Li Beirut in Düsseldorf

I ate there with my family today and although the starters were delicious, the portions were relatively small for the price and the wait was quite long even though the restaurant was maybe 30% full. When the main course arrived, we all unfortunately agreed that we didn't like it. The quality of the food was completely different from what we had experienced with the starters. The chicken was a bit unseasoned and tough, the rice looked and tasted like it had been prepared a few days ago and the vegetables weren't cooked properly and therefore a bit hard. The lamb my family had wasn't convincing either and the mixed grill platter with fries was unfortunately not there either; for example, the fries had been fried for too long and were hard and a bit burnt as a result. All in all, for the price, we probably won't be going back.

I’ve been around for 2 weeks, i have never ate in such amazing and delicious place. The food is above expectations and their service is exceptional. I would definitely recommend it!

I went there for dinner with friends on a Friday evening. The service was extremely friendly and very accommodating. When asked, she gave excellent recommendations and switched to English when necessary. Both the starters and main courses were excellent; everything was fresh and incredibly delicious. They constantly cleared away empty dishes and asked if we wanted any more drinks. We also received a great recommendation for dessert, and when we couldn't decide, they gave everyone at the table a free piece of baklava. All the desserts, and especially the baklava ice cream, were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant; I would go back anytime!

Very delicious food, service is average

The food was delicious. The lamb was excellent. The value for money for both the starters and main courses was good. The set menus, however, are the best. They are truly top-notch, with a great selection, very good food, and everything included. The service was impeccable, very friendly, and completely unobtrusive. The restaurant is bright and welcoming, and very clean. We felt very comfortable and would gladly return.

The food was excellent – fresh, authentic, and full of flavor. I'd especially like to highlight the service: incredibly attentive, friendly, and courteous. Because the machine broke that morning, we couldn't pay by card. So we limited our order to drinks, as we didn't have enough cash with us. The waitress immediately bought us two beers on the house. She responded brilliantly!

The staff were very friendly and attentive, and the portion sizes were generous but it was still overpriced. The chicken was slightly over-seasoned for my taste.

Great choice for a Lebanese restaurant

I wasn’t really happy with the service. Yes it was full but I’ve been disregarded many times and been promised to come back for my request which never happened. The grill teller was not for me - too dry and missed the juiciness. The falafel was good! Hummus, Mutabal, the salads I’d skip. Eggplant with cauliflower was alright.

Everything is authentic, homemade and all the wines are coming from Lebanon. The food is one of the best we have ever tried! The location and ambience are perfect as well. Amazing food, amazing service. Our waitress Lori has been super nice with us throughout the whole dinner. Also, I have celiac disease and she has been very careful explaining to me which options were gluten free and what I should avoid. Highly recommended.

I was here with my Palestinian business partner. The restaurant has a classical decor. The food is mostly excellent; you can taste the Orient. However, I wasn't impressed with number 134 on the menu; the dish had little connection to Middle Eastern cuisine. Unfortunately, I also have to say that the prices are very high for what's on offer; you can sometimes get better and cheaper food in Essen itself. In summary: Great atmosphere, friendly staff, food is reasonable, but not all of it is authentic, and the prices are definitely on the higher end.

The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't warm either. There was a hair in the starter, which we noticed in the kitchen and was simply removed. The same plate was served to us again without an apology. We waited a very long time for the food. The food wasn't warm and I got fries instead of sliced ​​potatoes. The staff weren't friendly and we unfortunately didn't feel comfortable. After the meal we were given a small sweet on the house, which was also delicious. The restaurant has a lot of potential and we would have happily returned if this potential had been fulfilled.

The food was quite okay. But the value for money wasn't optimal. The starters were relatively small, and we also shared a plate for the main course. We asked not to have lamb, but we got lamb anyway.

This is my first time trying Lebanese food, and I couldn't have found a better place. The service was simply magnificent. I think the food was some of the best I've ever eaten, and I've tried everything. The shawarma was spectacular. I'll definitely be back.

Dear Li Beirut Team, We visited you today for my wife's birthday and had a generally wonderful time. Aside from the fact that the food, especially the meat and vegetables, and the raw vegetables, weren't particularly fresh, one thing really bothered us and put a damper on what was otherwise a pleasant experience. We ordered the "platter for two people," which was labeled "€54 per person." It wasn't until we received the bill that we realized the total price was €108. We found the wording on the menu to be misleading, as it can quickly make it seem as if the dish costs a total of €54. Perhaps you could clarify the pricing a bit in the future – something like: "Plate for two people – €108 (€54 per person)" This would avoid potential misunderstandings and increase transparency. Super delicious food in a pleasant, stylish atmosphere. The menu features creative ideas that complement traditional Lebanese cuisine. I (as a connoisseur) have never experienced some of the dishes quite like this before, and we were thrilled. The desserts are also fantastic, and the mastic ice cream with baklava crunch is a must-try. You can't eat your way through the entire menu, but I'm excited about the next dishes we'll try. Elie's Hugo with the homemade lemonade is a hit! Keep it up!

We had the menu with a welcome drink, 10 warm and cold starters, a main course and a selection of desserts - we were all more than full and from then on we were well looked after. Unprofessional service, barren canteen atmosphere, portions small and overpriced, taste ok. What we found unpleasant was that the service barely spoke German, wore everyday clothes, patrolled around our table and watched us eat. We could hardly have a conversation and as soon as we had emptied a bowl it was cleared away several times.

Unfortunately not recommended. The food was disappointing. The falafel and kibbeh were too over-fried and hard, the portions were far too small and extremely overpriced. They had been very economical with bread. Unfortunately, the service and the ambience were also not convincing - overall a very unsatisfactory experience. We definitely won't go there again.

The first Lebanese restaurant where you truly feel like you're tasting real Lebanese food. It’s truly the best place to enjoy a real culinary journey to Lebanon.

Unfortunately a big disappointment. The starter was really tasty, but the main course was a disappointment: small portion, carelessly prepared and dry. The dessert was ok but nothing special. The biggest problem, however, was the service. For the price we paid we would have expected at least a reasonable wait - instead we waited over 1 hour and 15 minutes for the main course. The dessert also came after a long delay. Particularly annoying: The service staff deliberately looked away when we tried to call them to the table. For the money we definitely expected a much better experience. Unfortunately not recommended.

Very nice set-up, great menu, food of the highest quality: served quickly, freshly prepared and absolutely delicious! Unfortunately, we were there on carnival Saturday and although we asked before ordering the second glass of wine and dessert whether it was still a good time, we were basically “turned out”: the service staff first stared at us and then brought the bill without being asked. Not very hospitable. Tip: next time just be honest about when it will close or don't accept any further orders.
