BellaVaria in München

We made a reservation and stood in front of it, it was closed... Very annoying

I reserved four seats online at the restaurant for January 20, 2025. The reservation was also confirmed. On January 20, 2015 I also received a reminder email so that I didn't miss the appointment. When we stood in front of the restaurant that evening, there was a “CLOSED” sign hanging on the locked door. There we and our friends stood in front of a closed door in the pouring rain. Nobody answered the phone either. The next day I asked by email what was going on. But no one bothered to respond to me or even apologize all week. It doesn't surprise me that a number of restaurants are closing; for some it's even better that way.

Most of the food tastes like frozen goods, but service feels non-existent after placing the order. In addition, only 10% of the dishes on the menu can be ordered. Card payments only work once a quarter.

Loved the new opening with added Tunisian dishes! We had Couscous with lamb, Chapati and Tajine. No complaints whatsoever. The quality was great and we will definitely come again. The prices could be a bit better, especially for the Couscous. That's my only suggestion.

Four of us were there for dinner. The location looks very nice, but the furnishings are a bit outdated. Very loud strange music played all evening. The waiter kept forgetting our wine order and didn't seem particularly competent. An Italian man brought our food from the kitchen, perhaps the boss, who immediately seemed very friendly and competent. When we got the bill we were told that we could only pay in cash. Despite the poor service, the food was very, very good, and the seafood also tasted great.

No starters, no meat dishes, no pasta, just pizza, apparently not good either, a lot of it is returned. Drinks only limited, not even cyclists. In unkempt glasses. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!

We decided to visit the Italian restaurant based on a gourmet voucher - a mistake we regret. Apparently the restaurant recently reopened and the better reviews appear to have been inherited from the previous owner. Eat: Saltimbocca was ordered with fries and spaghetti with prawns, which according to the menu were to be prepared in a white wine and garlic sauce. Instead the spaghetti came in tomato sauce, which was not specified on the menu. In addition, the food was only lukewarm. The fries that were served with the saltimbocca were of very poor quality - soggy and barely edible. Honestly, who serves fries with Saltimbocca? That alone should have been a warning sign to us. There were no plates for the shrimp shells, which also made it difficult to enjoy the spaghetti (no place to peel the shrimp). The wait of about 40 minutes was just acceptable, but the taste couldn't make up for the disappointment. Service: The service was simply terrible. The waiter showed no interest in whether we enjoyed the food, let alone a hint of hospitality. The invoice was handwritten - another indication of the less than professional impression. Of course you can't pay by card. Ambience: The music was disturbing and didn't fit the atmosphere of a cozy Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, the ambience didn't leave a positive impression either. Overall our visit was a disaster. Even with a voucher it was poor value for money. A visit is not recommended. We won't be coming back.

I recently visited Bella Varia because it was next to my hotel and unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. Upon entering, I was immediately struck by a musty smell that lingered in the air. The atmosphere felt off, especially with only one other guest present at the time. I decided to try their pizza, the base of which was decent, but I was surprised to find that the ham on top was served cold. The most frustrating part of my visit was when it came time to pay. I was informed that they only accepted cash. This was not stated anywhere and in fact a previous review has stated that they did take cards. As I only had my card on hand, I was accompanied by an employee to a cash machine. This required a walk of at least 10 minutes to a deserted shopping center, which was quite uncomfortable, especially late at night.Communication was not easy as the staff appeared not to speak German or English.

No printed invoice, just a handwritten note, a surcharge of €5 was charged for wine spritzer, no wheat beer on offer

Unfortunately a failure. The food was okay, but the service was extremely bad (unfriendly, unreliable and sometimes absent), and the ambience of the BellaVaria wasn't really pleasant either. Local is not recommended.

We were treated like C-series customers! We had booked for 13 people for New Year's Eve dinner and we were served terrible service, and we were also told that our reservation had not been made: they put us at a table in the middle of a room with three other tables who couldn't even get out to go to the bathroom, they told us that there was an à la carte menu and instead it was fixed with unsuitable portions. We were served some glasses, after a long wait, all different and even dirty. Furthermore, we had asked for a fork and a knife and we were served a series of cutlery to no avail. For New Year's Eve we expected much more than this, and to top it off we found cork in the wine. We had to get up halfway through the starter. AWESOME, highly recommended.

