Update from March 27, 2025: Once again we weren't particularly impressed with the service! While the food was again very good, the service wasn't particularly good. We sat for a long time with empty glasses without anyone asking us if we would like something more to drink. We were also not asked after the meal, as usual, whether we would like dessert or coffee. In addition, our empty plates remained at the table for a long time. Unfortunately no one took care of us. After no waiter asked about the empty glasses, we finally paid early and left. Unfortunately, the service has deteriorated significantly and used to be much better...! Too bad. Update from November 19, 2023: Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed today! The food was again very good, but this time the surroundings left a lot to be desired! For example, our tablecloth was completely covered in stains and unfortunately didn't invite you to eat! Furthermore, the entrance to the restaurant was also not a reputation for the place; there were old, broken flower boxes with cigarette butts in them, rubbish like an old olive oil canister, an old broken wooden cart wheel. In the entrance area there were piles of insulation boxes for food delivery. Truly not an inviting scenario for an otherwise good restaurant...! Therefore unfortunately 1 star deducted. Were once again extremely satisfied today! Service and quality - simply great The mussels were also excellent today. In short, we would love to come back again...

The best Italian!!! We always come here to eat because it's always great! Really Italian restaurant! With the best pizza I can eat in Munich! Pasta is also always delicious! The lunch specials are also a great offer that you can't find anywhere else in terms of price and performance. Service friendly and quick every time. The children always get something as a farewell gift as well as special requests such as pasta with pesto, although this is not on the menu, never a problem! Our favorite Italian for sure!

That was impossible!!!! I had dinner at La Routa At the next table there was a couple sitting on the chair with their dog who ate the food from the table. I've never seen anything like it. The head waiter doesn't care... YOU HAVE NOT HEARD OF HYGIENE HERE THE TABLE WASN'T EVEN CLEANED AFTERWARDS; BUT JUST WIPED OVER WITH YOUR HAND:

La Routa always has great pizzas and from the wood oven. I would say one of the best pizzas in Munich. Keep it up, always enjoy coming back for pizza.

It was already a pretty good Italian around 2000, but then it wasn't really good for a long time. Based on a recommendation, I've been eating there again for a very long time now and I have to say that La Ruota has found its old strength again. First class pizza and very good service. The girls in particular are really on their toes - thank you Keep it up.

I'm sitting here at La Ruota Landsbergerstrasse. I ordered a minestrone because it was cold outside. And I was looking forward to a warm soup. The smallest bowl of soup I've ever seen arrived. Hardly any soup. Only coarsely and large chopped vegetables. Without taste or spice. The vegetables were cooked for more than 1 minute. Totally raw… and that for 6.90 It had nothing to do with an Italian vegetable soup. I got a real stomach ache Craziness…. Outrageous

Half of us waited over an hour for the pizza. At some point the anger is so great that the stomach fills with anger instead of pizza. Half eaten, the other half of us went home hungry. I can absolutely ZERO recommend a visit here due to the waiting time for the home delivery service. It's a disgrace that customers have to wait in the store for a long time so that the home service orders are delivered on time. Luckily, there are many other good Italian restaurants in Munich without a delivery service.

Pizza in oil drink, no good tomato sauce on it. Chili at the table not really spicy. Ordering was sometimes difficult because the waiter probably didn't speak very good German. Chairs tip over because the floor is uneven, but you can live with that.

Every point 5 stars, especially when it comes to the feeling of Italy!:-)

The food and service are good, but the women's restroom doors have not been able to be closed or locked for a year. Bit annoying.

La Ruota is just La Ruota. Excellent pizzas in all variations from the spacey wood-fired oven. Always top quality at a reasonable price. In summer you can also sit nicely in the courtyard.

I've eaten much better pizzas, especially a lot of cheese and few toppings. In order to be able to order another drink, you had to spend a long time trying to get a waiter's attention. And unfortunately it is incredibly loud.

