Das in einem alten, wunderschönen Bankgebäude befindliche gehobene italienische Restaurant hat uns bei vielen Besuchen in den letzten Jahren nicht einmal enttäuscht. Insbesondere mittags ist das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis gut. Drei Gerichte stehen als Mittagsmenü zur Auswahl und befinden sich qualitativ auf höchstem Niveau. Der Services flott und freundlich italienisch. auch draußen kann man nett im Sommer schattig sitzen. Klare Empfehlung!

Ergänzung vom 18.04.2026: Aus unserer Sicht das beste, schönste und liebenswerteste Restaurant in Bad Homburg. --- Seitdem wir in Bad Homburg wohnen, haben wir verschiedene inhabergeführte schöne Geschäfte und Lokale entdeckt. Ein wirklich prachtvoll, stilecht und dem Denkmalschutz folgend saniertes Restaurant haben wir in der Ludwigstraße 12, direkt gegenüber des Hotels "Maritim", gefunden. Die Schönheit des Restaurants "La Vecchia Banca" ließen unsere Herzen viel höher schlagen. Inzwischen sind wir Stammgäste geworden. Stets waren und sind wir mit unseren beiden kleinen Kindern herzlich willkommene Gäste. Das Essen schmeckt uns vieren immer wieder und manchmal wird sogar ein -je nach Appetit- spontan zubereitetes Essen außerhalb der Karte serviert. Das nenne ich perfekten Service, Kreativität und Liebe am Kochen. Der Inhaber Luciano ist ein sehr freundlicher und liebevoller Gastgeber. Schon deswegen kommen wir immer wieder hierher. Zudem gefallen uns die ausgestellten Gemälde und die jährlich wiederkehrende wunderschöne Weihnachtsdekoration, die von einer großen Detailverliebtheit des Inhabers zeugen. Auch die Toiletten sind von peinlicher Sauberkeit und gutem Duft. Das Restaurant ist eine echt schöne Location und eine super Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken. Ich hatte eine riesige Portion Trüffel-Pasta die wahnsinnig lecker war.

Wir besuchen das La Vecchia Banca seit vielen Jahren und sind immer sehr zufrieden. Das Restaurant ist für unsere Familie ein fester Bestandteil geworden und auch für Business-Meetings sehr gut geeignet. Ein großes Lob an Luciano und Rocco. Beide sind immer freundlich, professionell und aufmerksam. Man fühlt sich direkt willkommen und sehr gut betreut. Der Service ist ausgezeichnet und die Atmosphäre angenehm und stilvoll. Ich habe endlich meinen Lieblings-Italiener gefunden. Hier passt aus meiner Sicht alles - Qualität der Speisen, Wein, Ambiente und das Servicepersonal! Ich habe lange nach einem solchen Italiener gesucht. Alleine schon die Tatsache, dass es sich wirklich um Italiener handelt, die dieses tolle Restaurant betreiben, ist schon eine Erwähnung wert. Dass dort der Fisch noch am Tisch vom Personal filetiert wird oder die Nudeln am Tisch im Käselaib geschwenkt werden, rundet den sehr guten Eindruck ab. Wir freuen uns auf das nächste Mal!

Die Pasta ist köstlich und der Service sehr italienisch (bis auf den Wirt, der ein mürrischer Original ist). Das Ambiente ist elegant – ich liebe dieses Restaurant!

Nachdem uns ein guter Freund das Lokal empfohlen hatte, habe ich für 4 Personen einen Tisch auf der Webseite per Email gebucht. Die Bestätigung kam unmittelbar. Sowie die Überraschung. Das Lokal war geschlossen! Telefonisch war niemand zu erreichen. Auf der Webseite war nach wie vor Offen angezeigt. Es gab keinen Hinweis darauf, dass es nicht geöffnet war. Insofern sind meine 1 Sterne Bewertungen nicht wirklich treffend. Sie zeigen aber meine Enttäuschungen.

Absolut empfehlenswert! Ein wirklich hervorragendes Erlebnis mit erstklassigem Essen und exzellentem Personal. Besonderer Dank gilt Rocco, der den Aufenthalt noch angenehmer gemacht hat.

Delicious Italian food with attentive and friendly service.

Today, we were able to enjoy the most delicious food in a magical setting, ranging from an antipasti starter, to truffle and shell pasta, to wonderful meat (veal) and fish (turbot). All of this was served to us by Rocco, such an incredibly attentive and warm waiter, that not only the heavenly dessert served at the end made the evening perfect. We certainly look forward to returning soon to enjoy another wonderful time. Thank you so much for the unforgettable and delicious evening.

The evening at the restaurant was fantastic. I was there with my wife, and we were able to sample several dishes – everything tasted perfect, and the service was excellent. The ambiance is nice, there is an atmosphere of an old bank. The food did not impress us: vitello tonnato and aubergine were average while the main dish, guinea fowl, was far too sweet with too many apricots.

