The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. We had a wonderful Boxing Day.

We had the New Year's Eve menu with wine pairing, highly recommended. Everything was very festive. The food and atmosphere were superb.

We came with our family for the 5-course New Year's Eve menu. The service, welcome, and the menu were outstanding. The wine pairing (exclusively Bürgerspital wines, of course) was also a delightful surprise. We'd love to come back.

A magical winter wonderland in the courtyard of the Bürgerspital! The mulled wine was good, but the Obatzda cheese spread was unfortunately not... very hard.

We received two burgers (€22.50 each!) with burnt buns. They were supposed to remake them, but that wasn't possible, and we had to choose something else (in hindsight, we should have just left it and found something else, but we were there as a group). The replacement order took forever—the other guests in our group had to wait as well. At least the burgers weren't charged (very considerate 😏), and the fries were excellent. The server was very friendly and tried to salvage the situation. But in the end, we spent a lot of money on replacement food and wasted a lot of time in the process.

We went there twice. The staff is really very nice. The pumpkin soup was the best we've ever had. Overall, the food was delicious. The atmosphere is very cozy. :)

We only went to the wine counter, by a window. After that, you stand in the aisle or find a small seating area. Something different, definitely worth trying!

This is where you can find the best Viennese veal schnitzel in all of Würzburg. It tastes just like the schnitzel in Vienna.

An absolute must if you're going to Würzburg for a meal and want to experience a traditional Franconian culinary evening. Great food, great wine, super friendly service, and a charming, rustic atmosphere. Prices are reasonable for what you get.

We were here for the New Year's Eve menu and were quite disappointed with the main course (the quail skin was like rubber) and the dessert (the taste of both the chestnut parfait and the white cream was undefinable). We expected more for €125. The appetizers and the soup, however, were quite good. We were also annoyed when we saw in the waiting area that the menu was about €35 cheaper when ordered individually at the bar. Furthermore, our room was very noisy due to a group of about 14 people who banged their cutlery loudly on their plates after each course and started singing loudly in unison. This made conversation virtually impossible for us and other guests. Other guests were also visibly annoyed by the noise level. One would have expected a word of caution from the head waiter or chef de salle. After all, we weren't in the Hofbräuhaus.

Very good restaurant, regional cuisine.

The staff and managers are rude and unprofessional. I was with some very wealthy American tourists, and they treated them so poorly that our reservation was lost! They didn’t want to help at all. The place is overrated and unfriendly. There are far better options in Würzburg—we discovered four other wine spots that were much more friendly and accommodating. We ended up going to Juliusspital instead, which was a truly rewarding experience. You can’t change stupidity.

There were 13 of us! That was the perfect group size for the hosts!

The food was truly excellent, and so was the service. There was one small drawback, though: the liver dumpling was more of a meat dumpling – you couldn't taste the liver at all. As a standard, I can recommend the liver dumplings from Firsching genuss|hand|werk in Werneck.

We were there on Boxing Day with our whole family (8 people). Our time slot was from 11:30 to 13:30. The service was exceptionally friendly. All the dishes were delicious, and since our server and the kitchen were also very efficient, the two hours were plenty of time to enjoy the meal (including appetizers and desserts) in peace. Thank you so much for the wonderful Christmas dinner!

It was one of the worst meals I've had this year, apart from India. The red cabbage tasted like cinnamon, the dumplings weren't cooked through, and the pork shoulder wasn't very tasty. I even threw up that night. Unfortunately, I won't be going back.

The Bürgerspital is worth a visit at any time! During Advent, the winter wonderland in the courtyard is a small highlight with mulled wine, punch and treats.

Despite its size, this is a very cozy restaurant with a charming ambiance. The food is excellent. Here you can enjoy traditional Franconian cuisine as well as very "modern" dishes at a high level. During our visit, there was a very attractive Christmas market (Winterzauber) in the large outdoor area, creating a very festive and celebratory atmosphere. Highly recommended.

