The dishes are delicious, but there are nuances. For example, in the salad there was half a rotten cherry tomato. We had to wait a long time for the order, and they brought one dessert instead of two.

Lovely place for a cozy dinner or lunch. Pastas were fresh, hot & just perfect. The portion size was good and the flavours nicely balanced. Would definitely visit again!

Our visit to L'Osteria Karlsruhe was, unfortunately, very disappointing. The start was anything but pleasant – we had to wait forever for our order to even be taken. After what felt like an eternity, it turned out that our order had simply been forgotten. When we asked about it, the waiters were annoyed and unfriendly, offering no apology or consideration. Overall, the service was very disorganized and not very customer-oriented. It's a shame, because the ambiance actually had potential. So, unfortunately, our only conclusion is: Once and never again 👎

We would have loved to have dinner here... but after having to move twice—whoops, there are areas where you're simply ignored, and when we asked, we were told that no one serves you there at all—we were actively ignored even further... but when we asked, we were allowed to order. Unfortunately, our order was then "forgotten," and the cheeky waitress grinned when her colleague noticed that we didn't have any drinks yet. I was particularly pleasantly surprised by the friendly service: attentive, fast, and always cheerful. If you love Italian food and value quality and atmosphere, this is the place for you. Today, after a long absence, I was back at Losteria! Unbelievable how rude the waitresses are! Their rude responses, the children's menu is only shown upon request and then slammed down on the table! We haven't had any Parmesan for our pasta yet. Of course, I didn't tip. They should think about changing staff! Even the other waitress, whom we politely tried to apologize for, waved us off aggressively and slammed open the kitchen door.

We went there about four weeks ago based on a recommendation from a friend who really liked the pizzas there. Unfortunately, we didn't get to try the food because we had to wait over an hour and a half for our food, and everyone else got theirs except us... we were literally half-starving at the table! We first made ourselves known after about three-quarters of an hour, but even that didn't help! After a whopping one and a half hours, we finally said we were going to stop and leave! At least we only had to pay for the drinks, but I'm not willing to wait any longer for the food!!! And especially not when all the other guests around us had already eaten and paid, and new people were already sitting there! But we did receive a voucher as an apology, and the server was very nice, which is why I'm giving it two stars. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it to anyone, as we've had such a terrible experience, and even when we asked where the food was, we were still left waiting and no food arrived. The food will probably be good, but unfortunately, we didn't get to try it.

I was at LÓsteria on Friday, June 13, 2025, around 12:30 PM to order a takeaway pizza. None of the service staff were there. The "shift manager" came out of the kitchen at some point and was very unfriendly. A tall, very slim woman with dark skin. She was very condescending and arrogant towards me. When I picked up the pizza, the box was handed to me in a very unfriendly manner, and then the receipt with 5 cents in change was shoved into my hand with a cheeky grin on her face. Is that how you treat guests? The only positive thing about the visit was that the pizza chefs were in a good mood and the pizza was delicious. The service was abysmal.

We had dinner on Sunday evening at short notice and were allowed to choose our own table since the restaurant was almost empty after 6 p.m. The waiter seemed very annoyed and not particularly friendly. After three waiters came over to us and tried to bring us the wrong food, we finally got our starter. We had just eaten bruschetta when the main course arrived. With card machines, it's now common practice to give tips as a percentage, but here it starts at 10%, then 15%, and then 20%. Even though you can enter the tip yourself, I find it disgraceful that 10% is the lowest setting on the machine, even though 10% is the standard tip. The food was as always, but the service has disappointed me a few times now. From now on, I'll only go to the eastern part of the city, where I've had better experiences.

We were there yesterday, June 14, 2025. Pros: I'd say the price, but that would be a lie. Cons: The lasagna tasted like it was frozen and was cold, too. Pasta was overcooked. Pizza was way too oily. The waitress looked annoyed. When we asked for the bill, the waitress told us 64 euros. When she finally came with the bill, it was suddenly 79 euros. The waitress wanted a 15 euro tip for the poor service. We'll never go to a place like that again.

Eating there is great. But for God's sake, don't order pizza there. I just picked up mine and it's ice cold. If you ask when a pizza will be picked up, and you arrive right on time and get a pizza that's ice cold, that's an absolute disgrace for the price of €17. There are plenty of pizza delivery services. It's best to eat the pizza there, so you can be sure you won't get an ice-cold rag. There's clearly a lack of time management.

The food was delicious, as always, and everything was perfect. Unfortunately, the waitresses seemed very unmotivated, despite the tables being lightly occupied.

