Doing our annual visit to Duesseldorf this week. One of us wanted tapas, so we landed at this neighborhood place. We ordered 4 tapas and 2 paellas. Everything we had was awesomely delicious, and the service was decent until the end... we were forced to add tips to our bill. Tips were generally not required in the past in Germany or other EU countries, but now the servers would openly ask for tips, and some of them were downright nasty. Can someone please tell me... tips are mandatory in the EU now??? We had a wonderful meal and it was spoiled at the end because a few bucks (15 euros)... what a shame.

Tapas were delicious, but unfortunately completely overpriced. Four small scampi for 12.50 euros… Unfortunately the place was packed to the gills and so it was really noisy. We wouldn't come back again.

We read on a website that this restaurant had the best tapas in Düsseldorf. To be honest, that was a bit disappointing. Another small addition to the restaurant's response. We ate 6-8 tapas and they were all so lala. The Sangria is highly recommended :).

La Taberna Española - A real highlight! We really loved La Taberna Española! The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy, you immediately feel at home. The food was fantastic - authentic Spanish cuisine that you just have to enjoy. From the tapas to the main courses, everything was super tasty and fresh. The service was great, friendly and gave us perfect advice. There is also a great selection of wines that round off the meal perfectly. Definitely worth a visit! We'll definitely come back.

We reserved a table for two people by phone. When we arrived we were served two cards and plates quite quickly. It took quite a long time for the order to be taken. It was quite busy and there were far too few service staff. However, it cannot be the case that you are only served bread and olives in 1.5 hours. The water was completely forgotten. When the croquettes, which were still frozen in the middle, were served after more than 1.5 hours, I just asked for the bill. There was no apology here, but the full second beer and the full wine, which was actually ordered as sangria, were charged. There is a time for good food, everything here is fresh. The question of how the “fresh” food could still be frozen in the middle was not addressed. Never again.

On a recent visit to Düsseldorf, I decided to visit this restaurant because it was near my hotel and the google reviews were impressive. I arrived to a busy restaurant and was greeted with a warm welcome. The menu was extensive and impressive. I ordered a selection of tapas , including tortilla, meatballs, croquettes all of which were delicious as was the wine that the waiter recommended. If you’re in the neighbourhood and wondering where to eat cone here.

I reserved a table by phone 2 weeks ago for July 11, 24/6 p.m. When I arrived at the restaurant with my friend, whom I had invited to dinner for her birthday, we found the door closed. Note on the door: Closed from July 10, 2024 due to vacation. More than annoying!!! If you change your opening hours so spontaneously, you should write down the telephone numbers when making reservations so that you can cancel your guests and save them unnecessary journeys.

Very friendly staff, excellent food

My husband and I ate at La Taberna for the first time today and we were positively surprised, both the quality and the hospitality were top! Highly recommended is the paella, rich in fish and cooked to perfection. We are already looking forward to the next visit!

It was a disappointing experience. We were hoping that we could eat a good paella in this restaurant as it seems to be the specialty of this restaurant too. However, the rice was not cooked through and the palla tasted bland overall. But the worst thing was the rude and inattentive service. In my opinion, anyone who gives us the menu cards without saying a word, doesn't ask if everything is OK and doesn't even thank us for the visit at the end is not in the right job. At least the music was good.

Ordered the Gambas al Ajillo and Rumpsteak with potatoes. The prawns were super garlicky and delicious, and the steak was juicy and tender with crispy potatoes on the side. 🦐🥩🍟 The vibe was cozy and the staff were so friendly. The food is very tasty and “special requests” are no problem. We wanted a paella for 2 people, 1x veggie and 1x meat. We each got our own paella. Top. Portions are good and the service is friendly. Not so nice from the outside, but who cares when you sit inside and eat delicious food. What I found a little bit annoying is that it is very loud - at least when the dining room is full (which is again a sign of the good cuisine!).

Solid classics. Not fantastic but not a let down. Service was great. Wine selection was decently priced. No standout dishes . We went tapas not paella. Maybe next time..

This restaurant must be recommended to everyone who loves not only Spanish food but also great service. From the first moment you feel welcomed, the welcome treat (olives, garlic cream, bread) whets your appetite for more, and the extensive menu will make any lover of Spanish cuisine's heart beat faster. And the associated expectations are then actually met. Every question about the dishes on offer was answered comprehensively and the quality was excellent in all cases. And guests are given time to enjoy their food. The starter is not immediately followed by the main course and then the question of dessert in order to free up the seat or seats as quickly as possible. The extremely friendly staff always react to the guest in a pleasant, reserved manner; It is simply a great pleasure to stay in this restaurant. The fact that you can drink Galician draft beer or one of the excellent wines with your meal increases the enjoyment of your stay. You come as a stranger and leave as a friend. And that's why we're really looking forward to our next visit.

We ate tapas and vegetarian paella. Everything was delicious and we felt like we were on vacation. The highlight was the aioli. Next time we'll try the sangria and also have a schnapps 😉 Very friendly service. We would be very happy to have a branch in Stuttgart.

We had a lovely dinner at this restaurant. The service was a bit slow initially, but they caught up really fast, with a very attentive staff that made sure constantly we had everything we needed. The mixed paella for two was huge and delicious. We had enough leftovers for a lunch the next day. I can definitely recommend this place!

Very good Spanish dishes and friendly staff at the table. We ate a different set of tapas, and everything tasted fresh and good. The wine advised by the waiter was great as well. It's a small restaurant with many tables, so there isn't much space. And when every table is occupied it can become quite noisy. None the less we enjoyed the good food, fine wine and friendly staff.
