We had a lovely time outside the ALEX. Friendly, courteous service, delicious food and beautiful weather. We'd love to come back.

Slow service. They brought cocoa with milk instead of hot chocolate I asked for. They probably don't know how to make it.

Alex (Life is Beautiful) unfortunately not for us guests. The coffee (cappuccino and the latte macchiato tasted more like water than coffee. The toilets are not accessible for disabled people because you have to go down a narrow staircase. And what's also not good is that the men's and women's toilets are not separated, unbelievable!! Not recommended😏

Tried the Sunday brunch here which has a great selection for the price point per person, the staff is friendly and attentive and the location is good. Great place to enjoy a Sunday morning in the summers with outdoor seating.

The Alex on the market square is at the same time a welcome meeting place for Aachen residents and also a popular place for tourists. Whether a cold Hefeweizen, a long drink, a cappuccino or a soft drink. There is something for everybody. The menu is impressive. There are many delicacies from Mediterranean burgers, shrimps, salmon to schnitzel and vegetarian dishes. The service is super good! - despite the very busy restaurant. No long waits for food and drinks. Wonderful ambience on the market square and the historic town hall.

Unfortunately only one star for the service. I would like to give more, because not every waitress behaves like that. But as soon as you seem to sit outside, you are forgotten. After we got restless after a long wait and I flagged down the waitress (brunette with tattoos), I wanted to place my order. Since the waitress knew better how long we would be sitting, she constantly argued. Ultimately the mood became very heated and the provocative comment was accompanied by a false grin: “But the customer is always right, right?” :) “, the situation became so unpleasant for me that I decided to leave. For me, very inappropriate behavior. As a customer you felt threatened and provoked in their presence. Please stay at home on bad days. A pity.

We went to Alex, and took both currys, it was excellent, not as spicy as you would expect, but tasted really really good. What made the experience better was the staff, everyone was very nice, always laughed and were very sweet. Also the music wasn‘t too loud which made it nice to talk, but you could still hear it very well.

Food is not great.. drinks also average, very limited beer options only highlight is that you can seat in Marktplatz..

I'm very disappointed and wouldn't go there again, the service was totally overwhelmed and unprofessional. First the order was taken incorrectly, then we received half of the order and the other half 1 hour later, we didn't order anything elaborate, just coffee and cake and drinks, really nothing that you have to prepare, and if you order coffee and cake Then you expect it to come together, my girlfriend was brought coffee and cake only 30 minutes later, completely unprofessional, the waitress walks with the tray between the tables and doesn't know who ordered what. And at the end they gave us the wrong bill and wanted to charge us twice as much, luckily we noticed the mistake. We've never felt so ripped off.

Went this morning for the breakfast buffet. Pretty busy inside, but it might be normal for a Friday at 10am. Food was not bad, particularly for what the price is supposed to be. They had different types of eggs which was a plus, some cold cuts and cheese, a couple salads, veggies, and sauces. Nothing tasted like it was made in house, but it wasn't terrible either. What was extremely disappointing, hoiwever, was how I was overcharged by at least 5€ and it seems like it was the waitress giving herself a tip. She never offered a receipt before or after payment, just told me the price and asked me to pay cash because the debit machine was not working (but I had seen her at the door getting paid by card half an hour earlier). Again, it could simply be human error as the restaurant felt like they could use additional waiting staff, but even then the restaurant should have a better system in place. I ended up paying 25€ for brunch and a small coffee and only realised I had been overcharged when I had left town. Thankfully there's another brunch across the plaza; they might be better at math.

We were in the cafe about a week ago. Incredibly fast service, very pleasant and polite waiter. For food we ordered RUMPSTEAK & BAKED POTATO. The steak is sooo delicious. But the potatoes seemed to me not baked, but boiled. My stomach can taste the difference. Baked or grilled potatoes are sweeter, while boiled ones have a little sourness. As for the BERRY SMASH alkoholfrei drinks, I really liked it. It’s not the first time I’ve been there and I recommend it to everyone

Nice restaurant right on the market. When the weather is nice, it's really a great location. Many different (cold) drinks. The beer selection is clear, but completely sufficient. Solid, very attentive staff. The food is very tasty, but the portions of the salads are really too small. After the 16€ salad with (5 mini-mini falafels), which should normally fill me up in any case, we went to eat at the AKL around the corner. So please fix that.

We now regularly eat at ALEX in Aachen and always leave in a good mood and full. The dishes on offer are very, very tasty. The service is extremely friendly and fulfills every wish. Even when we were there very late in the evening last time and thought we wouldn't get anything more, we were served as always in a friendly and quick manner. Thanks!

