Wonderful restaurant. Great service, great Italian menu, with a strong influence from the culinary tradition of Calabria, beautiful atmosphere.

The evening started with a warm welcome from the friendly staff. The service was consistently excellent – ​​attentive but never intrusive. Our every wish was met and you always had the feeling that you were something very special as a guest. The star of the evening, however, was the chef. The dishes were not only a visual delight, but also a real firework in terms of taste. From starters to dessert, every dish was perfectly prepared. Particularly noteworthy are the homemade pasta, which melted in your mouth, and the tiramisu, which rounded off the evening perfectly. Every visit to La Vecchia Banca is an experience in itself. You can feel the passion and dedication that goes into every detail. It is a place where you can leave everyday life behind and immerse yourself in the culinary world of Italy. A truly wonderful evening that you won't soon forget.

Our favorite Italian, again and again!

Since we have been living in Bad Homburg, we have discovered various owner-managed, beautiful shops and restaurants. We found a really magnificent, stylish and listed restaurant at Ludwigstrasse 12, directly opposite the Hotel "Maritim". The beauty of the restaurant "La Vecchia Banca" made our hearts beat much faster. We have now become regulars. We have always been and are warmly welcomed guests with our two small children. The four of us always enjoy the food and sometimes, depending on our appetite, a spontaneously prepared meal is served off the menu. That's what I call perfect service, creativity and love of cooking. The owner Luciano is a very friendly and loving host. That's why we keep coming here. We also like the paintings on display and the beautiful Christmas decorations that return every year, which show the owner's great attention to detail. The toilets are also scrupulously clean and smell good. We can highly recommend everyone to stop by the restaurant "La Vecchia Banca", eat delicious food and be impressed by the atmosphere. Terrible experience unfortunately, we waited over 30 minutes for the menu and were never asked if we wanted an aperitif. Drinks were never refilled, let alone asked if we wanted to order something. The waitress didn't know who ordered what and had to ask us. We also had to wait almost half an hour for the bill. The food was quite good, but unfortunately you had to wait a long time for it. In general you should expect over 3 hours.

We came to visit spontaneously as walk-in guests and were warmly welcomed. The facade, furnishings and decoration are particularly high-quality and promote a certain expectation of the kitchen. Our expectations were exceeded. The greetings from the kitchen and the beef fillet with truffles are among the best that can be expected for this price level. Conclusion: very consistent, we will be back.

Price / offer: Very good. White wine recommended by the boss, perfect. Food put together on request. Service woke up. Anyone who has something to complain about has little culinary knowledge. All I can say is... next time we visit Bad Homburg we will stop at La Vecchia. Thank you!

Wenn man die ehemalige Bankhalle mit ihrer von Säulen getragenen hohen Decke betritt ist man schon beeindruckt. Das Ambiente vermittelt dabei italienische Gelassenheit mit einem unaufdringlichen jedoch immer aufmerksamen Service. Das Essen und die dazu vom Chef empfohlenen Weine waren tadellos. Wir haben den Abend sehr genossen.

Nach einigen Ausflügen in andere italienische Restaurants in Bad Homburg kehren wir immer wieder hierher zurück, denn das La Vecchia Banca kann es einfach. Das ist echte italienische Lebensart und hat Stil. Die Küche ist hervorragend, am besten, man lässt sich auf die Empfehlungen der Küche ein, die offenen Weine können alle probiert werden und das Ambiente in der ehrwürdigen alten Bank sucht sowieso seinesgleichen. Auch im Sommer sitzt man hier sehr schön auf der kleinen Terrasse vor der Tür. Ganz klare Empfehlung!

My wife and I ate here. The food we ordered was very tasty (pizza 4 types of cheese salad with chicken fillet + 2 × large Cola = 40€). Price performance (that's okay). The ambience of the restaurant (very good). The Waiters should be a little friendlier. We would visit this restaurant again.

This one was good. No question. Very nicely prepared, tasted very good, but unfortunately not really hot anymore. I have to mention the drinks here in connection with the service. Unfortunately. This service was not available. The question about the wine list caused confusion. Finally, we were presented with a book as a wine list that seemed to show all of Italy's wines. No idea what it was, at least not a wine list. On the second attempt to elicit from the waiter which wines he could offer us, we got the answer: “Red and white!” Sensational!!! In order not to prolong the recession - in the end (forgive me, I just have no idea what office the gentleman held there) the head waiter saved us from dying of thirst. Not professionally either, but we were given a white and, listen and be amazed, a rosé wine. Once again a really serious thank you to this Heeren - he had not missed the previous spectacle and it was also very unpleasant. All in all, nothing more and nothing less 2 out of 5!

