Hospitality looks different for us. Basically, our site visit was okay, but nothing special. However, the service didn't make us feel comfortable at all. We were called to a table before the guests in front of us had even gotten up (uncomfortable for them and us). The same thing happened when we wanted to pay. It was clear that the emphasis here was on quantity rather than on politeness and guest satisfaction. We won't come by again in the future. As a tip for tourists: you can get really good ice cream across the street at the D.o.c.; delicious pizza around the corner in an alley at La Piazetta or across the Main Bridge at Osteria Trio.

You need a little patience until you get a place. The food is super delicious 😋 and the ice cream tastes good. I can only praise the service. Unfortunately it takes a while when the weather is nice. Gladly again in the heart of Würzburg

I usually never write Google reviews. But you have to feel sorry for the employees. Unfriendly and arrogant boss who - to put it mildly - treats not only us but also his own employees badly. Unfortunately, that ruined the entire visit. The location doesn't help either. Ice cream and coffee are by no means worse in surrounding cafés.

The ice cream is delicious, as is the food in general, but the male employees are very pushy with young women. Trying sexist jokes, flirting with you incessantly, staring at you. I went to the toilet and an employee ambushed me and waited in front of the toilet to ask me for my number.

Simply really delicious food. Generous menu many delicious drinks from Gintonic. About homemade lemonade everything mega good pizza and noodles were also just fantastic delicious large portions still relatively affordable prices. Staff very friendly and accommodating. We had a nice evening here and can recommend it without restrictions. The ice chest also looked incredibly tasty but we were too full for a dessert

Tuna salad was huge, fresh and delicious. Pizzas are also big and good.

Worst coffee I've had in years. We ordered two americanos (at EUR 4 each), which were burnt and bitter, totally undrinkable. The waiter was rude and unwelcoming.

Ice cream parlor? More like a restaurant and ice cream parlor - and here you know how to master the balancing act. Both the salads and the ice cream sundaes in summer are legendary.

Our regular restaurant in Würzburg for several years. The salads are simply incomparable. There are no such good salads anywhere. Unfortunately, the prices have risen significantly in the last few years/months and the meat portions/fish portions have become smaller. Still very tasty and definitely recommended.

Delicious food. Not a 0-8-15 Italian. The guest room is cozy but the hallway and stairs need to be prepared

I was just about to pick up a pizza. 3 euros more than on the homepage. The 2025 prices are not yet updated. We have 01/25/25, a topic of 10 minutes to change the prices. I told you straight away at my hotel. ANSWER: Fontana is known for ripping off tourists. Now I'm happy that I saved 15 euros

It was okay. Just ordered something to drink. It probably took 10 minutes for the drinks to arrive. But it was also well attended

A beautiful shop and in a nice location that can offer coffee, food or dessert according to everyone's appetite! The service is fast and with a large dose of courtesy! We had a great time!

Was in the Fontana shortly before closing time and asked for a Coke to go. The waitress said there was only Spezi and Fanta, even though I saw a bottle of Coke in the fridge. As I walked, I heard her offering a coworker a coke. The focus here was clearly on after work, not on customer service. Spezi was in plastic with a best before date of December 31, 2024.

I'm at Fontana every weekend, the salads are very tasty and the employees are all super friendly :)