Downright rude service. We were given something different than what we ordered, the waitress claimed not, so there you are... €20 for two cocktails that you did not order.

We were there for breakfast. And we were very satisfied. Everything very tasty and fresh. The service is great and very attentive. And even children under 5 get a glass of juice. 🥰 Small gestures that bring joy... 👍 We'll be happy to come back. ❤️

The service was attentive and quick. The food, in my case a burger, was still okay. For the price I would have expected a frozen patty, but the rest (burger bun, salad) was okay overall.

So we wade there with 2 children for lunch. Unfortunately, the service was a disaster and the food was overpriced and more like a chip shop. The waitress lost half of the mini portion of fries and didn't even try to fix it. The schnitzel was a small “shaped schnitzel” from the cheap discount store. Here you don't seem to make much effort for a lot of money. It's a shame, I know Alex from better times and can't recommend it so strongly.

Wanted something to drink and eat. But unfortunately we had difficulties when ordering the cappuccino. Either we weren't allowed to place an order and the waiter who was allowed to take the order wasn't interested in us. Chatting with colleagues was more interesting. A young colleague then passed our order on to him. We drank the cupuccino, paid, left and ate somewhere else. End of story.

High prices for poor quality food. Service friendly but lost a quarter of the fries on her tray. So the portion was even smaller. I used to enjoy eating there, but unfortunately not anymore. You can get much better quality elsewhere. Too bad

It was our first time in an Alex and we really enjoyed it. Despite the fact that there was a lot going on, everything went very quickly and friendly. The food was also great. Only the tables were a bit too small and access to the toilets was a bit difficult.

The fact that Alex is a system restaurant is not a bad thing per se. We always ate consistently good, healthy and varied food at the different locations. Not so here in Aachen. On the one hand, this was due to the service in the kitchen. My daughter likes the Caesar wrap, but unfortunately no tomatoes… a simple request so far. Here in Aachen, according to the service, the "head chef" was overwhelmed by this and refused. With my CHICKEN TERIYAKI, the chicken felt like half the usual portion, but above all it had a tendon and was no fun. the actual service was good as always.

The slowest service in Germany. You can wait 30 minutes for your order to be taken. You sit without coffee and stare at the indifferent waiters. If you're lucky, you can eat in two hours.

Very stylish, colorful, green, clean cafe/restaurant. With a varied menu, I mean, the desserts alone :) where do you have so much choice of desserts. I like eating the Bolws :) but for a gourmet day the Currywurst is also worth recommending. The bartender knows his craft and makes good cocktails but also delicious warm drinks! Cappuccino especially from the bar manager ^^ Must try, matcha latte or turmeric latte with oat milk :) You can't find it anywhere else :) The only deduction is the toilets. They don't quite meet my hygiene standards and are a contrast to the otherwise clean guest room :)

Always enjoy coming here for breakfast. This is very tasty and also rich. The staff is always friendly. The only thing is that the price is higher here than in surrounding places, which is why we eat breakfast more often at the competition.

We chose it because there was a campaign on weekday cocktails, the cocktails were very successful, you understand the long island ice tea once you drink one. It has more of a restaurant vibe than a bar. A bright environment. It is preferred for cocktails, but I did not have the opportunity to try the food.

I'm not a notorious negative review writer. However, my visit yesterday prompted me to share my experience. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the service is also good. However, the food is a disgrace. I had the Teryiakebowl for 18.90 euros. The portion size was very clear, impossible for a normal eater to get full of, but cleverly fluffed up visually. The amount of salmon and avocado was homeopathic, everything was drowned in sauce, the rice was disgusting. I had a total of two pomegranate seeds. The toilets were disgustingly dirty and smelled. Not like that, we definitely won't be dining in an Alex again. The optics alone are simply not enough.

I already have a bit of an ALEX collection. Every city I travel to where there is an ALEX is sought out. For good reasons. This branch also impresses with friendly service and good, fresh food in large enough portions that are filling but not overly full. ALEX remains a good place to stop off, even in Aachen

Unfortunately the service is subpar. Were there at 12:50 p.m. and wanted to order something to eat. Food will probably only be available from 1 p.m. The lady was completely annoyed and unfriendly. You can also say in a nicer way that you will take the order later. We had lost our appetite. Guests sat down at the neighboring table and then were so annoyed that they just sat down. You can also convey that the table has already been assigned to someone else and that you should immediately assign another table. The guests didn't like the tone and then left...