We went to dinner with Schlemmerbuch. There were initial problems when taking in the drinks. Instead of dark wheat beer from Hopf, a Paulaner Helles came out of a can in a wheat beer glass. The blackcurrant spritzer (as stated on the menu) didn't come at all, even though it was explained 10 times when ordering - the waiter didn't know what it was. Communication was almost impossible because he only spoke French. This was followed by communication with a gentleman from the kitchen, which was also not so easy. He tried to explain the drink to the waiter, whereupon a spritzer was made from cherry juice, water and canned beer. Following my advice at the bar, the “heavy” drinks were poured. Eating the food was similarly problematic! Starters and main courses arrived almost at the same time. Vitello Tonnato was a warm schnitzel with sauce. The Pizza Arrabiata was a salami pizza with some strange tasting salami pieces. Both pizzas ordered the same!! I've never given a rating because sometimes something doesn't taste the same. But what is being offered is a disgrace and I don't want to subject anyone else to it. The only excuse that always came up was "the boss wasn't there" - but then it was better to close the place than offer such service. One could only feel sorry for the waiter because he was completely overwhelmed by the whole situation. It's a shame when four of you want to spend a nice evening with good food and then are treated like that.

We came with two children. Firstly, it turned out that there was no main menu; only pizza and salads were available to order. Secondly, we ordered two pizzas and two salads and waited 1 hour!!!! Thirdly, we ordered apple juice for the children and brought carbonated...

I'm sorry but I have to say that it was a terrible experience on New Year's Eve.. too disorganized, price disproportionate to the offer..

Unfortunately, I have to write a bad review for the first time in my life because my visit to this restaurant was a complete disaster. We were there on New Year's Eve and found out by chance on the second phone call that there was only a New Year's Eve menu, but this was not described anywhere. In this phone call we clarified that we follow a purely vegetarian diet and whether we can be granted such a meal. The staff promised us this and that's why we chose this restaurant. We were promised a 5-course meal. However, what we got left us deeply disappointed. In total there was a soup, 2 ravioli, a small heartless selection of vegetables (1 potato, 1 piece of carrot, 1 broccoli rose) and a small Mouse Chocolate. When we tried to explain ourselves at the end, we were shown no understanding at all. After a long discussion they gave us a small discount. In the end, we paid €40 each for these small portions that didn't even begin to fill us up. We then had to go out to eat again to satisfy our hunger. In my opinion, the service and the food don't deserve a single star.

As Italians we can only say, WHAT A SHAME!! €25 per person for a finished menu with starters. Two bottles of wine, one with cork inside. As an Italian I strongly advise you against escaping from this place. In 13 kids who had already booked for some time, a table was placed in the middle of the room as none had been made for them.

To flee! We had a New Year's dinner and were thinking of having pizza and pasta. In reality a single 5-course menu was offered/imposed on us, with no price indicated. The restaurateur also indicated that he did not have a wine list. It wasn't bad but sometimes cold and with small portions. The main problem was a long wait with disorganized and sometimes aggressive servers. Some customers left in the middle of their meal. Very disappointed with the impression of having been "ripped off". The price of the menu was 55 euros.

As a guest at Motel One, it was convenient to have dinner here in the evening. When we entered we were met with a strange smell...kind of musty...unfortunately unpleasant. We were warmly welcomed, but unfortunately it was a no-go for us... the service employee had such a bad cold that he was constantly sneezing and coughing... and he served food in that condition. The ambience is ok...but unfortunately some details need to be revised. We were the first guests, but the floor was still dirty... so we didn't vacuum it. An Advent wreath on the counter, burnt and melted candles...not nice in Advent. The food, on the other hand, was delicious...there was nothing to complain about.

Just finished our dinner at BellaVaria. I have to say it's one of my worst experiences at a restaurant. My partner and I wanted something near to where we are staying so why not the restaurant directly underneath our hotel we are staying at whilst we are touring Munich. The service was quite terrible, we weren't greeted, took nearly 10 minutes to get menus, took longer to get our drinks order, took longer for our food order and then our food arrived which was lovely, no complaints. But then no offer for dessert, which may I add I wanted a Panna cotta which I saw on the initial menu. After a while of waiting for anyone to offer dessert or coffee, we decided enough was enough and we'd just have the bill. No joke, 25 minutes later we finally got the bill and it was only accepting of cash. As tourists in 2024 we left our cash in our room having only really bought minimal amounts with us, but then all of a sudden they then accepted card after telling them we had no cash, a bit sketchy if you ask me. Definitely felt like there was a bias amongst other patrons who were dining. Would not recommend for any tourists as they seem to only prioritise fast or average service for the locals.