DANGER! LOOK CAREFULLY when paying by card! I was just given the same amount as a tip for a salad (which is now 18.90) that I picked up, probably in the hope that I wouldn't see it in a hurry! Before that there was the normal amount, then the employee said “Wait a minute”, turned the card reader towards her again and typed something in, and luckily I saw that the amount was twice as high. I grabbed the piece of paper (that she tried to take out of my hand) as proof. Luckily I got the amount refunded in cash because I was attentive and didn't let myself be taken for a ride. Note: The whole thing kept me very busy and I called again to talk to a senior person about it. During the conversation, the employee was very protective and said that everyone makes mistakes sometimes. On the one hand I understand that, but on the other hand I would have paid a lot of money if I hadn't noticed this “mistake”. Of course, it is impossible to say whether it happened intentionally. Unfortunately, I didn't receive a proper apology either. Basically, with such a campaign it would be appropriate to give something “on the house” or to issue a voucher. Instead, I was made to feel guilty on the phone that the employee was “totally exhausted” all evening. It's nice that the management is so committed to its employees, but it's not particularly customer-oriented. Note 2\Reaction to Fontana's answer: My review urges caution after a “mistake” that would have cost me 20 euros if I hadn't noticed it... and as I said, whether it was a mistake or intentional cannot be determined... I'm just describing how it was done. Unfortunately, the way you react to my review only continues how you as a restaurant treat customers who experience something like this at your place. To call me profit-hungry when you sell salads for almost 20 euros... well...

We walked past here at the end of our Würzburg trip and felt like having an ice cream. It was busy and we still managed to get a seat quickly. The ice cream menu was plentiful and we also found ice cream creations that we didn't know yet. This of course arouses curiosity. The staff was busy, but given the amount of customers, it was a bit too thin. You then had to expect short waiting times. Therefore, not a bad word to say about the workforce. The boss from Fontana suddenly showed up. We didn't think that was great because he grabbed a chair and watched what was going on and delegated his employees. Then he should lend a hand himself if there are not enough staff on site.... 09/03/2024

Great pizzeria and ice cream parlor. Delicious pizza and ice cream. Very centrally located. It's a little tight upstairs. And therefore a bit loud.

It was okay so far and clean and tidy. But unfortunately the desired and certain something is missing which makes the whole thing nice and you always like to come back. Other restaurants in other countries have that certain something and I don't know why it's not possible to offer such an ambience in Germany.🤫🤫 🙈👍🙏🧚‍♂️

The tastiest ice cream I've eaten in a long time

My girlfriend and I were hungry and spontaneously decided to eat here. We saw a sign that said we should wait and they would lead us to the table. We did this but after several minutes no one could come to us. When a waiter noticed us after a few minutes, he asked if we wanted to sit down. I answered this with yes and then he just said, relatively pissed off, “Then sit down at a free table.” Well, we did it then. After we sat at the table for about 15 minutes, someone came up to us and asked us what we would like. We said that we were new and didn't have a menu yet and would like to take a look first. Not very motivated, the waiter got us the menu and said “I’ll be right back.” Well, we decided and had to wait another 15 to 20 minutes to be served. When the waiter came back to us we ordered normally and each decided on two large salads. When our table was cleared I asked the waiter for the bill and said that we would be happy to pay by card. The waiter came to us and told us the amount and I confirmed and was ready to pay. Then he asked if everything was OK. We said the food was good. He then cheekily asked if we would like to give a tip. I said no and thought that was it. Then in response he said “then there was something you didn’t like”. I just said “I would like to just pay and leave if that’s ok.” Then he held out the card reader to me and I paid the amount without a tip because I didn't think the service was OK at all. The waiter was rude and unreliable. But to be fair, the salads were delicious and that day was a while ago. I was only served by one waiter and not by several so I can't say whether the service is the same for all waiters. But I definitely won't eat there again if I see the waiter because I don't want to be served by him again

I’m just walk in looking for ice cream yet look at the menu found the food I wanna eat. When settle down. The pretty sweet waitress asked us to move further in coz too close to the entrance and cold. Warm my heart ❤️. She recommend us the wine and it’s perfect matching. Keep it up.🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Ice cream was good. Unfortunately, 2÷ change was incorrectly given out by different people in the 15 minutes that evening. Once that happens, you pay more attention and you're fine. But several times in such a short time?! The boss himself was there and didn't even want to listen at first, the change was "it would be back tomorrow" was the saying.

Nice location to watch the city hustle and bustle in peace! Very good cappuccino, friendly staff who are busy! Be sure to take an ice cream with you, one of the best in Würzburg!!!

