The Wiener Schnitzel doesn't deserve its name. Service bored. This restaurant probably won't be around much longer.

Nice ambience. Good selection of food and drinks. But the schnitzel wasn't good. For the price, I expect a golden-yellow schnitzel with a loose, extensive breading. My schnitzel was dark with thin, sticky breading. Also very greasy. That's too bad. Maybe revise the method of preparation. Then we'd love to come back.

Went here for the company Christmas party and it was very tasty.

Unfortunately, the very friendly but not pushy waitress has to pay for what the chef messes up. And I mean that literally. I'm not even an amateur cook, but I can do a goulash better. You should be able to cut a goulash with a spoon, but here you couldn't do it without a knife and fork. I also had the impression that the plate came from the microwave. The sauce was far from having the creamy consistency that comes from onions and everything was just lukewarm and far too little sauce. Unfortunately you can't give zero stars here. I go to the restaurant because of the food and not because of the service staff. Noooo back here. It's an absolute disgrace to offer something like that.

Nice, the place. We celebrated our Christmas party there. Goose was very tasty, especially the red cabbage, which is often messed up, was sensational, not too sweet, firm, but also clovey and cinnamony.

Unfortunately disappointing. The food was mediocre and not particularly impressive. The service had the typical Berlin rudeness, which seemed inappropriate for the higher price range, which was probably also due to the fact that the staff was significantly understaffed. It's a shame, I expected more. The ambience, however, was very appealing.

We ended up here by chance. The best service we have experienced in recent months. Very professional and yet warm. The beer was tapped perfectly and was at the ideal temperature. The food was very tasty, very well seasoned and nicely presented. Homely atmosphere. Thank you for the lovely evening.

Finally found a great German restaurant in Berlin. Often food in Berlin is really good, but have found German restaurants lack. The service was great, Haus wine was tasty and accommodating to our baby as well! Food was delicious. Look forward to returning

I don't fully understand my predecessor's review. I describe the food as so-called “home cooking”, hearty and good. In German cuisine, people still cook and fry with oil and butter. At this point I recommend vegan food. We find this restaurant extremely cozy. Very nice service and the food was very good. We come regularly now.

I like the rustic atmosphere of the restaurant and the food too. The knuckle was crispy and delicious. Gladly again.

Very nice modern German restaurant. When I sat down, my server brought out some bread with herbed butter and some interesting onions. I order a beer. For my main, I had the “Koenigsberg” meatballs which is a beef & pork mix served in a cream sauce topped with capers and served with some potatoes and a small green salad. It also came with a beet root salad. Very nice. :) Atmosphere was nice. Cool lighting. Service was great. :)

Why is this chef so unfriendly and doesn't say hello to you guests? Food wasn't very good but this stressed cook in particular was very negative.

Ambiance is very nice. That's why we sat there. The service was good. Unfortunately not the food. My son had veal schnitzel, fried in old fat. My and his fried potatoes were burnt, greasy and otherwise tasteless. The matjes was far too sour. My wife had a sauce with the mushrooms that didn't deserve the name

German cuisine lovingly and modernly implemented deliciously. The best Königsberger Klopse in a long time. The vegan dishes also looked delicious. You may be forced to decide whether it really has to be the black pudding or the knuckle... The service was extremely friendly and the atmosphere was peaceful in the lively neighborhood. We will be back, especially with visitors who want to experience German cuisine.

I discovered the restaurant today by chance on the way to the cinema and spent the whole film looking forward to the Königsberger Klopse that was on the menu there. And I wasn't disappointed... The food was delicious, the service was very attentive and friendly... I'd be happy to come back when I'm in the area.

A very cozy restaurant with delicious German cuisine and pleasantly friendly service. Here you can get traditional regional dishes - including vegetarian ones, refined with a touch of sophistication - and you can spend the evening in a beautiful, relaxed atmosphere. We like to come back again and again.

