Although in Germany the "Neapolitan" style pizza with a high crust is, at least for the traditional bufalina-type pizzas, Margherita, 4 seasons, made to perfection. Good service. I will definitely return to try other Italian dishes. Advised! Update September 2024: the pizzas are no longer as previously described but with the edges too burnt, very slow service, very high prices. The place was full but the acoustics were terrible. You almost had to shout at your table to make yourself understood.

Wir sind von Anfang an sehr nett bedient worden... Tolles Ambiente und schön sauber alles. Wir haben noch nie solch gute Pizza gegessen...Pizza Diabolo, der Teig ist unglaublich gut👍 Und ich bekam weil ich mich nicht entscheiden konnte zwischen pasta mit Scampis oder Lachs einfach von beidem etwas vom Kellner gebracht. Wenn wir wirklich nochmal nach München kommen dann sind wir wieder hier. Ein Geheimtipp den wir echt empfehlen können!!!!! Aillien und Ralf aus Hessen

Staff super friendly. Food was great, large portions, requests were taken into account (I said I didn't want too much mozzarella and that was taken into account) Toilets are clean and I think it's really cute that they put women's hygiene products on the toilets. If we are in Munich again at some point, we would be happy to come back!! Thanks for the nice staff 🥰

Another visit here and we weren't disappointed. Despite the intense heat, the service was very attentive and the food was really good. Whether it's pasta or pizza or even just a salad, you can tell that the work here is still attentive and with dedication. Many extras cost nothing and attention is drawn to them. Here you really feel like a guest and the price is really justified. Thanks to the team.

An Italian restaurant doesn't have to be a gourmet temple; but it should master the basic dishes. This didn't work with Spaghetti Bolognese, which I wanted to try here this evening: a warmed-up meat sauce, with a light skin on the surface, doesn't indicate freshness and nothing in the taste gets to the nerves except salt. But how the chef managed to bring the pasta to the plate in different states of cooking remains his secret. The Pastello seems to thrive on its location and its size. In terms of enjoyment, it is no longer worth recommending (at least after the change of ownership). The service was friendly, but you can tell that the basics are missing here too. You don't sneak up on the guest from behind and pull the plate away from the side and back with the word "ready?" (Without further comment or question).

Am Anfang war alles top, Service auch super und da wir zu einem Konzert wollten sagten wir bitte Vorspeise und Hauptgang zum teilen zusammen bitte. Da kam schon die Aussage „sowas machen wir nicht „ …ok aber zwischen Vorspeise und Hauptgang welches ein Steak war“40min“ und Nudeln….steak war leider nicht Medium sonder Raw und Nudeln mehr als Aldente fest. Auf Hinweis hat sie nur gemeint ich sag’s der Küche hat abgeräumt und gefragt ob wir zahlen wollen 🤣

I highly recommend this restaurant, which was only a 6-minute walk from our hotel. It's very popular with a neighborhood clientele, so booking is advisable and you can do it online. We had a delicious Italian dinner for a reasonable price. What more could you want?

Very nice welcome, the food was very tasty and the prices for lunch were cheap. Gladly again. 13 tables outside ;-) Small salad without arugula ;-) and one Lasagna.

Came across this Italian restaurant by chance whilst staying in a hotel in the area. I wanted some takeaway food and was greeted with warmth and friendliness as soon as I stepped through the door, by front of house staff and the proprietor. I speak no German, but this was not a problem, I was given a menu with English translation, ordered pizzas and was advised it would take 10 mins to freshly prepare and cook.... giving me just enough time for a cheeky beer😊. Takeaway prices were approx 20% cheaper than the advertised restaurant prices, which were already reasonably priced. A very generous sized pizza was about 12 euros. When opened the pizzas looked great.... Neopolitan style with a lovely leopard spotted outer crust and nicely coloured base. The pizzas we had were very tasty, the toppings fresh and obviously of good quality. The tomato sauce was particularly tasty, which I think is sign of great pizza cookery. Someone else mentioned that the pizza oven isn't wood fired, and isn't it's electric, but I given the quality of ingredients and expert cooking, this detracts very little from the overall taste. When next in Munich, I'll be back.

