Little Ethiopia in Berlin

We visited Ethiopia 10 years ago, and for the past few weeks, we've been craving Injera. We chose Little Ethiopia for dinner, and it exceeded all our expectations. The food was incredibly tasty, the service was friendly, and the restaurant had an authentic, cozy atmosphere. We were also delighted to find Tomoca coffee beans on the shelf – a reminder of the excellent coffee we had in Ethiopia. If you're looking for an Ethiopian restaurant in Berlin, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommended!

Super delicious wholesome food and very friendly service 💛

Incredible! For less than 12€ per plate, you can have delicious Ethiopian food. I was stuffed in the end. Honestly, I thought it wouldn’t be enough, but I was struggling to finish my food. Really tasty and great value. Keep in mind, this place is cash only. 7-8pm seems to be the busy hours, so come a bit earlier for the best seating.

I had a great time at this place! The food was really tasty, especially the kitfo. The owner was very nice, and her daughters gave us excellent service. It felt like they really cared about us. If you want to try good Ethiopian food, this is the place to go. I will definitely come back!

We ordered a mixed platter and the food was very tasty. However, the service is really very cozy and a bit confusing. In addition, the toilet and the entire toilet room were a real disgrace and were not clean at all. The tables outside were dirty and some were already very damaged.

Nice, small Ethiopian restaurant in the middle of the Bergmannkiez. Depending on your choice, you can get both vegetarian dishes and meat here. During our visit, everything was of high quality and tasted authentic. The prices were also fair. The service was quite relaxed - not super fast, even though there was very little going on, but since you could sit there very comfortably when the weather was good, that didn't bother you at all. I found the owner to be very friendly and attentive. Even brought us extra injera when we asked. For anyone who would like to try ethical cuisine, I would definitely recommend Little Ethiopia.

So delicious - whether vegan or with meat. I love this variety on the plate - so colorful and so good. With its Ethiopian decor, the restaurant almost seems like a small local museum - it's just fun to explore what's hanging on the walls and curious about the country itself. And when you walk in the door, you're immediately greeted with a smile! 💚💛❤️

Called, asked if they were open and serving dinner and was turned away when I arrived with no option to wait for a table. Extremely rude, disrespectful and disappointing.

Seit nun schon mehreren Jahren gehen wir, wenn in einer Stadt möglich, Äthiopisch essen. Beim passend benannten Little Ethiopia haben wir ohne Zweifel das beste äthiopische Essen, dass wir jemals in Europa hatten, genießen können. Zudem war der Besitzer sehr charmant und zuvorkommend. Er hatte einem beim Essen immer im Blick und konnte einem die Wünsche im Gesicht ablesen, ohne dabei aufdringlich zu sein. Zudem war er auch merkbar glücklich, dass es uns so gut geschmeckt hat. Ich kann Little Ethiopia jeder Person, die in Berlin ist empfehlen und wir kommen ganz sicher wieder!

We wanted to try Ethiopian food for the first time and since this restaurant was so highly rated we decided to try it out. I am so glad that we did! The restaurant itself is pretty small on the inside but also has outdoor seating. You can also buy ethiopian spices here which is nice if you feel inspired. The owner was really warm and welcoming which is unusual for good service in Germany. We shared the number 9: little Ethiopia which is a mix of injera and spiced lentils/cabbage/salad/cheese and also marinated beef in the middle (key wot). Everything on the plate was amazingly spiced, a perfect balance of savoury and spicy- evenly cooked and everything went well together. The beef was succulent and soft and the sauce was accompanied by a warm heat. We didn't have to wait long at all and the prices were cheap considering how much time and energy goes into preparing the food. We will definitely come back!

Essen war sehr lecker , es hat nichts an zusätzlichen Gewürzen gefehlt , es war genau richtig , auch vom Preis ist es in Ordnung. Service war sehr toll, er hatte immer gefragt ob alles in Ordnung sei und seine gute Laune war ansteckend. Ambiente ist relativ klein aber Kulturell eingerichtet, man sieht alles was Äthiopien angeht. Ich komme wieder 🥰

Small menu with traditional Ethiopian pancakes, lentils and vegetable or meat options. The Ethiopian beer was not on the drinks menu so if you want to try an Ethiopian beer ask for it as it isnt on the menu. Traditional eating with fingers too so bring wet wipes!

Red lentils are good. Everything else is quite insipid and there’s absolutely no excusing the extremely slow service.

Traditional Ethiopian food. The food was very delicious and the waitress was welcoming us friendly. They have 2 vegan options on the menu and we chose both of them and shared them. They serve the wat (stew) with injera, a traditional sourdough bread which looks like a sponge. They have Ethopian Walia beers but they aren’t listed on the menu. Looking forward to go here again!

Perfekt! Egal ob mit Fleisch oder Vegetarisch. Man wird von einem sehr sympathischen Mitarbeitern bedient die auch höflich und freundlich bleiben, wenn man kurz vorm Feierabend aufschlägt!

Sehr nett und kulant in unserem Fall war es so, dass der Brot- Zulieferer nicht kam und deshalb die Speise nicht gescheit zubereitet werden konnte, da essentieller Bestandteil. Wir bekamen einen Tee gratis und dann haben sie eine Alternative gesucht die für uns in Ordnung war und haben uns dann 50÷ Rabatt gegeben. War auch lecker ;)

-Before second lockdown review- We came early to ensure a spot. Polite and shy owner gave us good recommendations. My German was even worst back then and she couldn’t speak english so I had to get help from Google. This was my first Ethiopian experience and eating with hands during COVID was challenging but it was very interesting for me.
