I really liked the food + service by nice people

I reserved a table for 2 people on Friday. The message came via email stating that the reservation is only valid if confirmed. I'm still waiting for a confirmation or a rejection. That's not very customer friendly.

Food is an absolute 10 out of 10. The staff is super friendly and the prices are reasonable. Would love to come back

We got a table here quickly. But if you want to eat at the usual times of 6:15 p.m. to 7 p.m., I recommend making a reservation. Food is super delicious. Service is good. Food came quickly too. We would come again. Negative: no card payment possible.

We stayed at the Augustiner for 3 days. The rooms were very clean, nice and big and, above all, no carpets, which we really appreciated. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Very extensive breakfast buffet👍 We always ate there in the evening. It was sensational and simply recommended.👍

We stayed at the Landgasthof zum Augustiner for a week in July. Great family atmosphere. The service is A1. The rooms are very nice, the restaurant is excellent (tip: onion roast with Allgäuer Kässpätzle). The breakfast is absolutely great: huge selection, varied and very friendly and nice service.

The room, the location and the breakfast service were excellent. However, the tenants are very distant and moderately critical. Nocturnal disturbances in the house made me lose sleep :-(

We visited the restaurant three times during our vacation and were thrilled every time. The mixed salad is very good. All the dishes we tried during our visits were fantastic. Our waiter was incredibly courteous and friendly. And the beer (Augustiner Edelstoff) is for me the best beer ever. 10/10.

Very friendly and competent owner Ms. Bauer is THE perfect hostess. The breakfast is second to none! The room is not large, but offers every comfort, especially a very comfortable bed and the bathroom is also extremely clean. We can highly recommend this hotel and thank you for the good care! Very good food and friendly service.

We had a small room. The bathroom was also very small. No second room key available. There were also no parking spaces at the house. The parking lot was a few minutes walk from the house. For these reasons, I think the price is overpriced at over 80 euros per person per night. The burgers at the restaurant were good according to several people in our group. However, there were also extremely critical comments about the liver dumpling soup: like rubber on the outside and with a hard core in the middle. Cold fries that were taken back after notice and came back heated in the microwave after 1 minute. It seemed to me like a lot of it was TK. The best thing about the house was the breakfast service. The employee was sensationally good. The rooms were clean.

We stayed at the country inn for 3 nights to hike around Oberstdorf. The location is wonderful, everything is within walking distance (city center, train station + bus station, Nebelhornbahn...). Large room with enough space, very clean! The staff and the Bauer family are very concerned about the well-being of the guests and always take some time, even though there is often a lot going on. Everyone is very nice and helpful and you can tell that they enjoy their work. The breakfast is fantastic: very extensive and delicious. The dinner is also excellent: good portions, freshly prepared and of course very tasty. Price-performance is right! We'd love to come back!

Centrally located hotel with very friendly staff, delicious food, good value for money. The Bauer family takes touching care of the guests. Despite the European Football Championship and a full house, no one is sent away. Parked at the counter until a spot becomes available, great. We had four lovely days.

The restaurant is rather inconspicuous from the outside, but very cozy inside. Food is a poem. There are probably not many restaurants in Oberstdorf that are better (of course it's a matter of taste). Any time. The service is also on point and very friendly.

Very centrally located in the city center, so that many facilities can be reached on foot. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful - you feel like you're in good hands. The very rich breakfast is simply amazing.

Why do you only open at 5 p.m. when the weather is good? We stood in front of a locked door twice! Very unfortunate

Finally managed to come here in the fourth year. Since we usually have dinner before 5 p.m., we often walked past here and wished the opening hours were earlier. But now it finally worked out and we weren't disappointed. The choice was a (boneless) brown trout and the schnitzel with a draft beer. Very tasty. The service was on point, with the right saying on their lips, we liked it. The tip could also be paid by card. An important point for us in the age of cashless payments. If the time is right, we would be happy to come back.

The country inn is somewhat hidden in a side street and once you find it you will always come back. The food is simply delicious and is served creatively (order a starter soup 😉). We went to the restaurant spontaneously today and were thrilled by the friendliness and attentiveness of the service. During the conversation it turned out that it was the son of the family-run company - many thanks again, also to the kitchen! We were only here to eat. Had various main courses, all of which were very tasty! The prices are reasonable. The staff was very nice, the restaurant was very cozy.

Super friendly team, you come in and immediately feel at home, you can end the evening in the rustic parlor with delicious food and drinks, the hosts Flutra and Toni are very open and warm.