The restaurant isn't your typical Italian pizza place, but rather more upscale, focusing on high-quality meat, fish, and pasta dishes. Bread, butter, and olive oil are served as a welcome gift, and biscuits are served with coffee. A great addition to the lunch menu, too. The portions are large, both for starters and main courses, and the taste is simply top-notch. I particularly like that the pasta is freshly prepared to order, even vegan or gluten-free if you prefer. There's a lunch menu with three set menus at reasonable prices. The wine list is also excellent: a wide selection that perfectly complements the dishes. The service is always very friendly; you immediately feel welcome, even if you walk in without a reservation. I stopped by tonight for the first time (I'm in Bad Homburg about once a month) and I'm glad I did! The welcome was kind and formal at first, then more openly friendly. I ordered the lamb shoulder, which was delicious, and I asked for a double "second." I think I'll be back soon to try other authentic and delicious dishes. (I live in Italy and don't try to eat at Italian restaurants abroad, but this was a great choice!)

Arrived there spontaneously on Saturday evening, was immediately greeted in a friendly manner by a smaller man, you immediately felt at home. Top risotto con gambas (approx. 15 large animals), wonderfully tempered, with a fantastic red wine from Apulia on the recommendation of the house. Perfetto, gracie. Oh yes, everything was worth the price.

Terrible experience unfortunately, we waited over 30 minutes for the menu and were never asked if we wanted an aperitif. Drinks were never refilled, let alone asked if we wanted to order something. The waitress didn't know who ordered what and had to ask us. We also had to wait almost half an hour for the bill. The food was quite good, but unfortunately you had to wait a long time for it. Wenn man die ehemalige Bankhalle mit ihrer von Säulen getragenen hohen Decke betritt ist man schon beeindruckt. Das Ambiente vermittelt dabei italienische Gelassenheit mit einem unaufdringlichen jedoch immer aufmerksamen Service. Das Essen und die dazu vom Chef empfohlenen Weine waren tadellos. Wir haben den Abend sehr genossen.

Das ist echte italienische Lebensart und hat Stil. Die Küche ist hervorragend, am besten, man lässt sich auf die Empfehlungen der Küche ein, die offenen Weine können alle probiert werden und das Ambiente in der ehrwürdigen alten Bank sucht sowieso seinesgleichen. Auch im Sommer sitzt man hier sehr schön auf der kleinen Terrasse vor der Tür. Ganz klare Empfehlung!

When the main course came, the table had not yet been cleared and clearing the table while juggling the main course is not easy. There were 4 waiters and only one of them worked seriously and kept a rough overview. Unfortunately, the others walked past us without a plan and empty-handed. There should be a head waiter here who gives instructions and leads. We ordered a cutlet of Iberico pork, which tasted OK, but we've eaten better ones. The ox cheeks were super tender and a great reduction. The mixed vegetables tossed in butter were fine. The potato and celery mash was not very seasoned, but there was salt and pepper. However, the two jacket potatoes were very hard and tasted like the day before yesterday. Maybe it's because there was only one cook and one helper in the kitchen (who also served). My criticism should be that we both worked as waitresses in various good restaurants and had a different idea of ​​an upscale restaurant. Trotz dessen, dass nur drei Tische besetzt waren, hat es etwas länger gedauert, bis wir die Karte bekommen haben. Und generell war der Kellner mit anderen Dingen beschäftigt als mit bedienen der Gäste. Es war Mega kalt in dem Restaurant also die Heizung wurde wohl noch nicht angemacht. Ich hab dann einfach die Außen Tür zugemacht, damit es da wenigstens nicht mehr reingezogen hat. Wir würden dort nicht mehr essen gehen

Essen wirklich gut - Service extrem ausbaufähig. In der Preisklasse erwarte ich etwas anderes. Alle wirken gestresst. Beim Filetieren des Fisches wird sich mit einem anderen Gast über die Platte hinweg unterhalten - sehr unhygienisch . Es zieht - trotz Aufforderung wurde die Aussentür nicht geschlossen. Die Bedienung wirkte für uns nicht sehr freundlich und etwas genervt. Unsere Bestellung wurden zudem falsch aufgenommen und wir wurden mehrfach gefragt, was wir bestellt hatten. Das Essen hat jedoch wirklich sehr lecker geschmeckt. Die Preise sind meiner Meinung etwas überteuert.

Super freundliches Personal. Preis/Leistung 👍 Iberco war lecker. Alles ganz frisch zubereitet. Plätze draußen waren auch ok. Die Nachtisch Speisen sind mega.

Is one of the best places you should visit for lunch or diner. There is nothing to tell because everyone is very friendly and the is gorgeous. We had Goat cheese creme brûlée on wild herb salad with pear and pomegranate and parmigiana melanzana.

Even tho they forgot/made a mistake with my reservation, workers were friendly and solved the situation somehow. Food was nice they suggested a good spaghetti with mussels. Decoration is the highlight.

Sehr schönes Restaurant im historischen Ambiente. Dazu perfekter Service und wirklich leckeres Essen. Zu empfehlen für mediterrane Küche auf hohem Niveau. Ebenso wird hier ein Mittagstisch mit wechselnden Gerichten angeboten.

Ich muss sagen, ich habe schon besser italienisch in Bad Homburg gegessen. Das Ambiente ist herausragend, der Service ok; aber nicht der absolute Reißer. Etwas mehr gastorientiert, weniger Arroganz,… und mehr Feingefühl wäre angebracht. … Was die Menü-Abfolge angeht, wäre minimaler, statt Maximum besser. Lieber wirklich gute Meeresfrüchte, die frisch sind; statt Garnelen, die aufgetaut wurden, und an der Schale hängen. Eine Frage des Küchenchefs
