Zur Zill in Ulm

Es ist ein sehr schöner Ort am Fluss. Wir haben Kaffee und Bier getrunken, und beides hat uns gut geschmeckt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt.

Eine Wahnsinnige Enttäuschung Heute waren wir mit Besuch in der Stadt und haben uns entschieden, das Zurzil auszuprobieren. Die Lage direkt an der Blau ist wirklich schön, besonders die schattigen Plätze laden zum Verweilen ein. Leider wurden wir vom Essen sehr enttäuscht. Wir hatten Salate mit Putenstreifen bzw. Rind bestellt. Der Salat war geschmacklich nichts Besonderes und die wenigen Fleischstreifen auf dem Teller waren für einen Preis von knapp 18 Euro schlicht zu wenig. Satt geworden ist von uns niemand. Besonders enttäuschend war das Preis Leistungsverhältnis. Für vier Personen mit jeweils einem Getränk haben wir am Ende rund 100 Euro bezahlt. Für diesen Preis hätten wir deutlich mehr Qualität und vor allem eine angemessene Portionsgröße erwartet. Die Bedienung war freundlich und bemüht, allerdings stimmt für uns das Preis Leistungsverhältnis überhaupt nicht. Trotz der schönen Lage werden wir nicht wiederkommen und können das Restaurant leider nicht weiterempfehlen. Für vergleichbares Geld bekommt man beispielsweise im Qmuh oder bei Dean & David deutlich mehr geboten.

Man bezahlt definitiv die Location. Die Gerichte sind ziemlich klein!

Sehr schön gelegen im Fischerviertel direkt am Fluss. Essen und Service waren auch top. Herrlich auch zum "Leute schauen".

Dieses charmante Café am Flussufer ist der perfekte Ort zum Entspannen. Hier kann man die Sonne genießen oder im Schatten der Bäume ein Plätzchen finden, sich bei einem Cocktail mit Freunden unterhalten oder mit dem Partner einen Kaffee trinken. Der Service ist schnell und die Kellner sind sehr freundlich. Ein besonderes Lob an Emma, ​​die uns bedient hat!

Früher war das Essen noch ein wenig schmackhafter, die Portionen ein wenig größer.

Sehr schön zum Verweilen und lecker Essen

Wir wollten bei schönem Sonnenschein draußen essen, deswegen haben wir dieses Restaurant gewählt. Die Mitarbeiterin hat uns die Karte gebracht, hat jedoch keinerlei Info geben wollen über die Angebote, die beim Eingang an der Tafel standen. Da ich mit einer alten Dame unterwegs war, bin ich davon ausgegangen, dass sie uns zumindest kurz nochmal sagt, was es denn als Angebot gib, war nicht so, obwohl wenig los war. Bestellt habe ich Coca-Cola, ich bekam lauwarme Afri-Cola, Liebhaber kennen den Unterschied..Das Menü war ok, eher etwas langweilig, die Maultaschenstreifen etwas wenig angebraten, aber hausgemacht. Service steht für uns an erster Stelle, deswegen werden wir leider nicht wiederkommen.

Typisches Restaurant, gutes Essen, ausgezeichneter und sehr freundlicher Service. Empfehlenswert!

Sehr enttäuscht sowohl vom Service als auch vom Essen . Schnitzel mit Preiselbeeren und Kartoffelsalat 26 Euro Preiselbeeren wurden in einer Plastikverpackung auf den Teller hingerotzt und der Kartoffelsalat war aus dem Fertigeimer . Es wurde nicht mal die Mühe gemacht das Bett anzurichten , wohlgemerkt zu diesem Preis ! Die Käsespàtzle waren fettig und uninspiriert. Einmal und nie wieder

Toller Service und gutes Essen.

Wer auf Gastro-convenience Essen zum hohen Preis steht, ist hier genau richtig. Wir waren viele Personen d.h. wir hatten diverse Gerichte von der Karte. Gefühlt wenig von der Karte war frisch und überall wird Gastro Convenience eingesetzt, da können auch die Deko-Elemente auf dem Teller nicht drüber hinwegtäuschen. Egal ob Schnitzel, Spätzle, Knödel, Saucen, Ente.. Der Service war okay und das Ambiente ist schön. Wir waren jedoch insgesamt enttäuscht und kommen nie wieder.

