La Kaza in Ulm

We came across this food hall on Google Maps and loved the concept; it immediately reminded us of similar places abroad that we've been to in various countries. We thought the burger was really good and juicy; it was really impressive. The pho, on the other hand, wasn't our cup of tea at all; it was so plain and simple, and we think charging around €15 for it is pretty steep. What we also didn't like was that the outdoor area was only being set up while we were waiting for our food, and even though it was already full outside, waiting guests weren't allowed to sit at tables that hadn't been set yet. We were traveling with a stroller and couldn't sit inside anyway, so we would have preferred a bit more accommodating or friendly staff.

Five of us came here for dinner. The ambiance is very charming, and the restaurant was very busy. The food was bland to the point of being boring. It tasted like a Swabian housewife cooking Asian food. The glass noodle salad was juicy and had a sprig of cilantro in it. The lukewarm rice noodle bowl, my absolute favorite dish at any Vietnamese restaurant, was dry, boring, and simply not good. Anyone who orders it here for the first time won't do it again. The chicken curry also tasted very boring. I didn't send the food back because I didn't want to waste the evening complaining. The service was friendly and helpful.

I won't go here anymore. When I tried to make an online booking this morning I was asked to call back later because they are too busy. (I find this arrogant, my time is just as important) On the website they ask to make a reservation by phone but they don't have time to take a reservation. Bad!