In my opinion the positive reviews are overrated! The pizza was “okay” but I wouldn’t go there again. I was in Munich for work and my hotel in Laim, the La Ruota, was recommended to me by locals. What I didn't like: 1. I wanted spinach instead of olives on the Capricciosa pizza, so I only swapped 1 topping. I was then charged €2.50 for this request on my invoice. I would have expected the waiter to point this out to me when I ordered? 2. The neighboring table received pizza rolls as a starter and a limoncello as a nightcap without being asked - I don't think it's good that guests are treated unequally! 3. Fruit flies were constantly flying on my beer glass, which I think could mean poor hygiene in the restaurant? Overall I was rather disappointed at €20 plus 10% tip, what a shame!

I have known La Ruota for many years, even when it was still in the little yellow house in Pasing. Yesterday I celebrated my birthday at La Ruota with a larger group of people. From start to finish everything went perfectly. The food was extremely good, the service was super friendly and accommodating and the prices for food and drinks were absolutely reasonable. All my guests confirmed this. A friend of mine who lives half in Italy was also very impressed by the food and the restaurant. I can absolutely recommend La Ruota.

I have been visiting for more than 20 years, authentic Italian cuisine… generous dishes and excellent Pizzas. Iconic dishes such as Spagetti al Scoglio or Pizza Frutti di Mare.. Extensive menu… restored Authentic Italian in a quiet Passing area west of Munchen…. Although prices have risen significantly... modern and spacious facilities... it has nothing to do with that restaurant Vecchio and Vetusto that I met in 2005

We were there with a larger group and had dinner there. First of all, the waitresses (a man and a woman) were very strange? They spoke very unpleasantly out of context and this dragged on for a long time. I ordered a Margherita pizza and another person ordered a Prosciutto pizza. At first both pizzas looked very tasty, but that didn't last long as the entire topping fell off after one bite and we both burned ourselves everywhere... The taste wasn't that great either... I had ordered the dessert (mixed dessert platter) and asked what was there, to which I didn't get a proper answer, all the desserts were simply thrown together in mini ones and the taste wasn't really good either. I won't come again...

I've been getting pizza regularly for at least 10 years and eat there every now and then. The quality is always right, tested 100 times or more. And I have relatively high standards. Yesterday I was there again, large group, 13 people, everyone happy. Waiters are always nice, what more could you want?

This was the second time I've been to the LaRouta restaurant and I simply wasn't served because the waiters seemed to prefer to do nothing. There was only one table occupied and the waiter still didn't want to serve me. When I asked him politely about it, he said he wouldn't serve me. As a restaurateur, I feel ripped off - I would be happy if someone supported my business. But this waiter didn't even want to bother going up two steps. This is outrageous. The first time was in December: the restaurant was empty, only two tables were occupied, no one was sitting outside, and I waited in vain for service for an hour. When I went in, I was told to help myself. It is the worst restaurant I have ever visited. The waiter, an older gentleman without a name tag, was extremely unfriendly. Please do not go to this restaurant under any circumstances.

Were disappointed. The pizza bread wasn't even lukewarm, was then warmed up again and was then just lukewarm. We didn't eat it, but despite complaining, it ended up on the bill. The food overall was not hot. Strange, when we have it delivered it's hotter than in the restaurant.

Towards the end of July we decided to enjoy a pizza at Ruota. Since we had eaten there several times before, we were familiar with the quality of the pizzas. Unfortunately, that day we were served a shandy that wasn't completely full! Then my friend was also surprised and I spoke up about it, instead of following up I just made another excuse and it was the cyclist's fault, the foam had settled and I thought what foam she was talking about, there was almost nothing to see. The glass was about 1-1.5 cm less filled than the mark. After all, we pay for 0.5 liters and not for 0.4 liters. But after she didn't see it, we knew she had wasted her tip. When I paid, the next impudence was that she gave me the price. I paid by card. She had to write the amount on the debit card reader and waited for me to give the amount with a tip. She typed (angry of course) after I confirmed she cursed in Italian. Then she threw swear words at me in Italian as I walked, to which I told her that I had heard that. Summary: As good as the pizza may be, we won't be going there again. We wanted to enjoy and that was no longer a pleasure but just an annoyance. And pay money for it, no thanks! One thing is certain for us when it comes to behavior: we'll stick to the old school!