Hervorragendes Essen, toller Service und leckeres Bier aus der Region. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Maultaschen soup as a starter. Simply delicious. Afterwards, I had the Swabian platter, which was of the usual superb quality. My wife's veal schnitzel was a bit cold today. Cranberries from a plastic bag don't reach the level of the Zill. An ecological and tasteless no-go. The Zill's ambiance – located in Ulm's old town – offers a blend of modern furnishings and historic architectural elements. The service deserves high praise. Highly recommended!

During a week of work in Ulm, I accidentally discovered the Zur Zill restaurant, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for relaxing after a busy day. The place has an authentic charm, refined but not overly so, with always friendly and attentive service. The cuisine is truly excellent: traditional dishes prepared with quality ingredients and served with care. The house beer is also worth a mention! Overall, Zur Zill is a place I highly recommend to anyone in Ulm—whether for a quiet dinner during the week or to enjoy a pleasant evening in a genuine and welcoming atmosphere. I will definitely return next time.

The food was okay, but unfortunately, nothing more. It was a good standard, after all. The service was very friendly, and the food was brought to the table very quickly. The dining area downstairs offers a pleasant atmosphere. Reservations are recommended, as it's always busy on weekends.

Unfortunately, the prices and quality of the dishes do not correspond to the status of a "restaurant". The only thing that matches the mood is the atmospheric place and the wine. It's a pity that expectations were not met.

Double-edged sword: a good bar and a nice atmosphere. Also good, simple dishes, like the melted Maultaschen (swabian ravioli) with salad. But trying to sell a 30-euro, thin, marbled, and onion roast as a luxury meat is a rip-off. If you want something good like that, you can go to Gerberhaus, for example, 50 meters away, where you can get a deluxe roast for almost the same price. Recommendation: stick to simple dishes that you can realistically eat. A win-win for you and your guests.

Will not come back….we ordered aperol spritz and get it full of ice even with no taste when we ask waiters to change it she didnt take care… They are not interested with customer satisfaction

We had dinner at the Zill last Sunday afternoon. We had a table outside by the beautiful Blau. The atmosphere was fantastic, and despite the scorching heat, it was pleasantly cool and shady. What a lovely spot. The food was very, very good: Swabian Maultaschen, unlike anything I've ever eaten before. Wow... a real treat. Despite the large number of guests, the service was prompt and extremely friendly. The food also arrived in a reasonable amount of time. I hadn't expected this. We would love to repeat this lovely and enjoyable afternoon there. An absolutely fantastic restaurant with a unique atmosphere. Many thanks for the outstanding hospitality here.

I was there for dinner, and unfortunately, I lost a star everywhere. For example, the setting was very plain, as always. There was only the rosemary plant on the table, as always, which is more of a distraction at the smaller tables. The light on the lampshades was very bright; they could have been darker. The blue water next door was splashing very loudly, as always. The dog that was with us wasn't offered any water. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed at times. You had to ask for cutlery. About the food: My schnitzel was very tasty, and special side dishes were changed. The cheese spaetzle was also really tasty, but the spaetzle with sauce was rather okay... the sauce was a ready-made sauce, inappropriate for a restaurant like this... And my Aperol was simply bland... maybe they used sparkling wine that had been open for a while. Who knows. It was in order this time. Oh, and the cranberry sauce could have been poured directly onto the plate, instead of just adding it in a jar. Generally speaking, it was good

A typical tourist restaurant. We had the veal schnitzel, which was delicious. The summer spot by the stream is especially nice on hot days.

Poor organization, over 20 tables, only 1 waiter! The wait time for both ordering and delivery of the ordered item is too long.

The portions are very large. I was expecting Tartar-style food, and I really liked it. The only thing is that the area is a bit strange.

Was looking for a nice sitdown restaurant in Ulm Germany while visiting the Ulm Muenster. I stopped here because of the beautiful outdoor seating they had which was right next to the creek that flows through Ulm. The service was great and the food was spectacular. I enjoyed a well poured hefe-weizen and some goatcheese during my wait for my dinner. The goat cheese was fried to perfection and was very tasty. My main course was the Swabian plate....which include pork fillets and Mautasche over cheese spaetzl with a wonderful sauce. The food arrived in a very timely manner and service was on par. If you want to visit Ulm and need a place to have a drink and a tasty meal.....check this place out....you wont be disappointed.