The Franconian classic, oven-fresh Schäufele (pork shoulder) with gravy and dumpling, as well as the quarter duck with festive red cabbage, gravy, and dumpling, were a culinary delight! The Mostsuppe (cider soup) for starters was a wonderful entrée, presented with a velvety cream foam! And the wines speak for themselves! Tip: make a reservation, go, and enjoy. The kitchen, the cellar, and the attentive service deserve the highest praise. Excellent! Keep it up. Thank you!

Unfortunately, today was the last time I, as a former fan of BügSpi, will eat here. Sadly, over the years, we've had the same dishes on the menu, in addition to the set menu. Today we had the pike-perch fillet, which was very good, but unfortunately, we also ordered the rump steak, which arrived with fried potatoes instead of the fries we ordered. On the second attempt, the rump steak was so tough that the server recommended I order something else. It's a shame; we wanted to eat together after a great concert, which was now impossible. Lacking any other options, I opted for the burger. It was okay. I would have loved to enjoy a nice Franconian dish, but the menu only offers Schäufele (pork shoulder) and wedding meals. I already gave up on the duck two years ago. It's simply a shame that they keep raising prices without offering anything creative or delicious. I hope this traditional restaurant will change. P.S. The service was excellent, and they even offered a complimentary glass of wine for dining alone. But for over 85 euros for a burger, pike-perch and a dessert, one can really expect significantly more quality.

I was only there for a conference for one day.

We had a very good dinner. The service was friendly, good and fast even though the restaurant was full.

Good food, reasonable portions. Service was very attentive 9 out of 10 times. It should be added that it's expensive (drinks!) and overcrowded. This is particularly unpleasant; you can't sit in peace, conversation is almost impossible, though you do contribute to the crowds yourself. Unfortunately, the ventilation system inside is so strong (and cold!) that it's uncomfortable. This significantly impacted our Christmas dinner this year. One star deducted for the ambiance. The winter wonderland in the courtyard is nice for warming up before dinner or having a nightcap afterward; it's nicely decorated and has a Christmas market feel.

Unfortunately, the evening was rather hectic. The aperitif arrived quite late, and the food was brought out immediately, along with the accompanying wine bar next to the aperitif and the roast goose. The hectic pace wasn't pleasant; one shouldn't have to change seats every two hours.

Highly recommended! Delicious food and absolutely sensational service. Culinary delights and entertainment. And of course, the perfect wine.

Great Bavarian food with local beer.

We had made a reservation for eight people and were given a table, but it was in a passageway. For an otherwise very attractive location, this was rather uninviting. For my starter, I chose the steak tartare. The DIY version was disappointing: I had to season and mix the meat completely myself. As a result, I couldn't achieve a satisfactory flavor. A corresponding note on the menu or from the server would have been absolutely necessary – especially at a price of €19.99, which I don't consider reasonable. However, I would like to commend the quarter duck with red cabbage – it was truly excellent.

Unfortunately, our expectations were not met. Both the starter and main course orders were mixed up or not delivered at the same time. The air in the vaulted cellar was very stuffy (many people, lots of candle smoke, almost no fresh air). The food tasted good overall, but it wasn't anything special.

Unfortunately, the waiter at the bar (Kamil?) had no clue about the fact that the wine sales benefit the hospital, or that the wine listed on the menu could only be sold by the bottle! What a shame!

An absolute must-see when visiting Würzburg: the Bürgerspital Wine Tavern and the Bürgerspital Restaurant. The wine tavern boasts a very stylish ambiance, reminiscent of a cozy bar, where you can enjoy wonderful conversation to relaxed, subdued background music and perfectly coordinated lighting. Of course, the icing on the cake is the excellent wine selection! Whether Silvaner, Müllett-Thurgau, or Riesling... you can't go wrong. And you absolutely must try the exquisite Steinwein, Würzburg's flagship wine! The restaurant offers typical Franconian specialties such as Blaue Zipfel (blue sausages), Schäufele (pork shoulder), and wild boar patties, all expertly prepared and approaching Michelin-star quality at a reasonable price. We had a very, very good meal and thoroughly enjoyed the evening in the vaulted cellar, which is reminiscent of a medieval wine cellar. Reservations are essential!

