The Maharaja Place has been one of our favorite restaurants in Nuremberg for 15 years now. Whenever we pass by here, we can't avoid stopping here and eating the delicious food. The price/performance level is great, the food is super tasty. As always, we'll be back 👍

Update July 2024 The lunch menu now costs €11.50. Otherwise not much has changed. It still tastes very good. At the moment I can only say something about the lunch buffet. I wasn't there in the evening yet. The lunch menu is really above average. The typical Indian classics are offered. From mild to spicy. If you want it spicier, you can add more seasoning. I've been there several times for lunch and tried everything. Every dish tastes really good. Each guest also gets fresh naan bread. The buffet is always kept fresh. However, it may be that one or the other runs out at 2 p.m. and is no longer refilled. But then, if requested, a portion of what was missing was prepared separately. Class service. For €7.50 you can't eat better. Top!

I ordered food through online delivery app. The delivery was quick but the food was not all good. The food doesn't taste like Indian food at all and lacks flavors. The chicken was undercooked and bland. Not recommended.

A terrible experience: I had called the restaurant before ordering to make sure my chicken curry wasn't spicy and had ordered for pickup. When I picked it up everything was fine. The next day the manager called me rudely and claimed that I had ordered twice - once by phone and two minutes later again with Wolt - . That didn't make any sense - It is clear that this is a misunderstanding on their part. He had been extremely rude and made the argument worse instead of apologizing. The food was okay, but the service gets 0 stars.

I have eaten at many Indian restaurants, but Maharaja Palace is the only one that has delivered excellent, consistent quality for years. Definitely worth every visit!

I was very disappointed when I ordered from Maharaja Palace - the naan bread was rubbery and the butter chicken only tasted like tomatoes.

We've been here off and on over the years and it's always been good. But when we were there today and had naan, butter chicken, lamb biryani, a lassi and a marinated cheese as a starter, I have to say TOP. We eat Indian food often and a lot but Maharaja is now our number 1. Good food has become even better for us here. Thanks for that.

I only tasted Butter Chicken - I liked it, but it is a spicy dish, the level of perception of spiciness is an individual thing. The portion is very large. I ordered another salad, but the waiter forgot about this order, and when I saw a portion of chicken + a lot of rice, I decided not to remind, because 2 dishes for one person is too much. Prices are moderate.

I've eaten there again for probably 15 years. It was - just like back then - very, very tasty! This time it won't be that long until we eat here next time!

Dear Maharaja team, thank you very much for the great food and the quick delivery (approx. 30 minutes). Absolutely recommended, I order from you more often, consistent quality, not everyone can do that either.

We had to wait quite a long time (about an hour) for our food even though it wasn't particularly busy. Food was OK, but nothing spectacular. But the Mango Lassi is recommended. Service is pretty inattentive, rarely if ever stopping by.

Well I have to say it's pretty impressive that you can make a reservation there and then when you get there they tell you that the reservation doesn't exist. I don't know how this can happen logistically. Ok, we still got a table but then had to wait almost an hour for our food. The staff did not ask us about any concerns we may have. You have to say the food wasn't bad, but it wasn't really spectacular either. Overall, I'm disappointed and the only tip I can give is that the restaurant needs to adapt better

I like to order there 2-3 times a week, always very quickly and always delicious. Never disappointed. Keep it up :)

We are a little divided on this. I had the chicken mango curry and a mango lasso which were both great, my friend had a tandori mix where unfortunately some pieces were tough or gristly. We also ordered a butter naan as a starter. I know starters so you get them BEFORE the main course. The menu said that you get naan and basmati rice with the tandori and curry. We also got this with the main courses When we asked about the bill because the butter naan was listed as an extra 3.50, we were told rather rudely that we got it with our meal. We didn't feel like discussing things, but we didn't give a tip either. We probably wouldn't come back

The Indian I trust, I order here monthly. I can particularly recommend the Karahi dishes and the Lassi Mango. The two Lieferando awards for the best delivery service in Nuremberg in recent years are absolutely justified, always high quality and consistently good delivery times.

