Very nice, busy place on a Saturday evening. Staff good even though it was really busy. Good schnitzel and burger. There is a courtyard where you can sit 'outside'. Would go again.

We were a group of 10. The meat eaters were mostly satisfied and had large portions. The lentil salad was tiny, and the seasonal salad contained exactly 1 1/2 cherry tomatoes and a sliced ​​egg. The rest of the salad consisted of radicchio and another salad. The dressing wasn't exactly generous. Overall, though, all the dishes were overpriced. The salad cost €16.90, and the shoulder of pork €27.90! The waiter was quick and very friendly.

I went on a wine cellar tour on Sunday. It was incredibly interesting. Highly recommended. Afterwards, we feasted on Wiener schnitzel with cranberries and fried potatoes outside. 😋

We reserved a table in advance. The food arrived very quickly. The price was more in the region of €25-30, but the portions were adequate but not excessive. What I missed was a certain wow factor. The food was good, but I wouldn't go back again.

Very good food, best Franconian wine, the service was not very attentive this time, and the city pigeons that roam around right up to the tables are pretty disgusting, then they fly up, and then nothing tastes good anymore. The chanterelle mushroom dishes are also outstanding and demonstrate that both meat lovers and vegetarians will find their fill. We chose Würzburg as a stopover on our trip. During our city tour, we discovered the Bürgerspital by chance. We first wanted to see what was on the menu. A friendly employee spontaneously brought us a menu. We were impressed by the selection and asked for a table. The waiter, Mr. Muharrem, served us very kindly and helped us choose our menu. The food was delicious, especially the chanterelle soup. This alone made the visit worthwhile. Overall, our stay at the Bürgerspital was very pleasant: great atmosphere, friendly staff, and very tasty food. They also offer a wide selection of delicious wines. A special thanks to the kitchen team. My wife and I definitely recommend it! We'll definitely be back when we're back in Würzburg.

The ambience in the baroque courtyard is simply beautiful, especially under a deep blue sky and sunshine, the colors are simply amazing! The wine selection from the Bürgerspital is excellent, with many wines available by the glass, both by the glass (0.25l) and by the 1/2 glass. Pair this with a well-matched salad with lemon-fried chicken strips, and it's a perfect evening on the wine tavern's terrace. The service was a bit abrupt, but that could also have been due to the temperature, so let's not be too blunt.

There were four of us at the restaurant, and we enjoyed the ambiance. The food was also delicious. Unfortunately, the service was very unsatisfactory. We went to the Bürgerspital for lunch and had fried chicken with potato salad for €24.90. The fried chicken was very similar to three chicken nuggets... unfortunately, they were already quite cold. I'm used to fried chicken differently, not deep-fried but oven-baked... The wine was excellent, and the service was friendly! But the food wasn't worth the money.

Civil Wedding at the Bürgerspital – Simply Perfect We celebrated our civil wedding at the Bürgerspital in April 2025 – and it was a complete success. We started with a stylish reception in the wine bar: fine drinks, delicious appetizers, and a lovely setting for a toast. Afterwards, we moved on to the tastefully decorated Häckerstube – with top-notch service and a fantastic menu. It was a special day in a special atmosphere. We would choose the Bürgerspital again anytime – and wholeheartedly recommend it. Many thanks to the entire team!

A unique culinary experience in an elegant setting We visited the Bürgerspital Weinstuben restaurant – and it was a wonderful experience! Although we only have one photo (of the appetizer), the visit was so pleasant and filled with friendly conversation with an incredibly friendly waiter that we simply forgot to take any pictures! The restaurant has a charming and stylish interior. The dishes are served with locally produced wine, which gives it a unique character. The meals were beautifully presented and truly delicious – a perfect combination of regional cuisine with a modern twist. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for not only good food, but also genuine hospitality and a special atmosphere.

Located in the heart of Würzburg, it has a very large beer garden in the courtyard. Parking is a bit difficult, but manageable. The service was generally good, although during our lunchtime visit, several tables were being set up, resulting in at least three glasses being dropped and the waiters running around in agitation. This didn't help the atmosphere. The food was average. The schnitzel unfortunately lacked flavor, and the potato and cucumber salad was extremely watery, soaking into the entire breaded portion of the schnitzel.

Beautiful beer garden. Unfortunately, the food wasn't that great. The service was slow. The beer was served from a bottle, and the glass seemed a bit overwhelming. If you wanted to order something else, you had to hold on to the waiter as you ran past. That's not how restaurants work in this price range.

We expected the Bürgerspital to have very good food, but what we experienced was sensational. The lentil salad and liver dumpling soup to start with were absolutely delicious. The zander as a main course was a dream, and the Schäufele (pork shoulder) was textbook. The crème brûlée was simply perfect, and the cheese selection was exquisite and quite generous. To go with it, a Silvaner from a prime location at an extremely reasonable price. All of this was topped off by a beautiful restaurant and extremely friendly service. 5 stars are actually not enough. Thank you so much, and we'll definitely see you soon when we're in the area again!