We were guests on Saturday evening. The staff is very friendly and quick. The selection of dishes and drinks is really large We didn't have to wait long for food and drinks. In order to order more cocktails or drinks, we always had to ask a waiter if we could have anything else. The coffee is undrinkable, even after returning it it still wasn't any better. The food is delicious, we were all full, but the portions are a bit small considering the prices. The toilet was quite dirty and smelled very bad. I'm not sure if I would go again.

The service is terrible... The waiters just ignored us. The bartender made us a very sour cocktail. When we asked why it was so sour, the bartender said that he just didn't pour sugar syrup because he had to go far to the pantry after him. That's why he simply made it without sugar syrup! How can that be?? I don't understand 🤷‍♀️

Essen war nicht meins. Burger in verschiedenen Varianten. Der Rinderpatty war nicht zu essen, einfach zäh und schmeckte nicht. Service war gut, Getränke auch und nette Leute waren auch da. Beim nächsten Mal nur ein Getränk, gegessen wird woanders

Sehr leckeres Frühstücksbuffet mit einer guten Auswahl auch für Vegetarier. Der einzige negative Punkt sind die Toiletten. Sie sehen zwar sauber aus, riechen aber schon vorm Betreten recht unangenehm.

Ich Fante es nicht lecker es war lauwarm und, wir haben 15 Minuten lang gewartet auf das Essen und habe gesehen wie die Küche das Essen gekocht haben und ich gehe nicht mehr dahin weil es zu teuer ist und für mich nicht geschmeckt hat Und der Kelner war nett aber das Essen war nicht so lecker:(

Sehr schöne Atmosphäre und nettes Personal Update Mai 2023: ich bin regelmässig im Alex in Aachen. Bei schönem Wetter kann man draußen sitzen mit herrlichem Ausblick auf Marktplatz und Rathaus. Drinnen sollte man am Wochenende auf jeden Fall reservieren es ist sehr voll, zum frühstücksbuffet sowieso. Der Latte macchiato ist super und hat ein gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Das Personal ist immer mega freundlich 👍😊 Update Januar 2024: Heute haben wir noch mal dort gegessen. Es gab Falafel Bowl und Penne. Beides war sehr lecker. Die Preise sind auch hier wie überall gestiegen. Aber das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist noch im Rahmen

Waren dort auf Neujahr für Kaffee und Kuchen. Kaffee war ok, Kuchen war super. Danach auf Toilette hat mich der Schlag getroffen! Ei n Schweinestall bei uns suchen Demjanjuk ist sauberer und stinkt weniger Ich glaube mehr braucht man nicht zu sagen

Wir waren heute mit der Familie im Alex am Markt in Aachen essen. Wir sind öfter dort und meistens sehr zufrieden. Das Essen war auch heute wieder sehr gut, allerdings war die Bedienung ziemlich schlimm. Es handelt sich um eine (wie wir denken) neue Kellnerin mit starkem Akzent. Das wäre ja kein Problem, wenn sie einen dann wenigstens verstehen würde. Leider war sie aber schonmal sehr überfordert mit der Bestellung, da musste man alles 5 mal wiederholen und in der Karte zeigen. Dann war nach über 30 min die Vorspeise noch immer nicht da und ich habe mal bei einem anderen Kellner nachgefragt. Dieser kam dann mit den Vorspeisen und meinte die Kollegin hätte das falsch verstanden und dachte das soll bei dem Hauptgang kommen. Da stellt man sich schon Fragen. Wenn man sagt man möchte es als Vorspeise und dann nochmal wiederholt „ja es soll bitte davor kommen“ und dann noch einen Hauptgang bestellt… ist doch selbsterklärend oder? Dann wollte mein Vater sein Steak medium, das war leider tot gebraten. Er hat sie gerufen und meinte ganz lieb „entschuldigung aber das ist doch kein Medium, das ist tot“. Da knallt sie sein Bier, welches er vor 15 min bestellt hat, auf den Tisch, ruft genervt ihre Kollegin, diese reagiert nicht und sie geht einfach ohne ein Wort, kommt 3 min. später wieder und nimmt‘s zurück. Generell haben wir sehr lange immer warten müssen, wir saßen 15 min bis wir überhaupt etwas zu trinken bestellen konnten, dann über 30 min bis zur Vorspeise und dann nochmal eine Weile bis zum Hauptgang. Es wäre verständlich wenn mal etwas schief läuft wenn es voll wäre, allerdings war nichtmal die Hälfte der Tische belegt und es ist keine Art dem Kunden gegenüber unfreundlich zu werden weil das Essen nicht ist wie man es gerne hätte.

Der Tee war gut, die Bedienung sehr nett und das Ambiente wunderbar.

