We ate there for the first time yesterday. We enjoyed it very, very much, and it was also a visual pleasure. We'd love to come back!

A nice Spanish restaurant. There are also some outdoor spaces. Highly recommended if you want to pass the time until your next holiday in Spain. The tapas were delicious across the board, especially the albondigas and the pork cheeks. The service also left nothing to be desired. We'd love to come back.

Wir haben im Sol y Sombra einen sehr schönes Tapas-Essen genossen. Die Tapas waren sehr lecker. Einziger Nachteil ist vielleicht die Parkmöglichkeit, aber das Essen macht den Nachteil mehr als weg finden wir. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Man sollte aber einen Tisch reservieren. Kommen sehr gerne wieder.

The food came quickly. Some tapas were oversalted, others were not seasoned at all. There was too much garlic in the aioli. Otherwise delicious. Service was nice but inattentive. You could certainly do more with the ambience. The furnishings are not harmonious. Unfortunately the terrace wasn't open. Neither was the toilet, you had to go to the neighboring house.

So, I had to think for a few days about whether to write this review or not. In the end I decided to go for it and hope that the employees at this store will think about it. We were there for a friend's birthday and were really looking forward to it. I have a lot of experience with Spanish restaurants and I thought it would be really good. First we ordered drinks and appetizers. Everything was good until and so was the staff. What irritated me was that you were served by different waiters even though that shouldn't be the case. At least that's what I know from professional Spania. We ordered main courses and I had rump steak. When it comes to steak I can definitely have a say but this time it was a complete disaster. When I got my steak, I of course cut it in half to make sure it was medium rare. When I cut through the meat I was genuinely shocked, and when I mean shocked I really was. It looked like a piece of plastic and was completely raw on the inside. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of it. Of course I asked a waitress about it and she told me that she would swap it. Now comes the bomb. That was amazing. The waitress comes to me very cheekily and wants to explain to me what medium means. She had sliced ​​my rump steak to show me that it was medium rare. I really had to swallow at this point. The meat looked like plastic and I thought she was going to show me how I wanted my meat and then I noticed that it was my steak and it didn't look anything like meat. She then told me that there was no longer any rump steak, which of course explains why it was like that. I can put my hand in the fire that the cook simply took the meat out of the freezer and fried it. That's why I ordered Argentinian fillet and you can see the picture there. I was just disappointed. The waitress came to me again to check if everything was okay. I showed her the meat and told her she should make up her own mind about it. She then replied, and I quote: “haha I didn’t cook it”. Without any apology. And I think as a waitress you present the chef and it was definitely not professional from the employee. And it happens when every time you are served by someone else. In the end the restaurant also wanted to charge for the steak, which I found very disastrous. Of course it was another waitress who wanted to settle the bill and had no idea what we got. We showed her the pictures and she said she wouldn't charge for it. So appeal to the chef. You don't serve every last piece of meat to customers. Please change your method with the waiters. Every waitress should be given her own area to better deal with the situations.

A touch of Spanish flair here in this restaurant in the middle of Düsseldorf, how you can sit outside in the sunshine, enjoy the weather and look at the people. The prices are moderate and the food tastes very Spanish very fresh thank you very much. Mucha's Gracias!

The food is very average, nothing special. There could be more flavor and/or sauce with the different dishes. The sangria was not very good and did not sit well in my stomach. The service was very friendly and attentive. We don't think we will return for the average food with above/average prices.

We reserved a table based on the good reviews. Unfortunately we were completely disappointed. The service was absolutely inattentive, so much so that you had to get the card yourself, even when asked. The tapas themselves were nothing special either. As an example: the fried eggplant consisted of 99% only fatty breading, the main component was practically non-existent. The best thing of the evening was the Tinto Verano. We definitely won't be coming back and wouldn't recommend the restaurant either!

I can only give 5 stars here, I would like to give more :-) The reservation was problem-free, when we arrived we were greeted very warmly. The service was very attentive and super nice! We were recommended special tapas of the day, which we then ordered. And it was worth it! They were very tasty! The recommended wine went very well, after which we ordered some delicious tapas. It was an all-round successful evening with delicious tapas! We will be back. We were fed up in a very nice atmosphere with lots of delicious tapas, with friendly service at absolutely fair prices!