We are regular customers there and order pizza or eat there about 2-3 times a month. We have never eaten pizza as good as this one in any restaurant in Italy. The pizza is Neapolitan style and tastes fantastic. You can't say anything about the price either. The service is always good and super nice. We are very happy to have such a great pizzeria right around the corner.

Our food was super tasty and arrived relatively quickly. Staff attentive and asked if everything was OK, if you wanted a drink, etc. We sat on the terrace, everything was clean, just on the main street, where there is a lot of traffic, a little more noise than you are used to in other restaurants. But gladly again.

We ate at Pastello twice during our vacation in Munich. The landlord is super friendly and people always ask if everything is good and tastes good. The food is traditional Italian cuisine and very tasty. In addition, the price-performance ratio is right. We have felt very comfortable here.

We were there shortly before the kitchen closed and were able to order something quickly. The pizza is super tasty, with a great base and perfect size. The service was super nice despite the stress. So absolutely recommended.

Probably the best Italian restaurant I have found in Munich so far. Everything is fresh, delicious and prepared with so much love. The staff is well organized, always friendly no matter how stressful it is. I hope that this family business will continue to exist and continue to make its guests happy for many, many years to come. If you want ice cream after your great meal, you can also get the best ice cream around, but from the in-house counter. It comes from a factory and you can taste it too. Keep it up, we'll be back.

I was there with my family on Wednesday night. We ordered 3 pizzas and one salad. One pizza did not come together with the other courses. Asked again after 15 minutes. Never arrived without any explanation, while tables around were receiving their orders. A pity because it tasted good. So pretty good food, but service could be better.

Best pizza I've eaten in a long time. Very friendly and a cozy, heated outdoor area. We like to come back again and again. April 23, I didn't write enough last year - it has now become our favorite restaurant. Roland and his team are amazing and the food is amazing and, in my opinion, an unsurpassed price-performance ratio in Munich.... And again a year - the team around Roland and Patrick is amazing, a service that is simply unbelievable , the quality of the food - always at the highest level... Very nice Italian restaurant. Although it is on the street, the interior is quiet and very stylish. The staff is friendly and the food is great both in terms of appearance, taste and price.

No ice cream was sold - even though it was open and people were sitting outside. Communication was not possible - the first employee didn't know anything and the second wouldn't have even noticed us if we hadn't spoken to him. Very sad for an ice cream parlor. We then went to the square opposite and bought some ice cream there.

-Impolite -Buffalo mozzarella from Lidl -Waited 1.5 hours for cold starter No bread was given/offered to bridge the gap despite having been ordered separately. -Arrogant until it can't be done anymore, and to say that from next time it'll be normal again, apparently it's always that normal for you (see other comments) Thanks for the experience, you have to manage to have the worst service in Munich! ! ! ! P.S. On your own, you can even “keep a tip”

We have been able to enjoy the pizzas several times now. Super great base, the cheese still really tastes like cheese. We don't get pizza anywhere else in Munich.

Trotz einer großen Gruppe, die am Nebentisch saß, und einem gut besuchten Restaurant, wurden wir schnell bedient. Unser Kellner war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und obwohl er mit den anderen Tischen viel Arbeit hatte, war er immer zur Stelle, wenn wir ihn brauchten. Meine Pizza (Pizza Napoli) schmeckte ausgezeichnet, die Spaghetti Frutti di Mare meiner Frau ebenfalls und besonders hervorzuheben, die vielen Meeresfrüchte (was in anderen Restaurants nicht üblich ist). Alles in allem kann man aber sagen, dass besonders der Service diesen Abend ausgemacht hat und dass wir trotz einem gut besuchten Restaurant wenig Wartezeit hatten.