We chose the restaurant because we wanted to go out for a fancy meal and the website said it was the best restaurant in Bad Homburg. We found a nice atmosphere and the anticipation grew. The greeting from the kitchen was a pumpkin mascarpone cream. We had ordered a wine, it arrived very late. When the main course came, the table had not yet been cleared and clearing the table while juggling the main course is not easy. There were 4 waiters and only one of them worked seriously and kept a rough overview. Unfortunately, the others walked past us without a plan and empty-handed. There should be a head waiter here who gives instructions and leads. We ordered a cutlet of Iberico pork, which tasted OK, but we've eaten better ones. The ox cheeks were super tender and a great reduction. The mixed vegetables tossed in butter were fine. The potato and celery mash was not very seasoned, but there was salt and pepper. However, the two jacket potatoes were very hard and tasted like the day before yesterday. Maybe it's because there was only one cook and one helper in the kitchen (who also served). My criticism should be that we both worked as waitresses in various good restaurants and had a different idea of ​​an upscale restaurant. We like to pay good money for food and service, unfortunately it was just OK here.

Trotz dessen, dass nur drei Tische besetzt waren, hat es etwas länger gedauert, bis wir die Karte bekommen haben. Und generell war der Kellner mit anderen Dingen beschäftigt als mit bedienen der Gäste. Es war Mega kalt in dem Restaurant also die Heizung wurde wohl noch nicht angemacht. Ich hab dann einfach die Außen Tür zugemacht, damit es da wenigstens nicht mehr reingezogen hat. Wir würden dort nicht mehr essen gehen

Essen wirklich gut - Service extrem ausbaufähig. In der Preisklasse erwarte ich etwas anderes. Alle wirken gestresst. Beim Filetieren des Fisches wird sich mit einem anderen Gast über die Platte hinweg unterhalten - sehr unhygienisch . Es zieht - trotz Aufforderung wurde die Aussentür nicht geschlossen. Da gehe ich lieber in die Villa F.....da ist Kunde König!

Tolle Location mitten in Bad Homburg. Das Ambiebte ist stillvoll vom Anfang des letzten Jahrhunderts. Alles ist sehr gepflegt. Das Essen war fantastisch und ist eine Empfehlung wert. Eine 5 Sterne Bewertung hätte ich gerne gegeben, wenn sich das Servicepersonal auch über seine Gäste freuen würde und nicht so zurückhaltend wären.

Wir haben uns das Restaurant "La Vecchia Banca" ausgesucht, da uns eine gute Bekannte dieses Restaurant empfohlen hatte. Das Restaurant ist mühevoll dekoriert, sodass man sich hier wirklich sehr wohl fühlt. Leider mussten wir für unser Essen knapp 45 Minuten warten. Die Bedienung wirkte für uns nicht sehr freundlich und etwas genervt. Unsere Bestellung wurden zudem falsch aufgenommen und wir wurden mehrfach gefragt, was wir bestellt hatten. Das Essen hat jedoch wirklich sehr lecker geschmeckt. Die Preise sind meiner Meinung etwas überteuert.

Is one of the best places you should visit for lunch or diner. There is nothing to tell because everyone is very friendly and the is gorgeous. We had Goat cheese creme brûlée on wild herb salad with pear and pomegranate and parmigiana melanzana.

Even tho they forgot/made a mistake with my reservation, workers were friendly and solved the situation somehow. Food was nice they suggested a good spaghetti with mussels. Decoration is the highlight.

Sehr schönes Restaurant im historischen Ambiente. Dazu perfekter Service und wirklich leckeres Essen. Zu empfehlen für mediterrane Küche auf hohem Niveau. Ebenso wird hier ein Mittagstisch mit wechselnden Gerichten angeboten.

Ich muss sagen, ich habe schon besser italienisch in Bad Homburg gegessen. Das Ambiente ist herausragend, der Service ok; aber nicht der absolute Reißer. Etwas mehr gastorientiert, weniger Arroganz,… und mehr Feingefühl wäre angebracht. … Was die Menü-Abfolge angeht, wäre minimaler, statt Maximum besser. Lieber wirklich gute Meeresfrüchte, die frisch sind; statt Garnelen, die aufgetaut wurden, und an der Schale hängen. Eine Frage des Küchenchefs

Sehr leckeres Essen! Das Tagesmenü ist etwas günstiger und wechselt täglich. Das Personal ist freundlich, verkörpert aber die Preisklasse dieses Restaurants deutlich.