Fantastic food, fantastic atmosphere! I've rarely eaten so well – the soup was an absolute highlight. I highly recommend the cider soup; it's truly unique! One small drawback: Unfortunately, they don't have wheat beer on tap, only in 0.33l bottles. That doesn't quite fit with the otherwise wonderful experience. Nevertheless, a visit is definitely worthwhile!

Plenty of seats but always full. The food is delicious, the selection is extensive and high-quality, and the service is excellent 👍. Reservations are required.

The "pink-roasted duck breast" was anything but pink. Completely overcooked would be more accurate. More of a chewy than a "tender delight." In short: it was edible; it satisfied my hunger. But any kebab shop could manage that.

Great place kymco I have never felt as good as I did there

I ate here with my husband and our children a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, the food took forever. The service was okay, and so was the Bürgerspital wine bar itself. When the food finally arrived, it was the wrong one and unfortunately not very good. I thought I'd expect a special quality, especially given the prices. It wasn't for me, and unfortunately, I can't recommend it to anyone.

We had a terrible meal here a while ago. Burnt Brussels sprouts, over-seasoned red cabbage, dry potato dumplings, and a lackluster venison steak. Instead of responding constructively to the criticism, they requested an honest review from Google, alleging defamation. Who wants to eat here anymore? Why this review? It's been three years since we had the meal. However, Google informed me that Bürgerspital Weinstuben has requested the review be deleted. It's a minor issue, but unfortunately, the service that evening was just as bad as the food.

Incredibly good food and superb wine! I actually only wanted a quick lunch, but it turned into a long one. The duck breast was cooked to perfection, and the red cabbage was a dream! The wines were all excellent (I tried the Riesling, Silvaner, and Blaufränkisch), with the Blaufränkisch from Würzburger Stein being particularly noteworthy. The service was extremely polite, courteous, attentive, and friendly. All in all, a highly recommended restaurant! I'm going again today 😉

Very nice, busy place on a Saturday evening. Staff good even though it was really busy. Good schnitzel and burger. There is a courtyard where you can sit 'outside'. Would go again.

We were a group of 10. The meat eaters were mostly satisfied and had large portions. The lentil salad was tiny, and the seasonal salad contained exactly 1 1/2 cherry tomatoes and a sliced ​​egg. The rest of the salad consisted of radicchio and another salad. The dressing wasn't exactly generous. Overall, though, all the dishes were overpriced. The salad cost €16.90, and the shoulder of pork €27.90! The waiter was quick and very friendly.

We reserved a table in advance. The food arrived very quickly. The price was more in the region of €25-30, but the portions were adequate but not excessive. What I missed was a certain wow factor. The food was good, but I wouldn't go back again.

Very good food, best Franconian wine, the service was not very attentive this time, and the city pigeons that roam around right up to the tables are pretty disgusting, then they fly up, and then nothing tastes good anymore. The chanterelle mushroom dishes are also outstanding and demonstrate that both meat lovers and vegetarians will find their fill. We chose Würzburg as a stopover on our trip. During our city tour, we discovered the Bürgerspital by chance. We first wanted to see what was on the menu. A friendly employee spontaneously brought us a menu. We were impressed by the selection and asked for a table. The waiter, Mr. Muharrem, served us very kindly and helped us choose our menu. The food was delicious, especially the chanterelle soup. This alone made the visit worthwhile. Overall, our stay at the Bürgerspital was very pleasant: great atmosphere, friendly staff, and very tasty food. They also offer a wide selection of delicious wines. A special thanks to the kitchen team. My wife and I definitely recommend it! We'll definitely be back when we're back in Würzburg.
