Luisengarten Restaurant in Würzburg

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant. My experience was disappointing, both in terms of service and food quality. The staff was not very respectful and didn't seem to really care about the guests' satisfaction. I also got the impression that many positive reviews on the Internet are advertising and do not reflect reality. I hope the restaurant works on these points to provide a better experience for its guests.

Very tasty authentic food, a trip into the world of the Orient. The opportunity to taste your way through the different dishes is simply great. The vegan dishes are very varied and a tip even for meat eaters. Very nice staff.

Excellent food in a lovely atmosphere with courteous and warm staff. What more could you want? :) Absolute recommendation!

The price is high and the taste is not good

Unfortunately, it was not a good experience! The behavior of the waiters was not friendly at all (I later found out that one of them is the manager of the restaurant) and even though the restaurant was quiet, it took a long time to talk to them. The way the food was served was also not good, the flavors were mixed, for example, chicken stew, kebab and rice were served together in one plate. What I didn't expect at all was the taste of kebab, which was not kebab at all! Something like low quality Turkish kebab Adana. And finally, considering the price of the food, I do not recommend it at all!

Es war wunderschön. Das schönste Restaurant in ganz Würzburg. Super sauber, tolle Einrichtung und das beste Team. Das Essen ist einmalig und einzigartig. Wir fühlen uns sehr wohl. Auch der Nachtisch und die super leckere selbstgemachte Limonade, lecker. Von uns gibt es alle Sterne am Himmel 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟

A Persian restaurant with amazing kubideh and djuje kebabs. Unfortunately these two items only come as part of a plate with other things as well while I could just eat more kubideh. It is a shame that they did not have kashk and therefore kashk e bademjan which is one of my favorite Iranian dishes. Still I was very happy to taste authentic Persian food in Wurzburg.

We came to Würzburg for a concert and visited the Luisengarten for dinner. Great ambience, great service. The food is great. Chicken and lamb kebabs cooked to perfection and well seasoned. We will definitely come back on our next trip to Würzburg.

If you want to try out some completely new flavors, this is the right place! Very tasty, greetings from Afghanistan and ancient Persia. Super coordinated dishes. The fluffiest and crispiest falafel I've ever had! It's a little more expensive than the usual restaurant, but worth every cent.

I really enjoyed the food, the taste seems to be really authentic! The menu is small you have not so many choices but I think is enough, only one minus point is the cost ratio which I found quite high for a city like Würzburg… Otherwise I really recommend it! We even got a surprise in the end, they served us a really tasty dessert!

Iranian cuisine, very good food, always freshly made, raisin rice is fantastic. The desserts are not only beautiful to look at, they also taste great.

I was really torn between 4 and 5 stars because honestly the experience was worth 4.5 stars. I will come back and would recommend the restaurant to everyone. The "concerns" I write about in the message are really just for the restaurant to consider and for customers to be aware of, but should not be a complete deterrent. The Great: The food was excellent and the service was good. Everyone was friendly and the food came quickly and tasted great. Overall no complaints taste or service wise. The dessert that came with the meal was literally phenomenal. I honestly kept saying, oh my god, while eating it, the dessert was defiantly the star of the show. The only concern/issue really was, ironically, with this dessert itself. I'm vegetarian, so we ordered from the vegan menu. When we ordered from the vegan menu, I assumed that all of the food we would be served would actually be vegan. But the dessert wasn't vegan, it was definitely dairy based, I could tell after just three bites that something was different and it wasn't a vegan dessert, but the staff didn't mention that the food was different from the menu, which we had ordered. Now that I'm vegetarian, this isn't a problem, but if anyone in our group were vegan, or worse, had a dairy allergy, they probably wouldn't have expected dairy in their meal if they had ordered from the vegan menu. As I said, everything was great and we really enjoyed our time, but the staff should have asked us if it was safe for us to eat dairy since we had ordered from the vegan menu. Edit as a reply to the manager the desert was just brought to our table we did not order them and assumed they came with the vegan platter we ordered.

