Very good food. The interior design is exceptionally good and perfectly matches the theme of the restaurant. I can highly recommend it to everyone.

Fantastic food with lots of vegan and vegetarian options. Everything was very fresh and beautifully prepared.

Insanely good food. Soooo delicious, both the chicken and the tofu version. Not the typical Asian food that is offered everywhere else. If you want that, you have to go somewhere else. For authentic cuisine, you've come to the right place. Even my teenage daughter really enjoyed it. Only the ambience is not worth the 5 stars.

Price performance is right. Very authentic and delicious. Toilets are in the basement and are not suitable for people with disabilities.

Nice place to try in Freiburg. The food was really good and I would go to try another option in the future. The service that was a bit late but apart of this everything was nice. The quantity surprised me in a very positive way. If you like more spicy go and check :)

A really great Vietnamese restaurant in the heart of Freiburg, which is ideal for fortifying yourself while strolling through the city. I had a Pho Ga that couldn't have been better. Upon request/request, we received another portion of fresh herbs. Class! So delicious. Friendliness and service were also top. See you soon, is all I say.

This is a restaurant I would definitely not recommend. I rarely write reviews like this, but I feel compelled to warn others. 1. Food: Everything was unbearably salty. The rice was so dry that I had to ask for a new portion, but they brought the same dry, cold rice again. The Pad Thai was so salty that it was obvious no care went into its preparation. It felt like the dishes weren't freshly prepared, just reheated. 2. Service: The waitress who served us seemed like she didn't want to work at all and spoke to us in a rude, condescending tone. When we complained about the dry rice, their reaction was dismissive, as if we were the problem. I would rather starve than return to this restaurant.

"True" Vietnamese but basic atmosphere!

Good location. Food greasy but very tasty. I had the red curry with tofu - vegan. Bouncer from the shot bar vs. gave some weird aggro vibe.

If you are looking for authentic Vietnamese cuisine in Freiburg, you will find it here. Very tasty food, especially the Pho is extremely good and definitely reminds me of my trip to Vietnam. The summer rolls are also very tasty 😋... and the rest of the menu too 😀 Another highlight are the homemade drinks, they are ingenious creations that taste fantastic. The service is also super friendly and very accommodating. All around a great, very friendly shop! Always happy 😀

The foood was really good. The only wish is for less sauce on the crispy duck coz it was too much and the duck was losing the crispy because of the sauce. We were very happy with everything else. I loved my fried spring roll noodle salad. The alcohol free juices were so yummy! A bit on the pricier side. But we always love eating Vietnamese when we are in Germany.

Not recommended for vegans. Poor vegan selection, I wasn't given good advice about which dishes were vegan and no effort was made to accommodate me. Even the coconut curry is specially prepared with milk. The summer rolls at the end were delicious but I would have preferred something from the lunch menu or a main course. The service was unfriendly and unsatisfactory.

The taste of the food was still ok, but there was very little rice and the vegetable side dish was actually a disgrace. The price wasn't appropriate for that.

If you like Vietnamese food, this is the place for you. Our Phở bò wasn't seasoned quite authentically, but there were plenty of Asian spices and soy sauces on the table for you to season yourself. We thought it was great that homemade Vietnamese drinks were also offered.

Food was fresh, very tasty and served quickly. The red curry and fried rice are particularly recommended.

Actually I have tried this restaurant last year, but I have tried more Vietnamese or Thai restaurants in Freiburg until now, and I felt a huge difference in taste and dishes when I came here for the second time. The pho is pre-made soup, not homemade and it tastes bad. The beef is very small and hard, and the vegetarian dishes are not fresh. Two people ordered two dishes and two glasses of water for a total of 40 euros. I believe that other Thai restaurants can have better prices and enjoy more delicious food.

We are totally thrilled. The food was excellent, the service was quick and friendly. The pho noodle soup is a must-try!

