Le Buffet in Hamburg

Ate here today. We enjoyed and enjoyed it. Large selection for every budget. The seating-dining areas are well spaced and divided with walls. Nice view of the Alster. Large wine selection.

Go on your way. Average food, high prices. A glass of water costs more than €10 per liter. Staff not attentive.

The food was ok and the view is quite nice. But there were several mice running around and judging by the other comments, the problem has been known for several years and clearly nothing is being done about it.

I always come here for lunch when I'm in the area. I enjoy eating the delicious antipasti and salads every time. The selection is great and I always really like it. The staff is always friendly. Overall, a nice and relaxed atmosphere, including a view of the Alster. Price-performance is great! p.s. Those who complained that they expected something better for the Alsterhaus... just need to go a few steps further (same floor). Only the price of the food is correspondingly higher ;).

I really liked the restaurant in Alsterhaus, the fantastic view of the Alster and a successful atmosphere. The service is like in a Galeria Kaufhof restaurant. Self-service at the counter, food like cake 🍰 and coffee ☕ The cashier is very nice and friendly and there are lots of seating options at numerous tables. But the most beautiful corners are the windows facing the Alster.

I have enjoyed going to restaurants for breakfast for many years! Today I was surprised at the price increase!

We ate there today. Each had rump steak from salt marsh beef. The steak was of poor quality, very thick layer of fat and stringy. Unfortunately, the side dishes were only lukewarm because they were from the buffet. In total, with two beers, we paid €52 for the inferior quality. Wouldn't have been bad given the good quality we expected. The view of the Alster is nice, but the view of the windows and walls is not, everything seems a bit “run down”.

Food was OK, but completely overpriced...Staff very friendly. And unfortunately, unfortunately the mice are still running around here. Only the view of the Alster scores points, but we won't eat here again!!!

Extremely rude staff. The menu was not clearly explained, none of the staff could explain it in English, nor were there any English signs. When a mistake was inevitably made two of the staff in the kitchen kept repeating, that we must pay and then proceeded to grab my plate and remove one of the food items to put it in another. I guess so that it would be clear we should pay more. This could have been done in a politer way and even in German their attitude was anything but nice. The only thing that salvaged the experience was a very kind lady at the cashier. Other than that, it is unacceptable for people working service to not be able to accommodate non-german clients.

Great view of the Alster. But that's about it. Completely overpriced for average cafeteria food.

I have just woken up from surgery and sent my husband to get me food. He was filming the buffet so I could se what the options are. The rude employee was very aggressive towards him telling him that it was not legal to take pictures. My husband tried to explain the situation but met zero empathy.

50€ for two small Pepsis, a curry “wurst” (if you can even call it a sausage), a pepper steak and side dishes. The sausage tasted more like water and had a consistency reminiscent of a roll soaked in water, the steak was okay and freshly fried in front of the friendly chefs (the price was €16.95), we had two minis in total Salad plate with antipasti and also two small side plates with a few spaetzle and fried potatoes. The fried potatoes had probably been lying around for a few minutes longer and the spaetzle were swimming in a butter/oil mixture. For the price we definitely won't eat there again. There are two stars only because the ceiling scores somewhat in terms of ambience.

the restaurant and the service was an absolute disaster. Of course, I wasn't expecting much from the food, but I was still hoping for a good lunch. When it comes to service, you can't speak of service because the employees are disrespectful, discriminatory and very unfriendly. No thanks!

A stark contrast to the expensive department store in which the restaurant is located. There are mice running around between the tables in the restaurant, we saw several of them at the same time. We definitely won't eat here again. The problem seems to have been known for years, but it probably doesn't bother anyone.

Food was tasty but overpriced. While we were eating, three mice ran around the restaurant the whole time. When we asked the staff about it, we were told that the problem was known. I read in the comments that the problem existed three years ago. With such a fancy shopping center and expensive food, this is an absolute no go! Not recommendable!

It's a shame, such a nice restaurant, but the quality of the food is not good at all. If only the food was at least still warm.

Very beautiful ceiling design with huge glass mosaic.

Unfortunately we didn't like the restaurant at all. The currywurst was almost cold and the casserole was very greasy. I expect high quality food in such a great department store. The employee was very nice.

Prices are too high for the quality of the food. Steaks were incredibly chewy and had a lot of unmelted fat. Potatoes were dry. The only thing that we could recommend (from what we ate) is apple strudel, it was quite delicious. In conclusion, just choose another place if you want to eat.

The view of the Alster is great. The seating is not too tight. A relaxed and quiet place!

You have to have been there before, very nice restaurant, if you're lucky you have a window seat with a view of the Inner Alster. Food, drink, delicious and not overpriced.

Concept like Höffner in Hanover... Quality isn't much better either. Vegetables lukewarm, crust on the sauces. The cake was good.

Schönes Restaurant, leckeres Essen zu fairen Preisen. Tipp: Falls man einen Sightseeing Tag in Hamburg geplant hat, kann man beim Rathaus anfangen, dann hier im Alsterhaus essen und dann gestärkt den Rest des Tages angehen.

Das Restaurant in der obersten Etage des Alsterhauses hat außer der tollen Aussicht auf die Alster leider nicht mehr viel zu bieten. Das Essen hat qualitativ und geschmacklich deutlich nachgelassen, die Auswahl am Buffet war eher einfallslos, die Beilagen fad, die Soße in den Schalen zum Teil verkrustet. Die Preise sind dabei unverändert hoch geblieben. Aus dem gehobenen Restaurant ist leider eine gewöhnliche Kaufhauskantine geworden. Sehr schade!

