range - the Buffalo Steakhouse in particular is way (!) better. Service disinterested, sometimes stroppy. Not bad in taste, but absolutely nothing special either. Average at best. Even ketchup is charged extra (for a steak costing over €40). Offers like before (steak and salad) are no longer available. This was our last visit. I can only advise against it and would really recommend the Buffalo Steakhouse, Vai Vai or Buena Vista (in that order).

After we waited 40 minutes for our food and saw 3 tables who came after us, food was served, we asked to check for our order. Waiter told us it’s normal we need to wait longer than the others ( no further reason to explain why our food has been delayed). Another longer waiting time, we had to asked again because we were ready hungry. So children went different directions for information. The attitude of waiter was unpleasant and told us it’s not reasonable what children did, to ask two people for our food. It’s unbelievable experience I was blamed by waiter, especially restaurant was quiet and I had to wait food for nearly an hour. Steaks were good ( side salad was mixed old leaves). We will not return to this restaurant anymore.

Had a steak, which was OK, but nothing more. However, the staff was super nice and very attentive.

We had the offer rump steak 250gr with fries and dip for 25€. Steak was a small point over medium rare. But otherwise everything is good. Service friendly.

Ordered a medium steak which ended up being rare and nearly uncuttable, the fries were too hard, they brought ketchup instead of sour cream, ordered 2 glasses of wine but they brought a bottle instead which ended up being 100€ just for the bottle.

I had the lunch menu and salad buffet. This place has steak. The side dishes weren't very tasty. I probably won't visit again. . . However, all the staff were friendly.

The food was ok. The steak was not cooked correctly for me or my companion. Otherwise the steak was good. What was much worse, however, were the two male waitresses. One of them was too careful to show my companion something on the map that she couldn't find right away. The other person simply ignores you and is very arrogant. I have no idea why he keeps his job there. Conclusion: Nice atmosphere, food OK. and today's male waitresses are simply underground.

Salad buffet €9.90, each additional salad costs €4.50. Neither the menu nor the service pointed this out before placing the order. You would be much better off with 2 side dishes for €9.40. When you ask about the menu, which isn't on the menu, you get insulted: "It's a buffet, not all you can eat." Never again.

Service, rude, not good service

A great visit to Maredo yesterday afternoon! I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff and the excellent service. The quality of the food was excellent and the atmosphere was very pleasant. It's nice to see how the Maredo has developed so positively in recent years. Highly Recommended!

After many years I was back in the Maredo. The food was great, the service was perfect, but the humor could be worked on. There is a little robot that brings the dishes into the kitchen.

We drove to Frankfurt from Marburg. This is the McDonald's of steak houses, a chain with low quality with expensive prices. Very disappointing that if you want quality and service, it is not here. It was understaffed and under trained. My wife ordered the 180-gram steak and side salad with apple schorle. The apple schorle didn't have any seltzer in it and weren't cold. So a Coca-Cola was ordered on its place, and it came with a dried out lemon in the glass. Steak came medium rare, with blood running out. Took steak back and returned with a hot plate as if it were put in the microwave. It was still blood runny. Had to show the waiter what a medium steak is supposed to look like from Google images. Finally, they returned with a medium steak but thinner and tougher. I ordered the BBQ brisket. The brisket came and was covered with BBQ sauce. The brisket color was totally off and was in strands like roast beef. The BBQ should be on the side but this was to cover the low quality brisket. 2 large beers and soda the bill was 66 euros. Update- someone within this business complained to Google about my post. This business has done this to others. as with the post, there's a receipt. The next only step they have is the notorious German court. Even in Germany, you are supposed to be able to post the truth with evidence. Sad, instead of saying they'll do better, they resort to this. 😆

Really slow service, we try nearly all of kind of meats with our group. We only like ribs, other than the ribs not good both qualitywise and pricing. We did not go there next time

Hello, my friends and I were in this restaurant on March 22nd, 24, unfortunately we were extremely disappointed. It started with a waiter having to clean our table, but when we were shown to our seat there was still lettuce stuck to two of four knives. Then it continued that we had no forks and there were no ice cubes in our drinks, when our food came we were very pleased at first but then came the surprise that it was served in a meal, our fillet was completely solid and COLD! We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Best regards

The worst Maredo I have ever visited. Unfriendly waiter, long waiting times, the steak arrived lukewarm and almost cooked through (ordered medium). Complaints are laughed away and the customer is ironically insulted. It's a shame, people are actually used to something different from Maredo.

Sheer fraud. Pay extra for everything. Misleading pricing on everything. Steer clear of this unless you love the feeling of being cheated.

Danger! If you order the salad buffet with a steak for €10, you can only help yourself to the salad bar once; a second time costs €3 more. It's outrageous to charge €10 for a plate of salad. Because for €9.40 you get 2 side dishes of your choice. In itself it wasn't that bad, but when the waiter was asked about it, he reacted very rudely and was absolutely not in a good mood. In my opinion this is not a service! Definitely no more visits!

I wanted to surprise my husband with dinner there for his anniversary because he liked the MAREDO in Berlin. However, our evening was really ruined by rude, rude and even insulting staff. Since a visit to a restaurant depends entirely on the service, it was the last MAREDO visit for us and we advise everyone not to go there. The food was also less than average. A pity.

Local health authority on the second floor of a building in the center with a view of one of the city squares. Good alternative in the center if you are looking for meat options other than the usual shank and cutlet with refined cuts. The place and the tables do not seem particularly modern but the staff is very kind and helpful. Perhaps too large to be able to take care of the menus in the best possible way but still pleasant and a strategic stop.