We have tried eating here for lunch and dinner. Just same experience. Standard food for Vietnamese cuisine..service was good. I find noodles dishes too oily with too much soya sauce. Curry dishes are better

The food was very very good! We had starter & main course. Overall it was very flavorful and really tasty. Absolute recommendation! The ambience is also great and cozy. Clean toilets & authentic decoration. The only drawback: the stacked beer crates at the bar, which somewhat spoiled the beautiful visual impression. But you can overlook it when it comes to eating :)

Mai’s was a great new discovery yesterday! The service staff were very nice and attentive. The food and the fresh mint tea were beautifully presented and really delicious and you felt like you were in a beautiful Vietnamese street food restaurant. I chose Vietnamese homemade spring rolls and curry with chicken teriyaki. The vegetables were still nice and crunchy and the chicken was tender. There are also varied vegetarian dishes. I'll try these at the next opportunity. I will definitely come back soon. Thank you

We've been there several times. The service is very friendly, the prices are very good and are really reasonable. Delicious food that we didn't have to wait very long for. Unfortunately, I don't find the new chairs, or rather stools, very comfortable, but since we don't want to spend the evening here, but rather take a short break between the shopping stations, it's not a problem. The short walk here from the pedestrian zone is definitely worth it.

Super delicious food, extremely good service and a pleasant atmosphere. Recommended place for anyone looking for a delicious place in the beautiful city center. Plus, it's suitable for everyone: from small children to the elderly.

Unfortunately for me, the meat in all of my dishes was not fresh and felt like it had been standing for a long time. Service but very good.

Oh the food is lovely and tasty and no comparison to any restaurants I have been through. I had the udon soup bowl with chicken and shrimp with veggies and rice .. I am going back again 100% I hope all the other options won't be disappointing too..

Food is good, but the one young Vietnamese woman has no idea about service and customer loyalty, we had to experience it three times in a row and had to leave again, the first time we came 10 minutes before the regular break and were sent away straight away "we're taking a break now and close", the second time we came 20 minutes before the regular closing time again the same stupid chatter, today on 11/27/23 we came after the break, she opened the door at 4:29 p.m., we waited until 4:37 p.m. when the light was on we wanted to come in , statement "People aren't back from their break yet, please leave again", then I saw red and said now we won't come back, never again, deal with customers like that who leave money, ask the lady in a friendly manner and hand over a card and drinks offer, this lady doesn't know anything like that, for this reason I will never visit this establishment again and report it to DEHOGA, I and my friends can do without such bad treatment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!

Der frische Minzetee war absolut frisch, minzig, natürlich und geschmacksintensiv... Reis und vegane Kokos Mango Soße war rund, mild, würzig, das Gemüse war mir persönlich zu knackig und der Tofu zu weich und leicht labberig... nettes, zurückhaltendes Personal...

Excelente comida, atención nada buena...me trajo el mate primero antes los platos de fondo..luego me trajo la sopa y no mi segundo.plato ya después de 20 minutos porque le reclame y claro nunca tome el te lo devolví. La comida Excelente 👌 😋

Gutes Essen zu angemessenen Preisen. Essen wird sehr schön serviert und auch die Getränke erscheinen hausgemacht. Ein etwas gehobeneres vietnamesisches Restaurant mit tollem Ambiente, da es in einer Essensstraße lokalisiert ist.

Während unseres Freiburgbesuchs waren wir in diesem kleinen Restaurant in der Fußgängerzone zum Mittagessen. Es gibt eine große Auswahl an unterschiedlichen Gerichten sowie Getränken. Wir essen gerne und oft asiatisch. Uns hat es gut geschmeckt. Der Service war freundlich und schnell. Gerne wieder.

If you have never been to Vietnam or never had bun cha, you might be happy with it. I was in Vietnam last year, had bun cha almost every day so I was disappointed. They could have done many things to make the dish alive, for instance grill the meat directly on the fire, use some herbes.. etc. The dish that I had was too modified , it is almost having a identity crisis. If Vietnamese ate this dish, they would insist to change the name of the dish, as it is not bun cha. I miss vietnam so I came here but I did not get Vietnamese food. Actually I can make it even better at home. One of the girls is very unfriendly.

Super leckeres authentisches essen. Die Frühlingsrollen und die hausgemachten Eistee's kann ich besonders empfehlen. Desweiteren war der Service sehr zuvorkommend, das essen wurde schnell und heiß serviert. Waren definitiv nicht das letzte Mal dort essen.

Einfach klasse. Zweimal war ich bereits hier und zweimal war ich absolut überzeugt. Das Essen ist wirklich spitze und die Mitarbeiter sind extrem freundlich! Das Ambiente ist jenach Wochentag und Uhrzeit unterschiedlich (aufgrund der Personen die draußen unterwegs sind), war aber immer nett. Das Restaurant ist eher klein und simpel gehalten, mehr muss aber auch nicht sein. Wenn ich in der Stadt bin wird MAI's immer einer meiner favoriten sein um gut vietnamesisch essen zu gehen.
