Amazing atmosphere, perfect in every way. The pasta is absolutely the best I've ever had, and the pizza is huge and packed with flavor!

Nice restaurant, very noisy. The food is good, the staff is always attentive. The tables are very close together.

I was at L'Osteria in Jena today and had a fantastic evening! The food was, as always, fresh, delicious, and served in the signature XXL portions – highly recommended. I'd especially like to commend our waiter: incredibly personable, attentive, and always in a good mood. You can immediately tell he enjoys his job. Tall, handsome, and with a smile that made the whole evening even more enjoyable. You feel truly welcome as a guest – thank you for the great service! I'll definitely be back.

I've been here many times and can only recommend it to everyone. The staff are always super sweet and friendly, the food is delicious, and the ambiance is simply perfect for a date. I can only give Losteris 5 stars!

We had a good visit during my time in Jena – we went there three times within a week and were always very satisfied. The service is always friendly, and even though it was busy, we always got a table within a few minutes.

We had to wait a long time for the food (which was very tasty). The portions were very, very small (and no, we didn't order a children's or senior citizen portion). Because of the long wait, the portion was halved. We still had to pay full price. A total rip-off.

We were at the restaurant today (September 8, 2025) at 6:45 PM. It wasn't really busy and there were obviously enough staff, although they were quite overwhelmed. We had to wait 40 minutes to be served. And that was after we had already indicated several times that we wanted to order. When we ordered, we were immediately disappointed... there was no KiBa (cheesecake). Yes, it's not on the menu, but in a restaurant like this, that shouldn't be too much to ask for. The pizzas were okay, but nothing special. Again, nothing you'd expect from a place like L'Osteria. The next problem came with paying... the employee didn't understand that we wanted to pay in cash until the third time. When asked if everything was okay, I replied that the service was very poor (waiting time). I was offered a coffee as an apology, and my companion was only offered a coffee or tiramisu upon request. We won't be visiting this restaurant again and can't recommend it to anyone.

Everything was perfect. The only difference was the music was so loud that it was almost impossible to have a conversation.

A large dining room where flies fly and land on the food. The pizza plates are smaller than the pizza itself, making cutting it very difficult. Uncomfortable tables for two people. Generally noisy and hectic. Far from being a restaurant. I don't recommend it.

The service was outstanding; our waiter, Daniel, took excellent care of us and even brought us blankets. Even when things got hectic, he was very attentive. When we got too cold on the terrace, we quickly found a seat inside. The food was excellent; unfortunately, the pasta could have used more salt, but it was definitely tolerable given the service. Two other waiters, one of whom appeared to be a shift manager, continued to serve us wonderfully when we changed seats. A classic place to be in Jena; everyone should try it. Grazie :)

The atmosphere is a bit loud, but it's absolutely fantastic. Annabell served me wonderfully, with perfection. The portions are generous and the food tastes delicious. The highlight is Annabell.

The food is truly excellent. Nothing to complain about. But the wait times................... Some restaurants are ten times faster. 40 minutes for a pizza, no thanks. And then there's the music. It's way too loud. The staff: okay. Unfortunately, it always takes a while before anyone speaks to you.

Very friendly, attentive, and pleasant service. The food was quite good. But the noise level in the restaurant is unbearable. The background music is inappropriately loud, and the noise level from conversations and kitchen noises is enormous. The dining room echoes incredibly. Added to this is the hectic pace of many employees, especially behind the bar, which unfortunately cannot be hidden. Food is practically brought to the tables at a run. Conclusion: Bring noise-canceling headphones. Not conducive to a relaxing evening.

I went out to eat with my son yesterday, and the staff wasn't as attentive as they should be in a restaurant. The food tasted very good, but unfortunately, it was lukewarm. For a typical Italian pizzeria in Germany, I have to say the pizzas are excellent, thin-crust, and very large. Prices are similar to those abroad, which means they're expensive.

