Good Italian restaurant. Relaxed location at Luisenstrasse 126 in Bad Homburg

We always like to come back! The food is absolutely top notch. In the summer you can sit on the terrace and it is also tastefully decorated inside. The choice of food is varied and there is something for every taste. There is no pizza and that's a good thing. The tagliolini with scallops are simply incredibly good! We are really looking forward to the next visit.

We were served a very tasty meal in the cozy little beer garden! We ordered a starter and pasta as the main course. The boss was very attentive and even asked after the appetizer if a break was wanted. Here you can take your time as a guest. TOP. We will definitely come back to try the pizza.

As always, I was thrilled again. For the starter this time I had ravioli filled with asparagus, which was in keeping with the season - a poem, it tasted so fine and pleasant. Rather inconspicuous from the outside, you will experience warm Italian hospitality inside. We had lunch here and were amazed by the genuine Italian cuisine and impeccable service. The restaurant is definitely recommended.

Hmmmm who would have thought that there would be such delicious Italian here in Bad Homburg. Super nice service, nice decor and pleasant atmosphere. There was already free bruschetta and delicious bread with olive oil on the tables. The menu isn't very long, but it's nice and you can also eat on request. If possible, everything is done for the guest. We felt comfortable and ate well. Be sure to reserve.

Wir haben schon etliche Freunde ins „La Sorpresa“ gelockt, und alle waren begeistert. Vom Essen, vom rustikal-italienischen Ambiente und der fröhlich-lustigen Stimmung, die Giovanni und sein Sohn Eugenio verbreiten. Man hat immer den Eindruck, hier fühlt sich jeder wohl. Kein Chichi, alles ehrlich, alles echt.

Exzellentes italienisches Restaurant mit sehr freundlichen und kommunikati Personal. Die Speisen sind nicht nur sehr gut, sondern auch so, dass man satt wird. Änderungen oder auch neue Ideen werden gerne und offen aufgegriffen, man versucht dem Gast seine Wünsche auch wirklich zu erfüllen. Auch die Preise sind in einem vernünftigen Rahmen, so dass sich auch ein häufigerer Besuch anbietet. Nach unserem Umzug nach Bad Homburg ist das La Sopresa unser Stamm-Italiener geworden.

Sehr freundlicher Familienbetrieb mit angenehmer Atmosphäre, das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend, herzlich und war zu jeder Zeit ansprechbar. Das Essen war super schön angerichtet und sehr lecker. Wir haben dieses Restaurant als Catering für unsere Hochzeit im nächsten Jahr gebucht und freuen uns schon jetzt unseren Gästen die leckeren Speisen von La Sorpresa anzubieten. Joli restaurant, le personnel est extrêmement gentil. Les plats sont délicieux, les produits de qualité, petite bruchetta de bienvenue, un vrai régal. Le restaurant est un peu excentré de la rue principale de Bad Homburg mais il vaut vraiment la peine d'être testé ! Nous y sommes allés entre collègues de travail et nous reviendrons !

War heute zweites Mal innerhalb 2 Wochen da und das Essen war sehr gut!

Wir hatten wir reserviert und mussten diese kurzfristig Anpassen, was jedoch kein Problem war. Schon am Eingang wurden wir freundlich begrüßt und auch am Rest des Abends war der Service toll. Die Weinempfehlung war perfekt und auch das Essen hat allen geschmeckt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir haben am Wochenende mit 70 Personen in der Nähe von Bad Homburg gefeiert und Catering bei La Sopresa bestellt. Alle Gäste fanden das Essen sehr lecker, und zwar alles, sowas findet man leider kaum noch beim Büffet mittlerweile… Also wir sind sehr zufrieden, sowohl mit der Qualität des Essens, als auch mit der Organisation und Betreuung. Viele Dank, die Feier ist gelungen!

Toll, toll, toll. Besser geht es nicht, hohe Qualität in schönem Ambiente mit hochmotiviertem Personal, das gute Laune verbreitet. Wir haben einfach ein Überraschungsmenü bestellt und heraus kam das, siehe Bilder. Der absolute Wahnsinn mit extrem hohen Genussfaktor.

Waren das erste Mal mit Freunden im La Sorpresa, aufgrund der sehr guten Bewertung hier bei Tripadvisor. Und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Sehr schönes Ristorante mit ebenso schönem Ambiente. Man fühlt sich sofort wohl, ein bisschen wie in Italien, und so soll es ja auch sein. Das Essen hat alle Erwartungen übertroffen und war einfach sensationell gut. Wir haben einen neuen Lieblingsitaliener und kommen defintiv wieder .....