We celebrated our wedding on August 23rd. From price performance to planning decorations and table stealing, the waiter Antonio served us, but Antonio wasn't just the waiter, from dance requests to entertainer and even involved in the bride's kidnapping. We have never received such an offer. Antonio gave us an unforgettable day The kitchen also did a very excellent job - a huge compliment from us and we will visit this restaurant often. only to recommend

Overall it was first class. Tagliatelle with truffles tasted very good. Truffle a bit pale, but it's certainly a question of cost. Service attentive, friendly and friendly, just the way I like it.

It used to be much better. Pizza still great. Waiter unfriendly, arrogant. Didn't bring the dish we ordered and then tried to blame it on an allegedly wrong order on our part, even though everyone at the table had heard what was ordered. When clearing or serving, people lean across the table, over other people's food, etc.

Always good in the past, today it was a bitter disappointment. Starting with the service: Although it was almost empty due to the international match, more than ¼ hour passed before I was allowed to order. Twice I heard from different waiters: “Colleague is coming soon”. For pizza: spinach with gorgonzola. Why use a wood-fired oven if the pizza is sticky and soft after 3 minutes? Only the edge remained crispy. Otherwise the taste is not more than ok. That was better too. When paying the same as when ordering. It's worth noting that I sat outside, where less than half the tables were unoccupied. Inside it was completely empty. The waiters kept coming outside, but no one looked around. At other tables there was also hectic waving to pay for a longer period of time. I gave up after almost 20 minutes and went to the entrance to pay. Even though I ordered the small pizza, I paid for the larger one. I thought so since I couldn't possibly finish the pizza I was given. I then deducted the difference from the tip. Actually, tipping was not appropriate for this service. But now people are happy if there are still service staff. Overall it's just a shame, I've always enjoyed coming here.

I really enjoy eating here with my customers/business partners and privately!! But this experience today has deeply offended me! That's why I'll never come here again. My business partner ordered spaghetti Napoli with 2x scampi. The waiter then adds 2x €6.50 to the spaghetti. I am deeply disappointed and will therefore never come here again! La Ruota has been our local restaurant for over 20 years and we simply love it! The best pizza in Munich is here! Our delivery took place within 12 minutes, the driver was super friendly as always and the pizza was really hot and very tasty.

Because the food here is good, the house is always full. It's correspondingly noisy here. The service is top notch. Table reservations are recommended here!

We were in the restaurant with girls in the evening (9 p.m.). The food tasted good as always. Unfortunately, I had the impression that the waitress wanted to get rid of us. Everything was cleared away and at the end cash payment was requested. I still paid with the card and got an unfriendly face. Otherwise the atmosphere and the food was great!

Enjoyed pizza vegetarian and Quartro Stagione and a Lugano today. The pizza from the wood-fired oven was very tasty.

I ordered pasta with prawns. Unfortunately there were only 3 pieces on it. The food was very good, but more prawns would have been nice. The service was VERY nice. We had a nice surprise for the child at the end. Otherwise everything is totally fine.

The pizzas are simply delicious!

The order takes more than the specified 90 minutes. And on the website they advertise lunch prices, but they don't exist and you pay the normal price. The store can't be that good.

Friendliness seems to be a priority here. This was once the best Italian restaurant around, but today it is just a reflection of times gone by. I can understand that as a restaurant you focus more on couples or families, but even if you come alone, you are a guest and should be treated as such. But I felt very unwanted and only sat down for a moment and then immediately got up and left. No guest wants to be seated with the words “there in the corner”. I've been here really often. Also to go. But now never again. Because I bring them the money and not the other way around. Thank you very much too.

Great pizzas and pasta dishes. However, the mussels were not convincing even though the sauce was good. Mixed audience, including a lot of Italians, which speaks for itself.

