Unfortunately my experience wasn't good. The interior clearly shows its age. The prices are outrageously high for a “to go” portion size with only 3 pieces of meat and the taste of the food wasn’t convincing either. The plates were also a bit dirty.

Very nice restaurant. Very reserved service. A chicken royal with rock-hard (how can something like that even happen in a restaurant, it's not turkey) chicken breast and a mini salad. The best was the mango salad dressing. The rest were below average. It's a shame, I was hoping for a little better quality with so many positive reviews. Dinner is 5 euros more expensive than lunch.

I have been to Germany for last 3 years, and by far the best bengali food I have had in this restaurant. The food was very delicious and the service was perfect. Worth the price!

My first negative review on Google. We were very excited about the food, the starter (samosa) was delicious but unfortunately our main courses were far too salty and the dessert (tasting platter) was unfortunately rather unimpressive in terms of taste. It's a shame, but we can't recommend it.

We were asked if we liked it spicy - YESAAAA was our answer - but unfortunately the food was absolutely bland. There was a small portion of spicy sauce for seasoning. What a shame! The restaurant is also very loud and quite expensive - so we won't be coming back. The Mango Lassi also tasted very bland, not much like mango, for a whopping 5.50 euros.

The food, while not exactly bad, is not authentic. I ordered roast polao and got essentially a curry. There was also a bit of stale smell in the food. The place seemed under staffed.

Finely balanced cuisine in a very pleasant atmosphere We visited the restaurant for the first time in August. It is located not far from the old town and can be reached quickly on foot from there. If you come by car you can park on the adjacent streets. As soon as we arrived, we noticed the very beautiful outdoor area on a traffic-calmed street. The restaurant also looked modern and pleasant inside. The service was excellent and the food was a wonderful surprise. The dishes were beautifully presented and finely balanced; they could hardly be prepared better. In summary, the Bengal is a real recommendation, we would be happy to come back next time we visit Freiburg!

Nice ambience in the outdoor area, service ok, very tasty drinks, but of the two main courses one only tasted salty and the other lacked any specific flavor - it's a shame, we used to enjoy the food well. Service and food good, menu heavily reduced due to lack of staff. It was good but not outstanding. My favorite dish is no longer off the menu☹️. The fountain can only marginally enhance the ambience. There was a small stack of boxes in the entrance area. On the whole, however, to be recommended, at the latest again with a normal menu.

I hope this review will help the owner!!! We were a big group of 16 people on friday evening. First of all it is very difficult to book a table. When you call them, they say they don't hear you. If you write them an email, their inbox is full and the mail is not sent through. You need to physically go there to book a table and in 2024 this is just not right ;-) The service is a bit weird and we also waited for our food for too long. The first appetizers arrived after 40 minutes I believe, and the first hauptgericht after 1 hour and 25 minutes. The portions are quite tiny for the price. The food is ok, but not very special and I expected more spicy.

The food was not spicy at all, even though we requested the spiciest.

What an excellent restaurant! The food is what one can expect to eat when in Bangla Desh; full of taste and spice (and spicY if one desires). I highlight recommend the samosas as starter.

My wife and I just had an excellent dinner here while visiting from Toronto. The dishes combined flavours and ingredients in tasty new ways. The vegetable samosas were terrific. The owner (who also served us) was very friendly and attentive. Glad we found this place for a taste of something different.

I had a really nice supper. The mango salad with tomato and mozzarella is to die for. It has a mix of different flavours that explode in your mouth. The beef was very tasty also. Service was very good and friendly.Will definitely come back here

Erg fijn restaurant. Heerlijk eten, en lekker veel groenten. Omdat ik een bepaalde groente niet kan eten, kreeg ik extra veel van de andere. Ook verassend qua smaak, spannend. Zeer gastvrij. Echte aanrader!

The fresh mango salad was amazing. Would love to come back for it. The atmosphere gives you vibe of a very contemporary Bangladesh. Would recommend if you are interested in very freshly made curry style food.

Schönes Bengalisches Restaurant mit entspannter Atmosphäre, tollem Essen und ausgezeichnetem Service. Sehr zu empfehlen ist der gemischte bengalische Salat mit Obst und Gemüse und das Dal Veggi. Die angebotenen Schärfelevels sind übrigens wie beschrieben. Medium-scharf ist tatsächlich moderat scharf. Komme gerne wieder!

Z kuchnia bengalska mialam tutaj pierwszy raz do czynienia. Bylo pysznie i tak juz pozostalo. Skladniki swieze, potrawy potrafia oczarowac podniebienie. Restauracja znajduje sie niedaleko dworca glownego, choc troszke schowana. Obsluga bardzo mila. Calosc jak najbardziej godna polecenia.

Ganz arg süßer Außenbereich, tolles und vorallem leckeres Essen (+ wunderschön und mit viel Liebe angerichtet), sehr netter Service und viel Auswahl (auch für vegetarische und vegane Menschen). Also insgesamt nur Empfehlenswert!