Beautiful ambience, excellent service, and a great selection of regional dishes at upscale prices. Unfortunately, the beer garden concept didn't quite match my expectations. We stopped here at lunchtime and actually just wanted a small, simple meal along with a "Achtel" (literally "eightle"), but they only serve wine bar dishes at upscale prices. Of course, there's the option to eat in the wine bar at slightly cheaper prices, but the ambiance here, facing a busy street, is the exact opposite of the courtyard. In short, the term "beer garden" suggests to me a place where simple food can be enjoyed at moderate prices in a casual atmosphere, but this doesn't correspond to the concept here. I also found the prices of the house wines to be overpriced. Charging more than the price of a bottle for a quarter of local wine, especially when you're at the source, personally put me off ordering.

A very nice and quaint restaurant with friendly staff. The food is very good, but the portion sizes have been significantly reduced, and the prices have risen. Unfortunately, it's becoming more and more of a purely tourist restaurant. The wine prices are unfortunately ridiculously high these days; a glass of single-vineyard wine for €14? For that, you can get almost the same wine as a whole Bocksbeutel. This can't be justified by the increased purchase prices, since it's wine from the winery itself. But regardless, anyone looking to spend a pleasant evening and treat themselves will be satisfied here.

Highly recommended despite the hefty prices, but you get fresh and delicious food and a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The service was very attentive, prompt, and friendly. The ambiance in the large courtyard is truly lovely, not too hot even in summer, thanks to the numerous parasols and tents, as well as comfortable chairs.

How good is this restaurant?! Two hundred stars wouldn't adequately honor our visit. We had a super-friendly waiter who provided outstanding service. The food came quickly and was excellent. The best part was that the chef brought our little son a toy car to play with, and he was allowed to ride it up and down the ramp in the entrance area. The ambiance at the Bürgerspital is also very impressive—several different rooms, simply magnificent. All in all, definitely a must-visit if you want to enjoy excellent food with wonderful wines. From student days, it was still well known as "BüSpi*" (BüSpi) by countless visitors, offering the finest wine, meatloaf, and the like. Today, it has risen to a star-rated restaurant, where even a pair of bratwursts with the finest mashed potatoes and a hearty Franconian glass of wine is a delight. Partly medieval ambiance, partly modern in the adjoining long building. Large courtyard with a restaurant. Highly recommended.

The atmosphere was good, and the wine and food were delicious. I ordered pork shoulder and tartare. The pork shoulder was soft on the outside and tender on the inside, which everyone would like, and the tartare was a different style of raw meat from Korean raw meat. If you can enjoy the original taste of raw meat, try it! It was nice to eat raw egg yolk in Germany. It was also nice to be able to taste Frankenwine, which they brew themselves. You could see that all the locals only drink wine. During the wine festival season, there was a wine party with a band performance in the central garden, so you could tell that this place is very serious about wine. Above all, it was a good environment to dine with a baby. There was a high chair, and the aisle was wide so the high chair was not inconvenient, and although it felt a little old, there was a spacious bathroom with a diaper changing table. There was also a children's menu, so children who are old enough to eat adult food can eat together. The staff also liked babies, so I felt kindly welcomed. Thanks to that, I was able to have a pleasant evening.

Bsp. eine Brotzeitplatte gibt es ausschließlich erst ab 2 Personen zu je 19,90 p.P. Über die Qualität kann ich dazu keinen Kommentar abgeben da ich mich von dem Angebot nicht angesprochen fühlte. 5,20 für eine Flasche Wasser 0,5 L. Ich schätze hier 700-1000% Aufschlag. 11,50 für Käsewürfel mit einer Scheibe Brot. Was gestern uns sehr wunderte und uns sprachlos werden ließ ist die sehr leckere Bratwurst in einem aufgebackenen Brötchen. Der Preis 4,00 € wenn das Brötchen frisch gewesen wäre. Zumindest nich aufgebacken, ist o.K. Die Musik war Klasse , leider zu laut. Man konnte sich lediglich in den Pausen unterhalten.

What a day. On a sunny Saturday, we visited friends in Würzburg. When we got hungry late in the afternoon, we all went to the Bürgerspital Weinstuben on their recommendation. Built in 1316, the historic walls are in excellent condition, and what Alexander Wiesenegg, his wife, and the entire team have achieved there left us in awe. There were many wonderful, cozy interiors, a fantastic inner garden with large parasols, set tables, lovingly decorated, and much more. The food was impressive. Whether it was asparagus, homemade hollandaise sauce, schnitzel, or Franconian bratwurst and foamed asparagus cream soup, everything was absolutely delicious and of the best quality we've had in a long time. The recommendation of the Bürgerspital's own wine to go with the meal was brilliant. The service was terrific. A large company was celebrating a corporate party there that day. Despite this, or perhaps precisely because of this, the trained waiters were all very friendly, polite, relaxed, attentive, and quick as lightning. The high level of professionalism left us, Nuremberg residents who are constantly underserved when it comes to food, with the positive feeling that things can be done differently and better. Thank you for this experience and a culinary crowning conclusion to the day.

I've never eaten so badly. Some of the food was only lukewarm, the roast potatoes were half-raw, and the meat was rare rather than medium. Also, not the best quality (tough) at €32 for a rump steak? Even the asparagus soup was very thin, and the asparagus pieces were almost raw. The waiter was immediately annoyed because not everyone was drinking wine. Non-alcoholic drinks are overpriced.