Perfect accommodation for the ski weekend with my son. Heavenly food, clean rooms and a very warm and family-friendly host family. We were completely satisfied and will definitely come back! My son still talks about Olaf and the strawberry jam ;)

Good Wi-Fi. Limited vegan options on the menu and for breakfast, though we appreciated how the breakfast buffet was lovingly decorated. The lady taking care of the breakfast was friendly and attentive, we felt very welcome with her around. The room was much smaller than we anticipated from the images on booking.com, but were clean and cozy. Some nights the restaurant below was too loud to sleep, and the door/walls didn't dampen the noise from the other guests in the hallway or in their rooms well. Communications with the hotel prior to our arrival were difficult because they never picked up the phone and we had some misunderstandings in the chat on booking.com, though once we were there everybody was very kind and accommodating. The location is great, right on the edge of the city centre, so it wasn't noisy while we could still step out the door and reach everything on foot within minutes.

Any time! We were there last week and would give it 6 stars if we could! Nice staff, great food and clean rooms! We are already looking forward to the next visit! Thank you for your hospitality 🙂

There were 4 people in the restaurant on January 24th, 2024 and were very surprised by the ambience and the fried chicken, which 3 of them had ordered The 4 meals also left nothing to be desired. Service was also great and we will be back next time.

Very nice clean room with bathroom. Friendly people at the reception and in the restaurant. Personally, I found that a small downside was that you had to book the restaurant well in advance and that there was only 1 bottle of water in the room that was not refilled. Coffee and/or tea would have been nice.

I stayed at the Augustiner for 3 nights, nice and cozy single room, the restaurant is great, the service is excellent, the location is unbeatable, right in the middle but quiet, everything within walking distance! Many thanks to the nice lady who prepared a great breakfast every morning!!

Canteen food at a gourmet price. This tourist trap is not about home-style, traditional cuisine, but rather first-class ready-made meals from a tetra pack. Because of the good reviews, which apparently were directed at the previous owners, we unfortunately found our way to this location. In short: moderately friendly service & bland food with apparently no self-produced sauce or side dish - thanks to Maggi and/or Knorr. Other restaurants in the area can do much better home-style cooking for the same price or cheaper. Unfortunately the worst restaurant in Oberstdorf that I was allowed/had to be in so far.

We came from Lower Saxony for the first time to go skiing and enjoy Oberstdorf for a week. We really liked the Landgasthof zum Augustiner in every respect! The location is perfect and central, the rooms were very clean and well equipped, we had breakfast there every morning and dinner too. The food was really wonderfully Bavarian and tasted great! The two hosts were very polite and really human! The staff were also very nice and we always felt in good hands and at home! We would be happy to come back and can only recommend it to anyone who wants to go hiking, skiing or simply relax in Oberstdorf! Thank you and best regards from the north!

Cozy little restaurant. Hassle-free online reservation the day before. Food and service top. People still really cook here. This is no longer a given these days. Relaxed young team. We, in our late 50s, felt very comfortable. My special recommendation: Tafelspitzsulz (starter), surprisingly creative. We will be back!

I had a single room, small but rustic, with solid wood furniture, quite a small bathroom but ok. Breakfast varied and delicious. The boss, Ms. Bauer, is very nice and friendly. Had dinner once, that was ok, service good, beer delicious.

I was in Germany for a work trip and decided to tag on a couple days to ski the German Alps. Found Landgasthof zum Augustiner online and am absolutely coming back again both to visit Obertsdorf and stay at Langastfhof zum Augustiner. The communication was excellent in advance of my arrival, the room was spotless, location was great for walking into town and to Nebelhorn to go skiing, food was delicious and most of all the staff was friendly and welcoming! Highly recommend!

We were there over New Year's Eve and have been to Oberstdorf very often. We really liked it here. The innkeepers are absolutely nice. The food is of the finest quality - you can tell that a trained chef is at work here. The waitresses and waiters are also so quick and friendly! Price range is totally right. We'd love to come back!

Durchgehend warme Küche 👍 schönes Ambiente, sehr zuvorkommende Bedingungen. Wir waren zufrieden. Das Essen war geschmacklich wirklich lecker und es war sehr schön angerichtet. Einziges Manko war der Preis, knapp 20€ für ein Burger mit Pommes war doch sehr happig. Aber wahrscheinlich den Touri-Preisen angepasst.

