We had a fantastic dinner here our first night in Traben-Trarbach. Then we took a train to Kövenig and walked back to Traben-Trarbach along the river. That was about a one-hour walk. As we entered Traben at about 3:30 pm, we spotted this restaurant again and, as it was chilly and drizzling, wondered whether they served hot chocolate. Answer-YES. The best hot chocolate with whipped creme EVER. Friendly as can be, too.

A very cozy restaurant. From the friendly welcome to the ordering, the food was of very high quality and delicious: a starter of fried noodle soup, a main course of Wiener schnitzel and wild garlic pancakes. To finish, we had Kaiserschmarrn and a schnapps. Everything was simply fantastic. Very good value for money. We'd love to come back!!!

We went there for dinner. The food was delicious. The portions were quite large, but my wife couldn't finish everything. I also had a delicious dessert (vanilla ice cream with pumpkin seed oil and whipped cream). If we're ever in Traben-Trarbach again, we'll definitely visit this restaurant again.

Wow - what a great Wiener Schnitzel!! We also enjoyed the dumpling trilogy and the beetroot carpaccio, and the Kaiserschmarrn, too. The ambiance is simple, and we liked it. What we really liked was that, due to staffing shortages, they only accepted a limited number of guests. It's a shame for the guests who were turned down, but this meant that the guests who were present received the full attention of the service and the kitchen. Respect for the healthy attitude that service comes before profit!!

Both good and bad...great ambiance, great service, delicious spritzer, the filet stew with cheese spaetzle...not outstanding but good. The Wiener schnitzel was particularly bad. It was very dry and stringy in places, barely seasoned. The breading was an unappealing red, certainly not fried in clarified butter...that would have smelled different. After all, it was veal. In short: a more than below-average Wiener. The potato bird salad was honest, but far too sour.

Small but fine restaurant. The food is delicious, just like in Austria. The staff is very friendly and charming. The location right on the Moselle River really has its charm. We came with our dog and were assigned a seat at a distance from another dog that was already there and obviously didn't want any canine company. Very attentive. We wholeheartedly recommend Litziger Lay.

Sorry. I can't join in the praise. The veal schnitzel was far too tough because it was extremely thin and had far too much breading. As a result, it was too tough and not juicy. I expected more for the price. The fried chicken was very good, but the accompanying salad was practically drowned in pumpkin seed oil.

A good restaurant located directly on the Moselle River, on the eastern edge of the Traben district. The food is delicious and the service friendly. After 8 p.m., dessert must unfortunately be ordered with the meal. The good wine selection, including regional and Austrian wines, is also nice. Make a reservation in advance!

A truly idyllic place to enjoy. The young man who served us today was in a great mood, very friendly, and gave us a very warm welcome. We only took a quick beer break here today while cycling, but we'll be back Sunday evening to try the food. So far, simply fantastic. 👍🏽

We stopped by this afternoon in the hot weather for a drink and possibly a meal later. In the restaurant, which was empty at the time, we were informed that we might be re-seated later. Shortly before we were ready to order, a colleague came over and said we could only eat inside... mind you, it was 33°C. After we were a bit irritated and about to leave, we were "allowed" to stay for another hour and spend a total of €75 on various drinks and a mediocre meal... the fried chicken came from the deep fryer, and I'd be better off finishing the potato salad in the refrigerated section. In any case, we won't be seeing them again... I can't recommend it.

We have eaten here so far on four occasions over two trips to T T. The food is very good and the portion sizes generous and reasonably priced. Best to book a table for lunch or dinner in the height of the summer season. A bit unhappy on our last visit with our booked table being right at the entryway. It was eventually resolved but it all felt awkward.

A very tasty, small, hidden restaurant. We were very satisfied with everything. The service (the chef himself) was extremely friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent and the portions were very generous. Everything was freshly prepared and of good quality. The price-performance ratio is still good here. We sat outside, and it looked cozy inside. I didn't notice any Austrian ambiance, but that didn't detract from the overall impression... We'd be happy to come back.

