„LA GROTTA" PIZZERIA - Ristorante - Eis in Leipzig

Eating out in a relaxed manner with celiac disease is often a challenge. This restaurant has fully embraced this. The pizzas are freshly prepared behind a counter and we were able to watch. For my gluten-free pizza, everything was fresh and taken separately from containers. The pizza was baked in the same stone oven, but on a separate pan with a high side. Hands were washed before each course of the pizza and even the serving board was covered with aluminum foil on which the pizza was then brought. The dough is a bit reminiscent of soft crepe dough, but it still tasted very good. A great experience!

Italian with delicious dishes. If you don't book a table in advance, you could have problems getting a seat. The - quite large - pizza is baked in a wood-fired oven. This can be experienced live by the guest, as the oven is stocked directly from the bar. Super nice and attentive employees. I'll be happy to stop by again on my next visit to Leipzig :)

We were here in the summer of 2023, we ordered a pizza with salcicia and pasta. Unfortunately, my pizza was very salty, although I eat well salty, there were several short hairs, arm hairs or something similar under one of the sausage pieces. When I then spoke to the waiter, he asked if he should throw it away and took the piece away from me and then took it to the kitchen. As compensation, I was offered an espresso, the piece of pizza was removed as quickly as possible and I was able to take the rest with me. The price is okay, but I would have expected that the pizza would be refunded in full or, alternatively, that a new pizza would be provided to me. Especially since the cellar/waiter actually looked at the piece and admitted a mistake. Because of this, unfortunately I can no longer come here

We got a place for two people on Sunday evening without a reservation. The service was friendly and courteous with humor. We ordered a pizza and a pasta dish, both came quickly and hot... and then the taste orgasm followed! The portions were more than sufficient (pizza estimated to be at least 40 cm in diameter), all in all highly recommended.

Significantly diminished. A bit arrogant given that the store was left standing in the 80s and prices like in Paris.

Wir hatten uns auf den Abend in Familie sehr gefreut und uns auf Grund der hohen Bewertungen für dieses Lokal entschieden. Es war die reinste Enttäuschung. Nach über einer Stunde warten, kam das Essen. Alle vier Haupt-Speisen, sowie auch die Vorspeisen waren leider keine italienische Kochkunst. Eher fade Grossküchenniveau. Das Steak für 37 € war so zäh, dass die Messer nicht scharf genug waren es zu schneiden. Geschmacklich auch kein Hit. Die Pizza verbrannt, und die „Gnocchi alle Verdure“ ein fades Fertigprodukt aus der Tüte. Das alles echt überteuert. Der Service zunächst recht freundlich, dass änderte sich schnell beim abräumen unserer halb aufgegessenen Teller. Das Reklamieren beim Geschäftsführer war nur noch eine zusätzliche Enttäuschung. Der Abend war versaut! Nie wieder in dieses Lokal.

I give five stars for the quick-cooked pasta. But there are some problems: it takes a long time to bring the menu, it takes a long time to calculate. Time = money 😀

We were there on a Sunday at lunchtime, there was hardly anything going on, the service was outstanding - very friendly. The food was super tasty, various starters and main courses. (Feel free to ask about the garlic oil) Price-performance ratio was okay.

A wonderful restaurant. The ambience is in a wonderful rustic Italian style. The pizza oven at the entrance is a real eye-catcher. Bruschetta Beef carpaccio Pizza La Grotta & Parmella Both the starters and the pizzas for the main course were excellent!!! The prices are a little more expensive but you shouldn't let that put you off. At the latest when you have your pizza in front of you and take the first bite, you realize that these are completely justified!!!!

Super tasty, nice service and very friendly

Pricier than usual but soooo worth it! We told our friends about it and that’s rare for me. We ordered a white based sauce pizza and the truffle pasta and we didn’t know which one we liked more!! The portions were huge so don’t worry about getting your money’s worth. Plus our waiter was charming in his own way which we loved 😂❤️

Great gluten free pizzas! They have also a lot of other options. We were a bit worried at first when we saw the huge choice they have (not always a sign of good quality...) and the interior looks a bit outdated. But the food was good!

We came across this Italian restaurant by chance today and absolutely loved it. As soon as we entered we felt the warm and inviting atmosphere. Our waiter was exceptionally friendly and you could tell straight away that he was passionate about his job - I've never experienced anything like that! The food was not only incredibly tasty but also beautifully presented. Our waiter always made us laugh, so the visit was a real highlight not only in terms of culinary but also in terms of entertainment. Overall, it was a perfect experience that we will definitely repeat soon!

Personal sehr nett, Pizza ganz in Ordnung. Schade nur, dass hier das teurere Getränk gebracht wird (anders als bestellt) und das selbst das oglio piccante zwei Euro (!!!) kosten. Ehrlich gesagt gibt es da bessere Plätze zum Abendessen. Bei einer anderen Bewertungsplattform wurde man dann wegen "Verleumdung" angesprochen - aber nein, ich bewerte hier, wie ich diesen Abend im La Grotta empfunden habe.

