„LA GROTTA" PIZZERIA - Ristorante - Eis in Leipzig

I don't even know how to describe it, but I think I'll keep it short and sweet. From the walk into the local to the farewell, everything was simply excellent. The food is a culinary delight and the wine is perfectly selected by the staff. It is always a recommendation to eat here.

Unfortunately no recommendation :( First of all, the good: The service was very good, and the ambience was also completely okay. The pilsner tapped in-house was also very tasty. Now the problem: We each had a pizza, the advantage and disadvantage of which could have been the size. She was about 35cm on average, maybe 40cm tall, so huge. But: the taste is mediocre, it can be better, it can be worse. The pizzas were okay expensive for the size, we paid around €18 for each pizza. (Both vegetarian) The fact that chili oil was available free of charge upon request is once again a credit to the lightning-fast service, but unfortunately the jalapeños marinated in water instead of oil tasted like nothing but disgusting. And that's how I felt personally, which is why the obligatory tiramisu had to be canceled. I don't know whether it was the quality of the ingredients, the bad chilli oil or my tendency to try to finish the plate because it was ordered. I kept the pizza in until I got to the hotel - but it was tight.

Well.. now there will be a real review. The waiters are lethargic, semi-adequate, I waited more than an hour for the salad, it was cooked for 3 minus, extremely weak, I bought it from the rating and laudatory reviews. I don’t recommend this to anyone.. save your euros and time. They even waited for the bill for a very long time... I don’t understand what’s wrong with you? Auf Wiedersehen... I will never return to this establishment.

Excellent service! The food was delicious and the smallest pizza was huge. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Especially the waiter Anzelm was very attentive. I went with a friend who couldn't eat gluten and she was more than happy with the place. I highly recommend it.

We went to La Grotta because we were guided by other reviews, which is something I like to do in places that are "new" to me. We weren't disappointed but positively surprised. Is it a "normal" pizzeria? Probably not, because the creativity can be seen in the pizzas. There are many toppings and combinations that we haven't had in other pizzerias. I found e.g. B. the creative part on the 2 person variation is brilliant. I've never had pears on a pizza before and it went really well. The service is great, friendly, accommodating and present. The price? Completely fine for the quality presented. I only deduct a star for the ambience; although it is authentic, the frame is very narrow and is getting old in one place or another. We were really very satisfied and can only recommend La Grotta.

The name says it all. Unfortunately our visit was disappointing. The furnishings look like a cheap imitation, the chairs wobble and don't convey any comfort. The staff leaves a second-class impression - inattentive and unprofessional. The pizza was dry, burnt and brittle, which completely ruined the enjoyment. Given this quality, the prices are completely excessive and bear no relation to the level offered. There is clearly a lack of class. At least you seem to be making an effort, but it’s not nearly enough to leave a positive impression.”

Das war nun schon der zweite Besuch in "La Grotta", nachdem ich im Sommer dort gegessen habe. Dieses Mal waren wir als Paar mit Freunden dort. Nach einer Vorspeise; diverse Salate und Carpaccio (alle sehr reichlich und fein); haben wir uns eine Megapizza mit vier verschiedenen Geschmacksrichtungen geteilt. Wirklich sehr gut zubereitet, dünner Teig, kross und geschmacklich perfekt. Ich habe 25 Jahre in Italien gelebt und glaube, das ganz gut beurteilen zu können. Das Ambiente war ansprechend, die Bedienung sehr aufmerksam, schnell und zuvorkommend. Die Getränke kamen sofort. Auch das Essen liess nicht lange auf sich warten. Im hinteren Bereich des Lokals sitzt man wahrscheinlich etwas ruhiger, falls jemand darauf Wert legt. Alles in Allem war es ein gelungener Pizzeria-Besuch!