I had ordered online - it was delivered on time - roti we’re burnt 🥵 which was disappointing and not eatable. - the rice was undercooked and curry wasn’t worth the price .

Despite delivery across half the city, we stayed under the specified hour and delivered an excellent lamb curry, baked cauliflower and fruit salad, a very tasty overall package, many thanks to this kitchen team, keep it up.

The food was fine. The best dish we ordered was baingan bharta. Bhindi was also fine but the chana masala I don't recommend. Chana masala was a bit bland. Also, the waiter who served us couldn't speak English 😵‍💫 I wonder how they handle only English speaking customers. Not really recommended but for cheap food and fine service, you can go.

Leckeres Essen, netter Service und ein gutes Preis Leistungsverhältnis. Große Auswahl an vegetarischen Gerichten. Auch beim Mittagsbuffet gibt es einen getrennten Bereich für vegetarische Gerichte. Es war zwar nicht immer alles gefüllt, wurde aber dann aber zügig nachgeholt. Besser so, als Lebensmittel zu verschwenden.

Malgré une arrivée tardive, nous avons été bien accueilli. Le service est à votre écoute et est au petit soins pour vous sans être pesant. Après avoir passé la commande grâce à une carte à l'offre très variées, vous pourrez commencer votre voyage culinaire, les plats sont délicieux, généreux et plein de saveurs.....et tout cela pour un très bon rapport qualité-prix. Lors de mon prochain séjour à Nuremberg, une visite dans ce temple des saveurs s'imposera d'elle même.

The mango lassi and chai was really good, we had butter naan, chilli naan and keema naan(take out). It tasted good, but probably dine-in will elevate it. The owner was Kind and the whole atmosphere was inviting.

Leider kann ich zum Essen und Service im Maharaja Palace nichts sagen: ganz einfach weil wir nicht hineindurften... Als ich dort anrief und zum Glück noch einmal nachfragte, ob wir mit unserem kleinen Hund kommen dürften, wurde mir gesagt, das sei "verboten". Da etwas so Selbstverständliches wie ein Restaurantbesuch mit vierbeinigem Familienmitglied dort nicht zugelassen ist (warum eigentlich?), kann ich leider zunächst keine bessere Note geben. Sollte das Restaurant seine Politik ändern und tierfreundlich werden, werde ich ihm gerne noch eine Chance geben.

Also das Essen war wirklich wirklich lecker ohne Frage. Die Auswahl war auch ausreichend genug, egal ob vegetarisch oder nicht. Der Service war auch wirklich nett und hat einen auch gerne bedient. Zum Ambiente muss ich sagen, die Sitznischen waren auch sehr gemütlich und die Gemälde haben eine schöne kulturelle Atmosphäre geschaffen. War mit meiner Freundin zum “All you can eat - Buffet” da und würde es auch gerne nochmal tun. Überzeugt euch selbst.

Der Koch ist verliebt :-) Selbst für mich als salzliebenden Menschen war das Essen doch recht salzlastig. Das galt auch für die anderen bestellten Gerichte und haben meine Freunde unaufgefordert so gesagt. Das ist recht schade, weil ich glaube, dass damit eine große Geschmacksvielfalt übertüncht wird. Ansonsten: Die Portionsgröße sind üppig. Das zusätzlich bestellte Naan war ebenfalls ausreichend und sehr lecker, das Fleisch war gut zubereitet. Vielleicht war der Tag, an dem wir dort gegessen haben, ein salziger Ausreißer. Bei der Vielfalt an anderen guten indischen Restaurants, werden wir das aber vermutlich keiner Übrprüfung unterziehen.

Sehr leckeres Essen zu fairen Preisen. Sehr freundliche Bedienung, komme gerne wieder. Tandori kann ich sehr empfehlen, das Hühnchen kommt dampfenden und mit einer sehr leckeren Soße dazu.