Ich war am 27. Juli 2022 in diesem Restaurant zum Mittagessen. Um 13:54 Uhr war ich an der Kasse um das Essen zu bezahlen(Genaue Uhrzeit, um dem Betreiber des Restaurants die Gelegenheit zu geben, den Mitarbeiter zu ermitteln ). Mein Mittagessen kostete 22 Euro 95 Cent. Ich wollte der Frau an der Kasse 53 Euro geben, da ich keinen 20 Euroschein hatte und erwartete 30 Euro 5 Cent als Wechselgeld zurück. So habe ich ihr 3 Euro und anschließend einen 50 Euroschein gegeben. Die Kassiererin hat das gegebene Geld gleich in die Kasse getan, anstatt das Geld oben zu behalten, bis der Bezahlvorgang abgeschlossen ist. Als Wechselgeld hat sie mir nur 5 Cent gegeben. Dann habe ich ihr gesagt, dass ich noch 30 Euro zurückbekomme. Die Kassiererin hat behauptet, dass ich ihr nur 23 Euro gegeben habe. Ich bin ganz sicher, dass ich zuerst drei Euro und 50 Euro Schein, sogar dazu ihr sagend, dass sie noch einen 50-Euro-Schein bekommt, ihr gegeben habe. Leider gab es keine Zeugen. Das ist das erste Mal, dass ich so eine Erfahrung gehabt habe. Möglicherweise handelt die Kassiererin in völliger Absicht. Dann sprechen wir über Betrug. Nach dieser Erfahrung kann ich im Restaurant Alsterhaus nicht mehr essen gehen. Wer dort isst, sollte beim Bezahlen an der Kasse sehr aufpassen. Ich empfehle, das Geld passend zu zahlen oder dafür zu sorgen, daß das gegebene Geld außerhalb der Kasse bleibt, bis man das Wechselgeld passend zurückbekommen hat. Am 19.09.2022 habe ich 30 Euro doch zurückerhalten. Das war ein Fehler von der Kassiererin. Vielen Dank für die Wiedergutmachung.

Schicke Möbel, schicke Einrichtung, durchschnittlich freundliches Personal aber keine frischen Speisen, Salat/Gemüse trocken, Fisch riecht fischig...Lachs nicht richtig gebraten, Kartoffeln lauwarm, lieblos angerichtet, teuer, weite Wege, unpraktisch und am Ende darf man noch den Tisch selbst abräumen. Zu diesen Preisen kann man woanders mehr als gut speisen und spart sich Stress, Geld und bekommt mehr Frische auf den Teller ...

Eines der besten Galeria Restaurants. Tolle Auswahl und sehr angemessene Preise. Besonders das Asiabuffet kann ich empfehlen. Schöne Aussicht auf die Binnenalster.

Einfache Kost, aber feiner Blick über die Alster.

Ich war schon ein paar Jahre nicht mehr hier...hat sehr nachgelassen leider...Lachs dauerte 10 Minuten, Bedienung war unmotiviert, das Gemüse war inzwischen laukalt, die Preise sind haarsträubend...am nettesten die Damen am Empfang und am Toiletteneingang....

Sehr große Auswahl am Buffet. Gute Qualität. Schöner Blick auf die Alster.

Grosse Auswahl an kalt warmen Speisen

Befinde mich gerade noch im Restaurant. Bis auf die Dame an der Kasse und dem Herrn hinter dem Frühstück, wirkten sämtliche Mitarbeiter lustlos und demotiviert. Insbesondere der junge Mann, der das Rührei für eine Person in ca 100 ml Öl briet. Obwohl kaum Gäste im Restaurant waren, werden die Tische nicht abgeputzt. Das einzig Gute ist die Aussicht auf die Binnenalster und das wirklich leckere Croissant. Auch vermisste ich, dass neben den Preisen für die Frühstücksteller auch die Anzahl der includierten Artikel angegeben wurde. Restaurant ist nicht zu empfehlen.

Alles bestens. Wir haben frische Matjes gegessen. Sehr lecker.

Bei der Lage und dem Flair hätte ich mehr erwartet. Das Essen war naja nicht wirklich schlecht und auch nicht gut. Auch wenn’s schön angerichtet wird ist der Geschmack nicht wirklich überragend. Manches einfach viel zu versalzen. Anderes wiederum zu fad.

Good concept, poor execution. The food was extremely average if not below. My friend and I had one of the worst pasta we've had in years here. Would recommend this place only for coffee and the beautiful view.

Wer möchte Kantinenessen auf dem Niveau eines pleitegehenden Unternehmens irgendwo in Brandenburg essen? Für diesen Gourmand empfehle ich dringend in das LeBuffet im Alsterhaus zu gehen. Nach dem Genuss der Wirsingroulade mit Specksauce (ich bin mir nicht sicher ob von Knorr o. Maggi) und Kartoffelpüree (Herkunft s. Sauce) würde mich interessieren ob es daran liegt, dass man für gelernte und fähige Köche nicht genug Geld ausgeben möchte oder ob es an der guten Aussicht liegt, dass man auf genießbares Essen verzichten muss/kann. Glückwunsch an die Besitzer der Kette. Offensichtlich ist es diesen gelungen das ökonomische Wunder des MiniMaxsystems zu entdecken.

Sehr lecker! Preis Leistung wirklich gut. Sehr freundliches Personal. Gute Auswahl. Und natürlich schöner Blick über die Alster.

Ausblick zur Alster und Lage phantastisch. Beim Essen ist man ja bemüht, möglichst viel vorzuhalten und nimmt Abstriche in der Qualität hin. Nicht gerade vertrauenswürdig war, als dann eine Maus durch den Restaurant-Sitzbereich lief. Und die Maus bliebt dort einfach auch und es schien, als ob das kein Einzelfall war......