Super friendly and polite staff; very tasty food (the starters were also very good). Together with the view of the historic town hall and the babbling fountain, it also creates a great ambience. I can only recommend the Fontana!

Very good ice cream. Especially the premium varieties

The food is delicious, the atmosphere (especially in summer) is great and the ice cream, especially the chocolate ice cream, is probably the best in town. Unfortunately the service is far below the level of the food. You can find a certain blaséness in some Italian places, but this very condescending, arrogant manner and the disregard for a friendly greeting guest, especially at the ice cream counter, is quite extraordinary. The Fontana is certainly a well-run shop that has earned a certain self-confidence through its food, but the way it treats guests should be reconsidered and brought into line with the overall standard.

Unfortunately the staff didn't know what an iced coffee or fredo/frappo was I was offered ice cream scoops with coffee and animal milk. I then described my drink, they didn't know any better... It wasn't tasty. I thought it was an Italian restaurant or at least Italian ice cream and then there should also be a Fredo. Here are a few photos for the barista. I ate the Insalata Verdure yesterday and got food poisoning! Some of my friends confirmed that they have often felt nauseous after eating salad. I won't be ordering anything else here apart from the ice cream.

Small Italian restaurant right on the Wöhrl. There is ice cream here - very good and Italian food - most of it tastes good. Staff mostly attentive.

We spontaneously dropped by on the holiday evening without a reservation. Yes, there is just a sign saying: please wait. We place you. When you wait there you feel a bit lost, but that's not really a bad thing. The waiter then waves you over to a free seat, so of course you have to make sure that you don't get passed over if you've been waiting longer than others. But when you have a seat, the waiter is typically Franconian or perhaps Italian, not very taciturn and direct, but we found that rather pleasant. We felt well served and the food was so tasty that at first impression you might think it was a tourist trap :D. All of this at really reasonable prices, especially for the location and Würzburg, if you look at the map of the other competing companies. So what more could you want? Good food at good prices in a nice atmosphere in front of the old Würzburg town hall.

Yesterday was amazing. The outside area was completely full. We then saw that a couple at a table was finished and we asked if the table would be free. This was confirmed and while the lady went to the toilet again, we asked her companion to sit down at the table. Then a waiter came and said we had to go to the front of a list. We didn't even realize that there was something to line up and wait for and so we were turned away from the table and 2 other guests got the table. I've never experienced anything like this before, especially since the guy wasn't really friendly either. Actually, you should avoid such a juice shop. My regular Pizzeria Aquilia on Mainaustraße is something completely different and you can also make reservations for outside. So I won't go there anymore for now. That was really annoying.

Delicious, reasonable prices and friendly service staff, the only criticism was the slow processing of orders, but you just have to plan for that.

The food itself was good. We had an iced coffee each and some water. But we had to wait a very long time to 1. order, then get the food, and then to pay. Also, the waiter was very unfriendly. We had to ask multiple times to order, and other tables that came after us got their food way earlier. So, food was good - service needs improvement!

I can't say anything about the food because it didn't get that far. It was busy, but after half an hour we hadn't even ordered the drinks. It's just a huge mass production.

We were eating and sat upstairs. Very nicely decorated and very friendly staff. Pizza and pasta were very tasty. Price performance is reasonable. The Fontana is located directly on the old Main bridge. From the bridge you have a great view of the Marienberg Fortress. In front of the Fontana is the four-tube fountain from the 18th century.

I often go to Fontana! Salad is excellent, and the pizza is, in my opinion, the best in Würzburg! The lady in service is always very friendly and has everything under control even when we are stressed! A visit to Fontana is always worth it! But please not all at once! I also want a cookie!😃

For being in Wurzburg the food is quite good, the pasta is a little overcooked but the seasonings are appropriate. I am. Came back after three months and can confirm. I would add that the boys are polite and kind.

