The manager is Sicilian and we prepared the pasta al dente beautifully! Congratulations Constantino 🥂☀️ the wine was also very good, the tiramisu… and long live Italian cuisine!

The service wins much more than the food. We had pizza, it was quality in terms of ingredients, but it seemed like it was missing something that would make it better. The interior needs more attention in terms of cleanliness, the dust on the floor was very noticeable, as well as small pieces of trash. From an aesthetic point of view, I think a re-approach should be made as the furniture seemed outdated and the decoration seemed confused.

Pasta was good but not there was not enough quantity; that’s sad as pasta is not an expensive food. Not an efficient service : didn’t ask if I wanted a dessert or not as there was only three tables occupied. I would probably not come back and would not recommend the either.

The carbonara was really good, but the manager ruined the evening (Valentine's Day). He unexpectedly came into the restroom and became aggressive. When I tried to resolve the issue at the bar, he became even more disrespectful. Good food, but terrible service – not recommended.

The food was bland and far from italian. Bruschetta and aglio e olio didn’t even taste like it should’ve. Pasta with lemon-butter sauce was only pasta floating in a lemon sauce, no seasoning.

We were in a hurry and hungry, but we were welcomed as if we were friends! The owner is amazing! We ordered pizzas, and they were delicious, well-topped, and with typical Roman dough, more crispy than soft. Get there early because the place fills up quickly!

The food wasn’t bad but my gnocchi with pasta an and beef fillet wasn’t too hot and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t beef fillet as it was quite chewy. The service was friendly and the vege starter quite nice.

Disappointing - food was mediocre. This is how the pasta came out and I think they just used one shrimp cut into pieces. Lacked flavor and any spice. It also took a really long time to come out and just wasn’t worth the value at all.

Pizza was good, pasta was med, no AC, no service. Only 3 tables in the restaurant, from what I can see, the 2 tables speaking English (or part of visible minorititied), gets ignored as much as possible. Don't go there, it's a city with great Italian food everywhere.

In the middle of the city – and then frozen pizza at an Italian restaurant? That's truly a disgrace for Munich. An Italian restaurant that can't even make a decent pizza should close down. The place only survives on tourists, because once you've been here, you're unlikely to come back. An Italian has to know how to make pizza – otherwise, it's better not to make anything at all!

Kosta took extra care with our large party and made my daughter feel extra special on her birthday!! Thank you for the limoncello surprise!! We felt like family as if we were back in Italy. I highly recommend this Italian gem for its authentic and delicious dishes- fun atmosphere- service and it’s just off the beaten path which makes it a true gem in the heart of this bustling city!!

We've been here several times. The food is delicious, although the waiters can be a bit odd on some days. A real gem for downtown Munich. Italian cuisine at fair prices. Oh, and the carbonara is served without cream, as it should be.

We chanced upon this little Italian treat on our way home from the playground. We loved the food. Very reasonably priced and high quality cooking. Full of flavour and heartiness. My kids loved the pizza. My wife ordered the sea bream. Very fresh with the right amount of seasoning crust for the grilled fish. My taglioni pasta with lamb chops had the perfect amount of umaminess. True gem of a find. The high google rating justifies. Highly recommend

Update after four years: I've been there again and I'm absolutely thrilled! I was completely impressed by the visit again. Lovely ambiance, centrally located in the city center, yet still in a very quiet location. Authentic, good Italian cuisine. The menu is clear, so you can quickly decide. Prices are mid-range. There are meat and fish dishes, as well as a good selection of vegetarian options. The staff is very friendly, accommodating, and pleasantly unobtrusive. I was once again very satisfied with the service. You can sit inside or outside.

The only reason this place has good review is because you will be given a free desert for it. Food is cheap and tasteless. Smels like fast food, meat is overcooked and dry.

We had a great evening! The pasta with salmon and avocado was incredibly tasty and perfectly seasoned. The pizza with rocket and Parma ham was also great – crispy base, fresh ingredients. The ambience immediately made us feel at home: stylishly furnished with beautiful green chairs and relaxed background music. Overall, a very pleasant atmosphere – we would love to come back!

