L'Osteria Leipzig in Leipzig

The pizzas are very good. And we can only recommend the brunch on Sundays.

We were there today for a birthday dinner with 10 people. There was also a lot going on otherwise. 10 people with small children and elderly people were led to a high table with stools without backrests. As we stood relatively motionless in front of the table, it would have been obvious that it wouldn't work that way. But the employee turned around and then we stood there...admittedly we were hungry. An employee then picked up the drinks relatively quickly and was last seen for 2 1/2 hours. If we had known that, we would all have ordered several drinks. At some point another employee picked up the food, and then 1 1/2 long hours of waiting began. We would have liked to ask an employee how long it would last, but neither the first nor the second ever came back. Asking the staff at the bar was also unsuccessful. At some point the food began to be delivered, but really slowly. Not together with 10 people or at least almost together no... the first ones were finished, the last ones had just gotten their grade...sorry that doesn't work at all. Not a word of apology or an employee who didn't just come running out of the kitchen, no, nothing at all... apart from that, the quality of the food was honestly poor. Well, we did that too...drinks still couldn't be reordered because no employee found their way to us, so we decided against dessert and coffee and asked for the bill. It was there relatively quickly... when we asked if everything was good, we gave points... everything was very polite and matter-of-fact... the employee just answered us "then they just don't give a tip" and disappeared again. Admittedly, in addition to the qualitative disappointment, not being taken seriously or noticed as a customer is quite severe. But this categorically negative attitude towards guests...I don't know if it's good for business in the long term. For us, the location for family celebrations is no longer an option, but there are plenty of alternatives in the immediate vicinity. Dear team, please take this as well-intentioned feedback, today was at best a bad day on your part as host. Unfortunately, service, quality of the food and understanding of the customer were not worth much today.

Despite the size of the restaurant, our waitress Gina regularly kept an eye on us, so there were no long waiting times. Even our short wait for the reserved table was compensated with a drink on the house. The food will definitely fill you up. But the pizza could have been a little more generously topped. I would also like to sacrifice some size for this.

The pasta was mediocre, but the service, personified by Gina, was really very good. We had to wait a short time for our table, not worth mentioning, and were compensated with a glass of champagne. No long waits for orders and always a smile.

Juice shop.... We weren't allowed to put together tables outside with 6 people.

I ate here and it was a great experience the location is very central and the restaurant is spacious and inviting the staff is friendly and fast the pizza is huge and very tasty also the pasta dishes are fresh and tasty in the summer you can eat wonderfully on the terrace Sitting the prices are reasonable for the large portions overall highly recommended.

The three of us (with children) spontaneously went out to eat and despite the full house, we quickly found a really nice place. The waitress was super nice and took her time, asking again and again whether we needed anything or whether everything would fit.❤️ There were also coloring things for the child. The ability to pay directly at the seat via QR code is also cool. They were at the table quickly and absolutely delicious. Thank you for the good hospitality. 🥰

The food was a complete disaster. The tomato soup tasted like warmed ketchup, the pizza like cardboard. But maybe you go to a concept restaurant like this not because of the good cuisine, but because of the ambience. Definitely for eating. not recommended.

I've been to L'Osteria a few times, today was the last time. The table was reserved for 4 people, we got a small round table right at the entrance, it was cold and drafty. The table was less than 1m in diameter and when we asked whether this was seriously meant for 4 people, we only got the answer that everything was reserved and that we could bring a side table. Two starters took 30 minutes, the main courses were at the table after 100 minutes (in the meantime we received an automatic email asking how we liked it...). I complained about the long wait. There was no apology, just an explanation of why it was that way today and my comment that it wasn't okay (among other things because our children had to go to bed and we didn't want to be in the restaurant for 3 hours) and a succinct "Yes "Okay." Service and complaint management from hell. The food was mediocre. 6 slices of Vitello Tonnato on(!) far too little tuna sauce for 15 euros. Far too salty carbonara with hearty bacon, but completely flavorless gambaretti on the pizza. In order not to have to wait another hour, we skipped dessert and left. Until the end there was no apology or at least a small espresso on the house (which would certainly have been bearable given the bill was >130 euros). Conclusion: completely overrated, service subpar, price/performance is absolutely not right. Go to the average Italian place on the corner, they definitely show more hospitality. The size of the pizza alone doesn't make you happy.

