La Muro in Hannover

Absolutely the best kebab in Hanover. :)

On Monday evening around 7:00 p.m., I had to wait in line for about 10 minutes, but it was definitely worth it. I ordered a chicken roll, which was delicious. Even special requests were easily accommodated. My roll was topped with cheese – really great for €8.50!

After the team change, the Lamuro bag is no longer what it used to be… no cream cheese spread on the bread, after mentioning twice that we'd like it with vegetables (and he understood us), there wasn't a crumb of vegetables on it… the sauce was just "brushed" onto the bottom of the bag… there was no sauce even over the meat… It was another attempt after months of waiting to see if anything had improved (the bag back then was also only below average in terms of taste…) It was another disappointment, and this time it was the last time. It started strong, but also declined significantly! This won't work…

As we all know, there aren't many things to like about Hanover, but "La Muro" definitely is!! 💯 I've never experienced a kebab shop that puts so much effort into it. I'd love to come back!

For me, the best kebab in all of Lower Saxony, if not the best in all of Germany!! The bread is crispy, the meat delicious, the vegetables fresh, and the sauces combined are simply incredible. Anyone who gives this negative review has no idea what it's like to eat good food, in my opinion. I feel like I go to Lamuro almost every week, and this kebab has never disappointed me. Plus, you get the largest dürüm here at the regular price. The owner is extremely friendly and kind to everyone, always accommodating to requests, and even though it's so busy, he doesn't skimp on anything. The cute cashier is also incredibly friendly and helpful. It's definitely worth waiting for here; I can recommend it to any kebab lover!! Update: Unfortunately inedible since the change of ownership.

I understand why it's so popular. You have a wide selection of ingredients and get a decent portion for a good price. However, it's unacceptable to have something like that in a kebab! Where does the color come from? Definitely not from the red cabbage. The kebab shop is unfortunately overrated.

It was good before the change of ownership, but now it's not at all. The salad tasted musty and was brownish, and no one listened to your order properly (no wonder, given the loud, crappy music). They slammed all sorts of sugary sauces on you without asking which one you wanted—that wasn't the case back then. The toilet is also falling apart and covered in greasy mess.

Wow. I've been eating kebabs for 16 years, but this kebab was by far the best tasting kebab I've ever had. Perfectly seasoned meat, great sauces, and the grilled vegetables rounded it all off perfectly. And all at a really good price. I'll be back. Highly recommended.

Curious, because we'd seen the extremely long queue several times before. Honestly, I can't understand it at all. The portion of the doner kebab plate was really quite large, but the taste was rather mediocre. Everything was piled on top of each other, everything was soggy. The bread unfortunately tasted like the packaged flatbread from Rewe and was a bit old, the salad lacked flavor, and the meat was okay. Oily antipasti has no place on a doner kebab plate; it just doesn't fit! It's rude to move the chairs together when guests are sitting next to them. Maybe we'll try it a second time 🙂

The food here is top-notch! I've been there a few times recently, but unfortunately, I've never been to La Muro himself. I have to say, sadly, his sachets are unsurpassed in terms of the balance of the individual ingredients. La Muro himself definitely makes the best sachets.

The best kebab in Hanover. Expect a wait, but it's worth the patience. Crispy flatbread. Great curry sauce, delicious tzatziki, and perfectly seasoned meat. Finally, a portion that fills you up. Seating outside is very comfortable. The inside is a bit impractical with the low stools and deep tables. Update: August 15, 2025: We ate at La Muro yesterday. The man who served us was visibly in a bad mood. The food tasted good. But then in the night, we had severe stomach cramps. For now, we'll be avoiding the place and trying other options. Such a shame.

The seating is only intended for people with healthy backs. Sitting down is only possible with a bent back. I was greeted at the counter with "NEXT." It continued in the same way. Sauces and meat were slapped on at high speed. The highlights were the blackened and hard pieces of meat in the kebab. Completely overrated.

We can't quite agree with the positive reviews. There aren't enough outdoor seating. The service is designed for mass processing. The kebab looks delicious, but why would they spread cream cheese on a kebab? The entire kebab has a very sweet taste. I've always been very satisfied, but today it was simply a disaster. The fries were hard as rocks and the meat was completely cold because it was stale. Never again!

Unfortunately, the quality isn't the same as it used to be. The meat portions are getting smaller and smaller. The meat was extremely thin and dry and didn't taste very good. The cacik sauce... I don't know what was wrong with it, but it wasn't tasty at all. It had a really strange, sour taste. I couldn't finish my kebab. It's a shame, I really liked going there. Maybe a new owner? I can't think of any other explanation.

Unfortunately, the doner kebab didn't appeal to me at all. There are a lot of ingredients, like salad, vegetables, fresh lemon juice, etc. I got a veal doner roll with mixed salad. They randomly threw together inappropriate ingredients, the kebab was extremely fatty, and the sauce completely overpowered the already poor taste of the meat. There was even a skewer from the day before sitting behind the counter, which made the overall impression even worse – simply unappetizing. I also tried the kebab casserole – a huge mistake. Far too much cheap cheese, completely tasteless, and so greasy that I had a stomach ache afterward. Conclusion: Absolutely not recommended – neither for taste nor for health.

Today was my first visit, based on a recommendation from TikTok and my better half. My girlfriend had a Muro bag and I had a Muro roll, both with chicken. Both were exceptionally tasty. The wait time, even when eating in, was less than 10 minutes. The price/performance ratio was more than excellent. I'd be happy to return anytime, and I highly recommend it.