Went there last night and won't be coming back here again. We didn't like the food and the waiter was incredibly slow. My wife ordered soup in advance and when it came with the main course we were seriously asked if we would like the soup with it? I've never experienced anything like that and of course we didn't need the soup anymore. A pity

There's nothing wrong with the Pastello at all, I just wish it was a little more consistent. It's nice to sit here, but not always. Sometimes it's so full that it's way too loud and uncomfortable because of the tight seating. You feel comfortable here, but not always. Sometimes the friendly service walks around as if startled. Service is quick here, but not always. Sometimes good cooking lags so behind that everything takes a long time. You can eat very well here, but not always. Sometimes the excellent carbonara is oversalted or the great calzone isn't baked all the way through. Honestly, it's a really good place to go and eat well, but somehow there's always something going on.

Neither of us had been here before, but it was chosen for its walking distance from the hotel we were staying at It was definitely a popular restaurant as it was extremely busy before we even sat down - and unless people in Munich eat really early, it was good going for 6:30pm Decor was standard and basic Service was good throughout the evening The reason why this place receives only two stars is because it has so much more promise than what it actually delivered The pizzas that came out did not match what was described in the menu - so those who had those, were disappointed and one didn’t bother finishing theirs In fact they all had food envy looking at the dish I ordered, which was Mixed grilled seafood Visually, looked good Taste wise, it wasn’t too bad Where it fell off a cliff, the relatively small fillets of fish had so many bones in it If you can’t be bothered to spend time to remove bones on fillets of fish and to at least have ingredients on the pizza toppings that matched the menu description - don’t serve them Change your menu to simpler dishes that your chefs can cope with However, the lasagna went down extremely well - so not all doom and gloom

nice Italian restaurant in Berg am Laim. It also has a small terrace. The food is very good. But the selection of pasta is not too big. The prices are a little high, but it has become expensive everywhere. The service was also good. We got our food relatively quickly.

For me, Pastello is the absolute top Italian restaurant in the city! Every time I visit, I enjoy the exquisite dishes that truly delight the palate. The quality of the food is second to none and the authentic flavors take me straight to Italy every time. However, what really makes this place special is the outstanding service. Haci, Patrick and Mandina always do everything they can to make their guests feel at home. Their attentiveness, kindness and professionalism are remarkable, and they always go the extra mile to ensure every need is met. As a regular, I also appreciate the personal connection we have with the waiters and the owner of the restaurant. Your warm hospitality makes every visit an unforgettable experience. I can recommend the Pastello without reservation. If you are looking for first class food, excellent service and a cozy atmosphere, then you have come to the right place. A big compliment to the entire team, I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Nice little Italian restaurant with great food at reasonable prices.

The food was good, but unfortunately we had to wait hours for it. I've never had to wait so long for pizza in my entire life. After 1.5 hours I asked the waiter whether our order had even been taken. Despite the eternal wait with two children, we were offered nothing - no bread to bridge the waiting time and not even an apology.

Great food. Delicious veal in a „special’s “ menu. Great pizza and pastas (bolognese and carbonara - a bit salty) Great value for money. Totally recommend We were able to park in front on the road.

Terrible service, slow, we asked for some bread that was ordered and didn't arrive, table of six and two waiting at least more than fifteen minutes, the only thing that can save them is the decor

We have been living in Berg am Laim for 3 years and it has always been our go-to Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, it has to be said that the quality of pizza and pasta has been specifically reduced and prices have increased massively. A pizza can easily cost between €15-19. We are looking for a new Italian...

