The garden is the only good thing here

A very unpleasant experience. We were lured by the supposed happy hour until midnight and ordered a cocktail at 11:45 PM. At no point were we informed that they would be closing in 15 minutes. Five minutes after we were served our drinks, we were already told to leave. While I was picking up my baby's things, the owner waved us away in a very disrespectful manner. During the meal, the behavior was the same as before: We were constantly asked if we were ready, as if we were waiting for our turn. We were unable to enjoy the food or the atmosphere in peace. The treatment by the waiters and owners was rude and completely inappropriate. We will not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant.

A disappointment from start to finish.

A very beautiful garden, the staff is very friendly and super attentive. It was very busy, but the food arrived in a few minutes. The portions were generous, and the price-performance ratio was reasonable. We would be happy to come back.

I ordered ravioli with my partner tonight. As an Italian, I was very surprised... Authentic, delicious, and homemade! Super friendly service and delicious food! The atmosphere was lovely and romantic. Great value for money! Highly recommended ❤️

Unfortunately, I can't review the food. The server seemed so bored and disorganized that we left after waiting 20 minutes. We weren't greeted, nor were we given a menu. The outdoor area was only moderately busy and seemed rather unkempt in places. It's a shame. It used to be a nice spot when the weather was nice.

We wanted to eat there spontaneously because the garden appealed to us. Unfortunately, we had to leave after 20 minutes because the waitress simply didn't come. This was completely incomprehensible to me, as the garden was maybe half full. The waitress seemed completely incompetent and didn't know the basics of restaurant business: - We weren't greeted even though they saw us. - He kept taking our order and then going back inside to get it. Totally inefficient. - We didn't get a menu. Then we could have at least looked at it. - A quick note saying he was just after something and would be right over would have been enough. I don't usually write reviews, but today's review really upset me. I'm not in a hurry when I go out to eat, but when I'm ignored for 20 minutes, I just don't feel welcome!

It was wonderful! Eight of us went out to eat, with eight different dishes and various special requests, and everything was fulfilled in a friendly and courteous manner. The food was delicious, and the outdoor ambiance was lovely. We'd love to come back!

Food 10 out of 10!!!! You can tell the chef cares more about taste than appearance. Service 10 out of 10!!!! = Courteous and competent, and ready to find a solution for any mistake. We discovered this restaurant by chance while enjoying an aperitif and were absolutely thrilled. The atmosphere was fantastic and the staff were very friendly. It will definitely be our first choice on our next visit to Aachen.

Unfortunately, there were only three asparagus spears. I think that's way too few. The hollandaise sauce had a filmy texture (similar to the skin on cooked pudding as it cools). The meat was cooked to perfection. Overall, it was okay. But I can do better. The service was very friendly, and the seating was quite pleasant.

Food was mediocre at best. Service disaster. Waited over 40 minutes for the drinks, which were then incomplete. When the food came, one item was wrong. When the right one came, everyone else was already done. There were no tables occupied inside, at most 75% outside. A telling moment: when the "boss" offers the final ouzo on the house, he brings three for four people. Great.

The garden is the only good thing here. We had to wait a very long time for drinks and food. Our three starters initially only came with a "bread basket" with two tiny pieces of baguette. We had to beg for more bread several times. The waiters seemed listless. 2 of 8 main courses were forgotten and arrived a whopping 35 minutes later. When we complained, all we received was incomprehension. The answer was that we had no experience in gastronomy. A really poor response to our complaint. Not recommended. We won't come back.

Extremely disorganized and poor service. We were there with several people and two people forgot their main course and arrived after 35 minutes. Some people who came after us got their main course before us. For the 3 starters such as hummus, only 1x bread was brought even though it should be included with every starter (according to the menu). I have never experienced anything like this in the last 10 years.

Food tasted good, but carpaccio was a bit boring. The hamburger, on the other hand, was very tasty and the wife also liked the schnitzel. Very friendly staff.

Such a bad service for such a beautiful atmosphere. I was the one suggesting the place to my friends and got extremely disappointed. Don’t suggest this place until they change their behaviour. The food was good. But arrived late and some orders were missing.

We have been here many times, unfortunately the quality of the food has deteriorated a lot. Starter variation for 4 people (a good €44) was not tasty (cigar barek with sweet and sour Asian ready-made sauce) and overall very "manageable". There were exactly 4 counted pieces of baguette. After repeated requests, bread was brought again, this time 3 pieces for 4 people, who later found themselves with €3.50 worth of bread on the bill.

Back again after 10 years! Friendly service, good cocktails and a cozy atmosphere. Nothing changed!

Super nice staff!! We were able to spontaneously have brunch there with 11 people + children. The place we were assigned was in a quiet, light-filled corner. Even though we had to leave early, the staff was still friendly and accommodating. A huge recommendation, especially with children!!!

As a Turk, Aachen is a great place to eat. The owners are also Turkish, they have a great conversation, they are very good people..

We had a burger, the food was tasty. Atmosphere was pleasant. Nice terrace, quiet spot in the city.

Ordered a starter in the late afternoon and main courses at the same time. The starters were brought to the table quickly. Were also delicious. However, why counted bread is only served is always a mystery to me, even in other restaurants. It's a shame for half the hummus. The main courses were forgotten due to shift changes... at least a small portion of fries was offered on the house after a while and served in advance. The waitress was friendly and asked for forgiveness. The main courses came to the table at the same time. Pide and salad perfect. The rump steak was served lying down in a pepper sauce. I haven't seen that anywhere before. This is an absolute no-go. The fourth main course should be a Viennese-style schnitzel. It's not on the menu, but we agreed: "just leave out the sauce". It was still served lying in a mushroom sauce. This was then complained about. The waitress took the plate away with a lot of understanding and kindness and came back a few moments later. New plate, same schnitzel. Lifted briefly: the remains of the sauce are clearly visible. So it was just “wiped off”. That's not quality. That doesn't work at all. There will be no further visit.