A nice Italian restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. The pizza was really tasty – great dough, nice and crispy and tastefully topped. The penne arrabbiata was okay but could have been a little spicier. The waitresses were very nice and attentive, which made the visit very pleasant. A small point of criticism: I personally found the soft drink prices to be a bit high - €4.50 for 0.2l in a bottled glass, so I would have expected at least a glass bottle. Otherwise everything was great – stylish interior and a pleasant atmosphere. I'd love to come back!

Fabulous Italian restaurant tucked away down a side street from the main shopping street. A true gem of a find. The carbonara is honestly the best I have ever tasted. If you are in Munich I highly recommend eating here. The owner is lovely and she was so attentive, and clearly very proud of her restaurant. I hope the next door scaffolding is cleared for her soon as I’m sure it would be off putting to some but please don’t be put off by it. We wished we had found this place sooner as the previous evening we ate at another Italian restaurant which, although lovely, it did not have the same cosy, personal vibe as here and was much more expensive too!

The Linguine Gamberini was disappointing, the eggplant in the vegetarian antipasti was inedible for us, and the Lugana had no expression at all.

An absolutely fantastic Italian dining experience! The food was authentic and bursting with flavor, the lamb was absolutely delicious. Starters were also very good. Warm ambiance and attentive and friendly staff. Highly recommend for anyone craving a true taste of Italy!

Absolutely recommended. We immediately looked for a side street where the cozy restaurants are always and found what we were looking for at this select Italian restaurant. Food very good with exceptional pizzas. Unfortunately, no dessert was possible - the real downside to our visit, because it was incomprehensible. The artificial plants on the wall are too kitschy - otherwise the ambience is simple and beautiful. The sensational service makes up for this and makes the visit an experience - thank you very much!

It is well decorated place with awful music and sound system. Meat is not good, not even chewable. Pasta was good but not with that price. Service was enormously slow and waiter picks his nose while he is waiting. I am not suggesting to anyone.

Unfortunately I'm pretty disappointed. Got the wrong food even though we were the only guests apart from one other table. After my companion had already finished, the right dish arrived. The pizza was on frozen level for me. Very cheese-heavy and thick base. The wrong food was also on the bill. When I pointed this out, the bill was corrected and they still charged too much. The whole thing was a pretty unpleasant experience. No recommendation

I’m not always for 5 stars but we came from a long day of shopping around and enjoyed their spaghetti bolognese. The really serve some amazing comfort food. I don’t normally eat spaghetti because of the acid reflux, but it was simply so good. We also really enjoyed the service, the staff was fun and accommodating for us Americans!

Schrecklich. Das schlechteste Restaurant, in dem ich je gegessen habe. Der Ort ist dunkel, die Aussicht auf eine Baustelle und das Essen, das Essen war miserabel. Wir haben Tagliolini al limone mit Doradefilet und Spaghetti Carbonara bestellt. Ich weiss nicht, wo der Koch gelernt hat zu kochen, aber er hat Italien sicher durch ein Fernglas gesehen.

We reserved a table for 4 today, nice little cozy restaurant, we had very tasty starters and pasta and pizzas :) we were warmly welcomed by Costa and all in all had a wonderful evening, thank you for that, we'll be happy to come back :)

I had the pleasure of visiting this wonderful place and I loved it! The food was simply delicious – fresh, perfectly prepared and full of flavour. The location of the restaurant is also excellent, ideal for spending a nice evening. The service was great! I would particularly like to highlight the friendly and attentive waiter, who made the evening even more pleasant with his warmth and professionalism. A great experience that I can only recommend. I'll definitely be back!

I ordered a margarita pizza The pizza first of all was very overcooked the crust was almost black and the cheese was not tasting good I would not recommend going here if you want to eat good pizza