Excellent dinner!!! The cozy ambience puts you straight into the Italian mood. The service was immediately attentive and super friendly. We decided on the classic pizza. As we have found, a very good decision. The pizza was very large, ready quickly and super delicious. The ingredients felt very high quality and delicious. So I think the price is more than justified. Our waiter recommended the panna cotta for dessert. At €8.90 we initially thought “a proud price.” but worth every euro. You can taste the love that goes into it and, above all, that it is handmade. To round things off, I have to mention our waiter Anzelm again. Thanks to you! The owner is lucky to have such staff. Always attentive, very accommodating and also a great experience in terms of human interaction! We also got a few tips for our Italy vacation. I can only recommend everyone to try the restaurant, it will be worth it! Keep it up!!!

A super cute restaurant with Italian flair. I thought it was great that there was gluten-free pizza and pasta - each with an extra charge of €5 - I had a gluten-free pizza and it was great! It’s also hard to distinguish from a “real” one. In general it was very pleasant to sit there, and the waiters were all very accommodating and friendly. Most of the dishes had meat, which you could of course opt out of. I had the pizza Paola (without the bacon) and can highly recommend it.😊 I only deduct one point for the table layout, as people sit close together in the front area and also directly on the aisle. That made the atmosphere a bit restless and unpleasant, but the rest was great! Gladly again 😊

We spontaneously visited the pizzeria on a Saturday afternoon and got a table for three. We ordered 2 pizzas and a pasta dish with a change request, which was also fulfilled. The pizzas are really very big. I would estimate it to be ∅50 cm and the base is nice and thin. Overall, everything tasted fantastic and the service was very friendly, attentive and quite funny.

For that I would move from Baden-Württemberg to Saxony...

We were thrilled by the friendly and humorous service, and the food was also extremely tasty with fresh ingredients and large portions. Despite warning that it might take a while, drinks and food were on the table quickly.

We ate here with our 4-year-old daughter last night and it was just INCREDIBLE...all the waiters were incredibly nice, attentive and helpful. For example, when our daughter slightly burned her finger on the candle, a waitress immediately came and brought her an ice pack to cool it down. The other waiters were always friendly and had a friendly smile, gave us good advice on our choice of food and the food itself was phenomenal. The pizzas are fresh and super tasty, huge and taste just like in Italy. The noodles were also wonderful...our daughter wanted to go there again the next day:) our next visit to Leipzig will definitely be combined with dinner here in the restaurant. Thank you for everything!!! We'll definitely be back :)

We went to La Grotta yesterday and loved it. Sensational food and a really brilliant, very friendly and humorous team made our evening something special. At the end there was a limoncello on the house - a great end to our visit. Dear La Grotta team, you are great!! We'll be back ;-)

We came to the restaurant last night in the middle of the evening with three children without a reservation - it was extremely full and yet they organized a table for us. The waiting time wasn't long either. The waiters were all very nice and accommodating. Really great! Of course the pizzas also tasted delicious ☺️

Staff very nice, pizza quite ok. It's just a shame that the more expensive drink is brought here (different than what was ordered) and that even the oglio piccante costs two euros (!!!). Honestly, there are better places for dinner.

We were at la Grotta for the first time yesterday at lunchtime and were given a very warm welcome, even though we were there before the actual opening time! The pizzas are excellent, I've rarely had such a good pizza! The selection is also huge and special requests are fulfilled with the utmost friendliness! The service was also extremely friendly, warm and accommodating, so we came back for dinner in the evening and again this afternoon! Thank you for the nice break!

The biggest recommendation you can give when traveling in the city of Leipzig. The food is more than excellent, the service is both courteous and helpful and more than nice. Tomorrow my VfL Bochum will play against RB Leipzig. Before that, head to La Grotta for the executioner's meal. Short and sweet: service, quality, ambience, price/performance ratio outstanding! Friendly restaurant with high-quality food in an absolutely feel-good atmosphere. Since VfL Bochum is known to be unbeatable, I will only be able to eat here once a year because of “La Grotta”. I eat at Italian restaurants regularly and have to say that this one has picked me up in every way. What I can particularly recommend is the Vitello Tonnato 😌

So, such a great pizza base and then on top of it such a delicious, tasty one (also only Italian style, not I haven't eaten pizza toppings that are exclusively adapted to the German market for a long time. Thank you for this extensive selection and the excellent, loving service AND being able to watch the pizza maker. Just great!

I would give La Grotta even more stars if I could. The service was beyond excellent!! I would give many more stars for that alone. Besides, that was it By far the best and biggest pizza I have ever eaten!!! The appetizer was also very delicious! The dessert was indescribably delicious and prepared with passion. The ambience was very nice. All in all, a wonderful evening in a great restaurant!

We were on a short trip to Leipzig and by chance found this great Italian restaurant online. From bringing it to the table to ordering and eating, everything was perfect. Our service staff at the table is a great man...funny and super attentive and yet with ambience...Greetings to the boss of the house, never let this service person go, other hotels would take him straight away with a kiss on the hand. Now to the food... simply a taste experience on the tongue, simply a dream... from the starter to the main course to the dessert... I can only recommend that anyone who is planning a trip to Leipzig or is coming from Leipzig and hasn't eaten there yet should take a look for themselves. We had made a reservation for four people in the afternoon, I think that's an advantage given its popularity and this really great cuisine. All in all, just a great host with a feel-good character.