Die Bowl war lieblos, die drei Stückchen Hähnchenfleisch waren eher paniertes Fett und die Getränke waren relativ teuer. Die Bedienung war nicht zuvorkommend.

Wir sind in der Weihnachtszeit zufällig im Alex gelandet, und können uns den Positiven Rezensionen nur anschließen, alles war lecker und auch der Cappuccino war sehr gut. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen.

Déco très sympa. Le latte était délicieux. Mais service déplorable (beaucoup d'attente, on vous dirige d'un coup de tête, on vous coupe la parole pour servir quelqu'un d'autres, et les serveurs sont aimables comme des portes de prison) et l'odeur aux toilettes était suspecte.

Wir waren die Woche mit Familie und Kindern dort. Was absolut Ekelhaft gewesen ist, war der Geruch auf der Toilette. Da vergeht einem der Appetit. Leider war auch der Hochstuhl alles andere als Sauber. Das mit dem Geruchsbelästigung in den Toiletten ist Grenzwertig. Ein No Go

Onwijs lekker gegeten. Bediening was gewoon top. Ik had de burger met dubbel bacon, spiegelei, heerlijk. Zelfs de frietjes waren heel lekker. Kortom, een absolute aanrader.

Nur was getrunken.... zum Glück ! Die Toiletten waren furchtbar dreckig. Schon beim betreten unangenehmer, beißender Geruch. Auf allen Toiletten lag das Toilettenpapier auf dem Boden,nichts in den Behältern. Es war noch relativ früh, 17 Uhr. Volle Punktzahl an die nette Bedienung

Belle découverte dans le cadre du marché de Noël de Aix-la-Chapelle. Nous y sommes passés prendre un verre dans l'après-midi et avons décidé d'y retourner souper le soir. Nous n'avons pas été déçus! Accueil et cuisine au top👍.

Super leckeres Schnitzel. Mit dieser hohen Qualität hätte ich ehrlich gesagt nicht gerechnet. Mir hat es sehr gut geschmeckt. Frische Zutaten und eine leckere Sauce. Das Restaurant war zwar brechen voll (Weihnachtsmarkt) aber das Essen wurde schnell gebracht und das Personal war trotz Stress sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Vielen Dank für den schönen Abend. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

It’s a routine place for me and my friends. First of all, the price is good for what you get. The price for breakfast in weekends is higher. Weekends are usually fully booked and need prior reservation. The staff like their job and they usually have ice breaking small talks. They are polite and professional. They speak English well. They are usually quick to prepare the orders. Only once they brought wrong food for a friend, but they kindly replaced it per request. I highly recommend this place.

Richtig schöne Inneneinrichtung! Das Frühstücksbuffet war lecker und frisch. Die Bedienung kam jedoch nicht wieder, um nach weiteren Getränken zu fragen, obwohl wir insgesamt über 2 Stunden dort saßen.

Bin öfters bei ALEX sehr schönes Restaurant mit sehr gutem Essen, die Preise sind etwas höher und man bekommt kleinere Portionen 12,5€ für ein Mini Schnitzel mit Pommes z.B Valentinstag war super schön dort kann ich nur Empfehlen, für 25€ pro Person 3 Gänge Menü mit Qualitativem Essen find ich sehr gut. Getränke vor allem die Limonaten kann ich Empfehlen Nachtisch (Churos) kann ich nicht Empfehlen sehr teuer für eine Mini Portion mit ein bisschen Eis, das geht besser! Große Auswahl an Gerichen auf der Speisekarte, da findet jeder was. Sollte man in Aachen auf jedenfalls mal Ausprobieren. (⁠｡⁠･⁠ω⁠･⁠｡⁠)⁠ﾉ⁠♡

Sehr freundliches Personal. Das Essen war sehr lecker.

Wir waren schon einige Male im ALEX frühstücken. Die Auswahl beim frühstücksbrunch ist vielfältig und sehr gut. Für jeden ist etwas dabei. Kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Es war leider nicht gut waren zum Frühstück da um 10 Uhr 20 und es waren keine Brötchen mehr da und kein Brot und noch anderen Sachen die echt nicht mehr schön aussahen und Personal war auch nicht so freundlich waren anderthalb Stunden da und keiner kam fragen ob wir noch was trinken möchten schade war bestimmt kein guter Tag 😞

Всё было средним - еда, атмосфера, обслуживание. Иногда долго ждешь официанта, не заметила, что прям тебе рады. Когда хотели сесть большой компанией, проблемой стало то, что нельзя было сдвинуть столы на летней площадке. Конечно, же мы ушли. В другой раз , другой официант нам в этом не отказал. Плюс, что одно из немногих мест , в котором готовят после 21:00.
