Never again!!! So if I had left a review immediately after visiting the restaurant, it would have been 3 or maybe even 4 stars. The ambience was nice, the service friendly and the food served surprisingly quickly. Four of us ate there about 2 weeks ago. As absolute newbies to Ethiopian cuisine, we ordered the large mixed platter. It was served fairly quickly and everything was very filling. The food itself is a matter of taste. 2 thought it was great (at that point) and 2 wanted to leave it as a one-off test. Points would have been deducted here because there was no explanation whatsoever. The large plate was put down and we would have been happy if the young lady had briefly explained what was on it. Unfortunately there was no information whatsoever. Too bad! So we tasted our way through. As already mentioned, it is a matter of taste. But apparently there were only 2 dishes with meat on the plate!?. The rest was vegetarian. A little expensive for the price of 25 euros per person. But why is there only 1 star? Because all 4 of us got diarrhea within the next 24 hours! I also threw up. These complaints lasted for several days! Never again! If all 4 people have these problems, then there is something wrong with the food.

I was pretty disappointed. I regularly enjoy eating Ethiopian food in various restaurants in Berlin. Yesterday I tried the Lalibela in Wedding and was very disappointed. I ordered Doro Wat and the price-performance ratio was underground. The portion consisted of a boiled egg, a small chicken leg and a tiny wing. The whole thing was draped on a maximum of a tablespoon of sauce...and all that for 15 euros!!! My daughter ordered number 12, consisting of 4 different dishes…. There were only three on the plate. We only received the missing dish when we asked, but on the grounds that it would otherwise never be served. Incomprehensible! If there are 4 different types on the menu then these should also be served for the price. My wife ordered Tips and the meat was hard to chew because it was so tough. In the end, the three of us paid 70 euros including a drink and left the restaurant hungry. Basically the taste was okay but the portions were very generous for the price. Unfortunately it was the first and last time at this location.

Service was friendly and fast, and they were very accommodating when asking for variations of their menu.

So good, shared an everything plate in 2. The peanut butter element was to die for, the honey wine super delicious. Gonna go back and get a litre next time.

If you are looking for authentic Ethiopian cuisine, you will not be disappointed here! Very very very tasty. The staff are very friendly and always serve with a smile. There are no wishes left unfulfilled and you feel as welcome as if you were in your own home. We always enjoy coming here to eat. Thanks :-)

The food is absolutely amazing. Every time I’m in town this restaurant is a must! The staff is soooo nice and friendly. Im always leaving beyond satisfied !!! =)

The food was good however I felt that the portions were too small for the amount being charged.

It was my sister's birthday and she wished to go to an Ethiopian restaurant, and we picked this one. We told the waitress she'd pick the table because it was her birthday. We had the Samosas and the house special platter. Not only the food was really outstanding, but the portions were quite large. But the biggest surprise was at the end of the dinner, my sister went to ask the bill and the waitress came back with a dessert with a firework on top, and she played a happy birthday song for my sister! Nobody of us expected this, it was such a nice surprise, so kind and spontaneous! This place and its wonderful staff has definitely left a long lasting, beautiful memory in our hearts (and our stomachs)

"Terrific" Super delicious food. Fresh food, delicious spices. Injera nice and thin and fluffy as it should be. Price performance is definitely very good. We'll be back on our next Berlin trip!

Quite possibly the best Ethiopian food I've ever had and I've had it from all over the world including Addis. The flavor, the portion size, presentation of the food and service was all amazing. I had the tibs by the way. 5 out of 5 for sure. I will definitely visit again whenever I'm in Berlin.

I didn't like the vegetarian dishes and were bland and the flatbread was very sour. I can't judge whether it's authentic Ethiopian cuisine. I absolutely cannot recommend the food.

Ordered several times Doro wot, the first time was good, but after that every time the portion was shrinking. The extra rice ordered was just a joke, without the extra small portion of rice it’s basically a mini child meal of rice and one small drumstick and a cooked egg in the sauce along with some aged salad I just threw away. If you don’t wanna do promotion or discount then don’t ! Otherwise it’s scam

Avoid this place. Had bad stomach pain. Bad quality and expensive food.I was here one year back ago. It was nice and delicious but now it is really sour and not nearly close to an authentic Ethiopian food

The food was good, nevertheless not even close to what I had in other Ethiopian restaurants. It lacked flavour, especially the lentils. The waiters were very nice and friendly, the place was quiet, would have really been perfect would the food had a bit more taste.

