Lotus Lounge in München

I love the Lotus Lounge! In a cozy atmosphere, you can get everything from small snacks to whole, delicious curry fish or crazy king prawns. And what's more—and this is unfortunately very rare—everything is top quality and MSG-FREE. The owner also has really good wine, even by the glass, at absolutely fair prices. And the Mai Thai...a poem! There's nothing to complain about—at least for exiled Cologne residents. Oh, and the super friendly service is a bonus!

I visited the Lotus Lounge for the first time in many years and was quite disappointed. The food was good, but not as authentic as it used to be, and I find €20 for a vegetarian dish with far too little tofu too expensive. Wine prices have also risen dramatically. Furthermore, in what was otherwise a very pleasant atmosphere, the noise level was so high that you had to shout at each other. It's a real shame. I really liked the restaurant.

The food is truly like Thailand. They even serve som tam! The beer is very good, and the wine list is extensive.

I was charged a higher price for pickup. When I pointed this out and showed them their own lunch menu, the employee just shrugged. Be careful, check your receipt!

Small Thai restaurant in the Glockenbachviertel. Very dark inside, not very fresh paint anymore... nice menu, one-man-show service, but still fast and friendly. The food was good, but nothing to remember. Munich prices. But overall everything is okay.

The Thai dishes are incredibly delicious, with generous portions and great value for money. You can add lemon and chili sauce if you like, which makes the flavor even more intense. The restaurant is small, but very cozy and quiet, and the chef is extremely friendly and welcoming. A great selection right in the city center. Definitely recommended!

Small, crowded, loud but very very tasty

Best Pad Thai in town - I've been a regular customer for years. Absolute top place for lunch. The homemade Pöpia are also highly recommended. 🍲🫔

The food was really very tasty and of very good quality. This restaurant is an absolute highlight with its Thai food. There is something for everyone and the selection is really large. I would love to come here again with friends. I would recommend a reservation to everyone. It was a very nice lunch.

It's a small Thai restaurant where I went with two friends. The food is very good, very tasty and you immediately feel at home. The portions are good and the food tastes very good. There is a variety of Thai dishes to choose from. I can definitely recommend trying this restaurant and would be happy to come back.

Full evening and good atmosphere because of the street festival. When asked: What about the food that we've been waiting for for 45 minutes: the owner says: "Back off!" And that's what we did. Go somewhere else, there are other nice restaurant!

Extremely slow service. Rude staff. Mediocre food. Waited 40 minutes for the main course. Enquiring on the food was returned with a yell of “we’re not McDonalds”

We first ordered appetizers and cocktails, papaya salad - it was very neutered, i.e. papaya wasn't mashed, chilli, lime, beans and coriander were missing. And mixed starter for 2 which was quite OK. The main courses: Pad thai gung Curry yellow and red, and squid. The curries were too sweet, pad thai was OK. Squid dish was good. We waited longer than 30 minutes for the cocktails. This cuisine has nothing to do with authentic Thai cuisine

Friendly service and authentic Thai food

Food is nothing special. Took 1.5 hours to get our food while they kept sending out food for takeaways.

Always a great address for Thai cuisine in Munich's Glockenbachviertel. The menu is varied, the food is really fresh and good (but easy to enjoy even for sensitive European palates), and the team is courteous and friendly. The dining room is not very large, so it can get really crowded and therefore a little louder, especially in the evenings and on weekends. Reservations strongly recommended! Tip: Som Tam Papaya Salad, Lab Gai and Gai Kaprao are very delicately seasoned. Both dishes are fun, but the curries are also full of flavor and each delicious in its own way.

Excellent service and delicious food, in a particular atmosphere. Absolutely one of my favourite Thai restaurants in the city.

Tiny portion of curry for 21 €, no rice included. I almost feel insulted. Would not recommend.

Excellent Thai cuisine; Unfortunately, the curry with crocodile meat is no longer available. Not cheap, but worth a visit.

We went to the Lotus Lounge for dinner. We ordered different types of Thai curry and all of them were extremely salty so it was quite unpleasant to eat them. Unfortunately the service was very ordinary. We won't go there again.

Hervorragendes Essen zu angemessenen Preisen mit einem freundlichen Service - was will man mehr? Vielleicht 1-2 Tische weniger in dem kleinen, gemütlichen Restaurant, um etwas mehr Platz zu haben und kürzere Wartezeit bis das Essen serviert wird.

Schön eingerichtet und freundliches Personal. Leider viel zu teuer dafür, dass es nichts besonderes ist und man vergleichbares günstiger bekommt. Es war trotzdem sehr lecker.

Im Rahmen einer Feier konnten wir diverse Speisen probieren und geben daher, auch wegen der Authentizität derselbe, 5 Sterne. Da passte alles. Zudem noch ein tolles Ambiente und zuvorkommendes und flottes Personal. Perfekt!

Mmmm, what a delightful lunch! We've returned three days in a row only to enjoy traditional thai flavours. My colleagues love it hot, very hot and spicy: their needs were served, too!🥵 5 stars!

Kurzfassung: Vorspeise top. Hauptspeise und eine von 2 Bedienungen mittelmäßig bei dieser Preisklasse erwarte ich besseres. Ausführliche Rezension: Recht zentral gelgenes thailändisches Restaurant im „Glockenbachviertel“. Der Geräuschpegel ist teils grenzwertig laut was sicherlich auch der Größe (ca. 15 Tische auf geschätzte 20-25qm) geschuldet ist. Ansonsten ist das Ambiente dezent in dunkleren Tönen gehalten. Vorspeise: Lotus Mix Alles war frisch zubereitet und wurde appetitlich serviert. Ein Teil der Vorspeisenplatte wie die köstlichen Frühlingsrollen und Hähnchenschenkel kamen heiss und knusprig am Tisch an. Ein Highlight war ebenfalls die Erdnusssauce als Beilage. Hier verdiente 5 Sterne. Hauptgericht: Panaeng Nua Das Rindfleisch war zäh, die Portion m. M. n. zu klein für 20,50€. Die Sosse und das Gemüse waren geschmacklich i. O. aber jetzt auch kein gustatorischer Höhepunkt. Mit viel gutem Willen 3 Sterne. Service: Genau wie die beiden Gerichte waren auch die Kellner. Für mich ist exzellenter Service wichtig, deshalb auch hier nur gut gewillte 3 Sterne. Insgesamt vergebe ich 3 Sterne. Habe für den Preis schon besser gespeist und bin zuvorkommender bedient worden. Schade.

Kleine aber feine Karte, von der Vorspeise bis zum Nachtisch war alles lecker. Cocktail war auch sehr gut. Personal sehr nett. Da das Restaurant klein ist Reservieren angebracht.

Das Essen reißt's raus! Als imaginierter Unternehmensberater würde man beim Service wohl mehr 'Kundenfokussierung' anmahnen. Vielleicht ja auch nur Corona-Nachwehen... Update Dezember 22: Hat seine Vor-Corona-Form wiedergefunden. Service ist wieder auf dem selben hohen Niveau wie das Essen.

Für Mittags schnell voll in Ordnung. Ein paar Suppen wären noch super, damit es mittags nicht ganz so schwer wird.

Sehr gutes Essen und gute Bedienung

Das Essen war ok. Man hatte aber das Eindruck, Am besten, schnell essen trinken zahlen und gehen,dass wieder ein Platz frei wird. Hinter uns wollten sich paar Leute nur was zum trinken bestellen, Der Kellner meinte des geht nicht ohne was zum essen da bleiben.komme hier nie wieder.