For us, it wasn't good. The Wiener schnitzel was a complete disappointment. There was very little meat and the breading was really not good for "truly Austrian." We absolutely wouldn't recommend it!

We were there for lunch and were immediately greeted very warmly. A spot on the terrace was available thanks to renovations. The food was delicious and plentiful. We'd love to come back.

We ate here tonight. We both had delicious veal schnitzels. We ordered a regular size, but when we got them, we asked if we could order these for a big appetite, which you could also order. No, this was the regular size. Those "regular" ones are so big! But that wasn't a problem, because we finished them all anyway. Paying was a bit more difficult. They wouldn't accept cards. We tried several other cards, but none worked. And we didn't have enough cash on us. Then the owner figured out it was the machine. It took a while, but eventually the card machine worked again, and we were able to pay.

The food was good but plainly served...the service was good and friendly...the outside area was very simple...not particularly cozy...the outside seating was very uncomfortable...the inside area was quite good...the prices were okay. We went with three people...once was enough...

I once ate a world-class Wiener schnitzel in Salzburg and have been hoping to find one just as delicious somewhere else ever since. So I decided to eat here and go for the schnitzel. Expectations were high, and I was a bit disappointed. It was decent, certainly not bad, but definitely could be better. The service was decent, but a bit hit and miss due to a somewhat hectic atmosphere, so I can't fully assess it. The atmosphere was nice, but definitely not Austrian. In other words, different expectations here too.

I've rarely eaten so well. The service and the chef were very, very nice. So, go there for dinner. It's truly amazing.

You'll receive charming service in a cozy dining room. The food arrives piping hot! The "regular" portions (you can choose between a regular portion and a large portion) are quite generous! Highly recommended! If you don't eat here, you're missing out! The wine selection is regional, but wines from outside the region are also available. Affordable, plentiful, and very tasty! Extremely friendly service.

Friendly service, and they were also the only ones of all the places we visited that actually asked if we needed a high chair. Delicious food, but a lot of it. You could eat it twice because you can take any leftovers home with you.

Litziger Lay is located directly on the Moselle River. Five of us had an outdoor table with a view of the Moselle. The food, from Knöpfle (small dumplings), dumplings, meat dishes, and Kaiserschmarrn (sweet pancakes), was very good, and the portions were generous. The atmosphere and ambiance were perfect, and the accompanying music playlist perfectly matched the Austrian cuisine. All in all, a successful evening with delicious food. The service was friendly, relaxed, and attentive. We'd be happy to return.

We arrived spontaneously with three adults and four children. After a brief consultation with the kitchen, we were politely invited in. The service was very attentive and friendly. Drinks arrived quickly, and we didn't have to wait long for the food either. We were absolutely thrilled. The pancakes were delicious, and the portions were absolutely generous. The kids had chicken nuggets with fries... if you're expecting pressed meat, you're in the wrong place; here the chicken is breaded in-house. Everyone was very satisfied. Thanks for the great Austrian experience ;-)

We were there on a pleasant summer evening and enjoyed a lovely outdoor meal. The Moselle River is right on the doorstep. The food was very plentiful, typical of skiing. The chef from Vorarlberg knows her craft. The service is also very good. The only criticism is that there are few local wines, and they are all overpriced (>€8). Otherwise, a definite recommendation.

The service was quick and attentive, and the menu wasn't too extensive, but offered a very good selection, and there was also something delicious for vegetarians! Everything came quickly, was hot, and was very well-seasoned. The portions (including those at neighboring tables) were absolutely sufficient, and for those with a bit more appetite, they offer larger portions for a small surcharge. The drinks selection is very good. We enjoyed the food immensely! It was a truly wonderful evening, thank you!

