Maindiner in Frankfurt am Main

Six of us, including our dog, went to MainDainer and were absolutely thrilled! The food was excellent, fresh, and tasted top-notch. We were particularly impressed by the service: Both the gentleman and the lady were exceptionally polite, attentive, and yet pleasantly unobtrusive – exactly what perfect service should be, but which is rare these days. Even our dog received a culinary treat, which we were truly pleased about. A thoroughly successful evening. We'll definitely be back!

I've been there a few times. The servers are friendly, the steak and vegetables were delicious, and the prices are reasonable. Overall, satisfactory.

Actually a nice place, but very small and cramped. The main criticism, however, concerns the food: We ordered three small steaks with various sauces and sweet potato fries. After a long wait, the steaks were served cold and barely edible, while the sweet potato fries were completely burnt – with a correspondingly unpleasant aftertaste. When we politely asked the wait staff about this, the only response we received was a succinct "that's how it should be" – no apology, no attempt at a solution, no professional handling of criticism. For us, it's clear: the price-performance ratio here is completely out of proportion. It's a shame considering the potential of the place – but after this experience, we definitely wouldn't recommend the main diner.

We were there for our anniversary.🥳 Friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Everything was perfect, and we were very happy with everything. For starters, we ordered an appetizer plate for two. The triple tartare was particularly delicious and a huge portion for us. We regretted it a bit, as we were already full. But the steak was also perfect and so delicious. Be sure to order the truffle purée as a side dish. So delicious!😋 (Sorry, I'm not a good photographer🙈) This restaurant is worth a return visit, and the Google reviews give it almost 5 stars!🤩 It's a shame we couldn't try the Kaiserschmarrn for dessert, as we were full.😇 Reservations required.

Best kebab I tasted in Frankfurt, we really enjoyed it.

I visited this resturant when i was travling through Frankfurt. The resturant has good service and everyone was really nice. The inside dining room is somewhat small and cramped but the outside "tent" was somewhat better. Their outside patio furniture was very rickety and a bit uncomfortable. Our party were first served with a cup of vegetable soup. It tasted very good, but maybe a bit to spicy. Next we ordered a small salad as a starter which was decent. It was somewhat generic but tasted good. Otherwise not too memorable. As our main course we ordered the argentinian triology and fried potatoes. Everything was cooked well and looked delicious but it had a significant problem. There were no seasoning or spices on the food at all. The main course and potatoes thus tasted extremely bland and boring. The 3 different sauces accompanying the meal tasted almost exactly the same, even though they we're supposed to be very different from eachother. I had high hopes for the resturants due to the other positive reviews i had read. I was however very disappointed by my visit and will not return.

"Hearty, elegant – and the best Kaiserschmarrn in Frankfurt!" From the chef's welcome – fresh bread with wonderfully creamy pumpkin soup – to dessert, every course was a hit. This was followed by tender beef carpaccio, a perfectly cooked steak, creamy truffle purée, and, to finish, a dreamy Kaiserschmarrn. The restaurant is elegant and stylish, yet warmly and attentively run. A particularly nice touch: When the owner heard I was from Austria, he spontaneously brought me vanilla ice cream with pumpkin seed oil – a Styrian specialty that isn't even on the menu. Such a personal gesture is unforgettable. An evening full of flavor and warmth – highly recommended!

We had dinner at the Maindiner on Saturday, July 26, 2025. The ambiance was fantastic and the food absolutely fantastic. The beef fillet with a Parmesan crust and truffle was a dream come true, as were the sweet potato fries on the side. The dessert platter for two was absolutely sufficient for the four of us. We highly recommend Lugano as a wine accompaniment. The service was very courteous and prompt. We'll definitely be back!

What an experience! I was completely impressed by the main dinner. The service was not only professional, but also warm and attentive – you immediately feel like you're in good hands. The rib-eye steak was simply sensational! Grilled to perfection, beautifully marbled, tender, and full of flavor – exactly what you imagine a perfect steak to be. Every bite was a delight! The side dishes were also creative, fresh, and perfectly matched. The stylish ambiance with its attention to detail rounded off the evening perfectly – modern, cozy, and yet relaxed. For me, it's a definite recommendation for anyone looking for good food, excellent service, and a truly gourmet experience. I'm already looking forward to the next time!

