I've never eaten so badly. Some of the food was only lukewarm, the roast potatoes were half-raw, and the meat was rare rather than medium. Also, not the best quality (tough) at €32 for a rump steak? Even the asparagus soup was very thin, and the asparagus pieces were almost raw. The waiter was immediately annoyed because not everyone was drinking wine. Non-alcoholic drinks are overpriced.

Very good food and wine, upscale, but worth the money. Attentive, friendly staff. I would definitely book again when I'm in Würzburg. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, the liver dumpling soup was a disappointment. The liver dumpling was fried. This wasn't what I expected. But the asparagus with veal schnitzel and the dessert tore everything back. Simply delicious. A special compliment to the great service.

The Büspi, our Franconian favorite From the first date to the wedding or just because: Büspi is our place to be if we want to eat and drink really good Franconian food and drink in a traditional ambience in Würzburg. Whether light and sunny in the beautiful courtyard with beef tartare or pike perch, or hearty with Schäufele or veal meatballs in autumn and winter in the old part of the room - it is always a culinary delight, crowned with perfect service and accompanied by fruity Bacchus. Recommendation for locals and tourists alike!!!

Friendly service, beautiful courtyard and delicious food. I understand that you too have increased purchase prices, but a Viennese-style schnitzel for 19.90 euros is very expensive. I can also get this elsewhere in Würzburg for 16-17 euros.

A wonderful asparagus meal, accompanied by a delicious Silvaner. A special experience with sunshine in the inner courtyard and a cheerful, Mediterranean atmosphere. Wir waren an Ostermontag mit der Familie hier. Aufgrund des schönen Wetters konnten wir draußen im Innenhof sitzen. Sehr schönes Ambiente. Gegessen haben wir sehr gut. Als Vorspeise Leberknödel-, Bärlauchsuppe oder gebeizter Lachs waren ein guter Starter. Die Hauptgerichte, ob Zitronenhähnchen, Wiener Schnitzel, Steak, Teufelsbowl oder Lammrücken mundeten sehr gut und waren sehr lecker. Die optimale Weinbegleitung zum Essen ist hier im Bürgerspital eine Selbstverständlichkeit, top. Der Service freundlich und aufmerksam. Lediglich die Preise sind zu hoch und halten mich davon ab den 5. Punkt zu geben. Trotzdem Empfehlung!

We spontaneously took a lunch break in Würzburg and looked for a restaurant with local food. The food was excellent and the service was friendly and available for an entertaining conversation. A successful start to the holiday for us.

The dishes are a bit expensive but the quality was good! The wild garlic cheese spaetzle with the side salad were very attractively prepared and also tasted very good. Finally a side salad without a lot of vinegar! The service was great! Gladly again

The atmosphere in the courtyard is great and the best recommendation when the weather is good. The food is also very good, but 50 euros for a portion of asparagus with boiled potatoes and a 200 g rump steak is really steep.

Frankonian foods, tasty but heavy. The atmosphere is nice. But the waitress was visibly upset with me somehow (maybe because I‘m not German?). She took drink orders from everyone on the table except me. While asked by my colleague, she defended herself saying didn‘t notice me! She was also making expressions while serving juice to me as I don‘t drink alcohol!

Very rustic wine bar with a good selection of food and wines

We had the great pleasure of dining at the Bürgerspital Weinstube in Würzburg and were completely thrilled! We would particularly like to highlight the exceptionally attentive and extremely friendly service, Ms. Möhring. Thanks to her, we felt welcome and well looked after at all times - despite the hustle and bustle with our baby. The food was a delight and the atmosphere in this traditional wine bar was simply wonderful. A big compliment to the entire team - but especially to Ms. Möhring, who made our visit perfect with her warm manner and professionalism. We'll definitely be back! Unreservedly recommended!

A perfect place with Franconian cuisine. We were invited by friends from Wurzburg - locals. I recommend taking wine rather than beer because the place definitely offers a better atmosphere to try the local white wine. Franconian wine soup, boiled beef in horseradish sauce and Wiener schnitzel are excellent choices. For desserts, I recommend lemon sorbet with champagne. I felt like a queen.

Very pleasant place. The food was excellent and there was nothing wrong with the quality. The service staff are really good and very well trained. The only thing that could put you off here would be the price of the individual dishes. You have to expect at least €50-60 per head if you want a starter or dessert.