After a long time, we had dinner with friends again in Aachen's Pontviertel. Very pleased with the cozy atmosphere and the extremely friendly service. The kitchen also impresses with good quality and tasty food, attractively prepared and served at the same time. We particularly recommend the Izgara Köfte, beef skewers and the lamb fillet (Ali Nazik) on wrap bread! Reasonable price/performance offer.

Burgers are not recommended... unfortunately they were cold and sat like stones in our stomachs.

I remained loyal to the Magellan for 25 years, although I was a little disappointed after my last two visits. Today was, hopefully for me, the last disappointment because I will no longer order food from this beautiful restaurant. The lifelessly served salad tasted terrible, all the ingredients were cold, not seasoned, "thrown" on the plate and served with a long delay. I now know what “being ashamed” means; I was ashamed of the food of the people I recommended Magellan to.

The food was delicious and I would love to do it again

Four of us were there on a Saturday evening, had reserved, the house was full. Nevertheless, we were welcomed immediately and taken to our table. The first drinks and food (starter and main course) came very quickly. Not great in terms of taste, but good. Unfortunately, during one meal the chicken wasn't completely cooked through, which is why we asked to put it back in the pan. It came back after a few minutes, with extra fries, very attentive. Unfortunately there were only a few quartered mushroom pieces in the mushroom cream sauce, which seemed like too few. As we continued, we had to ask twice/triple times because of three orders (more drinks, mayonnaise). I attribute most of the criticism to the fact that it was high time and a full house on Saturday evening. I've been there before and the points mentioned would have gotten more stars/praise.

This place was surprised by the variety of dishes and also the interior. Very cozy and not normally. Here you find yourself in an atypical place for Aachen. Very tasty food, very balanced taste. It's a stylish restaurant, I loved the food

Unfortunately, our visit was not a great experience, but not bad either. I had the schnitzel, which was fine, although nothing special. My friend had a pasta, but unfortunately the sauce was a bit watery in taste, so the dish didn't really come into its own. Overall an average experience: there is room for improvement.

Ate there three times, the schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce had far too little sauce with probably one sliced ​​mushroom. The mozzarella mentioned in the menu was missing from the salami pizza. The waitress miscalculated by 10 euros when adding up 2 drinks (in one sum) and 1 dish (i.e. 2 numbers). The spicy pide was served on a wooden board that showed significant signs of wear; Coating was chipping off from the edge, and in the middle of the board there was a dark spot from wear and tear and the deposit of numerous dishes that had been served on it over the last few years.

Erster Eindruck: nett Doch nachdem wir drinnen in der Nähe der Toiletten platziert wurden, nahmen wir schnell einen sehr unangenehmen Geruch wahr, der später von Seiten der Kellnerin bestätigt wurde. Die gemischte Vorspeisenplatte sah gut aus, war aber zum größten Teil ungenießbar: Das Rindercarpaccio war wässrig (aufgetaut?) und geschmacklos, die Melonenstücke ungenießbar/schlecht… Nach der Vorspeise zogen wir um auf die Terrasse , hatten nun etwas frische Luft um die Nase und hofften auf die Hauptspeise. Doch auch diese Hoffnung wurde leider enttäuscht. Hauptspeise = Pide: sah gut aus, schmeckte aber auch nicht. Der Teig war nicht durch, das (Schweine-)Hackfleisch war von schlechter Qualität,… Fazit: Meiden Sie dieses Lokal.

Very nice service and great food

It was lovely on the terrace and we had a delicious meal. The beef was too tough. I said something about it and the response was lame. My vegetarian dish was great. A glass of graubugunder for 7.25 euros was a lot of money.

Waiters twice forgot about what we ordered and we had to wait for more than 1 hour for our meals. Also they transfered us to another table because didn't notice that the one they put us actually has been reserved. Terrible service

Insanely beautiful. The food is very tasty and comes quickly even on busy days. There is an outdoor and indoor area. Both have an incredibly beautiful atmosphere, the stream outside is a highlight. The waiters and owners are all very friendly and patient. I can only recommend.

Such a beautiful atmosphere there. Simply great! We only discovered it by chance and were amazed at how beautiful the terrace area outside was. Wow! The food was very tasty, just a little bit of meat in the chicken and the “champion sauce”.. well there were only 2 small mushrooms in it 😭 Otherwise we were satisfied. The Ipanema was also really delicious!! Better than anywhere else on Pontstrasse

We just had beers here, nice vibe and setting. The outdoor space is in a garden with water feature. Friendly service and okay choice of drinks.

The only advantage is that the restaurant has a garden. Our waitress was nice to us, unfortunately we also had to deal with other employees and service was totally 0. Pizza cost 12-15€ and tasted like frozen food. Never there again.

Very nice location, very nice decor. The food was really delicious, but one star was deducted because the portion was unfortunately too small for a dish that costs 22 euros.

The ambience is really incredibly beautiful, perfect for balmy summer evenings. Service and drinks were also perfectly fine. The only thing I didn't like was the food, I had tagliatelle, which was unfortunately quite compact, firm and unfortunately came to the table cold. A pity.