The pizzas, the size of wagon wheels, were delicious. Good ingredients, great dough, that's how pizzas should be. The waiters, each friendlier than the next, always make their guests feel welcome and fulfill their requests quickly. The store has a bit too much “Italian flair” for my taste, almost bordering on kitsch. The tables are also very close together, so you had to ask neighboring tables to get up from their seats to pass them. Maybe that's better in summer.

After I had already been there with the company in the summer, I was now there with the family. The service was super nice, but the furniture doesn't necessarily invite you to linger for a long time. You can't sit on it for long. The food was really very good but I think it would be great if there were smaller quantities for the children... The price is a bit higher, but you can watch the pizza maker at work and get a pizza from the stone oven that is quite large.

Wie soll man das beschreiben ? Das Essen war gut aber leider da aussenrum „La Grotta“🤷‍♂️ wir wurden an unserem Hochzeitstag umgesetzt weil angeblich eine größere Gruppe kommt. Plötzlich saßen wir halb am Gang. Der Abend war gelaufen. Am besten war, dass die Gruppe dann nicht kam und lapidar wurde gesagt, wir könnten uns ja wieder umsetzen. Einfach schlecht …. Leider wurde auch an der Rechnung nichts gemacht. Haben den Laden dann leider satt aber verärgert verlassen. Nicht zu empfehlen der Laden. Schade denn das Essen war gut.

Eating out in a relaxed manner with celiac disease is often a challenge. This restaurant has fully embraced this. The pizzas are freshly prepared behind a counter and we were able to watch. For my gluten-free pizza, everything was fresh and taken separately from containers. The pizza was baked in the same stone oven, but on a separate pan with a high side. Hands were washed before each course of the pizza and even the serving board was covered with aluminum foil on which the pizza was then brought. The dough is a bit reminiscent of soft crepe dough, but it still tasted very good. A great experience!

We were here in the summer of 2023, we ordered a pizza with salcicia and pasta. Unfortunately, my pizza was very salty, although I eat well salty, there were several short hairs, arm hairs or something similar under one of the sausage pieces. When I then spoke to the waiter, he asked if he should throw it away and took the piece away from me and then took it to the kitchen. As compensation, I was offered an espresso, the piece of pizza was removed as quickly as possible and I was able to take the rest with me. The price is okay, but I would have expected that the pizza would be refunded in full or, alternatively, that a new pizza would be provided to me. Especially since the cellar/waiter actually looked at the piece and admitted a mistake. Because of this, unfortunately I can no longer come here

Italian with delicious dishes. If you don't book a table in advance, you could have problems getting a seat. The - quite large - pizza is baked in a wood-fired oven. This can be experienced live by the guest, as the oven is stocked directly from the bar. Super nice and attentive employees. I'll be happy to stop by again on my next visit to Leipzig :)

We got a place for two people on Sunday evening without a reservation. The service was friendly and courteous with humor. We ordered a pizza and a pasta dish, both came quickly and hot... and then the taste orgasm followed! The portions were more than sufficient (pizza estimated to be at least 40 cm in diameter), all in all highly recommended.

Wir hatten uns auf den Abend in Familie sehr gefreut und uns auf Grund der hohen Bewertungen für dieses Lokal entschieden. Es war die reinste Enttäuschung. Nach über einer Stunde warten, kam das Essen. Alle vier Haupt-Speisen, sowie auch die Vorspeisen waren leider keine italienische Kochkunst. Eher fade Grossküchenniveau. Das Steak für 37 € war so zäh, dass die Messer nicht scharf genug waren es zu schneiden. Geschmacklich auch kein Hit. Die Pizza verbrannt, und die „Gnocchi alle Verdure“ ein fades Fertigprodukt aus der Tüte. Das alles echt überteuert. Der Service zunächst recht freundlich, dass änderte sich schnell beim abräumen unserer halb aufgegessenen Teller. Das Reklamieren beim Geschäftsführer war nur noch eine zusätzliche Enttäuschung. Der Abend war versaut! Nie wieder in dieses Lokal.
