Frisch und köstlich. Die Vielfalt ist ein wahrer Genuss. Die Portionen sind großzügig, aber wir fühlten uns danach nicht schwer, sondern richtig satt. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Teuer! Normalerweise zahlt man 18 € für drei Portionen, hier sind es 16 € für eine Portion. Außerdem sind die Portionen in Wirklichkeit viel kleiner als auf dem Foto in der Beschreibung.

Das Restaurant ist klein und hat ein super schönes und ruhiges Ambiente und die Bedienung ist sehr herzlich und freundlich! Das Essen war auch toll! Empfehlenswert im Sommer zum draußen sitzen.

Ich liebe alles an diesem Laden, sobald man rein kommt wird man super nett behandelt und bedient das Essen ist unfassbar gut und einfach mal was ganz anderes ! Ich bin mehr als begeistert

Ich war mit Freunden zum Abendessen verabredet und es war ein wirklich schönes Erlebnis. Köstliches Essen, guter Service und ein angenehmes Ambiente.

Wir waren gestern Spätnachmittag mit drei Freunden im Lalibela Restaurant in Berlin. Wir haben zwei vegetarische und zwei Fleischgerichte bestellt, die zusammen auf einer großen Platte serviert wurden. Es war richtig lecker und eine tolle Möglichkeit, die verschiedenen Speisen gemeinsam zu genießen. Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, und auch die Atmosphäre hat uns richtig gut gefallen. Alles hat hervorragend geschmeckt. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

I always try to keep my reviews objective and give others an honest impression. This time, however, it is difficult not to sound harsh: this was probably the worst restaurant meal I have ever had. For €15, you get a few spoonfuls of mostly cold, sour and poorly seasoned vegetables served on soggy injera, plus more injera on the side. Three people paid almost €50 for what was essentially lentils, cabbage, pumpkin and a few supermarket salad leaves. The service was friendly, but unfortunately no owner was available to discuss the criticism. In my view, the prices are completely unjustified given the very poor quality. /// Grundsätzlich: ich versuche in meinen Besprechungen immer objektiv zu bleiben und anderen Kunden und Gästen einen authentischen Eindruck zu vermitteln, damit sie selber möglichst vor dem Besuch sich ein Bild machen können. Noch nie ist mir das so schwer gefallen, weil in diesem Falle Objektivität sehr krass rüberkommt: das wohl schlechteste Essen in einem Restaurant das ich in meinem Leben hatte. Viel zu teuer! Für 15 € bekommt man fünf Esslöffel eigentlich kaltes, säuerliches, nicht interessant gewürztes Gemüse, serviert auf aufgeweichten Fladen, zusätzlich gibt es auch noch Fladen zum Essen. Das ist ja landes lippisch für äthiopische Küche. D.h. man hat für noch nicht einmal aufgewärmtes Essen für drei Personen praktisch 50 € zu bezahlen, schade dass ich kein Foto gemacht habe, für ein paar Linsen Brot und gelb, Grünkohl, Kürbis, drei kleine Blattsalat aus dem Supermarkt, das einzig erfreuliche war die nette Bedienung. Leider war kein Besitzer zu sprechen, so musste ich meine deutliche Kritik erfolglos dort anbringen. Es möge sich jeder vorher überlegen, ob er diese angesichts der unterirdischen Qualität unverschämte Preisgestaltung mittragen möchte.

Sehr leckeres Essen und super netter Service!

Das Ambiente ist wirklich schön und lädt zum Verweilen ein. Der Service war sehr freundlich, könnte aber noch etwas mehr Training und Routine gebrauchen. Das Essen war in Ordnung, hat uns allerdings nicht ganz überzeugt und unsere Erwartungen leider nicht vollständig erfüllt. Schade, denn die Atmosphäre des Restaurants ist eigentlich sehr gelungen.

Für den Preis des Tellers hatten wir eine größere Portion erwartet. Wir gingen hungrig. Wir wollten noch ein Dessert bestellen, aber niemand vom Personal kam zu uns, obwohl wir die einzigen Gäste im Restaurant waren. Man konnte nur bar bezahlen und bekam keine richtige Rechnung, sondern nur handgeschriebene Zahlen auf einem Zettel.

Ich fange mit dem Positiven an. Der Service sowie der der Geschmack des Essens war gut. Leider war der Preis für die kleine Portionen sehr teuer und bei der Größe der Cola muss man bei der Abrechnung aufpassen, dass nichts falsch abgerechnet wird. Mein Fazit die Geschäfte in Frankfurt, Düsseldorf und Dresden ist das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis

Mein erster Besuch in einem äthiopischen Restaurant. Es hat mir geschmeckt, aber die Aromen waren nicht besonders aufregend. Die Idee, dass die Bedienung Trachten trägt, fand ich toll. Die Preise waren sehr gut. Beim nächsten Mal würde ich gerne etwas mit mehr regionalem Gemüse probieren. Nachtrag 2026: Wir hatten online reserviert, kamen aber an und es war leider alles ausgebucht.

Das Essen hat mir sehr gut geschmeckt und der Service war wirklich hervorragend. Ich fand es toll, dass sie Englisch sprachen, aber leider akzeptieren sie nur Bargeld.

Essen: - Doro wot war zu zäh Service - Sehr nett und zuvorkommend Ambiente: - Die Location ist etwas zu eng. - In der Toilette war der Papierspender nicht aufgeladen und es wurden provisorisch Papierrollen zur verfügung gestellt. Sich mit nassen Händen von einer Papierrolle zu bedienen, ist immer etwas unpraktisch :) - Die Musik war etwas zu laut und die Lieder waren remix und nicht die Originalen ;)

Wir hatten die Gudegna-Kombination und waren begeistert. Gutes Essen, angenehme Atmosphäre. Bitte beachten Sie: Nur Barzahlung.