I usually think L'Osteria is very good, but we were unfortunately disappointed here. We came with a 2 for 1 voucher, but it wasn't honored even though we had paid for it. It only took a 30-minute discussion to accept it, even though the restaurant participates in this promotion. Initially, the waitress avoided us several times because she didn't want to deal with it. Guests who arrived after us got their food before us. The pizza wasn't as good as previous times either. We won't be back for a while.

The food tastes very good, and there aren't long waits. Our waiter, Eric, was able to recommend many things and explain things in detail; he knows what he's serving. This gives us a very good feeling about our visit.

The pasta I ordered was cold and the tomatoes were inedible. My request for extra garlic was ignored. Despite repeatedly asking the waiter, my request for another drink was ignored.

Generally, decent food and quick preparation! The atmosphere is more like a train station concourse in terms of noise levels – with some nice touches. What's not acceptable, however, is the service – our server was more interested in smoking than in attending to the guests. Our request to pay after a while was met with a bored "Yeah, yeah." We were only "allowed" to pay after directly requesting it at the counter. We don't consider this adequate service.

Due to the endless wait (almost an hour), I can't give it a better rating. First of all, I had to wait almost 10 minutes at the entrance before I was even greeted and checked in, despite having a reservation. The worst part for me, however, was that I had to wait about an hour for my food; I felt like I was completely forgotten. All the other tables got their food, but my table remained empty. What also bothers me is that no one seemed to notice. To be fair, I did get a voucher for dessert. However, when I didn't leave a tip, the waitress just left, rather conceited and without saying anything. Unfortunately, for me, it was a total disappointment. The food is good, nothing special, but it's worth the price. I probably won't go here again.

Yesterday, I was at a restaurant with my wife around 5 p.m. Unfortunately, the service hasn't improved even after years. I asked for oregano, and the waitress didn't respond. I used to really enjoy going to L'Osteria because you could get really large pizzas for very little money. Now I see things differently. The pizza is still huge, but also considerably more expensive than elsewhere. And the taste is okay, but nothing earth-shattering. I also don't find the place particularly cozy. Too much hustle and bustle, and the music is too loud for comfortable conversation. I'd rather go to a small, local restaurant.

The food was rock-solid, typical of L'Osteria. Not outstanding, but good, as you'd expect. The prices are absolutely reasonable. We were there on a Monday evening. It was very quiet, and the place was clearly overstaffed. Nevertheless, we had to wait almost 10 minutes to be approached for the first time after being seated. Furthermore, the music was so loud at times that normal conversation was barely possible, and I repeat, it was very quiet. The food came pretty quickly, but only the pizza; everything else took another 5 minutes. After we'd finished our food, we had to sit for another 40 minutes with empty plates and glasses until, after repeated requests, someone took pity on us and brought the bill. They already had a lot of staff for virtually no tables, and they still couldn't manage to serve them all. It's kind of sad. I'd rather go to L'Osteria at the Tullastraße stop; at least there are employees there who actually do their job.

Today, for the first time, I was able to persuade my parents to try a different restaurant. So, we headed to L'Osteria. I'm already familiar with this restaurant, and the food is always delicious. Today, my parents and I brought our dog, which is why we preferred to sit outside. We arrived around 7:30 p.m. and, unfortunately, brought the rain with us. To avoid getting wet, I immediately approached a waiter, who dismissed me and said someone would come right over. After waiting a bit longer, I walked inside and met the friendly waitress Mia, who was able to help me with seating on the spot. After we finally found a covered spot outside and waited for a waiter, we grew impatient, and this time my mother walked inside, where she said they hadn't seen us. After a moment, a waiter came and directed us to another seat—due to the storm, he said. The situation was slowly becoming tense, and I was actually getting impatient. As we were about to change seats, the waitress Mia approached us again and said we could sit wherever we wanted and that she would take care of us from now on. I was actually very skeptical, but she won us over—my parents and I—with her courteous, friendly, kind, and competent manner. She not only took excellent care of us, but also of our dog. I'm glad, despite some initial difficulties, that I met the lovely waitress Mia here. She really made our evening a pleasant one. It was a successful first visit to L'Osteria on Zähringerstraße, thanks to the lovely Mia. Thank you so much for this pleasant encounter with her. I hope she reads this review, too! ❤️

Disappointment after two pleasant visits – questionable treatment of regular customers After two truly pleasant visits to L'Osteria Karlsruhe, during which we enjoyed excellent pizza and friendly service, we were even more disappointed by our third visit. We had – as before – asked for some fresh garlic with our pizza. In the past, this request had been kindly granted, but this time we were rudely informed that such a thing was strictly impossible. A young lady, who introduced herself as a shift manager, spoke to a colleague on the phone in front of us and repeatedly assured us that L'Osteria never offers fresh garlic – with the undertone that we were either imagining it or not telling the truth. The tone was unnecessarily harsh and not customer-oriented. This isn't about garlic – it's about the way we treat customers. Anyone who has been treated kindly once doesn't expect to be confronted with skepticism and rejection the next time.