Wir waren zwei mal hier und daher auch 4 Sterne. Beim 1. Mal konnten wir noch draußen sitzen, Service war wunderbar: schnell und zuvorkommend. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet, die Käsespätzle waren sehr lecker - der Salat dazu unnötig. Das Cordon Bleu auch sehr gut. Beim 2. Besuch hatten wir eigentlich online vorab reserviert, das scheint aber zu knapp gewesen zu sein. Wir wurden dann an einen Tisch mit anderen zusammen gesetzt (an sich kein Ding), allerdings merkten wir schon, dass man gegen 18 Uhr wesentlich länger auf alles warten muss. Diesmal waren unsere Gerichte auch nicht so lecker. Trotzdem: empfehlenswert!

Super location mit toller Stimmung. Sehr freundliche Bedienung, welche immer top motiviert sind. Essen war toll! Allgemein nichts negatives erlebt nach unseren zwei Besuchen.

Was für ein schöner Aufenthalt in Oberstdorf! Ich fühlte mich im Landgasthof Augustiner während meiner Wanderwoche sehr wohl. Meine Gastgeber waren super nett und haben mich ganz herzlich aufgenommen. Das Frühstück war der Knaller: lokale Produkte (richtig toller Käse!), liebevoll angerichtet und sehr lecker. Danach konnte ich mit Schwung in den Tag starten – was dank der zentralen Lage ganz easy in alle Richtungen möglich war. Ob Bergbahn, (Bus-)Bahnhof oder Geschäfte/Restaurants – alles ist dicht dran und innerhalb von Minuten zu erreichen. Wer abends nicht mehr „raus“ möchte, isst direkt im Gasthof. Reservieren ist dringend notwendig, denn die prima Küche mit lokalen Leckereien ist im Ort ziemlich beliebt. Abends hab ich mich dann auf mein schönes, ruhiges Zimmer gefreut – perfekt zum Ausruhen und Energie für den nächsten Wandertag sammeln. :-)

Hallo, wir waren dort im September 2x Essen. Das Essen war in unseren Augen Top. Auch der Service war trotz eines vollen Brauhauses sehr nett und gut. Wir werden definitiv wieder kommen, auch weil es eines der besten Biere ist.

Wir haben hier nur gegessen. Gesessen haben wir gut, leider dauerte es fast 20 Minuten, bis wir uns da entscheiden, die Speisekarte selber zu holen. Die Getränke dauerten sehr lange. Dann bekamen wir Radler statt dem bestellten Bier. Das Essen war gut !

Wir waren jetzt 5 Tage zu Gast in diesem schönen Landgasthof und haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt! Hier stimmt einfach alles. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön eingerichtet und gemütlich. Es wird großen Wert auf Sauberkeit gelegt! Das Frühstück war immer sehr hübsch angerichtet, reich an Auswahl regionaler Produkte und stets gut befüllt. Wir haben jeden Abend im Restaurant gegessen, da es einfach unbeschreiblich lecker war! Unter anderem habe ich hier das beste Schnitzel aller Zeiten gegessen. Gastfreundschaft ist hier nicht zu toppen und alles mit viel Liebe zum Detail! So macht Urlaub Spaß. Wir waren sicher nicht das letzte mal hier! Ein herzliches Dankeschön an das gesamte Team!

Gutes Essen zu einem fairen Preis

Ich war mit Freunden vor kurzem 6 Tage in Oberstdorf. Von den 6 Tagen waren wir jeden Tag im Augustiner essen, da es uns am ersten Tag so gut geschmeckt hat und die Portionen genau die richtige Größe hatten nach einem langen Wandertag. Ich habe die Rouladen, Burger, Schnitzel und den Zwiebelrostbraten gegessen. Das Essen war Mega!!! Der Service war sehr gut, er war freundlich und aufmerksam Auch die Hotelanlage kann sich sehen lassen. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber und man hatte eine sehr schöne Aussicht.

Wir waren im Augustiner, weil wir zu siebt waren und inzwischen viele Lokale in Oberstdorf keine Reservierungen mehr entgegen nehmen. Der Service für die ersten Getränke vor dem abendlichen Ansturm war freundlich und schnell. Dann mussten wir schon etwas warten, bis wir unsere Bestellung aufgeben konnten und insgesamt hat es eine gute Stunde gedauert vor unser Essen auf den Tisch war. Das haben wir in anderen Lokalen mehrfach deutlich schneller erlebt. Aber leider war das Essen auch nicht so, wie wir es erwartet hatten. Waldpilze haben sich als Champignons herausgestellt, die Soße dazu hat einen starken Eindruck nach Tüte gemacht und die Hälfte des Salates hat eher nach Fertigprodukt geschmeckt.

Tolle Lage, super freundlicher Service und das beste Bier!