Mit meinem Freund, der Vegetarier ist waren wir bei Lalibela essen. Die freundliche Bedienung sagte, sie würde uns was vegetarisches und ein Gericht mit Fleisch bringen. Das erleichterte die Bestellung, als wir fragten was sie uns genau anbot, bekamen wir jedoch keine Antwort. Die Speisekarte konnten wir nicht lesen, weil wir keine Lesebrillen dabei hatten. Das Essen war lecker und ausreichend, die Rechnung jedoch unfair. Auch wenn das Essen lecker ist, wünsche ich mir von der Bedienung, dass sie mir über die Speisen erzählen kann, was das Besondere an der Küche ist, wie die Speisen zubereitet werden aus was für Zutaten sie typischerweise bestehen, aus welcher Region sie genau stammen. Dass sie mit der Hand gegessen werden ect. In anderen Restaurants, wo man mit den Händen isst, werden einem vorab warme, feuchte Handtücher serviert und auch danach. Hier bekommt man zum Essen eine Papierserviette und wird schräg angeschaut, wenn man Besteck wünscht. Für ein Glas 0,3 Wasser sollten wir 4,90 zahlen, das gleiche galt für ein Glas 0,3 Cola. Auf der Rechnung stand die Gläser seien 0,4 gewesen. Ich hätte protestieren sollen, entschied mich jedoch nicht wieder hin zu gehen. Insgesamt habe ich mich lieblos behandelt gefühlt und abgezockt, es geht hier nicht um den Gast.

The dishes had no balance of flavor, and everything felt reheated. I wouldn’t suggest this place to anyone craving Ethiopian cuisine.

I’m befuddled by the good reviews. Did the price of salt go up? This was like a German Temu version of Ethiopian food. I’ve had home cooked Habesha food for 20+ years, excellent dining experiences in Little Ethiopia in LA, hell I’ve even had good Habesha food cooked by a Greek man in Athens—Lalibela was by far the worst Ethiopian food I’ve ever had. For the price I expect the authentic flavor profile, not a currywurst version of Doro Wot, etc. They didn’t even offer beets.

The food was quite delicious, with small portions of healthy items throughout. The ambience, music, lighting, and service were good too. I definitely recommend going to try the beautiful and exquisite cuisine of Ethiopia. For me, the food felt like home.

We were there last year, it was very crowded in limited space. The presentation of the food is larger than the food themselves, and one time experience is enough. They couldn’t provide invoice on set that night, but promised sending us by email and ensured us no problem and no worries. We’ve never received an email from them in the end.

the beef is very hard and dry. so I don't recommend the dish with beef. Ordered and waited almost one hour for the food to be served.

It was a good experience. Very different type of food. It was recommended to us by a friend and we enjoyed our food. They take only cash and we only came to know when it was time to pay. Vegetarian dishes were one time try but my friends really enjoyed the meat based dishes.

A while ago, I was at Lalibela on Herrfurtstrasse in Neukölln and ordered something I'd never eaten before. I just wanted to try it, but I didn't really like it. Sour bread as a side dish isn't my thing.

Cool restaurant. Just something different. Super tasty and absolutely affordable. Please note no card payment possible. But there is a vending machine around the corner

The vegetarian combination is really delicious, you eat it with your hands and the traditional dough, which is a real experience and tastes special. Unfortunately it is very narrow and sometimes a bit noisy to really enjoy it. You should make a reservation in the evening to guarantee a spot.

A very good food experience in the heart of Berlin

The waitresses were super friendly and gave us very good advice when choosing dishes. The food was super tasty. At the end there was Ethiopian coffee on the house.

I reserved a table for 6 people, arrived on time, and the waitress said there was no table available even though the reservation was confirmed. Afterwards they offered us a place outside for a maximum of 4 people, which was not suitable for us because of the cold. We had to look for another restaurant. If they cannot fulfill reservations correctly, they should reconsider this service. It is very inconvenient not to get a table with a confirmed reservation.

Die vegetarische Platte: je 1 Esslöffel Linsen, Grünkohl, Sauce, 2 Kartoffelviertel und wirklich auch 1 EL Salat mit den luftigen Fladen für 20€ - nicht mal lauwarm serviert. Dazu die Rechnung auf einem handgeschriebenen Zettel …. D.h. der Verbrauch wird geschätzt und nicht jede Zahlung wird steuerlich abgerechnet! Keine befriedigende Mahlzeit, Einmal und nie wieder.

El espacio del restaurante es bastante normal pero acogedor. La comida es solo promedio, no demasiado especial. El servicio también está bien.

This place was extremely disappointing. The moment you walk in, there’s a strong smell of mold, which is immediately off-putting. The cleanliness is clearly lacking, and it sets a bad tone for the experience. None of us enjoyed the food or the atmosphere. The bread, in particular, was a huge letdown—it felt like eating food on a flavorless crepe. The overall dining experience was very unpleasant, and we left feeling dissatisfied. What’s even more frustrating is that most of the glowing reviews seem fake. If you sort the reviews by the most recent, you’ll notice numerous suspicious accounts giving it 5 stars. Even the promotional videos appear misleading and don’t reflect the reality of the place. I definitely don’t recommend this restaurant. Save your time and money and choose somewhere else for a better experience.

We came spontaneously. Even though the place was packed to the ceiling, we decided to eat there anyway. The service was relaxed and friendly. A bit too attentive for us but nothing bad :) Food arrived relatively quickly considering it was so full. There was a lot of injera, the typical Ethiopian bread, which was very good. The only thing we really have to criticize was that the portions of the main courses were relatively small. We liked it so much that we would have liked more of the aromatic sauces and such instead of ordering a new dish straight away. 🤤