Sometimes it's very good, sometimes it's bad... one employee is so good that it's hard to eat a portion, while another makes two portions and still has room for something else. Overall, the kebab is very good, but the service is a complete disaster, especially when it's handled by a guy with a towel around his neck and suspicious behavior (he's a bit out of his shoes).

La Muro is definitely a kebab shop with irresistibly delicious food, especially the baked La Muro kebab roll and fries are a treat! You can also add grilled vegetables, which I particularly liked. Unfortunately, you have to be prepared for longer wait times, and the limited seating in the shop is a bit of a nuisance. Nevertheless, the quality of the food is reason enough to visit!

This was my first time at La Muro in Hanover, and to be honest, I was completely overwhelmed at first. The selection is huge and goes far beyond what you'd expect from a regular kebab shop. I told the salesperson that it was my first time there and I had no idea what to order. His reaction was super friendly: He said he'd just put together something delicious for me. And that's exactly what he did. I got a chicken kebab with everything they could. I was particularly impressed by the fact that they spread cream cheese directly on the bread before adding the sauces. This gave the whole flavor an extra kick. In general, you can tell that La Muro puts a lot of attention to detail into the food. There's not just the classic kebab counter, but also a station with roasted vegetables and one with special extras like cheese, pomegranate seeds, or lemon. I've never seen so much selection before. The atmosphere was really pleasant. I ate inside, but it would certainly have been just as good outside. The location on Limmerstraße is a plus anyway. The service was really good. Despite the long line, everything went quickly, and the employees were friendly and relaxed. You immediately feel welcome. The only minor criticism is the indoor seating. The small, oriental-style tables look cool, but they're quite impractical. I bumped my knees against them several times. It was a bit annoying, but no big deal. I'll definitely be back. There's still so much to discover on the menu. The doner kebab plates looked huge and truly delicious. And the sucuk doner is at the top of my list next time. For me, La Muro is definitely one of the most exciting kebab shops in Hanover.

Unfortunately, the doner kebab wasn't quite to my taste. The meat was okay, but the sauces were very runny and pooled at the bottom of the bread, making the meal somewhat unappealing. The ingredients seemed fresh, but overall, the taste experience was rather mediocre for me. Maybe it was an isolated incident, but I probably won't try it again.

We came here for the first time with friends. AMAZING! You won't find such a delicious kebab anywhere else in Hanover. The selection is top-notch! There's even a vegetarian option. We've been coming here regularly since our first visit...every time it's a treat! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Great kebab. It's one of the best in Northern Germany for a reason. The Yaprak kebab was a solid 5 out of 5. The rotisserie, on the other hand, was a complete disappointment. The meat wasn't juicy and barely seasoned. The rotisserie is a far cry from the Yaprak. Great ambiance and surroundings, and the staff were excellent.

From the first bite, it was certain. Everything gets better, THIS is the best kebab! Big as an eel, that's what I'm happy to pay for.

Although it was far from our hotel, we wanted to try it based on the ratings and comments, and we are glad we did. The taste of the doner aside, the service makes you feel different. By far the best kebab shop in Hanover! I've eaten a lot of kebabs and kebab plates, and I can eat a lot, and I could usually eat two kebabs or 1.5 kebab plates. The large Lamuro kebab plate (fresh bread included upon request) is amazing! For the money, they really fill your plate with all sorts of fresh and grilled vegetables. Plus, they offer meat (or vegan protein alternatives) and numerous sauces. The food is not only excellent in terms of quantity, but also quality. Honestly, I absolutely recommend this place for any kebab dish or the available vegetarian/vegan alternatives!

Old boss was better and gave more, the new one is a bit miserable

The staff rudely reprimanded us because something we ate was "haram" and not "halal." Is that even possible?! Anyone who eats here has to abide by "God's rules." Crazy!

Honestly, the bread and vegetables were good. But the most important thing was the meat (veal, lamb) – who on earth thinks it's so over-salted and burnt???? Not cooked through on the inside and burnt on the outside. And then there's the extreme saltiness. I may not have noticed it before, but that's unacceptable for such a "good" reputation. You're done for me until further notice. If I want high blood pressure, I go to McDonald's; they at least give you a fresh wrap with "a little" salt for 5 euros. With you, I just get angry and get diarrhea, and on top of that, I lost 8 euros for a doner kebab… that wasn't it, really! Bought from Poland, frozen and without any character. That's not acceptable.

Unfortunately I can't understand the hype. The food is okay, but also just average. Not the worst kebab I've ever had, but not the best either. For the relatively high price, I would have expected a slightly larger portion. 8€ for a kebab in a quarter flatbread is already very generous. What is unfortunately not possible are the uncomfortable stools and the tiny, low tables that are far too close together. There may be something cultural behind it, I can't judge that, but sitting there is far too restless and uncomfortable for my taste. You actually just want to eat it quickly and leave. Too bad.

It's completely normal kebab. I don't understand the hype

Absolute failure, if the owners are honest they should immediately post a picture of the list of ingredients for the kebab, here they tell you it's lamb and veal, I'll chop off both my hands if it's not cheap turkey meat! There will be no proof, I want a photo of the skewer, delivered with a current newspaper in or in front of the shop, so that no tricks are possible! There were 4 of us. Absolute flop never again!

The doner roll was okay, but the service seemed stressed. Everything had to be done "quickly," which made the preparation seem a bit careless. The roll was overloaded with too much meat and could have been rolled more carefully. It's certainly not the worst doner in Hanover, but it's not the best either—just average.

Unfortunately, it slacked off a lot, but I was always very satisfied. Service wasn't good and unfortunately neither was the kebab. Hope it gets better again. I wish it for you.