We had reserved a table for 7 p.m. and the confirmation email said we had the table until 8:30 p.m., which isn't very long if you want to spend a cozy evening with your partner. When we arrived we had to wait another 10 minutes until a table was available. It was very loud in the restaurant, with loud music making it difficult to hear what you were saying. There was neither olive oil nor balsamic vinegar, which is what comes with an Italian restaurant when you order a salad. My question about parmesan with the main course was also ignored. It was 8:05 p.m., we had just finished eating, our glasses were still half full, when a waiter told us that we should pay and that the table was reserved for the next guests. 2 minutes later another waiter was at the table with the bill. I told the waiter that we should finish our glasses first, after all we have the table until 8.30 p.m. The waiter then went to the next table to collect the money. These guests were also very disappointed with this behavior. You were literally thrown out after eating. It was a mass dispatch. Thank you for the unsuccessful evening

All in all it was very, very nice. Just two small things: unfortunately a drink was forgotten to serve and the size of the table was a bit unfavorable for 5 people. But gladly again, next time we'll try the brunch. 😉

I've been there several times, the food was good and the service was on point and very friendly. (in contrast to the male staff who just stood around stupidly) I personally found the music very loud in the evening, which meant that it was generally loud. We're usually there at lunchtime, when it's acoustically a little more pleasant.

I really enjoy going to L'Osteria and always eat the same thing. Except for the annual price adjustments, I am never disappointed and am always satisfied. The staff is courteous and polite, the atmosphere is cozy. However, if you like peace and quiet while eating, this is not the right place for you. I enjoy being here and would love to come back!

We were there on the weekend and luckily had a reservation, otherwise there really wouldn't have been any space. Unfortunately we had to wait a bit until the food came. But we had a great table, the service was very accommodating and the food was delicious. Was there for what feels like the 100th time and can always recommend it!

On a Monday afternoon my buddy and I visited the restaurant. We planned to order an antipasti plate and a pizza with two different toppings. However, our lovely, friendly and attentive waitress recommended that we only order the antipasti plate first and order the pizza later if there was still room in our stomachs. She had found that most guests were full afterwards. We trusted her advice and the trust was not betrayed. The antipasti plate was delicious and filled us up so much that unfortunately we didn't have room for the pizza. But next time we will definitely come back to try them!

It's been a long time since I visited a restaurant that ended in such a disaster. I'm even more saddened by the fact that it was a birthday dinner at my favorite L'Osteria. They have been visiting branches in Prague for years and I recommend them all. It's a shame that they give L'Osteria such bad publicity in Leipzig. I'm sorry we didn't run away at the beginning when a table wasn't ready for us with a reservation. There was a queue of frozen people with reservations outside. The lady at the door didn't speak English so she ignored me. I brushed up on my German. An hour-long wait for pizza and spaghetti followed. A waste of our time and money and all the ingredients. The result as if from a bad dream - a large pineapple shone on pizza capriciosa as the crown of the whole evening and spaghetti carbonara was tasteless. Greasy spaghetti with black pepper and cheese. Catastrophe. The staff didn't have time to bring us drinks or deal with anything. I immediately wrote an email with my bad experience and hoped that someone would apologize or write that a UFO had landed in the kitchen that evening and aliens from another galaxy were preparing our dinner and they are already gone and the service is brilliant again, as I am used to. It didn't happen. Ignorance. No reply even after 11 days. That's why I don't recommend this branch. Anyone who wants to experience how great and delicious L'Osteria can really be, I recommend a gastronomic experience in Prague - Old Town Square, Národní or Masaryčka.

From the first minute I felt welcome with their friendly and warm welcome. Julia G. impressed with her professionalism, attentiveness and a real sense of the guests' needs. She took the time to answer our questions about the food and responded flexibly to special requests - always with a smile on her face. I was particularly impressed by her quick yet calm way of working, even when there were a lot of guests. She was always present without seeming intrusive and made small gestures to ensure that we felt completely comfortable. Julia G. manages to offer a special experience through her positive charisma and excellent service. Thanks to her, our evening at L’Osteria was a real pleasure. We had reserved a table for two adults and two children. We had to wait 10 minutes for a free table. After we were assigned a table, we waited another 30 minutes in vain. Although we tried to make ourselves noticed with hand signals, the staff ignored us. Afterwards we left.

Starter and pasta were ok. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait for a table. The service was still good despite the store being packed. Entertainment hardly possible because of loud music. We were full, but you can't spend a cozy evening at an Italian restaurant there.

We were guests on December 31, 2024, of course with a reservation. What I thought was a shame was that we were given 1.5 hours. Very friendly staff, although we had to wait a whopping 50 minutes for our food (all four of us had only ordered starters). The food tasted very good, we would have liked an apology, which unfortunately we DIDN'T get. Atmosphere was very cozy, we would still like to come back. We wish the entire team a happy new and healthy year 2025.