Finally a Spanish restaurant like we know from Andalusia. The welcome was open and warm - typically Spanish. The atmosphere is very cozy. And the food…..hmmm…everything was delicious. We tried many tappas from the extensive menu and can really recommend everything. Big compliments to the kitchen. The prices are top for this excellent food. Auf Geschäftsreise in einem Hotel in der Nähe abgestiegen. Deshalb ein angenehmes Restaurant in der Nähe gesucht. Und gefunden. Gutes, durchschnittliches spanisches Restaurant. Solide Tapas, nicht überdurchschnittlich gut, aber ein "Everyday Restaurant", in das ich durchaus wieder gehen würde. Boquerones fritos sehr lecker.

Restaurant mit ausgezeichneten Tapas! Jeden Tag gibt es auch 3 Tapas-Specials! Der Wein ist super und vor allem das Personal sehr freundlich. Generell etwas teuerer, aber Preis-Leistung ist meiner Meinung nach total in Ordnung 🍷

Leckere Tapas aber Portion zu klein für das Geld. Sonst Okay. Haben uns sehr Wohlgefühl.

Geschmacklich nicht schlecht nur leider sind die Portionen nicht für einen bayrischen Magen geeignet. Leider hat es nicht für ein Foto gereicht, das Essen war zu schnell inhaliert.

Ein rundum gelungener Abend. Obwohl wir keinen Tisch reserviert hatten, wurden wir sehr herzlich empfangen. Wir bekamen einen Tisch direkt an der Bar, was wir auch sehr begrüßten. So kennen wir das auch von den typischen Tapas Bars in Spanien. Man merkt , dass die Inhaber mit Leib und Seele für das Restaurant leben. Wir entschieden uns für ein paar Tapas und das Rinderfilet. Sehr köstlich….

Unsere Erfahrung im Sol y Sombra Restaurant war einfach fantastisch. Wir haben eine breite Auswahl an Tapas genossen und jedes Gericht war köstlich. Die frittierten Sardellen waren knusprig und lecker, die Tortilla war perfekt zubereitet, die Hähnchenspieße zart und aromatisch, und die Datteln im Speck waren ein Geschmackserlebnis. Was den Besuch jedoch wirklich besonders machte, war die äußerst freundliche Bedienung. Das Personal war aufmerksam und sorgte dafür, dass wir uns wie zu Hause fühlten. Zum krönenden Abschluss genossen wir einen Bombon, eine exotische Kaffeespezialität von den Kanarischen Inseln, die uns begeisterte. Wir werden definitiv wiederkommen, um diese kulinarische Reise zu wiederholen. Das Sol y Sombra ist ein verstecktes Juwel, das man unbedingt besuchen sollte.

Haben für je zwei Calamares mit 4 dünnen Scheiben unreifen Tomaten und Pommes extra zu zweit 70,00 Euro gezahlt. Die Calamares waren zäh wie Kaugummi und wir finden für ein Strandrestaurant einfach überteuert.verstehe die tollen Rezensionen nicht!

Wir waren heute das 1. Mal im Sol y Sombra. Beste Aioli die ich je in Düsseldorf gegessen habe, Paella 🥘 sehr lecker, alles war sehr zufriedenstellend, wir kommen auf jedenfall wieder

El sitio está genial decorado. Pepe no puede ser más amable (igual que el resto del personal). Pero sin ninguna duda hay que hablar de la comida. Pedimos tapeo: carrillada, papas, croquetas y las bolsitas de calabacín. No sabría qué plato estaba más bueno. Calidad inmejorable y sabor auténtico.

Estábamos dudando si probar un restaurante español en la ciudad, y desde luego ha superado todas nuestras expectativas. Sol y sombra ofrece una gran cantidad de tapas y platos variados de gran calidad con un precio muy competitivo. Convierten el restaurante en un pequeña España dentro de Alemania, con un dueño simpático y muy atento. Volveríamos sin duda!!

Good food and service. Sardines were a nice surprise flavor wise. Cured meats were excellent, especially the iberico. Small plates as you would expect.