Kenne dieses Lokal lediglich über Lieferando und muss sagen, Absolut verdiente 5 Sterne. Preis Leistung Stimmt einfach und der Kundenservice ist prima. Wenn mal etwas nicht passt, kontaktieren Sie dich um eine Lösung zu finden und sind stets bemüht und freundlich. Bestelle dort auch regelmäßig. Kann nach über 10 Bestellungen in den letzten zwei Monaten nur sagen, probiert es einfach mal :) PS: Vegan, Vegetarisch und auch Butter-Chicken waren köstlich.

Sehr gut zu recht später Stunde gegessen. Chicken Curry/Mango Lassi kann ich empfehlen. Wurden äusserst freundlich empfangen und bedient.

Bis jetzt wiederholt das Mittagsangebot genutzt. Besteht aus drei-vier Gerichten zu denen man sich nach Lust und Laune Reis, Salat, gebackenes Gemüse mit verschiedenen Dipps nehmen kann. Es gibt auch immer auch Nachtisch, bis zu den ich es bis jetzt noch nie geschafft habe. Dieses Angebot und auch die gebotene Qualität finde ich sehr ansprechend. Update von 03.05.2023: Ursprünglich hatte ich an der Stelle Mal die Polsterung moniert die langsam in die Jahre gekommen ist. ABER ... Der Gastraum wurde wirklich hübsch erneuert. Besonders praktisch ist nun auch dir Nische in der das Buffet für den Mittagstisch aufgebaut ist - diese ist inzwischen ebenerdig zum Gastraum und damit um eine kleine und gemeine Stolperfalle entschärft, die kann nur zu gerne übersehen ist wenn man nur Blicke für das weiterhin extrem leckere Essen hat. Habt Ihr wirklich top gemacht und freue mich, dass Ihr weiterhin Euren guten Geschmack so aufrecht erhalten könnt!

Ich habe das Essen per Lieferando bestellt. Lieferung war pünktlich und sogar schneller, als die angegebene Zeit. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Ich kann das Butter Chicken zusammen mit Naan sehr empfehlen! Ich werde dort bestimmt nochmal bestellen. Für Indisch-Liebhaher ein muss

Ich hab 30 Jahre lang indische die Küche vermieden, weil ich kein Curry mag. Nun hat mein Freund mich überredet, das mal auszuprobieren. Und ja es gab in dem riesen Menü auch Gerichte ohne Curry 😂 angefangen habe wir somit mit der indischen Tradition Butter Chicken und dem Damm Chicken Biryani, dazu gab's als süßes Gulab Jamun und Lassi Mango. Also das essen war echt top! Super im Geschmack und kam warm hier an. Die Gulab waren für mich leider nix aber die Mango Lassi waren auch super lecker 😋 also nun konnte mich MAHARAJA PALACE für die indische Küche begeistern und wir bestellen safe öfters

Endlich mal wieder hier gegessen, oder vielmehr Essen abgeholt. Mittagsgericht M8 Lammcurry. Fantastischer Geschmack. Schnell zubereitet. Günstiger Preis. Portion reicht für 2. Fleisch fast durchgängig zart. Parkplatzsituation schlecht.

Ich habe mir eine als "knusprige Ente" deklarierte Ente bestellt. Dass das Gericht lauwarm war - naja - konnte man in der Mikrowelle heiß machen. Jedoch war die Ente alles andere als knusprig. Leider wurde ich das Gefühl nicht los, dass das Gericht evtl. schon ab und zu erhitzt wurde und dadurch die Qualität gelitten hat. Die Hälfte dieses Gerichts habe ich der Mülltonne "übergeben". Jedenfalls habe ich hier das erste und letzte Mal etwas bestellt. Ich habe das Essen über einen Lieferdienst liefern lassen, so dass ich zum Restaurant keine Angaben machen kann.

We were in three at lunch. They have very cheap all you cane at formula. Everything was quite good and the dishes are hot. You can compose your dish with rice, chicken, curry, vegetables etc. If the waiters will become more nice, I’ll give for sure the Max score!