We had a good, delicious meal here. The spaetzle and dumplings were great. The mountain cheese had a very strong flavor. The fried onions provided a good contrast. The goulash, however, wasn't what you'd expect from goulash. It was very heavily seasoned with unusual spices. This should have been pointed out when ordering. We had two portions, and the proportions of meat and vegetables were very different 😄, as if they hadn't been stirred thoroughly beforehand. The side salad was boring and bland. Our service was a bit slow and forgetful. We could order everything as an extra side dish, which improved the service. The value for money was very good! Outside, you have a beautiful view of the Moselle. However, the music and the smoking guests somewhat dampened the mood. The online reservation also worked perfectly.

Very tasty, authentic food with "German" portions that we small eaters could also take home with us. Lovely quiet place with fantastic views. And the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful while we were there with a 10 month old baby.

A recommendation, of course. The service was very friendly and attentive. It was very clean. A few pictures of Austria wouldn't make the place seem so bare, but I'm not going to stick to that. The only thing that really caught my eye was the waiter. He wasn't very well dressed for a Sunday and a waitress. He was wearing a faded T-shirt and jeans that didn't look particularly fresh. Just a small tip. But otherwise, it was tip-top.

This restaurant with Austrian cuisine is a welcome change on the Moselle. The food was fresh and deliciously prepared. The drinks are served quickly and cool. The guest room is functionally furnished and has seating. However, there are no dumplings or potatoes for example. E.g. well-made goulash. Only with Knöpfle the selection is a bit narrow. The portions are very generous. The service has to thaw out first, but then it is friendly and attentive.

Menu with Ö-food highlights from Wienerschnitzel to Kaiserschmarren. Refined pricing by omitting side dishes and per-dish choice for the big appetite. Unfortunately not for the little one. Dumpling tris not dumplings but very large/thick napkin slices. Bregenzer cheese soup, excellent for me. Beef goulash in a very peppery version. I didn't know it that way. The house concept, i.e. the recipe, was explained with a nice conversation. A look at other tables showed satisfied guests. If we come back again, it may be possible to choose another dish from Austria.

Since we were on vacation in Traben Trarbach and wanted to eat something decent, we ended up in this wonderful restaurant. The staff was super friendly and accommodating! The service even gave us recipes because we didn't know what to cook for the next few days 😅 Service power is definitely all 5 stars and gladly more! The food came relatively quickly, despite the hut being full. As you can see online, there is original Austrian cuisine here and accordingly the selection is short and to the point without a lot of frills. I had the Wiener Schnitzel here and I haven't had such a good and, above all, original Wiener Schnitzel from veal in a long time. Well made and worth every penny. The wife and children were also very happy :) All in all, highly recommended and not one of those typical rip-off holiday restaurants.

Food very good. Real Viennese schnitzel and very tasty side dishes, so if you want to eat really good Viennese schnitzel, this is definitely the right place for you. Service could be a little more friendly, I would have liked more understanding when asked about ingredients. Not everyone can tolerate everything and therefore eats everything. Unfortunately, the espresso for our dessert came 10 minutes earlier than the dessert, so it was already empty when our Kaiserschmarn arrived. Unfortunately for vegetarians there are only two dishes to choose from.

I had the dumpling trio with garden salad - and what do I have to say? These were the best dumplings I've ever eaten! Tasty, spicy, delicious. The salad was also very colorful and tasty. The portion was large and filling, but the price/performance ratio was really reasonable. If that's not enough, you can also have dessert. Vegetarian dishes available. There is enough parking space along the street. Be sure to reserve in advance. Highly recommended!

Nice restaurant right on the Moselle. There is a parking space on the street. The staff is really very attentive and friendly, you immediately feel at home. The menu is quite small, I would have liked dumplings as a side dish with the main course. The Wäldertöpfle was very tasty and filled me up quite a bit (normal portion). The meat could have been cooked for 1-2 minutes less, but that's complaining at a high level. We will definitely come back to try the other delicious things.