Sol y Sombra, tolles Essen und sehr freundliche Bedienung. Bestes spanisches Restaurant in Düsseldorf. Wirklich nette und gemüdliche Location und im Sommer mit Außenterasse. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Preise wie im Freudenhaus. Nur der Service ist nicht annähernd wie dort. Einfach zu teuer für die Speisen und deren Qualität. 20% weniger wäre angemessen.

Kleines, einfaches Lokal mit super Tapas! Einer der wenigen echten Spanier in Düsseldorf.

Es war ein angenehme Lautstärke, nicht zu laut. Bilder und Accessoires aus Spanien. Schöne dunkle Tische und Stühle.

Super god, engageret og hurtig service. Har spist her to gange på vores ferie i Dusseldorf og begge gange fik vi en skøn oplevelse og noget god autentisk spansk mad og tapas.

Super hyggelig, med engageret og vedkommende betjening. God mad fra varieret spisekort. Absolut et besøg værd. Vi fik Paella og svinekæber. Næste gang skal vi prøve deres tapas.

Alles super, wir sind inzwischen Stammgäste. Man kann getrost alles aus der Karte wählen und wird nicht enttäuscht. Besonders lecker und zu empfehlen sind die Iberischen Schweinebäckchen, die Tortilla und die Paella. Der Besitzer und sein Team sind super nett. Und auch für unseren Hund findet sich immer ein guter Platz.

Ein wirklich nettes Restaurant. Essen war leider bei uns lauwarm. Den Hamburgern fehlte ein Soße, Ketchup...waren trocken. Die Datteln im Speckmantel waren sehr lecker.....zu empfehlen 👍

A pocos minutos de Kirchplatz se encuentra este restaurante de comida española. El personal de diez, muy atentos y simpáticos. Respecto a la comida, la carta es muy amplia y hay muchas tapas, recomiendo la carrillada y los boquerones fritos, y como plato principal el bacalao. De los mejores restaurantes españoles en Düsseldorf, muy recomendable🙌🙌

Se merece más que 5 estrellas. La comida un plato más rico que otro, lo mejor guiarse por la recomendación de los mozos que nos han elegido 2 platos sorpresa y fueron los mejores. La paella merece una mención especial. Vinos muy buena calidad y los postres también. Pero lo que merece una mención especial es la atención de los mozos. Hacen que te sientas muy a gusto y como en casa. La cocina había cerrado y ellos mismos nos cocinaron el postre. Increíble todo, súper recomendado 😊

Wir waren spontan da aufgrund der guten Bewertung. Wurden nicht enttäuscht, wir haben uns auf die Tipps vom Kellner verlassen (war vermutlich auch der Eigner). Die Tipps waren hervorragend. Die Nachspeise Vorspeise Himmlisch. Die Paella schmeckt wie on Spanien!

Kleine Portionen. Entsprechend zu teuer. Service okay. Aber es gibt viel bessere, günstigere, gemütlichere und authentischere Locations in Düsseldorf.

Nicht so spannend. Frische Zutaten, gute Zubereitung. Leider nur sehr überschaubare Portionen und zu wenig bis gar nicht gewürzt. Dafür sind die Preise zu hoch. Nüchtern und lieblos eingerichtete Räumlichkeiten, wirkt etwas heruntergekommen. Sehr freundliches und flinkes Personal hat den Abend dann doch noch gerettet.

Wir haben das Restaurant aufgrund der sehr positiven Bewertungen unter der Woche abends besucht und waren zunächst positiv überrascht: nettes Ambiente, freundliches Personal und eine ordentliche Auswahl an Tapas und weiteren Gerichten wie Paella. Leider haben uns die Tapas geschmacklich nicht so überzeugt. Der Sangria war ok, Brot mit Aioli ebenso wie die Datteln im Speckmantel. Wir haben schon wesentlich leckere Tapas zu günstigeren Preisen gegessen. Daher leider nur 3 Sterne.

