Luckily we had reserved a table and the table for two in the aisle was free for us 15 minutes earlier. The service is very friendly, customer-oriented and gives good recommendations. The menu has an interesting selection and the food we ordered tasted good to very good. We personally also liked the wine selection and discovered a new winemaker for ourselves. But we will definitely come back.

Every week there are changing dishes for lunch at affordable prices. Lunch is also offered on weekends. This means that working people who can't make it during the week also have the opportunity to try out the delicious dishes. The schnitzels are also highly recommended.

A pleasant restaurant. Unfortunately, the food arrived delayed and the waiters seemed a bit disorganized. What was confusing was that several people served our table. The ambience was okay, what was striking was that for a restaurant the tables and decoration were chosen randomly (lots of wine bottles, skateboard pictures, empty wine boxes, a golden monkey, etc.). The portions were reasonable. The food was still delicious, for example. the Spundekäs or especially the truffle cream.

We like Lehmanns. We enjoy going there, especially for lunch. Varied, tasty and inexpensive. Good wine selection. The service is super friendly and attentive. Unreserved recommendation. Reservation makes sense.

We had a wonderful evening at Lehmanns. Highly recommended! Visually, it is furnished to a very high standard, which is why we were unsure about our clothing at first, but immediately after we were warmly welcomed we realized that it was upscale but also classically “meenzerish” and easy for “everyone”. Like a chic living room, no :) For dinner we had the Wiener Schnitzel. Golden brown, not dripping with fat and you could really taste the high quality of the veal, which is also offered for a relatively reasonable price! My wife's allergies were also addressed without any problems. Apparently they just cook properly, so you can adapt things. The service was very courteous, always on site and very competent when it came to advice on the very wide wine list. My wife and I have two completely different tastes when it comes to wine and we were able to meet them perfectly through recommendation. Particularly noteworthy is the high level of hygiene! Toilets, guest area, counter everything looks sparkling clean, which is very rare! You notice that the boss is still there every day and cares! We made reservations for next week directly at home via the website :)

Had a perfect girls' night 💁🏽‍♀️ Great location, huge wine list to try out and a lot more drinks available upon request 🥂 We also made reservations a few days in advance and consulted by phone about a menu, which was no problem at all. We held our Christmas party at Lehmanns with 14 people and were very satisfied. The food is first class, there is an excellent wine list and the service was absolutely top notch. The service was very attentive and yet discreet, they fulfilled our wishes and were excellently trained. We had a great evening. I can recommend Lehmanns at any time, both for a celebration with a larger group or in a small circle.

We were there for dinner and were very impressed. The 3-course menu offers a great price-performance ratio and you can put together the courses yourself. For the main course we chose goose leg and beef fillet. The goose leg was tender and juicy and the fillet was grilled to perfection. The crème brûlée rounded it all off. The service was also friendly and attentive and invited us for an espresso. We'd love to come back!

On a Saturday afternoon you sit there as an individual for fifteen minutes without even getting a glance, let alone being allowed to place an order, and are ignored. The table for 7 next to it is served double and triple, can place follow-up orders and is well catered for. Conclusion: Save it if you are not in a larger group. It's a shame because I actually know things differently there.

The ambience of the wine bar impresses with nostalgic remnants of an old pub with many modern elements and new furniture. The decoration with wine bottles is stylish and attractive. A big compliment to the super nice service! This one deserves 5 stars. Unfortunately, the kitchen was a bit inflexible about only serving a roast beef with a large salad. So I decided on a large salad with fried beef strips (side salad plus upgrade to large salad for an additional 6.50 euros). My colleague ordered a small side salad with strips of beef. When our food arrived I was a bit taken aback. Both salads (large and small) looked identical. The waiter emphasized that my salad was the larger one. With good will you could see two more lettuce leaves. But with all my love, at an extra charge of 6.50 euros you expect a significantly larger portion of salad AND also more meat. The waiter seemed surprised himself and asked the kitchen again. Unfortunately, some of my meat had fat/tendons. Ultimately I was very disappointed...especially given the otherwise consistently good reviews. The other colleagues' Wienerschnitzel were very good. And the roast beef seemed good too. After the main course I was offered a dessert on the house. I thought that was a nice gesture, which I gratefully accepted. Thanks again! However, it is still a mystery to me how the salads are measured and that the roast beef could not have been served with lettuce instead of potatoes and wild mushrooms.

Cozy restaurant with very nice staff. The selection of food is good, but with higher prices. The 3-course menu for €39 per person therefore very worthwhile. Sundays are also Schnitzel Sundays here, where each schnitzel costs under €13. The food itself was very tasty and filling.