The waitress thought I was drunk (I was driving) and immediately charged me €10 per beer. I confronted her, and she said, "It was an accident."

The schnitzel was dry, the lentils were undercooked, and the sauce, which we ordered (and paid for) separately, arrived late, cold, and lumpy after reminding the waitress. Service is quickly overwhelmed and not always friendly. You also have to be careful about what you're being charged. In our case, tables were swapped. The vegetarian options are also poor.

We were seduced by the surroundings and asked to be seated. We ordered an apple strudel without ice cream and without crème fraîche, a beer and hot milk. The service was very unfriendly (no respect for my questions in German (it's not my language) about a cup of mint tea. I apologize for not being as fluent as the young girl who served us. No friendly reaction at all in return. We just wanted to leave. The dessert plate was served without a paper napkin and the cutlery was sticky. The bill was just as unfriendly, not a smile! We were there with over 25 people, had the vaulted cellar to ourselves, and ordered a la carte. The service was very attentive, and the drinks and food were served professionally. We were in the beer garden right next to the river on a very hot summer day. It was very pleasant and relaxing. The food was also very good and the service pleasant. Highly recommended.

We ate at Zill the other day, but the food arrived cold. When we asked if we could get another meal because we didn't want cold food, we just got a disparaging look. So we asked for the manager, who came but couldn't really help us. When he asked for my first name, it became clear to me that he obviously didn't like the fact that we were a Ukrainian family. This kind of thing has no place in the restaurant industry; we've lived here for 15 years and my children were raised here. But unfortunately, this kind of behavior from Russian managers towards us is becoming more and more common. We will therefore avoid this place and pass on my experience to the rest of us.

A bit disappointing! When we arrived, the restaurant was completely empty, so we got a table right away, and the service was prompt. The waitress seemed slightly annoyed, but not overly rude, so it was still okay. The restaurant itself was very clean and newly decorated, the lighting was pleasant, and the seats were comfortable. The menu was relatively limited, and appetizers like Maultaschensuppe, Flädle Suppe, or soups in general weren't available – a real no-go for a restaurant serving Swabian cuisine. The prices on the menu were significantly too high; for lunch and a drink, you should definitely expect to pay at least €30 per person. The portions were very small and rather poorly presented, and the quality was rather mediocre. The ingredients tasted fresh, but the sauces were very bland, the pork loin was very dry and small, and there was hardly any sauce on the spaetzle. All in all, unfortunately, it wasn't what we expected. It doesn't make you feel disgusted or uncomfortable, but it's definitely below average for the price. What a shame!

The place itself is very cozy and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately, we were told that the Maultaschen (swabian pasta) aren't homemade. However, the potato salad and cheese spaetzle were very good. The dessert (brownie) was a bit disappointing; it was heated in the microwave and therefore hardened when it cooled.

We were there on Saturday. The quality of the food had deteriorated considerably. An asparagus dish with 3!! woody asparagus spears, 2 mini slices of ham, and potatoes for over 25 euros... we won't be going back.

We came here in the afternoon for coffee, Aperol and something sweet. When the weather is nice, it's a great atmosphere, right on the river. Friendly service. Good coffee and I can recommend the brownie with brittle ice cream.

This shop seems to be a typical tourist trap. The staff is very overwhelmed as soon as it is full. For dinner we ordered cauliflower steak and cheese spaetzle. The food arrived after just a few minutes. The cauliflower steak turned out to be half a cauliflower, lightly fried, garnished with green pesto and some vegetables. An absolute joke for €16.90. The cheese spaetzle was average. You can definitely get better things in Ulm for less money. To top it off, they were cheated on the bill. You are simply told a price without listing everything again. We were overcharged here. Not again...

The ambience in the restaurant was actually quite okay, even if the decoration wasn't particularly inviting - there was definitely still potential. Unfortunately, the operation was a bit tricky, which spoiled the overall experience a little. Let's come to the food: Unfortunately, it didn't have much to do with Swabian cuisine. I had ordered lentils with Wienerle - but what I got was more of a creative interpretation of my own. There was balsamic vinegar on the Wienerle, which simply didn't taste right. The lentils were extremely sweet and sour - apparently seasoned with far too much sugar and vinegar. Instead of the typical pancetta, there was a single piece of bacon in the lentils - I've never seen that before. Bottom line: Anyone expecting Swabian home cooking will probably be disappointed here.