We made a reservation for 8 p.m. and were there 10 minutes beforehand. Our table was still occupied and we were told we could sit at the table from 8 p.m. 10 minutes after 8 we were allowed to go to the table while we stood in the cold. Ordered a starter, but unfortunately it didn't arrive until half an hour later. When we asked after an hour we were told our food had been forgotten and that we had to wait another 15 minutes. As “compensation” there was a schnapps on the house. The service was very unfriendly and snippy. Unfortunately, when the food came, another salad was forgotten...Food was okay, unfortunately not seasoned enough even though it was said that the pasta dish was a bit spicy. Music was uncomfortably loud, making it difficult to have a conversation. No need to repeat.

We went there in a group of 9 people. We were told by friends that the service is very good and the food is on the table quickly. Unfortunately we were only allowed to sit at the table 15 minutes after booking began. The food was then eaten quickly, but unfortunately the main course was completely forgotten and the starter came after about 45 minutes. We then got the main course at 9:30 p.m. and had to leave again 30 minutes later. All in all, the food was good and inexpensive but the service was, unfortunately, completely disappointing.

Great location, mediocre food & unfortunately not good service - definitely could be improved. When you enter the restaurant, you have to wait in line despite having a reservation because tables have to be assigned first - then you only get a time slot of 90 minutes and still wait 65-70 minutes for your food. When is it time to eat then? For the starter we asked for additional plates - we only received these after I asked for the second time & got up myself to ask another waitress. For the main course, pizza and pasta are brought to the table every 10 minutes - eating together is difficult. Then you ask for payment, still give a little tip and don't get a thank you. Shortly beforehand, another waiter arrives and points out that the table needs to be cleared - even though you are still waiting for payment. In my opinion, the concept here urgently needs to be revised.

Das Lokal war sehr voll, die Musik VIEL zu laut, man musste sich förmlich anschreien, um sich zu unterhalten (wie hält das Personal das aus?). Ca. 45 min auf das Hauptgericht gewartet, wobei nicht alle Speisen gleichzeitig kamen (Pizza zuerst, dann Pasta, zum Schluss Lasagne (nachdem alle anderen schon fertig waren)). Eine Speise konnte überzeugen, drei waren in Ordnung und eine fiel komplett durch: Pasta mit gegrilltem Gemüse - das Gemüse war höchstens (!) gebraten, aber nicht gegrillt. Zudem hätten die Nudeln noch garen müssen (mehr als al dente). Alles in allem enttäuschend.

The ambience and food were good as always. The actually good ambience is completely destroyed by playing Spanish music that is too loud! A restaurant that is completely Italian (as a guest you are even spoken to in Italian) and then Spanish music plays? - complete fail! I would fire the marketing manager.

It felt more like a mass dispatch. The ambience of the premises was good but it was extremely loud. The operators really fueled this by making the music much too loud. You couldn't have a conversation. The food was ok, but the pizzas were overly large, so they skimped on the toppings and there wasn't that much cheese to be seen. But a good pizza needs a lot of cheese. The service was rarely seen. So we were often left stranded because it wasn't possible to order more drinks. You could have gone to the counter, but because of the volume you wouldn't have been able to hear us anyway.

- Bedienung war unfreundlich und brauchte lange bis die Getränke und das Essen entgegen genommen wurde - einige Sitzgelegenheiten sind sehr unbequem, wenig Platz ohne direkt andere Restaurantgäste anzurempeln - bei vollem Restaurant längere Wartezeiten beim Essen - Reservierungszeit nur für 2h eingeplant - Essen kam eine halbe Stunde vor Ende der Zeit - Pizza musste hinter geschlungen werden - Dessert war durch die abgelaufene Zeit nicht mehr möglich - kleiner Rausschmiss durch unfreundliches Personal nach Zeitverstrich - Aufforderung zu zahlen da die nächsten Gäste bereits eingetroffen sind - zu Laute Musik macht eine Unterhaltung eher schwierig - bisher nur gute Erfahrungen gemacht - nach diesem Abend eher kein erneuter Besuch - es war ein Geburtstagsessen - wurde in einem anderen Lokal fortgeführt -Geburtstagkind war dementsprechend niedergeschlagen

If you only allocate 1.5 hour time slots anyway (a cozy dinner is something else), then you shouldn't need 1 hour for 2 pizzas. And as if that wasn't annoying enough, the waitress came 2 minutes after our pizza finally arrived and asked us to pay because the table would be needed again soon. An apology and the really delicious pizzas no longer help. Overall a disappointing and stressful experience.