Fontana is my favorite ice cream shop in the city. It has very delicious ice cream. The atmosphere unfortunately is not the best, the tables outside plus the people crowded together to buy an ice cream are a bad combo. The service unfortunately , is not good. they take a long time to serve you, they are not friendly, and they always complain about people waiting to buy ice cream. Some are quite rude... Which is sad, because, it's such a good place to have a drink or eat something. The food is plentiful and good. My recommendation is to go and be patient. And enjoy the ice cream ❤️

Yesterday I and my family were there and an employee was very bad with us, she drove us away because I was wearing a headscarf. She says unfortunately I can't move and they are too much, really she was disrespectful. I'll never come there. I'll be minus 10 or more if that's possible.

We came here for ice cream. We had already tried two other ice cream parlors nearby during the day and were hoping for better ice cream at Fontana. And I got the best cookie sundae ever! Instead of mixed ice cream = mixed ice cream balls, I asked for hazelnut ice cream balls in a cookie cup. That was absolutely no problem and I received a super delicious sundae. With hazelnut ice cream, solid cream, chocolate and caramel sauce and cookies with waffles on top. Mmmmm…

As a Würzburger, I can only warmly recommend Fontana. Value for money is simply great. The food not only looks delicious, but it also tastes very tasty and fresh. The staff always remains friendly even in stressful situations. Keep it up. I always enjoy coming to you!

Very, very tasty food, were proppensat. I have said to my husband several times that the price for this really huge normal pizza is far too little, given its size. The taste is simply great. It's a shame that the construction site next to it spoils the ambience a bit, but hopefully that will be gone on our next visit. All in all, great, staff very friendly, food just great, what more could you want 💗

I went to Fontana for coffee yesterday. The service is super nice and forthcoming. The coffee is strong and aromatic as it should be. According to my friend, the ice cream was the best she had eaten in a long time.

I can recommend the Fontana with a clear conscience!!!! The variety of dishes on offer cannot be topped! Simply always delicious...

Addendum to your absolutely dishonest answer: The olives that were arranged on the antipasti plate (approx. 5-6) were missing from the to-go packaging - end of story! It was simply NOT packed!!! The 2 olives that were eaten - the pits ended up in the packaging. WE saw them with our own eyes! Also end of story! Salt and pepper couldn't be found at the tables next to us either - WHY WE ASKED FOR IT!!! It's very unfortunate how resistant you are to criticism. YOU are the reason we should keep collecting more photo evidence. Shame on you for the outright lie answer - I can't see it, but from the sounds of you, you don't even blush when you lie 😒 And if you read your responses to other reviews, then we are not the only dissatisfied guests - with pretty much the same or similar issues. They also serve locals and not just tourists, who don't care if they come back at some point. I don't want to eat here anymore!! Your stomach shouldn't be sensitive here!! We ordered antipasti caprese and calzone. The question about balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper was answered, but it never arrived at our table. The broth ran out of my calzone when I cut it, causing the dough to become mushy. My companion's Caprese salad remained unseasoned and so we had the rest packed up. When we got home, we noticed that you had taken the remaining olives from the plate, which you then put on another guest's plate at some point. But you threw the 2 pits from the olives you had already eaten into the to-go packaging. Well then - that wasn't very appetizing. You did a better job of it. It's a shame, but we won't come back.

Super delicious food 😋 and nice service

The service was good despite the crowds! Unfortunately we were disappointed with some of the ice cream flavors: Mango was good. Stracciatella was disappointing in taste, chocolate and milk were difficult to distinguish. Amalfi lime was good in terms of its slightly watery consistency, but the taste had nothing to do with natural lemon. Blood orange was also suitable in terms of consistency, but it didn't taste like orange at all, but like orange effervescent tablets, completely wrong. It's a shame, but there's room for improvement.

Despite having a reservation, we waited an hour for our ice cream. The order was taken twice and the third time we asked, no one still knew what we had ordered. When we left, the blonde supervisor also became unfriendly to top it all off. Absolutely unprofessional!