That's a shame, because I expect more quality, especially with such a classic dish. The cranberries were also served in a small plastic packaging, like you would find at the breakfast buffet - that just doesn't fit the standards and price. Overall the food was okay, but for 25 euros I would have liked more care and freshness.

The food was quite good. The ambiance was nice too. However, the waitress didn't know the daily specials. We were told they didn't have the dishes listed on the blackboard outside the restaurant. Also, €11.90 for a "large" plate of spaetzle with sauce is just outrageous. The portion wasn't large in my opinion.

We were in a group of just over 20 people for dinner in this cozy restaurant. The dishes and service were very good, we were served the dishes at the same time, which we all really liked and, above all, tasted. The prices are reasonable, a clear recommendation from me. *****

Unfortunately I was served spoiled food. The mushroom cream sauce for the bread dumplings was completely sour and inedible!!! According to the waitress, this is always prepared the night before and may not have been covered, whatever that means……. It was offered that the chef would freshly prepare the dish again, but I declined because I lost my appetite. I thought it was a shame that my drink was charged; after this “culinary experience🤢) that would have been a small compensation!

The staff seemed stressed and not particularly friendly, we hadn't booked a table. We got a table for two. Ordered wienerschnitzel and Zwiebelrostbraten. The latter piece of meat could not be eaten as about 1/4 of it consisted of tendons, even with a meat knife it was not possible. When bee pointed this out to the staff, it was mostly a "yeah..." response. No discount and the bill and no tip was the sad result.

Den senare köttbiten gick inte att äta upp då ca 1/4 av den bestod av senor, inte ens med köttkniv gick det. När bi påpekade detta för personalen var det mest ett ”jaha…” till svar. Ingen rabatt och notan och ingen dricks blev det trista resultatet.

Wienerschnitzel veal was so tough in places (tendons) that I couldn't chew it and had to spit it out, small portion. Cheap convenience products? Dried grasses in a vase on the table as decoration are not possible. Dark ambience, vaulted cellar. Lounge music was sometimes too intrusive for me. No thanks.

There were five of us there. Great restaurant and friendly service, but the food was disappointing. Beef roulades were tough, red cabbage only lukewarm, Swabian plate for 25.60 was good, but only a very small piece of meat on the plate. For dessert we ordered Kaiserschmarren. For 10.80 there was a very small portion (about 5 pieces of lumps of dough that were still raw on the inside) which none of us liked. However, the salad with mushrooms was very good.

For the first time I come across such a place where traditional Bavarian cuisine is presented and served in a modern and so delicious way

Very nicely furnished rooms, manageable size, therefore cozy atmosphere. The menu is attractive and the dishes are beautifully prepared.

I ate a “mushroom dream”. This is a bread dumpling with mushroom cream. I can't complain about the quality and quantity of mushrooms in the sauce. She was really good. But the dumpling was so small that there could easily have been two. For almost 16 euros and a cost of goods of perhaps 50ct-1€ (if it's high) per bread dumpling, you can expect not to have to go home hungry. The service was good and always present. Unfortunately, hanging an animated Red Bull advertising screen in an otherwise beautiful vaulted cellar destroys any actually beautiful atmosphere.

Were satisfied. Food was really tasty. However, we only ate an appetizer there. It's just a bit noisy in the vaulted cellar.

Wir waren 2 Parte zum Mittagessen dort. Das dort die Preise höher sind, wussten wir vorher. Jedoch sind die Portionen so klein, dass selbst die Frauen nicht satt wurden. So hatte u.a. der Schwabenteller zwei sehr kleine Schweinefilets, welches im Essen sogar total unterging. Echt traurig, dass man so wenig für soviel Geld bekommt. Wir werden diese Lokalität nicht mehr aufsuchen.

After we were not given a table in the Ulmer Wirtshaus (even though there were a lot of empty tables and the upper floor was completely empty) and Zur Lochmühle after 30 minutes, still no waiter came, even though only 3 of 15 tables were occupied, this restaurant was recommended to us.