This store is a disgrace A man in sweatpants keeps appearing behind the counter, standing at the tap and drinking beer. The boss shoves his handkerchief in front of the customer. We are now afraid that something has been taken away from us. The lamp at the table flickers. We were hoping for a hidden camera all along. Unfortunately none!!!!! Loveless shop Everyone is allowed to walk into the kitchen somehow. Really not a nice experience Dirt in the corners, dried flowers on the table Eating without love.

Wanted to redeem Groupon voucher, 3 course menu absolute disaster!!! , Starter platter tasteless, pizza instead of Saltim bocca, pizza was bland, ingredients no longer completely fresh, dessert only pana cotta, instead of 3 different ones to choose from. Not a good atmosphere in the place, we fled the place relatively quickly, never!! again !! therefore NO star!! EC card payment not possible, only excuses, also from the other guests,

Disappointing – Not even worth the discount! I recently purchased a voucher through Groupon for this restaurant and was more than very disappointed with my visit. The Atmosphere was appealing, but that was the best I could say. Although it was clearly stated in advance of the reservation that we would order the croupon menu, we were rudely lectured and lied to on site. Apparently there was no gas for cooking that day. The payment system and WiFi also don't work. So there would only be pizza and salad. We stayed so we didn't have to come there again. As a further replacement for the 3-course menu we had booked, we were offered an antipasti platter. The evil - in its proverbial sense - continued. Dry eggplant, zucchini, everything unseasoned, bruscetta, tomatoes slice of mozzarella and the kicker was 5 to 7 slices of salami. Everything dusted with a little parmesan. There was also cold pizza bread. We had ordered pizza. Apparently from the stone oven. The pizza was lukewarm, the ham and pepperoni were slightly sour. My girlfriend's 2nd pizza was similar. Tasteless and cold and here too the impression was that the food was not okay. I would also like to mention that there were very few guests in the restaurant. We would have liked to order the tiramisu for dessert, but it was...how could it be otherwise? Dryly impersonal and without any apology or explanation they said tiramisu was out and there was only panna cotta. That was it, we were happy to forego it and quickly left this restaurant. Overall, it was a very Disappointing experience, and I don’t recommend this restaurant recommend – don’t recommend it yourself a discount. I definitely will don’t come back!

Saturday November 2nd, 2024, 6 p.m. Oh well. We had a Groupon voucher for pizza, dessert and espresso. Were treated a little differently as Groupon customers. The Diavola pizza was just average, hardly any toppings, salami with a flavor enhancer according to the menu, but it didn't help, the taste was still bland. Tiramisu supposedly out at 6:30 p.m., but pana cotta instead. Pana Cotta with extremely sweet sauce and espresso only half full in an espresso cup. What I don't understand, Speci in the McDonald's Coca Cola glass, the labeling in the glass regarding the capacity is barely legible, 0.2l or 0.33l? No problem because according to the card you pay 4.50 euros for 0.4l. No recommendation.

Food was very, very good. And you have the feeling it was made with love. Pizza was amazing

If I could give 0 stars I would. We haven't experienced such a difficult experience in a long time. First, the restaurant is empty, which should have been suspected in advance, but the girls were hungry, so we sat down anyway. We wanted to order pasta and after we sat down we were told that there was none... We waited for the food for over 40 minutes and when it arrived it was cold and not tasty. We ordered water and received two jugs of water from the tap for which we were charged 7.5 euros. On the way out, when I asked why he owed me a faucet, he told me - this is not Israel, this is Germany, and also cursed in Italian. Unfortunately, this is an anti-Semitic person and I am very sad that my daughters had to experience such an experience.