Wine (0.2) and wine spritzer (0.4) are served at identical filling levels in glasses without a calibration mark and claim that the amount shown on the invoice was actually served. The toilets were apparently built for devils, who then demolished both cabin doors (no longer fit into the door frame) so that they cannot be locked...

Food is always good across the board. Service is a bit lacking when the hut is full - this is due to the perceived lack of staff... but always trying hard. Boss supports when in doubt 😉. Price level is right.

For me the best, very best pizza. Unfortunately I never get to try anything else because the pizza is so good. Hopefully I'll be able to do it at some point, but actually it doesn't have to be that way. I've been a customer at La Ruota for almost 30 years (previously a little further west) and the food is still just as fantastic.

Guys, I have no idea what was going on with you today on January 28th, but I have never experienced such bad pizza with raw dough before. Still 4 stars - something could go wrong with everyone. Original review: We often order pizza here to pick up. We tried out various pizzerias around Pasing and ended up sticking with La Ruota for the long haul. One star deducted is because in 95% of cases it tastes like it does in Italy, but sometimes you either meet a different shift in the kitchen or the pizza maker doesn't feel like it anymore and the result is a "normal" pizza and not such a great one Taste experience as always.

Das schlechteste Restaurant in ganz München . Service 0 Sterne , essen haben wir nicht bekommen da der Chef beschäftigt war besoffen andere Gäste fertig zu machen . Während unserem Aufenthalt war er beschäftigt lieber andere Leute anzuschreien statt zu sorgen das seine Kellner die Gäste bedienen . Alle scheuen zu und der Chef macht eins auf dicke Hose .

Ich möchte meine außerordentlich enttäuschende Erfahrung bei meiner kürzlichen Geburtstagsreservierung teilen. Vor drei Wochen hatte ich einen Tisch für meinen Geburtstag reserviert, um mit Freunden zu feiern. Als ich heute, am Tag meiner Reservierung ankam, wurde mir mitgeteilt, dass mein reservierter Tisch bereits an andere Gäste vergeben wurde. Nachdem ich den Vorgesetzten darauf ansprach, war die Antwort äußerst unangemessen. Mir wurde mitgeteilt, dass die Sitzordnung in seiner Entscheidungsgewalt liegt und ich das Restaurant verlassen soll, wenn mir das nicht passt. Diese Reaktion war nicht nur unhöflich, sondern auch völlig unprofessionell. Er sagte wortwörtlich: ich entscheide wer wo sitzt, wenn Ihnen das nicht passt dann gehen sie. Ich habe ihn daraufhin geantwortet: Wieso komme ich dann 3 Wochen vorher her und reserviere hier ein Tisch? Wozu die Reservierung? Dann fing er mit Beleidigungen an. Es ist frustrierend, wenn man eine Geburtstagsfeier mit Gästen plant, extra mit Dekoration und voller Vorfreude zum Restaurant kommt, nur um dann vor Ort vor vollendete Tatsachen gestellt zu werden. Die Unannehmlichkeiten haben dazu geführt, dass die geplante Geburtstagsfeier nicht gefeiert werden konnte, da es an einem Freitag Abend schwierig ist mit mehreren Personen ein Tisch in einem Restaurant zu bekommen. Daher ist ja eine Reservierung notwendig und wichtig, das diese eingehalten wird. Aufgrund dieser enttäuschenden Erfahrung werde ich Ihr Lokal nie wieder besuchen und werde es auch nicht weiterempfehlen. Es wäre ratsam, wenn der Vorgesetzte eine Schulung im Umgang mit Gästen und Verhalten als Geschäftsführer bzw. im Kundenkontakt in Erwägung zieht um solche Situationen in Zukunft zu vermeiden. Es könnte für ihn hilfreich sein, sein Verhalten gegenüber Gästen zu überdenken und zu reflektieren, ob sein beruflicher Weg im Gastgewerbe für ihn sinnvoll ist. Respektvolle und kundenorientierte Interaktionen sind entscheidend für den Erfolg in dieser Branche. Grüße gehen raus an den Vorgesetzten: Sie haben mir mein Geburtstag zerstört!