Bad, they cook impossibly badly

This was probably one of the worst food (“Christmas goose”, “Hirschgulasch”) for this amount of money (25-30€) I have had in a long time. The meat was 50% fat. Neither the meat tasted any good nor did the red cabbage/kale. Plus: the portions were ridiculously small for the price. I can well compare since we had this dish many times this Xmas and previous Xmas periods. The restaurant claims to be some Bavarian local restaurant but beer aside nothing is Bavarian in this place. The service is friendly but incompetent. One example: when I told the waitress the food was not good she did not even respond (perhaps she did not understand - but if not she could have asked). We will not come back nor recommend to any of our friends who live locally as we do. Answer/addition: Since I can't answer the restaurant directly, here are three more points: 1) The other waitress also didn't respond to our expression of displeasure. If you say everyone is doing their best, then they are obviously poorly trained by the owner 2) Almost every piece of the venison goulash was riddled with fat and was therefore practically inedible. We are welcome to discuss whether 50 or 30%. The fact is, half the plate was returned uneaten. The goose breast was very small compared to other restaurants, the crust was soft and had a lot of fat, and the meat was sometimes tough. Red cabbage and kale tasteless. 3) the “worst in a long time” is not a “stylistic device”, but a subjective fact from 4-5 times visiting restaurants around Christmas with these dishes in the last few years. Of course, as a reviewer, I have a responsibility and would have liked to have had this discussion in the restaurant if both of your waitresses had responded. First and foremost, as a restaurant you have a responsibility to ensure the quality of food and service is commensurate with the high prices. A suggestion: in many other restaurants the owners or restaurant managers are on site for Christmas because everything should be working at this time.

We ate here on Christmas Day. The food was average but the service was extremely bad. We have never experienced such disrespectful unfriendliness; it was unworthy of a restaurant.

Ich bin schon 2 Mal mit einer etwas größeren Gruppe zum Mittagessen dorthin gegangen. Das Essen wird liebevoll und mit sehr viel Geschmack vorbereitet. Die Arbeiter sind nett, aufmerksam, sehr respektvoll und ehrlich. Ich kann dieses Restaurant nur empfehlen! Mein Liebelingsgericht: Kartoffelrösti mit Lachs und Honig-Senf-Sauce

Super nettes Restaurant mit sehr, sehr guter deutscher Küche. Es gibt auch vegane Gerichtf und die Gans war wirklich fantastisch!

Ich habe das Restaurant durch Zufall entdeckt und ich muss sagen, dass alles an dem Restaurantbesuch gestimmt hat - hatte ich auch noch nie so in der Form. Die Bedienung war sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Die Schweinshaxe, die ich zum Mittag hatte, war deftig und sehr lecker. Das Ambiente hat mich sehr beeindruckt, es ist gemütlich und ich habe das Gefühl bekommen dort länger verweilen zu wollen. Fazit: Ich kann das Restaurant nur empfehlen und würde für die tolle deutsche Küche definitiv wiederkommen.

Nach einem Tag im Mauerpark und dem Flohmarkt, kommt uns ein gutes Essen gerade recht. Einfach mal im Schummerlicht die Seele baumeln lassen. Vielen Dank für die herzliche Bewirtung und das vorzügliche Essen!

Das Ambiente ist rustikal, mit kleinen Details zum schmunzeln. Die Einrichtung passt super zu den Gerichten auf der Speisekarte. Das Essen war lecker und die Portion war mehr als ausreichend.

Für Vegetarier ungeeignet. Wir hatten 2 Vegane und 1 Fleischgericht. Die Pfifferlingsuppe mit Schlagsahne war unaufregend. Die veganen Gerichte sind leider fad und uninspiriert: blanchiertes Gemüse auf Salat. Die Bedienung interessierte sich wenig für uns, taute aber mit der Zeit auf.

Deutsche Küche, sehr gut umgesetzt. Bier mit schöner Auswahl vom Fass, mehr brauche ich nicht. Preise etwas höher, aber auf dem Kiez-Niveau.

Irgendwie nicht recht zum Wohlfühlen. Beim ersten Besuch war der Koch krank, es gab so gut wie nichts zu essen. Beim zweiten Besuch mussten wir uns plötzlich alle umsetzen, weil es kam ein LKW mit Paletten von Nahrungsmitteln und Getränken. Das habe ich wirklich noch nie erlebt, dass so eine Anlieferung zur Haupt--Dinner-Zeit erfolgt und uns den entspannten Abend im Laib & Selig zunichte gemacht hat. Hier scheint es wirklich ein wenig an professioneller Planung zu fehlen.