It wasn't Iranian(Persian) food. There is something in the menu, but they bring something else. We were very disappointed because we expected Iranian food but only the name of the food was djuje kabab or zereshkpolo. The quality was poor and the price was too low very high.

Today was our first time and certainly not the last time in this excellent Persian restaurant. We had homemade lemonade, appetizer platter, vegan and meat dishes, dessert. WOW, everything was homemade and handmade, the taste was a real experience because the dishes were not "over-seasoned", you could identify every single ingredient by taste and were neither overshadowed by cumin, saffron or other "supposedly typical 1001 Nights" spices. The service couldn't be better, friendly, attentive and quick. The food didn't take long to arrive. I found the atmosphere very pleasant and inviting. Thank you for this delicious taste experience.

Traditional Persian Iranian menus. Ideal for vegans and vegetarians. The starter can feed 2 people easily. Really great to taste the flavours of the region.

Really very good food, but: this time very, very bad service. Not only did a drink not come (which can always happen), but we had made a reservation and had to wait over 30 minutes until someone came and took the order. The main course arrived after an hour and 45 minutes! Particularly annoying: others who came after us were served much earlier - for whatever reason, there was no apology. That's really not possible and you felt like a second class guest! Previous experiences on site were much better, but unfortunately this time it was simply poor value for money (dishes at 22 euros, starter platter at 17 euros!). Such a habit is simply detrimental to business - incomprehensible.

We had the menu for 2 people with meat. Each bowl and key has a completely different taste and it is really delicious. Added to this are the beautiful design of the rooms and the great service. It's a shame I didn't have room in my stomach to try dessert.

Mein erster Eindruck war so dass die Räumlichkeiten sehr schön eingerichtet und sehr einladend waren. Geschmacklich war die Vorspeise in Ordnung und schön eingerichtet jedoch Hauptgang hatte mit persiches Essen nichts zutun gehabt. Es war leider katastrophal. Gesamte Personal war leider sehr Unachtsam und sehr unfreundlich. Die Unstimmigkeiten und respektlose Umgang untereinander "Personal" war sehr zu spüren. Ob ich nochmal dahingehen möchte nein Danke.

An outdated facility. However, it has now been renovated and is very chic. However, the food is great, good portions, great taste. the nougat parfait goes straight to your hips, the coffee tastes good and wakes the dead. Nice staff. Gladly again.

Persian restaurant. The menu is a little different than usual, but once you know what it means to order an appetizer, it's absolutely fine. The two of us were full from two starters. Once you see the cake stand of happiness and once you see Mazze Royal, a vegetarian starter selection.

Mega experience, stylish and cozy atmosphere, friendly and courteous service, moderate prices for an extremely good vegan menu prepared with love, I love it and will definitely come back. Thanks for the great evening!

Amazing, mainly Iranian fusion, the set menu is surprisingly cheap for the quality (and quantity) served. A really good find in a mainly residential area still close to the city centre.

Beautiful atmosphere and super tasty

The food is really delicious! There was never a Persian in Würzburg before, which is why a visit there is definitely recommended. Portions are generous, no long waiting times. Only the basement didn't really communicate with us, but that could have just been a bad day, which everyone has. We'd love to come back!

The food, especially the appetizer platter, was very good, and the atmosphere was also very nice. The one star deduction is only because of the waiter, he said maybe 3 words during the entire course of our visit, didn't ask once if everything was good/tasted good or ask if we would like something more to drink, etc. Plates were removed from the table without comment, we missed the hospitality a bit. Purely from the food point of view, 5/5.

The first thing that catches your eye are the lovingly designed menu cards: high quality, full of creative quotes and personal touches. The service here can keep up well, is friendly and very attentive. The food we ordered came very quickly and was extremely tasty. Everything seemed fresh and homemade, the selection was huge and excellently coordinated. The apparently high price is more than justified for the quality and especially the quantity of food that is served. We weren't the only ones who confused the starter with the main course and were therefore already a bit full from the extensive starter platter when our main course arrived. Here too, the service was very attentive, kept an eye on all the tables, quickly cleared plates and brought the next course independently. All in all it was a wonderful evening with excellent food. We are very satisfied and are already looking forward to our next visit.