Wir haben für 19 Uhr einen Tisch für zwei Personen reserviert. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich. Der Service an sich war total herzlich, hat sehr viele Specials empfohlen, welche nicht auf der Karte standen. Das Essen war lecker. Wir werden sicherlich ein zweites Mal kommen! Danke.. Auch beim zweiten Mal, wieder sehr gut und zu empfehlen!

An absolute find! The tapas are delicious: one would wish to be able to taste all of them; I wouldn't know which ones to recommend first...Pepe and his enlarged family are delightful, genuine people. Do yourselves a favour and make a point to go there if/when you are in Dusseldorf.

Die Tapas sind ausgezeichnet und man könnte bestens hier nur mit den verschiedenen Tapas leben. Wir haben den Fehler gemacht, neben den Tapas auch direkt den Hauptgang zu bestellen - das ist einfach zu viel. Es gibt auch etwas Kritik - die Vorspeisenplatte war nicht der Knüller -. viel zu Salat und Gemüselastig. Ansonsten alles sehr lecker und der Service sehr aufmerksam. Das Ambiente ist vielleicht etwas nüchtern - eben einfach spanisch. Wir fühlten uns jedenfalls wohl.

Waren heute mit unseren Kindern hier anlässlich des Geburtstags meines Mannes essen. Sehr gute Tapas, Cornecho ein Traum, Service super freundlich und kompetent und immer ein Lächeln auf den Lippen. Preis Leistungsverhältnis topp! Macht weiter so! Danke für den schönen Abend.

We really felt at home in this restaurant. The waitress was really nice and the overall service was very quick. We enjoyed the wine and the food a lot, especially the veggie paella. The prices are right for what you get. Very recommended if you're looking for an informal place to feel welcome and have good food.

Il locale è carino, c'è spazio fra i tavoli, ed un buon ambiente. La cucina è "a vista" cosa che, personalmente, apprezzo. Il personale, iniziando dal proprietario, sono di una cordialità e squisitezza unica. Avendo riservato, hanno visto dal cognome che molto tedesco non ero, e si sono rivolti a me in italiano , poi, rispondendo io in spagnolo, abbiamo proseguito in questa lingua Il locale ricorda moltissimo le 'Cantine' spagnole, ed è gradevole. Il menù è semplice e spagnolo, piatti classici del cucina iberica, evidentemente, germanizzati, però nulla mi hanno fatto rimpiangere della Terra Spagnola . I clienti davano la sensazione di essere abitue , e questo, evidentemente, e una buona pubblicità da solo. Le ragazze bravissime ed attente, sempre sorridenti e disponibili.

Wir haben zu zweit eine Paella (für 2 Personen) gegessen. Geschmacklich war dies ein spanisches Desaster. Wenig bis überhaupt kein Fisch/Muscheln/ect., es gab hauptsächlich Reis der fettig war. Die Pfanne war zu 70 Prozent gegüllt und das ist noch übertrieben. Die Portion war wenn überhaupt für eine Person ausreichend. Der Preis hat mich dann umgehauen und steht im keinem Verhältnis. Wir hatte uns sehr auf dieses Restaurant gefreut, wollte schon seit Jahren dort hin und wurde leider bitter enttäuscht. Wir kommen nicht wieder.

Paella kam zwar nicht, aber es war super nett da.

Heerlijk gegeten, er wordt duidelijk uitgelegd wat wat is en ook gezegd dat het handig is om met de tapas 3 à 4 gerechtjes per persoon te bestellen omdat de porties behoorlijk zijn. Elk schaaltje bevat genoeg om lekker samen te delen. een gezellig restaurant met vriendelijke mensen die trots zijn op wat er geserveerd wordt. En terecht!

Typische spanische Küche. Die Karte ist nicht sehr groß, aber wer die spanische Küche mag, findet hier das Richtige. Die Einrichtung ist sehr schlicht, nichts was irgendwie etwas Privatsphäre gibt. Sind mehrere Gäste im Raum steigt der Geräuschpegel und man versteht sein eigenes Wort nicht mehr.

Sehr gutes Essen in großer Auswahl zu fairen Preisen. Die Bedienung ist schnell und aufmerksam. Für einen rundum zufriedenen Abend mit guten Freunden sehr zu empfehlen!