We tried menu numbers 062 and 030. Overall okay. But some of the stew didn't test authentic or nice.

The dishes were served at a very long interval, so that you couldn't eat together. The food was tasty but unfortunately no one could tolerate it. The ambience was visually very nice, only the music was repeatedly interrupted by streaming advertising. In the end the calculation wasn't correct either, which was then corrected very quickly.

Good food, wonderful service, clean and will go back. The portions are large. We had a large mixed platter for 2, which would easily feed 3 people. They could turn down the volume on the music a little though to make conversation easier.

Wonderful little restaurant with flair! Incredibly delicious and authentic food served on large platters. Traditionally, it is eaten with bread and hands. Cutlery is also available upon request! 😄

Wir besuchen Lalibela immer wieder gerne am Nachmittag, um Ostafrikanisches zu genießen. Jedes Mal sind wir von der liebevollen Zubereitung der Gerichte begeistert. Ich kann gar nicht genug betonen, wie herausragend die Qualität der Speisen ist. Die Gastfreundschaft und Freundlichkeit des Personals tragen maßgeblich zu unserem Wohlbefinden bei und machen unseren Besuch zu etwas Besonderem. Da meine Wurzeln in Eritrea liegen, fühle ich mich hier immer ein bisschen wie zu Hause. Ein absolutes Muss ist die Platte für zwei Personen mit 11 Saucen. Es ist erstaunlich, wie eine einzige Platte oft für zwei Personen ausreicht, da die Portionen großzügig sind. Das Teilen dieser Platte ist zu einem Ritual für uns geworden, und wir genießen es jedes Mal aufs Neue. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Schmeckt ganz gut, aber es wurde wirklich alles nur aufgewärmt, nichts frisch zubereitet. Sogar die Salatblätter waren schon vorgeschnitten. Für die Preise kann man zumindest bei Gerichten, die es erlauben, frische Zubereitung erwarten.

Ich habe schon bei einigen äthiopischen Restaurants in verschiedenen Städten gegessen. Die Speisen hier haben mir sehr gut geschmeckt und waren super gewürzt, es waren auch einige neue Kombinationen dabei, die ich noch nicht kannte. Es gibt sogar verschiedene Variationen, auch verschiedene vegetarische Speisen. Ich war rundum zufrieden, es ist auch schön eingerichtet und die Bedienung war sehr nett. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder!

This is worst and most unhygienic restaurant I’ve been to in Europe. Tables and chairs in the dining area had COCKROACHES roaming around!!! I cannot simply imagine the kitchen and other areas. We cancelled our food order and immediately left the place! Worse thing is they even charged us for the drinks that we had ordered and didn’t even apologize for the disgusting cockroach encounter. It was very obvious that they were aware of the issue. DO NOT trust the reviews for this place!

We ordered the meat/veggie combo plate. 19euros/pp. The dishes were lacking seasoning. Not the best Ethiopian dishes but ok. The food took a long time to come out. Service was nice. Tables inside and outside.

This is an average restaurant at best. Compared to other Ethiopian food experiences I've had in Berlin and elsewhere, this feels like a very poor analog of what Ethiopian food is supposed to taste like. I already had doubts as we walked in and didn't see a single Ethiopian person in sight. In the kitchen there also didn't seem to be any actual Ethiopian people employed. The food came out VERY quickly (maybe 2-5 minutes after ordering), which sounds like a positive, but when food comes out that quick it usually means it's all pre-prepped and just microwaved. The taste of the food was ok, but lacked the real depth and nuance of proper Ethiopian cuisine. The Njera was dense and dry without the distinctive sour dough flavour I've come to expect. I suspect this place is part of a chain and makes its money through heavy marketing and mass prep of the various dishes in advance. I would recommend looking at other, non-Lalibela options if in Berlin to avoid disappointment.

Ethiopian food is quite delicious and lalibela does a decent job by serving it right. It's a bit expensive for the quantity you get. Try doro wat , the flavours were great.

Insgesamt geht es für mich nicht auf - zu teuer, zu shabby auch das Ambiente (Tür zur Toilette schließt nicht), falsche Rechnung, einige Zutaten definitiv sehr günstig irgendwo eingekauft - es schmeckt schon, ich würde aber nicht wieder hingehen.