Overall, very tasty dishes and a well put together menu. The taste is good, although not outstanding. Service was ok, but unfortunately only there for the bare essentials.

Food was good and the staff were extremely friendly. But unfortunately the food on offer is not exactly cheap and the portions are quite small. We ordered a platter for 4 people for €72.90 (see photo), which didn't fill us up, even though some of us aren't good eaters. Unfortunately, the price/quantity ratio is not right here. The atmosphere is more middle-class than oriental, which doesn't bother me at all because it reminds me of the old Luisengarten. The toilets have been renovated very nicely. Addendum: In April 2023, I was also contacted by the "MGS Internet Law Firm" and asked to delete my experience report because it "violated the complainant's rights". It's a shame that the owner can't handle criticism and uses such questionable means to make his restaurant look better than it actually is. That is not how it works! That's why I deducted another star.

A special experience in the Luisengarten. One thing in advance... the four star rating is based solely on the fact that dogs are not allowed. We definitely don't think this is okay. The dishes were all very tasty and tasteful... Price-performance ratio is very high, with small portions. We were very happy about the boss's surprise in the form of a dessert 😍 The service was good and the ambience is very attractive 👍 Because of our dog 🐕 this will probably be our only visit.

We were there for the first time yesterday because my wife really wanted to have Persian food. I was totally skeptical at first. But what can I say other than absolute awesome. Super delicious food, always friendly staff and I could have indulged in the homemade sour cherry lemonade. We will definitely be back 100% and are already looking forward to the excellent culinary delights.

I was there for the first time today for a working lunch. I suffer from a chronic illness and therefore cannot eat many spices. It was clear to me that this restaurant only serves dishes with a lot of spices. I then politely asked if I could get a portion of rice without spices. It was then immediately denied. They don't have any side dishes I would have to order a menu. He didn't know whether I was from the tax office and would check it and he couldn't enter it into the cash register like that. I then stocked up on drinks all evening and went home hungry. My colleagues were upset about this too. They've never experienced anything like that before. The ambience is very nice and my colleagues gave feedback that the food was very tasty. For me, however, it's a one-off visit because I can't eat anything there.

Top location for eating and for Family celebrations, underground car park a bit tight.

We made reservations days in advance for a birthday at 8:30 p.m. When we arrived the kitchen was already closed and we couldn't eat anymore. The waiter tried to explain to us that it was our fault because we were 10 minutes late (pouring rain). There was no apology or anything like that. The waiter also assumed that we had just made a quick reservation, for whatever reason. The restaurant closes at 10 p.m Clock. Anyone who allows reservations should also be able to serve. Also no exception. Very disappointing. We won't come here anymore.

Dishes unfortunately very far removed from the true traditional Persian cuisine (even if it is not a pure Persian restaurant) - the Persian basics were missing (even if the non-Persian waiter had a different opinion ;)). Portions a bit small (price/performance not in proportion), no real menu selection. Very unfortunate...

Alles, wirklich alles hat fade und wenig gewürzt geschmeckt. Das sind wir von dieser Art Küche nicht gewohnt. Scharf ist nicht persisch, aber sehr wohl aromatisch und würzig. Eine Hähnchenkeule, ein Häufchen Curry Huhn (zu trocken) und 2 dünne Streifen Hackfleisch ala türkischer Imbiss, sind zu wenig für 2 Personen. Keine Minze, kein Korriander, kein Zimt oder irgendwas aromatisches … Nein, das ist nicht Persien, das ist langweilige Küche. Enttäuscht waren wir auch, dass keine persischen Getränke angeboten werden. Abseits von Tee gibt es im ehemaligen persischen Reich sehr wohl Alkoholika. Jordanischer, syrischer oder libanesischer Wein zählt zu einen der Besten Weine der Welt. Nach dieser Enttäuschung habe ich mir die Sendung „Mein Lokal, dein Lokal“ mit diesem Lokal angeschaut und es hat mich nur bestätigt. Es gibt bessere Lokale in dieser Richtung. Wir sind Fans von persischen, syrischen und türkischen Essen, gerade wegen der Aromen! Die Einrichtung erinnert bestenfalls an ein gut fränkisches Lokal und 1000 und eine Nacht fehlt. Keine Empfehlung !Nachtrag: Mittlerweile wird mir mit anwaltlicher Hilfe des Restaurants wegen diesen Kommentar gedroht! Vor was haben diese Besitzer Angst? Great is the word that describes it best. Great atmosphere, great service and great food. Especially if you don't know Persian cuisine yet, you should be surprised. A real experience.