Locals and regulars come to La Sorpresa where the dad is the patron and his two friendly sons secure the service. There is an appetizer station set in an old fishing boat and the atmosphere and decoration are country-style Italian. Checkered tablecloth included. All the typical Italian dishes, Vitello Tonnato, Pasta of all kinds, fish, and meat. A friendly place makes you feel at home. They also have a special lunch menu.

Ich hatte meine engsten Freundinnen und Freunde zu meinem Geburtstag eingeladen. Es wurde ein famoser Abend. Das Essen war - wie immer - sehr gut bis hervorragend. Pasta-Favoriten: schwarze Linguine mit Jakobsmuscheln und Spaghettini mit Venusmuscheln. Ich hatte dann einen wunderbaren Osso Buco und auch meine Gäste waren von ihrem Secondo begeistert (Saltimbocca so, wie es sein soll, Kalbskotelett toll). Prosecco und Wein waren sehr gut. Die Bedienung (Senior und Junior) war bester Laune und es wurde viel gelacht. Grazie mille!!!

My friend and I had dinner at this Italian restaurant in Bad Homburg. I am Canadian and my friend speaks fluent German. When we were seated we were told to put our winter coats on the back of our chairs. The waitor spoke very rapidly to my friend in German and did not look at or talk to me once. When he took our orders it was the same attitude. The food was well prepared but we had to wait quite awhile to be asked if we wanted dessert or coffee. When we received the bill the total was 76.50 euros which was fine. We put 90 euros ( one 50 euro note and two 20 euro notes) in the folder which the waitor took and never returned with our change which should have been 13.50. We had no intention of leaving a 13.50 tip on a 76 euro bill especially considering the dismissive and rude attitude. We waited to see if the waiter would return. He did not, we were reluctant to confront him, and we left without anyone saying danke, grazie, just nothing. This experience was appalling and completely unacceptable. I can only think this happened as it was assumed we were " tourists " as we were speaking English at our table. I am a long term traveler to many European countries and this has never happened to me before in any restaurant. Terrible.

The food was terrible, not even the salad was fresh. The Salad tastes much worse than what is normally served at McDonalds. When you sit outside, what you hear is the loud noises from the street. All the friends who came with us were disappointed and we all wonder where the good reviews came from for this restaurant!!

We have been walking-by this place for the last 20 years and never tried it. We made reservation and were seated in the garden. The service was absolutely friendly and helpful. All meals what we ordered were top delicious, nothing to complain about! We found the prices adequate for the quality of service and food. We are going to return for sure, this place is a clear recommendation! To consider: tables outside close to the street traffic can be a bit loud...

Really enjoyed our meal here. The staff was very friendly even though there was a slight language barrier. The staff there seemed to speak mostly Italian and German, though the manager did speak pretty decent English. I speak English, and only a few greeting-level phrases in Italian and German. The food here was really great! We ordered the lasagna as an appetizer. It was honestly really good! The sauce was really superb in my opinion. I saw another reviewer say good, not great. Please tell me what lasagna you're getting so I can try it! I got the carbonara and WOW it was very tasty. It was the original Italian version with just egg yolks and bacon grease as the sauce, but it was so flavorful! My friend ordered the mushroom ravioli and it was also super fresh, hand-made, and tasty. I had the panna cotta for dessert and my friend had the tiramisu. You got a bigger portion of the tiramisu, but both were also yummy! The prices for everyone were quite reasonable as well. If you're in the area, you really should try this place. It's a little slice of Italy in the middle of Germany!

Friendly staff, quite a nice setting inside and self made pasta. They praise themselves of the best lasagna in town. It was very good indeed, but not great. In the Aglio Olio the Gaelic was burnt. Otherwise the food was very good. Would definitely come back.

This resto is recommended by others and triggered us to go. Parking is on the street. There is a terrace where you can sit nicely in the shade. We ordered starters, mains and desserts. All courses were very tasty. We enjoyed the good food and portions. Staff is very kind and will make sure you have a great evening out. Price Quality ratio is (very) good.

Very fresh ingredients and a lovely outdoor terrace. Just down the street from the shopping district. Only have Italian and German menus so it is difficult to order in English. However I just asked for a recommendation for a good daily special. They gave me freshly made home made ravioli where they made the noodles and all of the ingredients. It was very lovely and tasty.

Italian food is not the first cuisine you think of when visiting a small town in Germany, and yet La Sorpresa is, as its name indicates, a surprise. Situated near the center of town, its menu offers a great deal of authentic Italian dishes made with fresh ingredients, from pasta made in a wheel of parmesan, to succulent fish cut and served in front of you. There are also delicious desserts, great coffee and a nice selection of liqueurs and digestives to end your meal. On top of the food, Giovanni (the owner) and his team are really friendly and make you feel at home.