We've been to Lehmanns a few times, but today we were particularly impressed. We sat in the “confessional.” There was even Prosecco for our wedding anniversary and the service was super nice and friendly. We had to change the food slightly due to intolerances, which worked without any problems. Everything tasted great, we were looked after very well and it was a great end to the day! Nothing beats a first impression - language barrier aside, wife and I came in at an awkward time for some wine (1600) with no intention to eat. After asking for wines, we let the waiter (amazing guy) take care of us with 5 of his best choices. He asked for our favorite notes of wine (personally: dry, less acid, little fruity) wines and brought 5 out. All good. After .5L of wine (more if the pours showed anything), we had to order the food. So helps that the special was a tenderloin and they had Wiener schnitzel. delicious AF. 100% recommend this place for a wine drink or tasting, and even their food. Props to our hotel lady for recommending it.

I ate here with my family on the recommendation of a friend. It was busy, but the service was very warm and accommodating and we really liked the food. My husband especially thought the mushroom risotto was outstanding. The kids were also very happy. Gladly again !

I rarely give less than 3 stars, but the service was so subpar that I can't avoid it, even though the food deserves at least 4 stars. We were really looking forward to our first visit, but apparently Waiters run all over the place like cannibalized chickens, everyone does everything, but nothing right. If it takes more than 15 minutes to get your wine in a wine house that isn't overcrowded, it doesn't deserve the name. In any case, we won't be coming back again.

Ein nett, modern und zweckmäßig eingerichtetes Lokal mit relativ großem Außenbereich. Es gab diverse Probleme bei unserem Besuch, u. A. Wartezeit, Temperatur und Qualität der Speisen; letztlich sogar der Kassiervorgang. Ein Gespräch mit dem Chef des Lokals klärte uns dann darüber auf, dass die Schuld für diese Unzulänglichkeiten allesamt bei uns Gästen zu suchen sind. Kritikfähigkeit = null Kurz und knapp: Fachkräftemangel ........ein weiterer Laden mit fragwürdigem Konzept, undefinierbarem "Cross over" in allen Bereichen der Karte - durchaus marktüblichen, aber dennoch überhöhten Preisen. Merke: Eine schlechte Dienstleistung würde gepaart mit freundlichem Auftreten des Personals vom Gast wesentlich positiver aufgenommen.

Everything was perfect, although not everything was actually perfect. This was due to the really courteous, attentive and lovely staff. We had booked a table for two for 7:30 p.m., but unfortunately it was not available at that time. We were warmly welcomed and asked to sit at the bar and invited for an aperitif. Unfortunately, it actually took a little longer until a table was available for us. During this time, someone kept coming by, giving us an update and we were invited back for another aperitif. We found this attention very pleasant and when we finally sat at our table, we were treated to a wonderful meal and a really delicious wine, so we can wholeheartedly recommend the food and wine. We will definitely come back because this restaurant is not only beautiful and the food is delicious, but also the customer is king or queen.

On the recommendation of some friends, we ate at Lehmanns at the weekend. My companion had napkin dumplings and I had the noble mushroom risotto, along with an excellent Pinot Gris. Both the food and the service exceeded our expectations and we would be happy to come back.

We were at Lehmanns with friends, I have to say that the cuisine is one of the best in Mainz. We ate the three-course menu, which is unrivaled for the price of €39. The service was very attentive and friendly and reserved! There is also a very tasty lunch menu. This is how gastronomy should be! I can highly recommend Lehmanns!

Unfortunately, we weren't so lucky during our visit. If you order "herb napkin dumplings with wild mushroom ragout" and then receive 4 slices of baguette (i.e. NO napkin dumplings, and certainly no herbs) - soaked in cream, in which a few fried mixed mushrooms swim, and someone likes that, then that's fine. For 14.90 euros. My friend had the dish "Tabouleh", a cereal bowl with couscous, some tomatoes, green lettuce (rocket?) and parsley - WITHOUT dressing and spices - for 8.90. The terrace is on the parking strip or the street in the form of a wooden platform. The chairs are comfortable and the tables are big enough. Unfortunately, our table was right on the road, the street was unfortunately very busy on a Friday evening and the cars felt like they drove past us by 10 cm. We can't recommend it because we didn't like the food and the ambience was nice. However, the service tried hard. The price-performance ratio is absolutely unreasonable.