This is a great restaurant which offers a couple of choices of 3 course meals (which are served at the same time). We really enjoyed our food, the service and the general atmosphere of this restaurant. We highly recommend this for anyone!

Wir waren nach etwa über einem Jahr wieder im Luisengarten persisch essen und waren, sowohl von dem Ambiente als auch von der Präsentation der Speisen, sehr positiv überrascht. Die Räumlichkeiten sind sehr schön geworden, allerdings noch ein bisschen hellhörig. Aber das lässt sich ja jederzeit nachbessern. Die Präsentation der Speisen auf Etageren macht Lust auf mehr, auch das Essen selbst. Der Luisengarten hat eine ausreichende Weinauswahl, insbesondere hochwertige Weine vom Weingut Wirsching aus Unterfranken. Ob man unbedingt landestypische bzw. libanesische Weine präsentieren muss, lass ich dahingestellt. Der Service war sehr freundlich, die Chefin hat sich persönlich um all ihre Gäste gekümmert. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder und sicherlich schon sehr bald.

The restaurant has been beautifully renovated, pleasant atmosphere, very friendly staff and excellent Food. This restaurant is more than recommended for anyone who wants to try or loves Persian/Afghan cuisine.

Ambience - rather simple and classic, bright, not overloaded, we felt very comfortable. Service - attentive, friendly, that was perfect Food - AMAZING!!! It's a shame that we were only able to enjoy the restaurant on one evening on our city tour. If we lived in Würzburg and the surrounding area, we would be in this restaurant regularly.

Were there for Valentine's Day. We and many other guests found it very stupid that there was only the menu and there was no other choice. This was not pointed out when making the reservation. We thought that was a shame. As always, the food was plentiful and good, but also quite expensive. But you also have a large mix of dishes

We've been here several times since the restaurant went under the name "Persian" and we've been COMPLETELY satisfied every time. Friendly welcome, attentive service and the food was always great. We also recommend a very tasty mixed dessert plate if you are not already full. Furthermore, the comments criticizing the portion sizes are nonsense. Because the boss expressly emphasizes that you can order more free of charge (!) if there is not enough.

The joujeh was ok. Its koubide wasn't that good. The portion amount of food wasn't enough. The service and staff wasn't really appealing. We had to pay in cash, no receipt was given. Just a picture of their phone.

I visited the Luisengarten restaurant based on the positive reviews in the hope of experiencing a culinary revelation. Unfortunately, I was seriously disappointed. At first I noticed the atmosphere of the restaurant negatively. The furnishings seemed outdated and carelessly thrown together. The tables were placed close together, eliminating any intimacy or privacy. There was also an uncomfortable silence as the background music was barely audible. The staff was polite but not very attentive. It took forever for our order to be taken and even then we were forgotten several times and had to repeatedly ask about the drinks and food we ordered. The food itself was disappointing. The dishes were unimaginative and tasteless. It seemed like the chefs had lost all creativity and passion for preparing vegan food. The portions were also ridiculously small for the price we paid. It felt like paying for air. I was hoping to have a gastronomic experience at Restaurant Luisengarten that would rethink my preconceptions about vegan food. Instead, I left with an empty stomach and an empty wallet. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the Luisengarten restaurant and will definitely not visit it again.