Were on a short trip to Munich..and became aware of the place through maps..and what can I say 💯💯..it's a shame that I live so far away..would be my new favorite pizzeria🍕. Our pizzas and salad tasted so good...we honestly haven't had pizza this good in a long time. Addition from February 24: The staff has been changing noticeably often lately. The opening times have been restricted, the prices have risen significantly, but the portions are "consumptive" (see photo of swordfish). For just under €20 you get a starter portion (except for pasta & pizza). Here is my original review: Pastello was THE Italian restaurant in Berg am Laim for many years. Very good pizzas, also to take away, very inexpensive lunch menus, quick service, which is a little too ingratiating and "back-patting" for me personally. The absolute highlight: the huge summer terrace, where you can indulge in dolce far niente. This traditional Italian restaurant has recently faced competition from Pepe Rosa on Kreillerstrasse, which is at least on a par.

Delicious pizza with high-quality ingredients, original carbonara with guanciale and super nice service. Also fair prices! You'll be happy to come back here ;-)

I've been enjoying going to Pastello for years; Service and food 👍 Prices have been rising for some time now, sometimes sharply; I still enjoy going there, even if less often now. What you can complain about is the strange smell that you (only recently) get in your nose when you enter the restaurant and that has nothing to do with the typical "smell of Italian food" but rather comes from the toilets, and that the background noise in the restaurant, even if it is not completely full, is very loud because it echoes a lot; but in summer there is also an outdoor area.

I don't understand the high ratings. Had the pizza verde and the gorgonzola unfortunately didn't taste like anything. The pizza was just mediocre, there are much better ones - even in Munich. The bruschetta was also mediocre, the bread tasted like rusks.

Insgesamt ein sehr schönes Erlebnis dort gegessen zu haben, wir wurden herzlich begrüßt und Service war gut, auch die Wartezeit aufs Essen war echt in Ordnung. Essen war vom Geschmack sehr überzeugend! Ich werde jeder Zeit wieder kommen. Ich kann mir vorstellen dass man sich als Gast, an einem Platz in der Mitte des Gastraumes nicht so wohl fühlt wie wir am Rand, zumindest hatten einige Gäste gebeten, die Plätze in der Mitte verlassen zu dürfen sobald etwas am Rand frei war. Ich verstehe den Betreiber, er muss so viele Plätze wie möglich bereit stellen können, da das Lokal sehr beliebt ist, würde es aber gleichzeitig begrüßen, wenn man hier z.B. vielleicht mit kleinen Raumtrennern, die man auch beliebig stellen kann arbeiten könnte.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wir haben meinen Geburtstag im Ristorante Pastello gefeiert und es war einfach großartig! Das Ambiente des Restaurants versetzt einen direkt nach Italien - mit warmen Farben, stilvollem Mobiliar und einer charmanten Einrichtung. Das Personal war äußerst aufmerksam und freundlich, und der Service ließ keine Wünsche offen. Das Essen war ein echter Genuss – die Antipasti waren frisch und lecker, die Pasta hervorragend zubereitet. Die Auswahl an Weinen hat ebenfalls überzeugt. Jeder Gang war ein Genuss für den Gaumen. Alles in allem war es ein gelungener Abend im Ristorante Pastello. Ich kann es definitiv weiterempfehlen und komme gerne wieder! Vielen Dank für die schöne Feier!

Excellent Italian food made by real Italians with Italian ingredients. A pleasant surprise in the outskirts of Munich and walking distance from our hotel. We actually went back for a 2nd time (in 4 days) and were even more impressed. We’ve tried the pizza, spaghetti bolognese, pasta carbonara, spaghetti with scampi and beer + wine and all were excellent. The only thing I would recommend is the house mixed salad. Service is good and the ambiance is warm.

Essen Top, Organisation flop. Trotz Reservierung mussten wir fast 35 min draußen vor de Tür warten weil kein Platz frei und dann wurden auch noch leute die keine Reservierung hattenbor gelassen... nachdem es endlich doch geklappt hat, wo wir eigentlich schon gehen wollten, war das essen echt top gewesen.. Damit war der Ärger verflogen. Das Essen ist echt zu empfehlen. Bericht vom 11.10.2023

Familientreffen - gut und günstig. Pizza und Pasta - sah alles gut aus und war auch gut. Die Karte für andere Sachen ist ein bisschen dünn, auch was den Nachtisch angeht. Aber das ist dann dort wohl der Nachfrage geschuldet. Der Service war eigentlich sehr gut, der Punktabzug war betreffend einer direkten Beobachtung bei anderen Gästen. Insistieren auf etwas ist NIE richtig.