This evening I was back in this restaurant for the third time in a long time because I actually had a positive impression. But what happened today left me speechless. After I ordered a pasta and had to wait a whopping 45 minutes for it, even though the restaurant was relatively low in attendance, I didn't get the pasta I ordered as advertised on the menu because an ingredient was simply missing. According to the chef, unfortunately the ingredient was no longer in stock and for this reason they assumed that they were simply offering it to their customers without giving any prior notice. When I asked and what the chef said, I had the pasta returned and asked that I would like to order a new dish from the menu. After I had chosen a pizza and asked, since I had been sitting here for over an hour, to serve it as quickly as possible, if possible in 5 minutes, which should definitely work with a pizza, the chef said that he was now making a large one I have to get the order ready and so I should be patient a little longer. I didn't want to accept this and asked to pay. However, the service employee did not respond to this request and after asking me to pay, he then served me the pizza I wanted after 15 minutes instead of the bill. In order not to let the whole situation escalate completely, I gave in and ate the pizza that was served in the restaurant. Unfortunately, due to today's events, I can no longer recommend this restaurant, at least from my side.

We had a Groupon voucher... The tables are very close to each other, So you hardly have any privacy. The waiter was visibly overwhelmed, even though there was hardly anything going on... Our son was supposed to eat a pizza a la carte and he waited 40 minutes for it.. The starter went. Main course - it was supposed to be Saltimbocca... a piece of meat fried in a strange sauce that had no taste of its own and a salad with it... we imagined something different. Of the announced 3 desserts to choose from, only 2 were there. I had stomach problems afterwards (probably due to the binge) In the end we have a proud sum despite Groupon leave behind . I don't think the store will last any longer with this service... They'll never see us again.

Food was good but when we asked for the check we were told we could only pay cash. No credit cards. There was no sign stating this. The waiter then got very angry and told us "Americans" not to talk to another couple who also had planned to pay by card. I had to stay as my husband had to go get more cash (we were not leaving documents with the waiter as he demanded). Very uncomfortable experience! I have traveled for years as a flight attendant and have never had such a bad experience.

**Terrible experience - absolutely not recommended** Unfortunately, we had one of the worst restaurant experiences here. After ordering our drinks we had to wait an incredible 20 minutes. When I finally asked, it turned out that we had simply been forgotten. Something like that shouldn't happen in a restaurant! Then we ordered a salad which was just acceptable. But when the main courses arrived, the evening was finally over. The pizza was a complete disaster - it was swimming in oil and was simply inedible. The lasagne was also disappointing and had no taste at all. However, the worst came at the end: we were brought a piece of bread whose top layer was completely burnt. How can you serve something like that? All in all, this was an absolute disaster. The service was terrible, the food was bad and I definitely cannot recommend this restaurant.

After working in the catering industry for years, I actually always understand when something doesn't go as it should. However, this visit to the restaurant was a series of impudence and insolence, so that I have to write a negative restaurant application for the first time. Apparently Friday is pizza day. There's nothing else. Even if you are presented with a menu with many other dishes, it is better not to ask any further questions as this will result in you being ignored by the staff. After 20 minutes we were brought a water bottle without glasses. When we asked if there were any glasses left, we were offered straws. Two other similar situations repeated themselves. After choking down the pizza with rubbery cheese and paying, we quickly left this place. The whole thing was and is inexplicable to me.

Were there today after initial difficulties. Very attentive service, food was very good and all extra requests were fulfilled immediately. We will be back!

Unfortunately, after all the good reviews, the restaurant was a bitter disappointment for us. We waited 1 hour for pasta and pizza, which were not served at the same time and without cutlery. The staff tried hard, but very unprofessional. You don't just throw cutlery at the guest. Unfortunately, the food wasn't good either, the pizza dough was rubbery and my wife's pasta Bolognese wasn't very appetizing to look at.

This time I was there with a Groupon voucher, unfortunately you can clearly see that the Groupon customers get different/smaller portions and are treated differently! The Nice salad was by no means worth €14.50, nor was the salad with beef strips, the spaghetti scampi was not in white wine Sauce, there were tomatoes in it and a lot of oil, the “scampis” were actually just the remains of the tail piece and unfortunately completely overcooked! The Tartufo ice cream was two scoops of vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce! Instead of a non-alcoholic light beer that was ordered, wheat beer was brought to the table and instead of normal light beer on the second round, a wheat beer was brought, parmesan only on request... service was pretty confused and not on task! Online menu is not up to date! Old prices! I hope this was just an exception and Bella Varia will be back to what we're used to!

Für uns wirklich eine der leckersten Pizzen Münchens. Unsere Erwartungen wurden dieses mal noch mehr übertroffen!!! BellaVaria hat viel mehr Aufmerksamkeit verdient!!