Hello, we were guests at Lehmanns on a nice Sunday and ate 2 schnitzels and salad. The food was excellent and the waitress Naira was super nice and accommodating and really took great care of us! Furthermore, the chef Silvio served us personally and gave us very good advice and cooked even better It was really incredibly tasty 😋 We'll definitely be back 😃

We were lucky and got a table on the small terrace. Very friendly and communicative service. As befits a Mainz wine bistro, there is a large selection of regional wines, supplemented by a nice selection of international wines. What came out of the kitchen was also very tasty. After 2 hours and 50 minutes we received our food. The quality of the food is very good, but in no way justifies the waiting time. The service only noticeably acted after three requests. When we ordered wine in the "vinothek"/the "wine bistro", our four desired wines from the wine list were not available, so we were given any alternative. Unfortunately, good service is not a priority at Lehmanns, although we ended up getting a small discount due to the waiting time.

Addition after the 2nd visit: It would be nice if you could use a functioning reservation system like Open Table or something like that. I reserved via the website and also received a confirmation, which, however, only stated that the reservation was clear and did not confirm the dates again. When we arrived there was no reservation and the confirmation was useless. It was my first time at Lehmanns and I was excited because the opinions among my friends were very different. Sunday is currently schnitzel day, so I tried that too and had the chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce and - I thought it was great that you could change the side dish despite the special! - Fried potatoes. The schnitzel was really good - juicy and the breading was nicely wavy, I was very pleasantly surprised. The truffle fries were also delicious, as was the side salad. The wine selection is great, and the price - like almost everywhere these days - is pretty steep. The wine arrived well chilled, which I always find unpleasant when you order a glass of wine in Germany's largest wine region: poured exactly to the exact moment... Service was nice but unremarkable, so not particularly memorable now. It's a shame that the social media pages are not up to date and you can't find the current food and drink menu anywhere online. But all in all a very nice evening.

Better schnitzel than in Vienna!

We were here to end the evening quietly and comfortably and to have a little something to eat. I was expecting a wine bar, but if you had read properly you would have noticed: wine bistro and vinotheque. It's a bit student-style and overall quite open and loud, but you definitely feel comfortable there. Somehow I felt transported back to campus... The service is quick, friendly and just as you would expect in a student bar. The wine list is no surprise. All winegrowers represented everywhere and everywhere in Mainz can also be found here. A pity. Food was okay and the selection was larger than I would expect in a bistro. I didn't expect that the Pulpo in the Pulposalat would come out of a can, but given the price I could have figured it out. In short: everything is pretty good, but more for the U40 age group.

Ate here 3 times, several months apart. Unfortunately I am no longer convinced by the price/performance ratio. Wine prices have risen dramatically and service has declined sharply. Service: Actually all drink orders were mixed up: no sugar with the espresso, still water instead of mineral water, the more expensive Piffchen served instead of 0.2 glass of wine). Dishes were cleared very irregularly and late, glasses were only added after the main course. Overall just very inattentive. In the end we were very strangely told that we couldn't pay by card, but not why. We should please wait 30 minutes. When we asked at the bar, it turned out that the EC device was making an update. That's understandable, but a "we're sorry" or a drink on the house for the waiting time might have been appropriate here. On my last visit in the summer we were completely ignored by service for 1 hour. Food: The 3 course option is great. The desserts and wine were good. But we were disappointed with the quality of the small, bland olives with mediocre bread. Unfortunately, the sauce for the otherwise delicious roast beef was too salty. Ambiance: great, but that alone isn't enough.

I've eaten lunch here twice and it's now one of my go-to spots. The food is really tasty, but the service is where Lehmanns truly shines. The servers are very nice and helpful. I accidentally ordered German champagne, which I didn't like. I didn't complain, as it was my fault for ordering the wrong thing. But when the server brought my check, she asked if something was wrong with the drink. I explained that it was my mistake and not to worry about it, but she insisted on bringing me a different drink. She came back with a delicious white wine, which I happily drank instead. I loved the Jägerschnitzel (the accompanying fried potatoes are the best fried potatoes I've ever had) and the crème brûlée. Definitely ask for a wine recommendation as well. The lunch prices are fantastic, and the lunch menu changes weekly.