Not authentical, bit a rip off. The injera was not fresh. They did not have Berbere. The Tibs was like I’ve never seen before, I could almost not find the meat in between all the onions and peppers and sauce. There is no Ethiopian in the kitchen. The waiter did not really understand when I asked for some Ethiopian things. The worst Ethiopian food I’ve eaten in Germany. We should have turned around when we came, there was no Ethiopian guest, which already is a bad sign. There are better Ethiopian restaurants in Berlin. I will never come back.

the place is amazing, the scenery, the staff and the food are exemplary. most food is very spicy, but they have less spicy options. 1 meal was enough for me and my wife. there you should eat as in Ethiopia, use your hands to pinch food with the bread (gluten free) that comes with the meal, but you can ask for fork and knife if you want.

Wir waren vor ein paar Tagen zu zweit im Lalibela. Wir wollten authentische äthiopische Gerichte essen und entschieden uns für eine Mischung aus verschiedenen Sorten Gemüse und Fleisch. Eine gemeinsame Platte half beim Teilen. Das Essen mit den Fingern unter Zuhilfenahme von Injera wurde gut erklärt. Es war sehr schmackhaft und interessant gewürzt. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und stets zur Stelle. Wir kommen gerne wieder!!!

Super leckeres Essen!! Schön angerichtet! Nettes Personal! Schöne Deko. Wir haben eine Portion für 2 Personen zu dritt gegessen. Es ist immernoch etwas übrig geblieben. Kaffee für den Weg, gab es auch aus einer tollen traditionellen Kanne.

Sehr zu empfehlen! Das Essen war sehr lecker und wurde traditionell auf einer Platte mit Hütchen gereicht. Wir hatten das Lalibela cultural spezial für 2. Und einen traditionellen Café danach. Auch sehr freundlicher Service und in der Karte sind Informationen zu Sprache, den Lebensmitteln und Gewürzen. Hat Spaß gemacht. Wir kommen wieder. 😀

Erstmaliges Erleben der äthiopischen Küche, eine interessante Erfahrung.

Lalibela, ein kleines Stück Äthiopien in Berlin - ein wahres Träumchen. So lecker italienisch, kroatisch, griechisch und andere Küchen sind, auf Dauer wenig abwechslungsreich Umso erfreulicher ist, die Vielzahl Küchen anderer Länder in Berlin vor zufinden. Das Lalibela haben ich schon einmal in Berlin Kreuzberg testen können und war begeistert. Jetzt war ich mit meiner Familie in Berlin Wedding essen. Selbst meine Mama mit ihren 85 Jahren war beeindruckt von den geschmacklich großartigen Speisen! Es klingt vielleicht ein bisschen übertrieben, aber die Gewürzkombination, das leckere hauchdünne Sauerteigbrot, das Hähnchen und Ei in einer leckeren Soße, das Rindfleisch-Stew, alles ist sensationell zubereitet..... Wirklich zu empfehlen ist eine Vielfalt der Speisen zu wählen, um möglichst viel zu erleben. Herzlichen Dank für das köstliche Essen

We ordered yetsom beyeaynet, shero and miser. And the taste was catastrophe, i don't know wht kind of shiro power they use it doesn't taste like shiro also the same story with the miser. It's so shameful introducing the very testy Ethiopian food in such a way. They are typically betraying tricking people who don't know the real Ethiopian kitchen, and for a very expensive price. In general the restaurant is making money out of nothing.

The food is amazing and certainly worth a visit in the restaurant however, don't order online with them ( I used Uber Eats). It's definitely not their strength and they seem very unorganized. I had three deliveries in a row of which one was completely wrong and for the two others there were articles missing, my orders contained max 4 articles. Even when the driver went back I got another wrong one.. I got a refund for all cases but the experience was frustrating because it's up to you to manage the refunds on your own and they also waste the time of the food delivery drivers.

Ein kleines Restaurant an der Hauptstraße. Von außen kaum zu erkennen, aber wenn man reingeht merkt man schnell den Flair Afrikas. Das Essen und die Bedienung waren sehr gut. Das Essen ist richtig lecker. Abends wird es gern voll. Wer ein bisschen Ruhe habe möchte, der sollte ab 16 Uhr kommen. Ich komme gerne wieder.