Geiles Ding, vor allem Kaiserschmarrn! Alles top, hatten 3 verschiedene Stück Fleisch und verschiedene Beilagen. Ceasar Salat auch zu empfehlen.

Excellent service, not a large environment but with outdoor space

Let's start with the positive. The meat was really delicious. The side dishes were okay, although I think the creamed spinach was definitely store-bought. The sour Aperol was absolutely terrible. The location isn't that great either. The service was quite friendly, though. I wouldn't recommend the place.

Everything seemed to be starting off well in this quiet and well-decorated restaurant. However, when the drinks arrived, I had to ask for a replacement for my companion's still Coca-Cola. It was replaced immediately! With another one that was just as still... Then, when it came to the main course, no problem. Everything was very good and well served. Note the rather generous portion of fries, but considering the prices, it makes up for it. Finally, for dessert, I ordered an Austrian pancake, which never arrived... because apparently the waitress hadn't understood my order. She had agreed when I told her it was to be shared. In short, not a bad experience, but I wouldn't go back, which is a shame because the food has potential.

Located in Sachsenhausen am Berg. A parking garage is 300 meters away. A classic steakhouse with indoor and outdoor seating. The steak was cooked to perfection, medium rare and still hot, full of flavor and tender. Overall, there's a bit too little space per table, but it's adequate. The food is excellent, and the atmosphere is okay.

We visited this beautiful little shop for our anniversary – and it was simply perfect! We received a very warm welcome upon arrival. The service was consistently friendly, attentive, and courteous. What was particularly nice was that they even lovingly decorated it for our anniversary – a truly lovely gesture! To start, we chose an Aperol Sour as an aperitif – absolutely delicious! Then we had a special treat from the kitchen: a wonderfully spiced carrot soup, which really surprised us. For our main courses, we had a Nebraska rib-eye and a strip loin in a herb crust – both cooked to perfection and delicious. The sweet potato fries were beautifully crispy, just as they should be, and the vegetables were also delicious. To finish, we had a refreshing sorbet – perfect as a light dessert. And to top it all off, a glass of limoncello on the house – very thoughtful! Overall, it was a wonderful evening with excellent food and warm service. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this shop!

Enjoyed marvellous family dinner

I celebrated my birthday there and I was very pleasantly surprised by both the food and the service! They decorated the table especially for my birthday and at the end, they treated us to a large plate of dessert! The food was excellent, and the prices reflected the quality and the atmosphere.

A decent place for German food and drinks. The staff, despite having difficulties communicating in English, were still very helpful and attentive, and they even served us with complementary bread and broth.

Es war mein erstes Mal hier, da ich auf der Suche nach einem Restaurant bin, das ich gut mit Geschäftskunden aufsuchen kann und die Wahl wird sicherlich auf das Maindiner fallen! Ich hatte das US carpaccio und Royal Filet. Es war wirklich vom ersten bis zum letzten Bissen unfassbar gut! Also ob alleine, mit Freunden oder für Business, ich kann’s definitiv weiter empfehlen!

I was truly impressed with the main course. The Argentinian tenderloin steak is simply fantastic – I haven't had anything as good as this in Germany yet. The side dishes are delicious, and the Malbec pairs perfectly with it. The service is friendly, uncomplicated, and offers good recommendations. Seating is really comfortable both inside and outside. If you're looking for a true steak experience, this is the place to be. Highly recommended! PS: The dessert is also amazing, especially the Kaiserschmarrn.

Great fries. Delicious, fresh, and fast, everything you could want!

The menu is impressive in its variety of dishes, especially the steaks. I ordered the filet mignon with truffle mashed potatoes, and it was simply delicious - the meat melted in the mouth, and the mashed potatoes had a rich truffle aroma. My companion chose the Argentine ribeye, which was perfectly fried and served with a flavorful sauce. We were especially pleased with the attention to detail: before the main courses, we were served complimentary soup and fresh bread, which was a pleasant surprise. For dessert, we chose the Kaiserschmarrn with vanilla ice cream, which was the perfect end to the dinner.