Telefonisch bestellt, Bestellung kam zügig, aber natürlich hatte der Fahrer kein Wechselgeld dabei. Also hab ich ihm sehr viel mehr mitgegeben, er hat zugesagt, nach 10 Minuten wieder da zu sein. Nach 30 Minuten habe ich beim Restaurant angerufen. "Fahrer kommt gleich". Nach 60 Minuten nochmal angerufen. "Fahrer kommt gleich". Ich hatte dann noch die Polizei erwähnt. Dann ging es schnell. Nach insgesamt 70 Minuten war das Wechselgeld da. Das Essen? Eher langweilig. Das war früher deutlich besser gewürzt. Bei den Kartoffeln z.B. haben die Tomaten gefehlt, wonders der Ingwer. Warum schreiben die das dann bei den Gerichten dazu, wenn sie es nicht reintun? Leider nichts mehr.

Butter Chicken war sehr mild sonst gut, Lassi, Nan Brot alles gut, freundlicher , flotter Service, die Parkplatzlage ist eher katastrophal Insgesamt brauchbarer Inder ohne besondere Höhen und Tiefen den man mal ausprobieren sollte, dummerweise hatten wir beide Butter Chicken und das ist jetzt nun mal nicht das absolute Highlight indischer Küchenkunst.

Wie besuchten zusammen mit einer Gruppe Freunden, auf Empfehlung von Verwandten, im April das Lokal Maharaja Palace, das in der Südstadt von Nürnberg nicht unweit des Hauptbahnhofs liegt. Beim Betreten der Räumlichkeiten wurde man sofort mit der typisch klischeehaften Dekoration wie es sie in vielen indischen Restaurants in Deutschland gibt konfrontiert - dunkles Holz, Gold, Ornamente und Statuen überall wo man hinblickt. Das alles wirkt leider sehr schwer und ist meiner Meinung nach einer angenehmen Atmosphäre nicht gerade zuträglich. Allgemein wäre hier der Mut indischer Restaurantbesitzer zu moderneren Gestaltungselementen durchaus angebracht. Nachdem wir an unserem Tisch Platz nahmen, konnten wir bald darauf Getränke bei der freundlichen Servicekraft bestellen. Die Speisekarte bietet eine wirklich große Auswahl an unterschiedlichen indischen Gerichten. Dabei sind vor allem auch viele Optionen für Vegetarier und Veganer unter den angebotenen Speißen vorhanden (ein großer Anteil der indischen Bevölkerung ernährt sich weitestgehend fleischlos). Meine Wahl fiel dabei auf das Askim Green Chicken Tandoori aus der Spezialitäten-Sektion der Karte. Dabei handelt es sich um mit Spinat, Minze und Koriander mariniertes Hühnerfleisch. Als Beilage gibt es unterschiedliche Gemüse und Reis. Dazu bestellte ich noch Knoblauch-Naan. Das Essen kam nach angemessener Wartezeit auf den Tisch. Das von mir bestellte Gericht kam auch sehr heiß, da es auf einer fast glühenden Gusseisenplatte serviert wurde. Dadurch verbrannten jedoch leider die sehr fein geschnittenen Karottenstreifen meines Beilagengemüses welches sich ebenfalls mit auf der Platte befand. Das Hähnchen selbst war noch zart, hätte aber auch keine weitere Hitze mehr vertragen. Die grüne Marinade war sehr schmackhaft. An manchen Stellen war das Gericht jedoch unterschiedlich scharf. Das restliche Gemüse und der Reis waren in Ordnung. Zu den bestellten Speisen wurde kommentarlos eine grüne Soße gereicht und am anderen Ende des Tisches platziert, sodass keiner der anwesenden Personen genau wusste, zu was diese nun gehören sollte. Das von mir bestellte Knoblauch-Naan schmeckte in keinster Weise nach Knoblauch. Ich vermute dass entweder viel zu wenig Knoblauch verwendet oder mir einfach durch eine Verwechslung ein normales Naan-Brot serviert wurde. Insgesamt fiel die Geschmackexplosion, wie sie in anderen indischen Lokalen durchaus vorkommt, kleiner als erwartet aus. Als wir bei der Servicekraft zum Abschluss des Abends einzeln bezahlen wollten, wurden wir gefragt, ob wir uns unsere Einzelbeiträge zur Gesamtrechnung selbst ausrechnen wollen. Allein eine solche Nachfrage seitens des Kellners erachte ich als Gast als überaus befremdlich.