I had dinner at Bürgerspital Weinstuben in Würzburg and went for a proper Franconian meal. I started with their Hausgemachte Rhabarberlimonade, which was refreshing and not overly sweet—a great balance of tart and fruity. For the starter, I had the Fränkische Mostsuppe, a regional specialty. It was creamy with a nice acidity from the most (fermented apple juice), making it a flavorful and interesting start to the meal. Definitely something worth trying if you want something local. For the main dish, I had the Paniertes Schweineschnitzel, which was exactly what a good schnitzel should be—crispy, golden-brown, and well-seasoned. No surprises here, just a well-executed classic. The restaurant itself has a traditional and welcoming atmosphere, making it a great place for a Franconian dining experience. Service was friendly and efficient, and while it’s not the cheapest spot, the quality matches the price. Overall, 4/5—solid food, well-prepared dishes, and a great place if you're looking for traditional Franconian cuisine in Würzburg.

In the middle of Würzburg and very centrally located. Quaint rustic atmosphere, beautiful outdoor area. Service very friendly and accommodating. Definitely trained professionals. Good selection of German and regional dishes. My selection of liver dumpling soup and Franconian sauerbraten with dumplings and red cabbage were very delicious. Of course, an excellent selection of wines from Franconian vines. Open wines are not served from the bottle, but rather from the barrel. Tram stop directly in front of the house, parking possible in several surrounding parking garages.

Ich muss vorausschicken, dass ich dieses Restaurant seit rund 30 Jahren durchschnittlich einmal im Jahr besucht habe. Das Bürgerspital mit seinen guten Weinen ist traditionell eine weitbekannte Institution in Würzburg! Diesmal habe ich mich auf eine saftige bayrische halbe Ente mit Klößen, leckerer Sauce, Klößen und Rotkraut gefreut. Das was serviert wurde, war leider auf ganzer Linie enttäuschend . Die Ente hatte praktisch keine Haut mehr (warum?) und war vollkommen trocken, sehnig und zäh. Ich hatte den Eindruck, dass diese Ente schon ein paarmal unter einem heißen Strahler aufgewärmt oder zu lange erhitzt wurde. Die Füllung schmeckte ebenfalls nicht, sie war völlig lieblos gemacht worden. Das alles für 33 Euro für ein Tellergericht! Gibt es in der Küche denn niemanden, der die Qualität des Essens kontrolliert? Sehr schade, aber ich kann über die Küche leider nichts besseres berichten, wohingegen der Wein (wir hatten den trockenen Würzburger Müller-Thurgau) immer noch überzeugt. Auch unsere Freunde (wir waren zu fünft) waren von der Qualität ihrer Gerichte nicht sonderlich begeistert. Hoffentlich kriegt dieses Restaurant die Kurve noch, damit die Qualität zukünftig wieder stimmt.

We had booked a wine tasting. We were really very satisfied. I can't say anything about the food because we didn't eat here

The table was a bit small, one of the waiters wasn't that nice, but the others were friendly and attentive. Food was super tasty 😋

We had reserved in advance for a large party, but in the end there weren't enough places. That's where the debacle began. When we were allowed to order drinks after what felt like an eternity, we were only served after another eternity. I ordered Spezi, I was told it only came in one size...okay. My neighbor ordered, suddenly they said they didn't have any specials... in the end I got a pilsner without asking (I was the driver). When the food came after another eternity, the fun was completely over. Three people had ordered the same thing and each clearly had less on their plate than the other. When we asked for extra requests, which we expressed in a very nice tone, we were only rudely approached. Basically, dealing with us was always very rough and annoyed. We were all calm and in a relaxed mood, the staff not at all! For the price and "good" name we would have expected more. By the way, friends reported exactly the same thing. Was there for the first and last time!

The food was very tasty, the service was friendly, the way to the toilet was a bit inconvenient and the dining room was very large and therefore not very comfortable.

When ordering there was a sense of déjà vu (from the last visit) - the food I wanted to order was out! The 1/4 duck was crispy and looked delicious, unfortunately it didn't taste like duck. I couldn't taste the filling ingredients (almonds?). Slightly firm consistency. The sauce was very salty and had a few grains of sand in it because the decorative lamb's lettuce wasn't washed properly. The savoy cabbage tasted “floury”. You have to mix your own spritzer from nectar and water, which makes it more expensive. I told the service about the sandy salad and would have liked at least a little liqueur or something else as compensation. The food is definitely too expensive for this service and the drinks are also too expensive for me. A chair wobbled badly. 2 points because the waiter was very nice and quick.

Anyone who visits Würzburg has to go to the wine bars. The food tastes very good, it is regionally cooked and there are many delicious wines, something for everyone

The menu was pre-determined, but most of us were ready to eat anything at this point. They served salad and a very tasty hot pumpkin soup. (I would like to find that soup again!) The main dish was Pork Knuckle with Dumplings. It looked interesting and it contained very tender dark port meat. I’m not sure what the dumplings were made of but I think it was mostly potatoes. Dessert was an apple strudel. The star of the meal was the wine. I normally prefer red wine, but this white wine called Burgerspital Weingut Spitalschoppen was very tasty. We luckily sat with some of our group who also loved the wine and additional bottles were purchased and consumed. It was a great celebration start to our Christmas Markets adventure.