The main course: a buttery tender beef fillet on truffle pasta – cooked to perfection, aromatic, and beautifully presented. The dessert, a lava cake with a liquid center, was the crowning glory. Service: The waitresses were professional, well-trained, and able to confidently answer any questions about the menu. Empty glasses were noticed without having to be asked, and special requests were also fulfilled with a smile. Value for money: Not cheap – but absolutely reasonable for what you get. We booked at 8.30pm with their confirmation by email, we arrived at 8.20pm and were told repeatedly that it would be ready in 10 minutes. At 9.20pm we left as no table was about to be vacated. It should be appreciated that they offered us an aperitif (a beer each and a vegetable soup). We won't be returning.

5 stars! – An all-round successful evening! On the occasion of our junior's birthday, we visited the MAINDINER Steakhouse in Frankfurt - and were thrilled! The steak was perfectly grilled, wonderfully tender and a taste highlight. The salmon, the chicken fillet and all the side dishes were also excellent! The service was attentive and professional – we immediately felt welcome. Particularly nice: a lovingly designed birthday surprise and a delicious appetizer surprise from the house. Many thanks to the entire team – we’ll be back!

For the first time in the Maindiner and definitely not the last time. Main course and dessert absolutely great. The only thing that had to be complained about was that we ordered medium rare, which came out of the kitchen completely raw and we then complained about that. The waitress told us that medium rare was how it was done in this restaurant. Sorry, but this is the same for every chef worldwide. No matter, the chef put it on the grill again and it was great.

A place of 10. I wrote a comment on the reservation saying that it was our anniversary and they decorated the table a little so that it was not too flashy but felt special. The waiters are incredibly friendly, you can tell they enjoy what they do. We ordered two large assorted dishes and everything they brought was very delicious. I will return for sure!!!

Walked in on a Sunday with no reservation. No problem the folks were so kind. We enjoyed the old time photos. And our steaks and wine were outstanding. Their take on escargot was different, but really really delicious. We will be back

We went to celebrate my husband's birthday and I had shared this with the restaurant during my reservation. On service, I must say everyone was very nice from the moment we walked in - we were made comfortable and were with our drinks very fast. The service team checked on us throughout as well! Now food, I should save the best for last but in case you only read the first words. please d yourself the pleasure of ordering the sweet potato fries - it is hands down the best I've ever had. Crispy, crunchy with almost a nice chew on the outside with a soft, gooey and soft center. On other items we ordered the starter platter for 1 (our waitress advised it would be too much food if we ordered the platter doe 2) and really enjoyed the tartars (beef, salmon and tuna) , for mains my husband ordered the rib eye black (?) It had a nice herb crust, and I ordered the prawns. My husband said his steak was very nicely cooked and I loved that flavour of the sauce on the prawn dish. Now to be honest, when the kind waitress had brought us bread with the soup I ordered Truffle butter thinking to have it with the bread, but she brought out a Truffle pasta 😆 we didn't want to make a thing of it and were happy to give it a try - flavourful, al dente with a nice side of vegetables! Last but not least they kindly surprised my husband with a dessert for celebrating his birthday and even sang! Thanks for the wonderful evening 😊

Amazing visit to a restaurant ! Kind recommendation place to visit in Frankfurt, The food is classic in terms of steak house , amazing options for meat and fish, was way above expectations . Deserts are really nice as well and big choice of vines and different drinks. Really nice atmosphere and amazing stuff . The restaurant was full , so ideally to make a reservation beforehand. A traditional German restaurant, we arrived as a group of 9 on a Thursday evening and the place was packed, which gave a great ambience. I would suggest booking a table, it didn't look like there was much space for walk in customer. Firstly the menu is extensively meat and traditional dishes you would expect to find. But I have to say, the vegan menu was excellent. As a vegetarian I often find it hard to get good / trust meals when I'm travelling but the vegan steak was absolutely incredible. It was so good I had to ask one of the service staff to check they hadn't messed my order up. (Though they were shocked to serve a vegan) Extensive wine and beer list was brilliant. You must also try the apple wine. Loads of flavours and a nice pallet cleanser after a heavy meal. I will certainly be coming back on my next trip to Frankfurt.