Zum Geschäftsessen eingeladen worden und vom doch natürlichen Geschmack der Speisen sehr angetan. Qualität der Gerichte hat überzeugt Der Chef bedient selbst und war immer sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Das Essen war schön heiss und schmeckte sehr lecker..

Ich war dort zum Mittagessen. Unter der Woche gibt es im Restaurant mittags ein All-you-can-Eat-Buffet zum sensationellen Preis. Und das Essen ist wirklich lecker. Man sollte aber besser reservieren, damit man nicht enttäuscht wird. Die Bedienung ist schnell und freundlich. Das Restaurant gut eingerichtet und gepflegt. Eine echte Empfehlung.

Eigentlich sind wir seid vielen Jahren regelmäßige Gäste des Maharja Palace, denn bisher waren wir sowohl mit den Speisen als auch mit der Atmosphäre des Restaurants sehr zufrieden. Doch unser letzter Besuch war leider alles andere als erfreulich. Und zwar hat sich bei uns der Eindruck durchgesetzt, dass die hygienischen Verhältnisse des Restaurants nicht mehr besonders gut sind. Konkret: Im Reis befanden sich zahlreiche kleine schwarze winzige Fliegen, die auch nicht nur an der Oberfläche waren, sondern auch im Inneren. Einfach nur eklig. Leider fiel uns dies erst im Laufe der Mahlzeit so richtig auf. Als wir den Kellner darauf aufmerksam machten, tat er ganz erstaunt, ging aber dann nicht weiter darauf ein. Auch die Art, wie der Nebentisch "gereinigt" wurde (einfach mal kurz drüberwedeln) war nicht sehr vertrauenserweckend. Die Speisen selbst schmeckten nach wie vor ok, deshalb immer noch zwei Sterne. Dennoch: Dies war definitiv unser letzter Besuch beim Majaraja Palace. Eigentlich wirklich schade!

Wir kommen nun schon seid einigen Jahren zum Maharaja und freuen uns, dass sich die Qualität so lange kontinuierlich hält. Der Chef ist immer sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Auch Bestellungen nach Hause sind fix da und das Essen immer warm und lecker..

Die Speisekarte bietet die Inter-typische Vielfalt an Gerichten – mit diversen Optionen für Vegetarier und auch einigen Gerichten für Veganer. Auch Extrawünsche werden berücksichtigt. Die Portionen sind reichlich, der Reis ist schön fluffig und man wird locker satt. Der Lassi ist sehr zu empfehlen. Uns hat es durchweg geschmeckt! Das Restaurant selbst ist behaglich eingerichtet, verschieden große Tische bieten Platz für Pärchen, kleine und auch größere Gruppen. Der Service war grundsätzlich sehr nett – noch toller wäre es gewesen, wenn man unserer Gruppe nicht einfach komentarlos die Gesamtrechnung auf den Tisch gelegt, sondern individuell mit den einzelnen Personen abgerechnet hätte. Die Sanitärräume befinden sich – über eine Treppe erreichbar – im Keller, also leider nicht barrierefrei. Bei den Damen sind die WCs so knapp abgeteilt, dass man mit einem Bein in einen sehr schmalen Bereich zwischen WC und Abtrennung treten muss, um die Tür überhaupt schließen zu können. Bei weiter Kleidung würde man da den WC-Sitz berühren, wenn man nicht aufpasst – nicht so lecker. Für kräftigere Personen oder Mamas mit Kind dürfte das Betreten der WC-Kabine erst recht arg akrobatisch werden.

Sehr gutes Indisches Essen. Vorallem die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und das Essen war auch sehr gut.