At 2 p.m. on Monday almost all tables were free but unfortunately I was only given the smallest table. However, the soup was great, as was the wine. The ambience is very appealing. Management is attentive.

The restaurant offers exquisite dishes and a very good in-house wine. The prices are high, but the quality is correspondingly high. If you are in Würzburg and are planning an unforgettable culinary evening, this restaurant is highly recommended.

We chose the restaurant because of the good reviews, but found the price/performance ratio to be poor, similar to some other reviews. The furnishings are completely out of date and the left part of the dining room is very antiquated. Very differently sized portions of the Wiener Schnitzel, served lukewarm; the Tafelspitz (very good meat) covered with a horseradish-tinged roux; Drinks such as spritzers, for example, are served with two bottles on the wooden table for you to mix yourself. Unfortunately we can't recommend it, we were disappointed. Based on the reviews and photos, we were expecting a higher level.

It's a shame, it's a shame, the Bürgerspital used to be good and down-to-earth. Probably called to a higher place today. Obviously the service suffers. Yesterday I wanted to end the evening nicely after a wonderful concert visit. Unfortunately it was a bit late (10:35 p.m.). But on the homepage it says that you can order from the small menu until 11:30 p.m. and so I assumed that there should at least be a soup or an Oabatzten. But when we asked for something to eat, we were told "the kitchen is already out". We asked if there was at least one little thing and received the same answer: "the kitchen is already out". That's where we went. We even understand that there is no food this late. But obviously the homepage is not updated, otherwise we would have at least saved ourselves the trip. And a friendly word from the employee wouldn't have hurt either. All in all, it's a shame. Since we unfortunately only had a mediocre experience at the Bürgerspital a few weeks ago, we would have liked to have revised our opinion.

I had the venison with Schupfnudeln and red cabbage. Deer was hot, Red cabbage lukewarm Schupfnudeln unfortunately cold. Otherwise delicious.

The New Year's Eve menu was excellent. Everything was very good. Even the wine. The service was also excellent. It couldn't be better!!!

I cannot rate this place high enough. Everything was wonderful from the food, wine, appetizers, staff and decor. This was my favorite restaurant in all of Germany that I was able to try.

We decided to have our New Year's Eve dinner in Würzburg at the Bürgerapital. The decision was spot on and a wonderful evening. The menu was consistent and the individual components were sensibly worked out. The service and operation especially from Ludwig is to be highlighted and was never negligent or inattentive. We really enjoyed being guests here and would love to come back.

The restaurant is located in a magnificent building in Würzburg's old town and offers the best of Franconian cuisine and an excellent selection of Franconian wines. The Schäufele is delicious, juicy with a crispy rind, and the roasted goose is a work of art. I tried three types of wine: Riesling, Silvaner and Gewürztraminer. The waiters can recommend the right wine for each dish.

Taste good, price performance poor! Very elegant restaurant, fine ambience. We went for dinner with a group of 13. Nice table, enough space for everyone, the acoustics in the large and high room are also pleasant. The staff were incredible and the atmosphere was so welcoming and inviting. The food was absolutely amazing and you can tell it was made with love.

We actually go there every week. Good shop with slightly more upscale German cuisine. But this time it was a disaster. Starting with the reservation for the Christmas party, which was limited to two hours despite the call. The starters always came one at a time and the waitress had dirt under her fingernails. Despite the very good food, the impression of an assembly line restaurant was created!

Ordered the 1/4 duck roast and pork steak and their red wine. The duck tasted good, well cooked and seasoned. The pork steak was slightly chewy and under seasoned for my taste. The wine was the best, really smooth, easy to drink and knocked us out (probably due to the long day we had). We went for a really late lunch (2 hours before the dinner crowd) and were lucky to get a table but once we were done a long line of hungry guests showed up. Get your reservation in, try their wines and roast meats!

Price-performance ratio is definitely not right here! There were 10 of us and no one really enjoyed it. The liver dumplings were dry and much too firm, the quick-fried meat wasn't cooked to the right point, and the ice cream in the dessert was already half melted. The water glasses were also dirty - a no-go for me (lipstick residue and lots of water stains).

Unfortunately, our visit to the restaurant was disappointing. Guests with strollers don't seem to be welcome here. In addition, the atmosphere was not very relaxed - the waitresses had an obvious problem with each other. In my opinion, airing disagreements in front of guests is unprofessional and completely out of place in a restaurant like this.

Today we went to the Bürgerspital in Würzburg for Christmas dinner. The atmosphere was nice and the food was good. Unfortunately, we had a cat table with a lot of passing traffic, which led to a certain amount of unrest. In addition, the 3-course menu was rushed through in an hour. Unfortunately there was no real Christmas atmosphere.

The service was quite rude but professional. The food was delicious.