The irony of Il Sogno meaning "The Dream" is that this restaurant was un brutto sogno (a bad dream). The only positive feedback to give is that the food deserved 5 stars. The pizza and pasta were authentically cooked and delicious. Food aside, this review now goes downhill. I rarely write reviews, unless a business has done exceptionally or I have been asked to, and Il Sogno has the honor of my very first negative feedback. The overall experience was truly a nightmare solely due to the service. To give context of the restaurant size, only a dozen tables (mostly seating 2 people) were able to fit in the space. Fortunately, we had a reservation because the host/only waiter turned so many others away even though the restaurant was empty. Initially we assumed that the other tables would be reserved; however, over the next several hours, we watched as the waiter was just handpicking who he wanted to sit in the restaurant. He would drop off food then disappear for a while. After we had finished our appetizers and main course, we were not even offered dessert. That should have been the final straw. But it gets worse – we were pretty much held hostage in the restaurant for an additional hour as the candles on the table melted and nearly started a fire in the restaurant. How upsetting! Even as we were trying to put out embers of the table fire, the waiter never even looked in our direction as the other guests in the restaurant were receiving service under illuminated candlelight. We waited in the dark for over an hour to be acknowledged to receive our check. The waiter checked out patrons who were seated an hour after us, and we watched as he also waived the dinner for a table of girls dressed in dirndls. This was the only time in my life where I thought dining and dashing was the right call. But, even if we had crawled out of there on our hands and knees, he would not have chased after us because he ignored us the entire night. Ultimately we were decent human beings and left cash. I am never one to quickly jump to the conclusion that poor service was due to any sort of discrimination, but I truly felt that this establishment hires individuals who may racially profile patrons. If you are looking for great Italian food in Munich, this restaurant is higher up in the rankings for food only. If you are looking to be ignored and mistreated, you may have come to the right place. I hope this establishment turns a new leaf and recognizes that certain individuals can ruin the reputation and “the dream” for a delightful culinary experience.

Food was delicious but service was the worst I have ever experienced. After bringing our dishes, the waiter ignored our table to the point where we felt like we were in an SNL skit. He walked past us at least a dozen times, and every time would turn his face fully away. We were there for so long the candle wax dripped down to little nubs and the flame caught our tablecloth on fire—and even then the open flame didn’t catch our waiter’s attention. I would have taken a photo but we were too busy putting out the fire. This experience was so bad I want to laugh but instead I’m writing this review.

I went here last week, the restaurant is very central and that’s why we went. As we arrived the owner was walking towards us and we asked him for a table. He did look too happy that we are there and turned around and started walking fast, we walked behind him because we thought, he would head us to the table but he went up to someone else to ask if it was okay if we eat here. Thank good we were allowed…they have one vegan dish on the menu, it’s the antipasti. They were good, just not well seasoned but oh well. The man from the beginning was our server and he did not do the best job, let’s say that. He was never nice, didn’t check up on us and we are waiting for quite sometime, every time we wanted something…Well my sister ate pizza margarita and she said it wasn’t yummy. I can’t really recommend coming here. Sorry

We had a dinner for 2 person, the waiter was very slow and we always had to look for him and ask. The tartar was nothing special and the beef too well cooked, more like it was reheated for 3 times.

The food was very tasty and the waiter was super friendly! Here you can eat delicious Italian food with a clear conscience.

Ristorantino chic nel centro di Monaco dove ci siamo fermati dopo aver letto le recensioni positive. Fascia di prezzo assolutamente interessante per questa città: bassi! Piatti, naturalmente, con la qualità del caso seguendo un prezzo contenuto. Noi abbiamo assaggiato la pizza: non male, ma nemmeno “troppo” buona, diciamo mangiabile!

Für die Lage des Lokals ist die Preisgestaltung absolut in Ordnung. Pasta und Pizza waren sehr, sehr gut. Hervorzuheben ist eine Nachspeise: Profiterolen (einfach exzellent). Ich kann mir gut vorstellen, da wieder einmal hinzugehen.

At the time we went, there was construction next door, but we were able to access the restaurant. Despite the construction, for a Monday, it was almost full. Really very tasty food.

German food wasn't easy, so I was looking for an Italian restaurant and found it. I think it was a good value restaurant. As of September 24, there was construction right in front, so I was a little confused on the way there, but the restaurant was still operating. The salmon salad was delicious and the pasta was also good. I was a little confused about the pizza because it felt more like reheated pizza from the supermarket rather than Italian pizza.

Il Sogno is a true oasis of Italian authenticity in the heart of Munich. The warm and welcoming atmosphere makes you feel like you're in a small trattoria in Italy. The food is simply excellent, and the staff is extremely friendly and attentive. Definitely a must-visit for lovers of authentic Italian cuisine!