My woman and I spent 3 days in this great city. We felt we were a little out of the way with regards to restaurants and places to eat though. We came upon the Maharaja Palace really by accident and just through wandering around trying to find somewhere to eat. We both love a curry and so we went in and asked for a table for two. My German isn't the best at all but I managed to ask for the table in German. It was soon obvious that we would have problems though with the ordering and so the owner/manager came over and tended to us. He was very friendly and his English was excellent. The meal was faultless - I had a chicken Madras and Anne had a Korma. In England we are used to having chips ( or fries ), and although not the norm in Nurnberg, the manager sorted some out for us. The rice was beautiful. I also had a glass of very tasty Dunkel Bier. The décor was very traditional and Indian orientated which I liked very much. We went back again two days later for a final meal before we flew back home. You will not be disappointed if you eat here. Rory and Anne

Came here after the Rock im Park festival, great house specials and good curry's highly recommend. We are quite used to good indian food and Maharaja met our expectations.

My fiancée and I love curry so wherever we go we try the local offering. Maharaja Palace was very near our Airbnb so we thought we would give it a try. We got there about 8:30 and it was full so the man who I think may be the owner said to come back in 30 minutes. The two guys who arrived just after us decided they couldn’t wait and went off presumably to try and find somewhere else for dinner. We were not in a rush so went for a wander and found a little cafe nearby to have a beer. When we came back at 9pm there were a couple of tables free so we were seated right away. The menu was in German but had some English translations underneath. I had read on tripadvisor that their version of spice is dampened for the German palate so we ordered the mixed pakora to start and when I ordered the green chicken I asked for extra spice. The waiter seemed surprised but agreed nonetheless. My fiancée ordered the lamb madras (which had a chilli warning next to it already!) and the waiter warned him that it would be hot. The mixed pakora arrived and was a nice mix of vegetables, paneer and chicken breast in a light batter but the chef had been extremely heavy handed with the salt and pepper which made it unpleasant to eat. The actual food was cooked nicely and the three dips (mango, green chilli and raita) were very flavoursome. We think maybe on this dish they just made an error on seasoning so didn’t complain. The mains arrived and my green chicken came with some steamed veg on top and was on a bed of some sort of orange pickled veg which was quite tasty. The two person portion of basmati was fluffy and very nice. My other half’s lamb madras was really flavourful and spicy but not too hot and the naans were soft and crispy all in the right places. You could tell the waiters were very busy but they were all very polite and quick to clear up our empty dishes. I definitely would not be put off by our too-peppery and too-salty starter as I think this was probably a one off and the main dishes were very nice. I would recommend this restaurant but think it is important to pick the right items on the menu as some may be better than others. The green chicken, lamb madras and the fluffy basmati rice were our highlights.

I got the chicken that was not up to other dishes i saw on other tables. So my counsel is to go for vegetarian food! If i have the chance i will go back... but not for the chicken

The minute you walk in you feel welcome. The owner himself with a big smile on his face makes you feel at home. We opted for the dinner buffet and must say the variety offered for the money charged is a steal. 3 types of non veg curries, 3 types of vegetarian curries, starters, soups and also desserts 🍨. The food 🥘 quality was good. Recommended!!

Very friendly people, nice and clean restaurant, and very good food, think that summons it up. They have a broad variety of dishes and drinks, all at a very affordable price. I can highly recommend this place

One of the best Indian food I had till now in Germany , I asked them to make it a bit spicy and they did that , service was pretty good too.

We're four female friends who like to have dinner at different ethnic restaurants (German, Japanese, Ethiopian..). We read the good reviews of this restaurant on different sites. The waiter was friendly and there was no rushing us. We had 4 different choices from mango chicken to coriander chicken and mango lamb with rice and bread. The food was really good and the place ok looking. The toilets were fairly clean. In short: This place is a good choice nd prices are still not to outrageous.

Not many Indian restaurants offer biryani. This is the best biryani I had so far in Nuremberg. Butter chicken is also good. Car parking is a headache......

Maharaja palace is a Great place to Dine in if you are around City Centre of Nuremberg. They are well placed in the city..if you are around visiting tourist attractions, this would be your best place to go for Lunch OR dinner..they have great variety and make to the customer taste.we really enjoyed the Yummy Thali..i would recommend this restaurant 100%