We booked a table 3 days ago for Saturday night for 6 persons . I have invited my important clients from abroad during Ambiente. We checked before arriving that all was OK about 6 pm .The lady over the phone told me that the restaurant will be busy but my réservation is confirmed.When we arrived, one lady from restaurant stopped us on the Terrasse prior to getting inside and started to explain a problem with the electricity and the kitchen does not work .....We saw people in restaurant eating , and it did not look like she explained....Very bad excuse and certainly a big lie from her,We suppose that they have accepted too many clients and did not manage well their bookings...Thus , I do not recommend to book this restaurant unless, you have a chance of being trapped as we have been...

The food was really good. Whether it was the starter, the main course or the dessert, it was really good. The service was top. Every time you just looked, the girls were there. We just didn't like the atmosphere. We sat outside in the tent and the volume was really immense. Unfortunately, this isn't the right place to spend a cozy evening because it's too small. Still a pleasant evening.

Food ok, service nice and accommodating, atmosphere bad. It was way too loud, you couldn't understand your own words. The tables are very small and the seating is much too tight. In the women's toilet there were full toilet paper rolls on the floor and the toilets were also very narrow, so you had to squeeze past each other. Unfortunately not suitable for a quiet dinner for two.

Yesterday 5, today 1. I reserve this morning and they confirm reservation at 21h. When I got there, they told me that they had tried to call me that they didn't have a place after all.

To be fair, I can't say anything about the food or about the restaurant itself, as we unfortunately didn't manage to get a seat despite having a reservation We had a reservation for Friday evening. The restaurant was completely overcrowded and they had tried to somehow accommodate guests who didn't have a reservation but had been waiting for a long time. I had tried several times to point out one of the conditions that we had a reservation, but they were obviously very stressed and ignored us at first. After about 10 minutes I was finally able to explain to a waitress that we actually had a reservation, whereupon she disappeared. In between, I was hit with another condition as to why we would be standing around here. After about 10-15 minutes she came back and tried to find a temporary solution until we could get a place in another 20 minutes. Bottom line, my recommendation would be not to go there at crowded times such as Friday evenings. It was extremely tight, stressful and apparently a bit overbooked, which is why you don't necessarily get your reserved spot. Personally, I find something like that extremely annoying when you actually want to spend a nice evening with friends.

Fantastic food and service cannot be praised highly enough. Steaks perfectly on point. Great wine list. Nice selection of starters. Flexible kitchen that makes special requests possible without hesitation. Wide range of gins. And to round it off, probably the best Kaiserschmarrn I've had so far. Absolutely recommended!

In unseren Augen ist das Maindiner das beste Steak-Restaurant. Wir gehen sehr oft essen und probieren immer wieder mal etwas Neues aus. Aber bisher war kein anderes Steakhouse ansatzweise so gut wie dieses. Es fängt schon bei der Gastfreundlichkeit an, geht weiter mit der mega Qualität des Fleisches und der perfekten Garstufe und der erstklassige Service rundet dies ab. Selbst bei Sonderwünschen, wird der Gast mit einer Selbstverständlichkeit zufriedengestellt. Schön zu sehen, dass es noch so gute Restaurants gibt, die ihr Handwerk verstehen. Vielen Dank!

Our absolute favorite restaurant! We were there last night and were once again totally thrilled. The food and service are absolutely outstanding. The great ambience completes the whole thing. We had the Nebraska Filet Mignon (buttery tender) and the Black Angus Strip Loin (flavor explosion). Many thanks to the entire team for a really nice evening, we'll be back!

We celebrated a birthday, 6 people, ordered steak with truffle and rib-eye steak. All dishes were very tasty and prepared with taste. The service is very polite and recommends dishes. The atmosphere is very pleasant, you feel comfortable among the beautiful photos of Hollywood stars. We'd love to come back here. I have a surprise for the birthday child.