The food was – as always – truly delicious. The pizza was huge, freshly topped, and absolutely delicious. The pasta was also excellently prepared.

It's OK, above the German area. There are a lot of people at mealtime, and the service is average, but it's okay. Tipping is required when paying by card.

This afternoon, I was at Osteria Karlsruhe-Zähringerstrasse. My Maccheroncini Colorati (according to the menu: Sugo di Pomodoro, grilled vegetables, onions, cherry tomatoes, basil) for €12.95 tasted okay. Unfortunately, the "grilled vegetables" in the tomato sauce were only two small pieces of eggplant, the size of a 1-euro coin. The cherry tomatoes also only came in pairs. The description of the pasta suggests significantly more vegetables.

Admittedly, the food was really excellent, an absolute highlight in terms of taste. Unfortunately, this positive impression was severely tarnished by a series of disappointing experiences. Right from the start we realized that the cheese we had been promised wasn't served to us. It was only when we asked again that this was submitted, with noticeable reluctance. Such an omission does not exactly show attentiveness or hospitality. The next mishap occurred when paying: we weren't given enough change. When we politely asked the waitress about it, she not only responded in a lack of insight, but also in a tone that was anything but customer-friendly. At that moment we felt neither welcome nor taken seriously. The unpleasant impression finally continued when I visited the women's toilet. One of the cabin doors was simply transparent, a serious lack of privacy. The other cabin, however, was pitch black as there was no light, making it almost impossible to use. As much as we were impressed by the food, we were also disappointed by the poor service. It's a shame about the potential that was wasted here due to poor support.

The pizza was really great and really big for the basic price. However, we were offered burrata as a topping as if it were free, but were charged an additional 2x €5 = €10 per pizza without informing us. Charging two portions of topping at €5 each is simply cheeky.

Good food, but despite Pizza Rustica there was very little topping for me, unlike my friends. You can expect longer waiting times. Online reservations are a problem. No confirmation came. I called and said I should wait until Monday next week. Nothing came, I called again and confirmed that it was booked. Arrived with 10 of my work colleagues and said there was no booking available. Luckily it wasn't that full and we got the seats spontaneously. And the thing is the same thing a colleague had a few months ago.

Another lovely visit to L’Osteria. As always, the team was very friendly and attentive, you felt like you were in good hands. The food was delicious and fresh - it's nice that the quality remains consistently so good. I'm always happy to come by.

On Friday evening I was at L’Osteria. The restaurant was quite busy, which speaks to its popularity. We received a friendly welcome and the staff were always nice and attentive - high praise for that. However, the waiting time for our food was unfortunately far too long at 50 minutes for two pizzas. In addition, one of the pizzas arrived cold, which spoiled the overall impression. I would have expected more from a well-known restaurant with a good reputation - especially in terms of the organization in the kitchen.

You have to wait forever to pay. If you don't tip for a job well done, you'll get a stupid comment from the waiter as to why you don't tip at least 15 cents. You then get the change thrown onto your plate. Food was good so far. Service is awesome!

Went to L'Osteria recently and ordered the Salsiccia Piccante pizza. Unfortunately, we had to wait quite a long time for our pizza - which was a bit disappointing for a dish that was supposed to be quick. When I asked politely if the pizza could be cut, the employee did, but it looked more like a round of Fruit Ninja than a clean cut. The pizza itself tasted really good – nice and spicy, with a pleasant spiciness. However, the filling was quite sparse, and we would have expected a little more, especially with a pizza with salsiccia. The fresh basil, which is actually included on the menu, was also completely missing. Conclusion: Good pizza, but with room for improvement – ​​both in terms of service and attention to detail.

Not recommended at all. You have to wait a long time until you can order, until the food comes and also to pay. The restaurant was not at full capacity. The pizzas were only half full. Half of the service staff preferred to chat regularly with each other while the other half rushed from one table to the other. The food was moved from table to table several times until the table for which the food was intended was eventually identified. At some point when the drinks were served, people called out loudly and asked who ordered them (table numbering would be recommended here). Overall, a very disappointing evening, although the pizza tasted ok.