As a native of the Old Town and a regular restaurant-goer, within just a few years Lehmann's has become an indispensable culinary institution in Mainz. For what reason? Firstly, there is no restaurant of this level that has such brilliant opening hours and is there for guests around the clock, practically all week. For many restaurateurs, working life only begins at 5 p.m. and you don't feel like you're being noticed as a working person with hunger and good taste. It's different here: they're open from morning until night and offer outstanding food seven days a week. Which brings us to the second point: map and cuisine. Both are absolutely brilliantly put together. The map is diverse, but not overloaded. It contains international dishes and German cuisine. From the Strindberg to the brilliant bouillabaise risotto to the schnitzel classic. The cooking is at the highest level - greetings to Silvestro! And the prices range - especially for the fantastically balanced lunch menu - from under 10 to over 30 euros. There is something for the quick lunchtime cravings and hungry children as well as for the connoisseurs of the evening dinner. The range, pricing and quality of the food are unparalleled in and around the old town. Bravo for that! The whole thing - third point - is accompanied by a modern, loving and unpretentious service that is always - and I really mean ALWAYS - extremely friendly, helpful and personable. You don't experience stiff-necked service robots or rude waitresses that make you feel like you're replaceable - on the contrary: you're served in the most polite way and cared for in a humane way. As a family, friends and work colleagues, we are now incredibly happy that Lehmann's exists. I still remember how we spent years thinking about where we could still go out for a decent meal at a good price - without bad opening times, convenience products, varying quality, long journeys or unfriendliness to families. Lehmann's is the answer - and better than all of that. We were there for baptisms and communions, met with our old professors there, with the family, guests from Kanda - no matter what the occasion, Lehmann's is always the right setting and everyone is fed, happy and comfortably looked after at good prices and go home with a delicious aftertaste. There is no restaurant like this anywhere else. Please continue!

Mit Freunden habe ich das Lehmanns besucht. Ich war sehr positiv von der großen Weinauswahl überrascht. Das Essen war ein Gedicht. Wir bestellten uns einen 3 Gänge Menü zum fairen Preis und hoher Qualität. Wir bedankten uns herzlich beim Koch. Zum Nachtisch gab es Créme brûlée und einen saftigen Brownie. Der Service war sehr eifrig und aufmerksam. Ich kann jedem nur Empfehlen selbst die Erfahrung zu machen :)

Wirklich zum empfehlen, schmeckt gut das essen. Restaurant ist sehr gemütlic, auch zu dem service und dem Koch kann ich nur Lob aussprechen! Essen kam ohne lange wartezeit, sehr freundliches personal und bin gerne wieder hier zu Besuch!

Top zum empfehlen! Die Schnitzel waren besonders lecker und wurden vom Koch persönlich angereicht, welcher auch einiges erklärte und erzählte über vielerlei Gerichte was ich sehr interessant fand. Sehr sympathisch auch der service und sonntags ist hier schnitzel tag (da ist die auswahl größer) also top zu wissen für jeden schnitzel fan :D

Die Einrichtung vom Lokal ist modern und nett eingerichtet, jedoch wirken die Kunstwerke und Fotografien eher wie ein Museum oder einer Galerie, statt einem Restaurant. Die Bedienungen sind alle sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend, man wird sehr gut und schnell bedient. Der Service bekommt von uns eine volle fünf Sterne Bewertung, nur dafür würden wir definitiv wieder kommen. Das Essen ist für den Preis zwar lecker, jedoch kein Feinschmecker Restaurant weshalb die Preise nicht nachvollziehbar sind. Wir hatten Bratkartoffeln die wenigstens nicht frittiert wurden, jedoch haben sie nach kaum einer Würzung geschmeckt. Aber auch das Rinderfilet war nur mittelmäßig und die Beilagen zu klein. Für Drinks eignet sich Lehman’s ausgezeichnet, es gibt guten Wein und Getränke. Den netten Bartender hinter der Theke und davor möchten wir besonders loben. Um uns erneut von dem Preis Leistungsverhältnis zu überzeugen könnten wir zum Mittagstisch herkommen.

Sehr schönes Lokal, Essen wie immer Top! Service sehr sympathisch. Schnitzel mit pommes Portion war super lecker! Brownies sind sehr fluffig und man merkt hier wird mit herz gekocht und serviert!

Wow einfach Wow! Die Weinschorle gefiel mir besonders und die Vorspeise (Caesar salat) wurde mit viel Liebe zubereitet! Stimmung war super und bei dem Hauptgang war ich ordentlich überrascht, das Roastbeef war genau wie ich es bestellte! Bei dem Creme Brulee zerging mir der Mund 🤩 Die Servicekraft war freundlich und sehr Aufmerksam! Die Allgemeine Stimmung gab einen das Gefühl sehr aufgehoben zu sein. Hier komme ich gerne öfter hin :)

Super leckeres Essen, man merkt das hier noch selbst gekocht wird 😋 😋, toller Service, sehr höflich und zuvorkommend. Ich hatte die Currywurst, meine Begleitung Orient Express und danach eine Creme Bruilee

In Mainz gibt es echt wenige Restaurants die gut sind und hier kann man echt gut essen gehen 👌 Essen Service alles echt top 👌

Das Lehmanns ist ein wunderbarer Ort um zu jeder Gelegenheit einzukehren. Moderne Küche, gepaart mit absoluter Gastfreundschaft! Hier ist man gerne Gastgeber! So Orte werden immer seltener. Eine wahre Oase in Mainz ✨🎉