Year after year, the quality gets worse, the wait time is longer, the food gets colder and more expensive. It's no longer my favorite restaurant in Jena...

Very tasty pizzas – and you can watch them being prepared. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Reservations are recommended during peak times. Generally speaking, the place is quite cozy, but the tables for the large pizzas are quite small, and the music is very loud, making conversation difficult.

My partner and I found it very, very nice, even though we're not city people. Despite being in the city, it was relatively quiet, and the food was amazing. We had a table from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM and were worried we wouldn't make it. We had a starter and main course and were finished after an hour. It was once again very, very nice and truly delicious. I highly recommend it!!! :)

We, as foreign guests, were served by a waiter with a long mustache who seemed completely unfriendly and unpleasant (it made ordering very unpleasant for me). He was much friendlier and more polite to the German guests at the next table (he addressed them formally, but had already addressed us informally at the reception). When we pointed out that something was missing from our order, he allegedly "forgot" it, even though he was near us the whole time, and only brought it an hour later, after we had asked another employee about it. I'll never go back; it was already unpleasant enough. As a foreigner, you definitely feel inferior here.

We were just at the restaurant and are absolutely thrilled! I would especially like to mention our waiter, Hasan – he was incredibly friendly, attentive, and served us excellently from start to finish. My special order request was carried out without any problems, which isn't always the case, and Hasan made sure everything was 100% perfect. There are still seats available for dinner during the week, but it's usually already very full, and reservations are recommended. Unfortunately, the noise level is borderline, especially when it's this busy. You're constantly fighting a conversation with 100 other people, which gets quite tiring after a while. The food is from a fast-food standpoint, without any flaws, and was prepared and served quite quickly. It took some getting used to, and this has improved over the years, that you no longer have a different server for every interaction. Leftover food is packaged for takeaway without any problems. Plus point: The pizzas are very large, and you can even have two halves topped differently if there's a party of two of you who don't want to eat too much and take it with you. The price isn't exactly cheap, but it's just about reasonable.

The pizzas taste good and are, of course, huge. Unfortunately, there's a lack of toppings. I've had a pizza twice now where I saw the toppings, but they didn't match the size of the actual pizza. I'd rather have fewer large pizzas with more toppings than gigantic pizzas made of dough, cheese, and tomato sauce. The plates are too small for the large pizzas; I know this is intentional to emphasize their special size. It just annoys me, though, because you can't slice the pizza properly, and some usually drips onto the table. The drinks were reasonable for a restaurant.

Für l‘Osteria sprach lange das tolle Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis. Die Pizzen sind groß, der Teig richtig gut, auch der Service im Leutragraben haben wir sehr positiv erlebt. Jetzt waren wir enttäuscht, wir haben liefern lassen, was sehr schlecht geklappt hat, sowohl Kommunikation, Verspätung wie Liefer-Temperatur (Kurzstrecke). Hinzu kam, dass uns der Käse nicht schmeckt, an Stelle von Mozarella ist da oft Gouda oder so was drauf. Wir glauben uns zu erinnern, dass das früher anders war

We went to the osteria on the day of my son's communion, and we were happy with the food. The only thing is that the pizza was a little raw. The lasagna was good. The waiters are very kind and helpful.

We had reserved a table in advance, but despite having a reservation, we still had to wait 20 minutes for a free spot. The pizza was delicious, but after ordering, we had to wait almost 35 minutes for it – only after a reminder was it served immediately. I didn't feel appreciated at the restaurant. It was a special evening because I wanted to give my girlfriend a little surprise for her birthday. Unfortunately, the restaurant's service ruined it. That's why I honestly don't plan on visiting a L'Osteria restaurant in Germany again.

A pretty good location in itself. Located right in the center of Jena. Drinks were delicious, and special requests were accommodated. But what's really unacceptable is that you order something... wait 30 minutes... nothing comes... You ask... and then another 30 minutes pass before you get something on the table. And that even though the restaurant was only 1/6 full... 🤷🏼‍♂️ Our server was very nice, though.