Kulinarisch stimmt hier alles, ebenso der Service. Lediglich der Geräuschpegel kenn bei vollem Restaurant etwas hoch sein. Werden bei jeder Gelegenheit wiederkommen. Wer vor der Wahl steht, entweder ins Pastello oder ins Bella Rosa zu gehen, dem kann ich ganz klar zum Pastello raten. Die beiden spielen in unterschiedlichen Ligen.

Super freundliche Bedienung, die sich dann in einem Gespräch als Inhaber herausstellte. Essen und Service top. Werden beim nächsten München-Besuch auf jeden Fall wieder hingehen.

Ein sehr gutes Essen. Hatte zur Vorspeise eine Tomatensuppe und muss sagen - wow! Im Hauptgang eine Pizza - auch wow. Besonders mochte ich die Öle (Chili und Knoblauch) die zum Nachwürzen bereitgestellt wurden. Eine Sache hat mich gestört, ist aber der Größe des Restaurants geschuldet: Es ist zu laut! Deswegen nur 2 Punkte fürs Ambiente.

Leckere Pizzen-Super Service in entspannter Umgebung. Das Lokal ist fussläuffig von uns entfernt. Der Besitzer und das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend und das Knoblauchöl welches zur Pizza gereicht wird, FANTASTISCH. Wir gehen 1 bis 2 Mal monatlich hin.

Wir waren heute etwas enttäuscht. Der Geschmack ist sehr gut, aber wir sind definitiv besseres von Pastello gewohnt. Was uns immer wieder begeistert sind die selbstgemachten Nudeln und die Pizza aus dem Pizzaofen. Ich bestelle mir immer die Carbonara, aber heute waren die Speckstücke einfach riesig und wirkten hingeklatscht. Zerkauen ließen sie sich leider auch nur mit Mühe. Mit der Wochenkarte kann ich mich nie so wirklich anfreunden. Mal sind die Portionen sehr klein und mal sind die Gerichte anders als beschrieben. Wir hatten uns die Nudeln mit Seeteufel und Garnelen bestellt, allerdings waren da keine erkennbaren Fischstücke enthalten. Das Gericht sah einfach nach Nudeln mit Tomatensoße aus und ging daher zurück. Ein weiteres Gericht war das Wiener Schnitzel. Ja, es ist ein Italiener und nein normalerweise bestellt man sowas auch nicht, aber jemand aus meiner Familie hat das Gericht auf der Karte gesehen, hat Lust darauf bekommen und hat es bestellt. Das Fleisch war zwar qualitativ gut, aber null gewürzt und trocken. Preiselbeeren gab es nur auf Rückfrage und dann in einer Plastikverpackung als Miniportion. Nehmt das Gericht halt von der Karte, wenn es nicht richtig gemacht wird. Der Service ist super nett, allerdings fehlt da in meinen Augen einfach die Kundenbindung und der kundenbezogene Service. Die Gerichte und Getränke werden gebracht und man bekommt am Ende so gut wie immer einen Absacker aufs Haus, aber irgendwie fehlt da der letzte Schliff, der den Service Rund macht. Wir sind super gerne im Pastello und kommen natürlich wieder, aber man kann bekanntlich nichts verbessern ohne echtes Feedback.

Wondeful restaurant, delicious food, great wine selection and very nice personnel! We had pizza one evening, which was amazing and made us go there the next evening. Then on the 2nd evening we had pasta, filetto di manzo and saltimbocca alla romana, which were also excellent! It is not a big place, they have a few tables inside and also a few outside, but the setting is very cosy and warm. They are doing a great job, they are fast and very attentive. We loved it! Looking forward to visiting it again!
